Sonny Eclipse had eight songs in his repertoire that he performed roughly every twenty-five minutes or so. He sat behind his Amazing Astro Organ with the Space Angels singing back up. He sat and played while people mostly paid no mind to him or the Space Angels.
Mainly because he was playing in a cafe. Not even a restaurant. So, many people had their backs to him as they ate. Many facing him, looked through him as they chewed their burgers and fries or whatever else they sold at Cosmic Ray's.
Still, he had his fans, and he knew it. After the Magic Kingdom closed, he would talk with the Space Angels about it. They may be invisible, but they were still there and a very important part of his act. He loved performing with them.
He'd been there for twenty-seven years now. Performing the same eight songs sometimes as much as thirty-two times a day. But every day brought something new - there were always surprises.
He loved seeing who would interact with his act. Sometimes it just wasn't the people he expected. And it was those little surprises that made it all worth it.
That and the free burgers.
