Nipper used to be a real dog. He used to sit in a flying saucer, listening to a phonograph.
Now he was a robot. And had been since 1994.
He didn't think about that - it was traumatic.
For the next few years, he sat faithfully at the side of his robot master.
Then, his master left and Nipper was moved to an office holding a bone in his jaw. A boring time.
Now, he had a red robotic cape. And he sat in a canyon, in front of a screen that showed futuristic tour destinations, watching it.
Head still cocked.
A/N:
Nipper is the Jack Russell dog from the famous Francis Barraud painting, His Master's Voice. Nipper was a real dog that actually existed - he lived from 1884-1895. Here in the UK, the His Master's Voice painting is the trademark of music retailer HMV (which takes it's name from the painting). But in America, the painting is the trademark of RCA Records. Which was the first sponsor of Space Mountain. Hence Nipper listening to the phonograph in a flying saucer. When RCA pulled out, Nipper got skinned, but remained a part of the attraction, and is still there today - he's at the end, when you're walking to the gift shop.
