After the whole wedding was going to start, Brooke saw Jules run out of the church, leaving poor Keith at the altar. Next thing she knew, Keith, Lucas, Dan, and Karen dashed out after the runaway bride.
Brooke felt like joining them but wanted to steer clear of Dan after their bathroom mishap. So, she told Peyton and Jake, 'I gotta go.' 'Okay,' Peyton replied, giving Brooke a quick nod before she hurried out to see what was happening.
Outside, Keith looked pretty upset at Karen before they all came back inside. As everyone left, Brooke stood at the doors, shaking her head. Lucas came up to her and asked, 'Hey, Brooke, you doing okay?'
'Hey, I'm good, how about you?' Brooke asked, staring into Lucas's blue eyes. 'I don't know,' Lucas admitted as Brooke held his hand. 'Well, if you need anything, I'm here,' she whispered.
'Yeah, thanks, I know,' Lucas replied, kissing her forehead, which made Brooke smile and feel safe. 'Anyway, I should go. Why don't you go check on Nathan and make sure he's not doing anything stupid?' she suggested, patting his chest gently before heading into the church to find Peyton and Jake for a ride.
Lucas agreed, watching Brooke walk away before deciding to make sure she was okay instead of going to the apartment to check on Nathan. He couldn't ignore the feelings he was developing for the brunette again.
When Brooke realized Peyton and Jake had already left, she sighed and decided to walk home alone.
Brooke sat down to clear her head and felt a hand on her shoulder, it was Lucas. 'Lucas, I thought you were going to check on Nathan,' she whispered, looking at him and then at her lap.
'I was, but I couldn't stop worrying about you,' Lucas answered. 'About me?' She asked. Lucas nodded and said, 'Yes, I've noticed how your mood changes when you think nobody is paying attention.'
Brooke frowned and asked, 'And?' 'And I want to know what's going through that pretty head of yours,' Lucas said, nudging her gently with his elbow. Brooke sighed and said, 'My dad got this new job in California, and he wants us to move there because of it.' Closing her eyes, she looked upset, surprising Lucas with this new information.
'I don't want to go,' Brooke whispered, her voice cracking, which broke Lucas's heart. He didn't want her to leave, especially now that they were becoming friends again. He couldn't tell her he wanted her to be his girlfriend again, knowing she was with Felix.
Lucas held her tight, saying, 'It'll be okay, we'll figure something out.' Brooke sniffled, asking, 'How?' Tears streaming down her face. 'I'll figure it out,' Lucas assured her, running his fingers through her hair.
'Brooke,' he called, making her look into his eyes. 'Yeah?' she responded, gazing at his blue eyes. 'Where did you get those scratches on your arms?' He asked, tracing the dried blood on them.
Brooke moved away to inspect the marks Dan had left in the bathroom earlier that day. Glancing up, she tensed at the sight of Dan in the room.
Brooke tried to cover up the truth by saying she had scratched herself by squeezing her arms too tight. She didn't want Lucas to find out it was his father who had hurt her.
Lucas gave her a suspicious look and asked, 'Are you sure?'
Brooke assured him, 'Yes, I'm sure,' with a smile, planting a kiss on his cheek. She added, 'I'd tell you if it was someone else,' but Lucas could tell she was lying.
'Alright,' he said, dropping the subject and instead asking if she was ready to go home. Brooke agreed cheerfully, taking Lucas's hand as they walked out to his jeep and drove away. 'Thank you,' she whispered.
( The Next Day)
Brooke couldn't help but be happy that Felix was back home but deep down she was having a change of heart being with him but she didn't want to hurt him especially when she was slowly starting to have feelings for someone else.
" So how was your boat trip?' Brooke asked with a smile she was going to ignore the feelings she was feeling and just be with Felix" It wasn't as fun as it should been. " Felix said wrapping his arm around her, " Because the trip didn't have you." He said kissing her head.
Brooke nodded with a giggle " I'm sure." She said and smiled when she saw Lucas walking up to them" Hey, Luke." She greeted as the blond caught up to them" Hey, Crazy girl." Lucas said with a smile" Hey, Felix.' He greeted, the other boy who nodded.
Felix kissed Brooke gently on the lips " Well I got to go." He said and nodded to Lucas before he walked off towards the school leaving Brooke and Lucas alone" So feeling a bit better?' Lucas asked" How's the scratchs?"
Brooke couldn't help but laugh at his concern and shook her head wrapping her arms around his" I'm fine, and the scratches aren't even noticeable anymore.' She said showing Lucas her arms to let him get a look.
Lucas nodded with a smile " Good." He said looking at the brunette's arms he still didn't believe her story about her scratching herself because the scratch marks were bigger then her fingers, " Well I should get going to class." Brooke said and left Luca alone with his thoughts.
Lucas watched Brooke skip away from him and turned when he heard a voice from behind him" Hey, Luke is everything okay?" Peyton asked walking over to Lucas with Jake seeing that the blond boy was staring off in space" Yeah, I was just talking to Brooke." He said.
Peyton nodded" Really? I thought she'd be hanging out with Felix since he's back.' She said as she held Jake hand " Well I caught up to them and just talked a bit, and I've asked her about the scratches on her arm and I don't believe she scratched herself." Lucas said.
Peyton and Jake looked at each other " Really? I'm sure it's nothing but if you want Jake and I have a class with her each and we can keep an eye on her." The blond girl offered, Lucas nodded" If you guys can I'll let Felix know to keep an eye on her to, and if you guys see Nathan let him know but I don't think he's in the right mind."
" I'm sure Nathan will at least help us keep an eye on Brooke it'll get his mind off of Haley." Jake said as they walked with Lucas to class.
( With Brooke)
Brooke was sitting between Peyton and Anna, chatting about random stuff while the teacher was blabbing on about random stuff. 'Hey, you good?' Peyton asked Brooke, catching Anna's attention as she leaned in.
'Yeah, I'm fine, why?' Brooke asked, wondering why Peyton kept checking on her every few seconds. 'Just checking,' Peyton smiled. Before Brooke could answer, the teacher interrupted with a pass for her.
'Miss. Davis, you need to go down to the office,' the teacher stated. Brooke frowned, taking the pass. 'Why?' she inquired, exchanging confused glances with Peyton and Anna. 'I wasn't told why, just go and grab your stuff because class will be done when you're back,' the teacher dismissed.
'Okay, okay,' Brooke replied, standing up to leave. She was curious about why she was summoned to the office, biting her lip when she noticed the pass didn't specify the destination. 'I'll catch up with you guys later,' Brooke said, walking away.
Brooke saw Dan waiting outside the office and quipped, ' Good to see you, Miss. Davis." Confused, she wondered why he was there and what he wanted from her, thinking that he would have moved on after the wedding.
'Mr. Scott?' Brooke managed to say as Dan approached. 'Come with me, will you?' he requested, urging her to follow. 'Why? I need to go to the office,' she protested.
Brooke flinched as Dan chuckled and insisted, 'I'm the one who called you down here, so come with me!' he said, grabbing her arm and leading her to a room only he knew about.
