Brooke was strolling down the school hallway towards her locker, excited that it was finally Friday. Cheerleading practice got canceled because she was going away for the weekend with her best friends.
She had a big grin on her face and couldn't wait to leave tree hill for a bit. Brooke managed to avoid Dan for most of the we"k by sticking with Lucas or Nathan, and if not them, she hung out with the other girls or Mouth.
She had informed Lucas that she'd meet them at Nathan and Haley's place before heading out for the weekend.
Although her bruised neck and lip had healed nicely, she still felt like Dan was keeping an eye on her every move. She needed to let Dan know about her plans for the weekend so he could forget about his little dance.
"Miss Davis!" Brooke's body tensed up when she heard Dan's voice right behind her. The brunette swallowed as she was about to shut her locker, but Dan did it for her.
Brooke bit her lip as she turned to give Dan her attention, "Is there anything you need, Mr. Scott?" She asked, trying to find an escape route and saw there wasn't anyone else nearby, which meant she was alone with Dan.
"I've been trying to talk to you for the last few days, so what's with the avoiding me?" Dan demanded, moving his hand to brush Brooke's hair behind her ear.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Scott, I was busy with class." The brunette bit her lip. It wasn't all a lie she did have classes. Dan looked at her and laughed, shaking his head.
"I think you can stop lying now, little girl because I know you're avoiding me, and it's hard for me to get close to you because of your little guard dogs!" He said, pinning Brooke against her locker, his fingers running circles around her bare shoulders.
"Hey, just a heads up to come to my beach house for a little dance," Dan mentioned winking, "and don't worry, I won't be mad about your little stories. See you around 9 am tomorrow, okay? Or else…"
Brooke tried to push him away, saying "Back off!!" but Dan just grinned and leaned in close, whispering in her ear, "Not gonna happen."
As Brooke attempted to explain about her plans for the weekend, Dan abruptly cut her off by pushing her head against the locker.
Despite the pain, Brooke pleaded, "I can dance for you another time, Mr. Scott…" Dan considered her offer, intrigued by the possibility of letting her go in exchange for something else.
Dan thought Brooke was lying about her plans and suspected who was behind it. 'Where you headed this weekend?' he asked, releasing her.
'Um, not sure yet…meeting up with Nathan, Lucas, and the others at his place. We're going out of Tree Hill till Sunday,' Brooke said nervously. Dan chuckled and gestured for her to go.
'Alright, we'll do it your way for now,' he said with a fake smile as Brooke eyed him warily and moved around him. 'Miss Davis,' Dan called out before she could go too far.
The brunette turned to him and was about to ask what he wanted when she got a surprise punch to the face, knocking her off her feet with a hard blow. 'You forgot something!' Dan said as he quickly caught Brooke before she hit the ground.
'I planned this all out in advance, so your friends and boyfriend won't be able to stop it,' Dan said, pushing a strand of hair away from Brooke's face to see blood running down her nose and mouth from his punch.
Brooke caught snippets of what Dan was saying before everything went black, and she felt herself being lifted and thrown over a shoulder.
'You've been bad, little Davis,' the brunette heard as she drifted out of consciousness.
Dan carried her out back of the school to avoid being seen with an unconscious Brooke, and when he reached his dark SUV, he roughly placed her in the back seat.
( With Lucas, Nathan and The others)
Lucas ran his hand over his chin, trying to call Brooke again, like, for the tenth time. 'Where the hell is she?' he muttered angrily when her phone went straight to voicemail.
'She might be on her way,' Peyton suggested as she arranged their bags by the door. 'You know Brooke, always making an entrance and making sure she has everything.' Lucas sighed, realizing Peyton might be onto something.
'I guess you're right,' he mumbled. Nathan chimed in, 'Brooke's always fashionably late but at she usually gives a heads-up.'
Haley, pacing the living room, joined the conversation, 'What time are we leaving? I'm sure everything's fine. Dan hasn't shown up for days, maybe he finally gave up.'
"Okay, we've got at least four more hours before we need to head out," Nathan said, peeking at his phone. He pondered his wife's words and added, "But that doesn't mean Dan's not scheming to get Brooke alone or something."
"I should've waited for Brooke," Lucas grumbled, his blue eyes burning with self-directed frustration. He attempted to call the brunette again, urging, "Come on, pick up the phone, pretty girl!" Ignoring everyone else in the room.
As he anxiously paced the living room, waiting for Brooke's answer, there came a knock on the door. "I'll go check," Haley offered, allowing Lucas to set his phone on the couch.
"Hey there?" Haley greeted as she opened the door to find a group of police officers on the doorstep. "Um, can we help you officers?" she inquired, looking puzzled at their unexpected visit.
Nathan, Lucas, Peyton, and Jake headed to the door when they heard Haley say, 'We received a call from someone concerned.' Nathan asked, 'About what?' while his mind was racing.
'I'm afraid we'll fill you in on the way, so please come with us,' the male officer said, stepping aside for the teens to follow the female officer.
Lucas felt something wasn't right, exchanged a look with Nathan and Jake, then addressed the officers, 'Aren't you supposed to tell us why we're being arrested?' Nathan raised an eyebrow.
'We don't have time to argue with teenagers, now move or I'll have to use force!' the male officer replied.
'I promise it'll only take a few hours,' he added. Lucas nudged his brother, saying, 'Let's try to talk our way out of this. We each get one call, so let's come up with a plan.'
In one cruiser, it was Lucas and Nathan, while Jake and Peyton took another. Haley sat in the middle of them. "This is fucked up," Nathan cursed, burying his face in his hands.
The blond clenched his hands into fists, wondering who would try to set them up like this unless they wanted them out of the way.
"Dan!" he thought as the pieces were coming together. If he was right, then Brooke was in trouble, and they couldn't stop it.
Once they got to jail, they were thrown into cells. Lucas immediately went over, 'Hey, do we get a call?' he asked, hitting the bars. 'We didn't do anything!' Peyton exclaimed as she sat down on one of the benches.
'Shut up in there! We'll talk to you in a minute. And no, you guys don't get any calls until further notice!' the male officer shouted, smacking the cell with his stick. Lucas clenched his fists angrily.
'Hey buddy, try to stay calm,' Jake said, pulling the blond guy away from the cell where Nathan was leaning with his eyes closed.
'Do we even know why we're here and what's going on?' Haley asked as she sat beside Peyton, wrapping her arms around herself and looking at Nathan and Lucas.
Lucas pushed Jake away and yelled, 'Damn it!' He screamed, 'This has to be Dan all over it!' With angry and scared looks in his blue eyes.
'Why the hell will Dan have us arrested?' Peyton asked, curious. Then she noticed the same expressions on Nathan and Lucas. 'To get to Brooke!' Nathan cursed quietly.
