A/N: Thanks for your patience everyone! I just wanted to thank you all for the support, and address some comments about the MC being stupid. To that, I say thank you for noticing! :)

I made him that way on purpose. He's a dragon in the Fairy Tail universe with the powers of The Gamer, who used to be an ordinary human. His power is going to sky rocket, whereas all his previous life he was near powerless! Something's got to happen for character growth and development. It can't be done entirely through power, so it'll be done through other aspects.

The MC was a human, now a different being entirely, who only knows how to be a Gamer at this point. He lived somewhere where things like magic, guilds, and dragons don't exist. Transferring to a new world with a new body is a learning curve, even with a calm and forcibly logical mind.

Thanks again, and enjoy. :)

Okay, I'll be honest. This wasn't much of a plan, but it was something.

Right now, I needed a way to open a portal to get to Edolas. I have no idea how that would work. Teleportation magic? Definitely involved. Ripping through a dimensional barrier? Probably involved. Do I know anything about this kind of stuff? Not even a little.

I looked around the bubbly landscape. I'm able to sense magic, so maybe this'll work...

Closing my eyes, I focused on the magic in our immediate vicinity.

Dumbledore was right. All magic leaves traces. I turned to Luxion.

"I can sense a faint presence of Edolas' magic power still," I told him, "Residue left over from the Anima spell. I want you to analyze the leftover magic; we're going to recreate the spell so we can travel to Edolas ourselves!"

"Understood, sir," Flashes of white light began pulsing along the black lines on his spherical body as he began slowly hovering across the foamed landscape.

"Report to me when you've finished," I said, turning away, "I have something else to get done."

I looked in the direction of where Cardia Cathedral once stood. I know that's where it used to be because the pink dungeon portal was still there. Time to hit the grindstone.

I flew up to the pink portal, which was still high above the ground where the roof of the cathedral once stood. When I got there though, I stopped short.

A little ways away, where the border of the foamy and bubbly landscape ended (or began, depending on your perspective) stood a portal that looked similar to a dungeon portal. Except it was a lot bigger, and was a rainbow of swirling colors.

Curious, I soared closer to it, using Observe.

Special Event Dungeon!
Magnolia has been taken by the Anima, leaving a bubbly landscape behind.
This has left several strange, aggressive magical anomalies in its wake. Defeat them all for some unique rewards!
Would you like to participate in this special event?
Y/N

I assumed that if I accepted I would be taken through this portal and have to face off against wave after wave of whatever these magical anomalies are. Considering it a good way to gain XP, I accepted.

Quest Accepted!
Defeat the anomalies!
(Wave 1/7)
Rewards:
500,000 XP

Ho, mama, that's a lot of XP! That was the equivalent of a Mythic Dungeon! I gotta beat seven waves of these guys, and that huge XP reward makes me think it'll be difficult. Drat.

As I dismissed the notification window, a strange surge of magic power manifested in front of me, forming what looked like a flying serpent made of foam and bubbles. Interesting.

Let the games begin, I guess.

Turns out, these bubble snakes weren't all that difficult to get rid of. The problem was their numbers. Wave after wave came crashing down on me.

Because the anomalies were made of pure magic, however, I had a distinct advantage. I was able to resist the majority of their attacks. I love dragon hacks!

I really had to utilize some quick thinking with my runic magic in order to defeat them all. I can confidently say I'm proficient quickly writing both my flame and explosion runes.

I appreciated the experience too; by the time it ended I felt more confident at better utilizing runes in combat.

Speaking of, the XP gain was insane! I gained several levels alone from killing the anomalies, not to mention the XP from the quest itself!

That's odd…I've never seen a dungeon come with a hidden objective and reward. I'll have to pay extra attention here.

This dungeon, and I shouldn't have been surprised, was a Holy Dungeon. It took me to a fantasy church setting where I had to face off against exorcists, paladins, nuns, and priests.

This was the first dungeon where I faced off against actual people (humans, that is to say), and though I couldn't understand their language, I could tell that after a while they were all frightened.

Geez, they make these dungeons realistic. I almost felt bad for killing them all, but I was getting good level ups!

The main boss was a high priest, who was the strongest magic wielder I've fought so far. Not come across, mind you, but actually fought. The witch from the library was the most diverse caster I've faced, but this guy was strong, as far as magic goes. Even without my Arcane Sense skill, I could practically smell the holy magic coming off him.

Luckily for me, I'm a dragon, not a demon. And unluckily for our holy wizard here, I was the kind that was resistant to magic. And he was the last one I had to take out.

The battle with the high priest took longer than I thought it would, but just as I was about to deal what would be the final blow as I flew in front of him, I sensed a familiar magic activate, causing me to pause. It felt like the spell used with Daphne's lizard golems.

A magic circle made a person, a young woman, appear directly in front of the old priest, who was quivering and shaking in his ornate, torn and dirtied robes.

What really made me pause was the state the young woman was in. She was dressed in an old rag that looked more like a potato sack with a thin rope for a belt. She was covered in dirt, and smelled horrible; she too was in a state of fear and shock. Probably at being brought before a small dragon that had been on a killing spree. Her body was thin and frail, as though she hadn't been eating properly for weeks. There was a collar around her neck that radiated a small presence of magic.

My eyes narrowed as I tilted my head in confusion; this momentary distraction bought the high priest enough time to not only summon more people, most young women or girls, in a similar state as the first young woman, but to also bark harshly at them in their foreign language.

As soon as he finished speaking, the magic in the collars these people wore flared, and they started to move, attacking me with fear in their faces.

That's when it hit me. These were slaves…he was using them as meat shields while he fled!

My lips curled into a snarl as my eyes narrowed; rage bubbled inside me. I. Hate. Slavery.

This man will burn!

A roar erupted from my throat.

I flapped my wings as hard as I could, and despite my small size, all the charging slaves staggered by the sudden small gust of wind; without pause I barreled directly into the fleeing high priest; he was actually moving pretty fast.

But not fast enough.

Using earth bending, I reached out and pulled back with a firm grab with both talons, causing two small pillars of rock to ram into his shins, breaking them with a crack!

"Come to die," I sneered, my voice harsh and gravelly from roaring so fiercely. I aimed my teeth at his throat!

He barely turned in time, causing my teeth to sink straight into his right shoulder, where I bit down hard. With two strong jerks of my neck, I tore his arm right off.

He screamed in agony, all thoughts of fleeing forgotten as shock rippled his nervous system.

Before his severed arm hit the floor, I aimed my open maw at his left leg; my arcane breath incinerated his femur and hip joint, causing him to collapse to the ground in absolute agony.

Blood poured from his shoulder, while mana burns covered and cauterized the lower left half of his body.

His eyes were wide, full of tears and fear as he stared at me, flapping and hovering above him. Wind from my wings blew his balding hair back; I snarled as I stared into his filthy eyes. The red pattern on my scales flared as I dived into his head, crushing it and cracking the stone beneath him!

I'll admit I used earth bending there a little.

Even though he was dead and brutalized, I continued stomping and smashing his head for a good few seconds.

When I looked up, still with a snarl on my snout, the slaves, whose collars had crumpled with the high priest's death, had either fled or were petrified with fear.

I felt myself calm down, Gamer's Mind setting itself over my psyche. It wasn't until later that I deduced why Gamer's Mind was inactive at that time. That was the first time I experienced my Wrath of Sloth trait.

I looked at the bloody pulp that was the target of my rage. I expected to feel something for having killed someone in such a way, but I only felt a simmer of rage pass through me.

I have no regrets. And no humanity.

The exit to the dungeon appeared, and without bothering to even loot, I stormed out, eager to be rid of this place.

…At least, that's what I would've done had I not seen how many ornate golden objects were in the chapel alone. When did I get so greedy?

With a sigh and a slight shake of my head, I flew through the whole of this massive church, looting everything of value I could find.

I couldn't help but smile as I did so. Gold is such a good color!

As I exited through the pink portal, I found out what the hidden objective was for the dungeon.

Tier Shard

Freeing the slaves. I know that the dungeons produce NPC's, but that was still…aggravating. Slavery is unacceptable in my book. I had to deal with human trafficking back in my old world. It was horrible.

I set those thoughts aside before I sent myself into a rage again.

Luxion was still making his analysis, so I set myself to organize the loot I had obtained.

From the church's treasury, I looted the equivalent of a small dragon's hoard! Pun intended.

10,000 gold coins with what I assume was the seal of a kingdom, several jewel encrusted artifacts, ranging from candle sticks, crowns, and staves. Several roles of what I can only assume to be some kind of silk, furs, and a book on holy magic.

In total, I now had 10 gacha to use. Sweet! And then there's this Tier Shard. It looked like a teardrop made of smooth crystal.

Tier Shard
Consume to use. Allows one free Tier to be upgraded from your chosen skill tree.

This was…woah! This was awesome! Some of those Tier upgrades cost a lot, this'll save me so many stat points! I better hold onto it for now.

"Master," Luxion appeared before me, "My analysis of the surrounding area is complete."

"Perfect," I smiled, "Can we use the residual magic in the area to open a portal?"

"Not without consuming more of Earthland's magic, and converting it into a lacrima; And given your current amount of MP, we don't have access to enough magic power to open an Anima to begin with," Luxion reported, "In addition, any being with foreign magic power that travels into Edolas through the Anima alone will immediately be transformed into a lacrima upon contact with their world."

"That's disappointing," I frowned, "How much would it require?"

"I cannot say for certain, though your amount is still meager compared to the amount of residual power left by Edolas in the atmosphere alone," Luxion answered.

"Rats," I snarled, thinking for a bit.

"You said all foreign magic gets turned into a lacrima. What about those with Dragonslayer magic? Or dragons themselves?" I questioned.

"Without having analyzed Dragonslayer magic myself, I cannot say for certain," Luxion answered, "But my limited knowledge of this Lost Magic from your memories suggests that Dragonslayer magic is simply a form of dragon magic transplanted into a humanoid being."

"Hm…" An idea was forming in my mind…

"Okay," I said, weaving my thoughts together, "But despite those risks and setbacks, we are able to recreate the spell, yes?"

"With your abilities to manipulate arcane energies, and my analysis, I am more than confident that we can recreate the spell known as 'Anima,'" Luxion stated firmly, "Though your MP alone is insufficient."

"What if we reverse-engineered the spell?" I pushed. Luxion was silent for a while before answering.

"Recreating the magic circle used, yes," He stated, "However, without a proper understanding of magic circles, we are unable to reverse-engineer the Anima spell completely."

"Rats…" I knew exactly what we would be doing as soon as we got the guild's library back.

"Hm…" I pulled out the Librarian witch's books from my inventory, "Maybe something in here will help."

There were five books in total. The first four were written in english, thank heavens! And thank my lucky stars, the fifth was written in draconic! YES!

Luxion was able to read English by now, thanks to my memories, though he still couldn't speak it. To do that, he needed to analyze speech and vibration patterns so his microphones and speakers could produce the correct noises.

It's scary how much he can scan. But he was able to absorb knowledge from books the good old fashioned way, which was nice. I had to turn the pages for him, but evidently he's a fast reader. I never had to wait to turn a page.

The first book talked about potion making and different applications of alchemy. Useful, but I set that aside for later.

The second book was a book on herbology; the magical variety to be specific. Again, useful, but not what we were currently looking for.

The third book was…good grief, it's the witch's diary! From the time she was 15 years old to her death! I put that one away quickly after reading some…fantasies she had as a teenager. Next up, please!

The fourth book detailed how magic conducted from a wand or staff was used, how they differed from wandless spellcasting, and the recipes for said tools. They were strangely similar to wandlore from Harry Potter, but different at the same time. This book described not only different wood types or magical creatures that could be used, but metals and gems as well.

The fifth book, written in draconic, was the only one not written by the witch herself. It was an archive, a textbook of different dragon species. It even named some of the more prevalent dragons in history, including a character called 'Ashardalon.' I didn't recognize any of these names, but just glossing over it, I could see the history of dragonkind was wildly diverse.

All very interesting information, and definitely stuff I want to study, but not helpful right now!

I sighed heavily, breathing through my mouth, "Now what?"

In total, it's been about five hours since Magnolia was taken. It's a good thing I don't require sleep.

Luxion and I have made some progress, but not much. We have a theory on how to get to Edolas, but by putting it into practice, we'd have to take a large portion of Earthland with us. The result: another huge lacrima manifesting itself in Edolas.

Not to mention I don't have enough magic to activate a spell in the first place.

With this knowledge, we began working with runic magic. I've got this class maxed out, the runes I can create are of legendary quality. Surely we can come up with something.

While Luxion continued to analyze our work, I made time working with my stats.

My DEX was looking much better, and my WIS score was higher than my INT score now.

MP was sitting at 6,150, while the regen rate was 1,290 per minute. Around 21 points per second if my math was right. Not too shabby, though I still had no idea how my power level ranked in this world.

I also had more points I could use right now. I spent some on a couple of assassin skills, using 30 points total.

Killing Mastery Tier 1
You now have innate knowledge of how to kill a specific race of being, regardless of how powerful they are. This ability comes in great significance when dealing with seemingly unstoppable opponents and allows you to gain knowledge on how to end their lives with expedient efficiency. Note, this only gives you knowledge, not ability.
This skill scales with your INT and WIS stat.
Target Race: Dragon

Each Tier in this skill allowed me to select another race to gain knowledge of. I chose dragons because as I grow, humans and other races similar would become easier and easier to deal with. Dragons, however, only have one true weakness: other dragons.

Excluding Dragonslayer magic, of course, but my point remains. All the super powerful beings I'll face in this world that will truly present a problem will be dragons.

Inaudible Movement Tier 2
You can move with complete and absolute silence, allowing you to move or stand without disturbing most of your environment (save what you physically walk on) and sneak up on almost anyone.
This ability scales with your DEX stat and size.

Now I won't have to worry too much about making noise when I try to sneak around.

For the remainder of my points, I was going to take a bit of a gamble.

I've never been one to gamble, but I have ten gacha tokens right now, and I have the LUK potion. So, I did something pretty bold. I put 150 points into my LUK stat, bringing it up to 190.

Looking back, I was being so stupid using that potion right then; though I won't say I'm unhappy with the results.

I downed the LUK potion, bringing the stat to 690.

I was already regretting this decision, but it was too late now! I'll have to be quick, this potion only lasts 60 seconds. I snapped the first gacha!

Level Reward
Upon reaching level 500, a random legendary reward will be granted!

Interesting. Not helpful right now, but now I have something else to look forward to.

Dragon Raffle Nest
Upon placing this unique nest, a clutch of dragon eggs will materialize, whose exact species will be randomized.

Okay, that's actually really interesting.

Your END has been doubled!

Useful!

Skill Gained!
Animal Handling LVL 1, 0%
This skill allows you to interact with and tame animals. With a high enough level, even animals considered more feral, aggressive, and "untamable" become trainable to you.

This skill definitely has its uses, but I can't see how taming animals will be useful to me; I'm a dragon for crying out loud!

Runic Ring
A carefully crafted ring with several runes both engraved and enchanted in. Primary usage is to store magic power. The power stored cannot be sensed.
Current Power: 0 MP

This has the potential to be absolutely broken! Is there a limit on what it can store? I was about to put it away, before looking at it more carefully. I didn't recognize the runes, but it did give me an idea…I'd have to toy with that later though. I snapped another token.

Spell Skill: Alter Size
This spell will alter your own size. You can change to any size smaller or bigger than your own, limited only by your MP. Your MP will constantly drain while this spell is active; The rate at which it drains increases exponentially the bigger the size difference from your original size.

I can definitely work with this!

Book of Minion
A legendary book that details the required rituals and items needed to create and summon absolute loyal minions.

I'll definitely be looking at this later! Absolute loyal minions...I wonder how that would work.

Cache of Ingredients
A bag of rare potion ingredients and enchanting materials, as well as seeds that can be used to grow more. Produces a random rare material or ingredient every week on top of the materials it already possesses.

Useful, but not what I need right now. That's gonna become my catch phrase at this point. The next gacha put a very interesting green vial in my hand.

C.C.C.
This Legendary artifact, known as a Class Cheat Code, will completely max out your currently equipped class.

Woah…I know what I'm doing when I get my next class!

Last one…Oh gosh.

ARK Seed
This divine-ranked artifact is currently in the form of a human sized obelisk. Upon activation, it will expand and generate itself into an ARK.

An ARK seed? What the heck is that? I took the obelisk out of my inventory.

It was very ornate and esoteric looking; it actually looked quite familiar. It took me a second, but I know what it looks like at least.

It was an exact replica of the Obelisks you find in ARK: Survival Evolved, except on a MUCH smaller scale. It hovered about a foot off the ground. An ornate, esoteric triangle was engraved in the center; one side was red, the other green, while the third was blue.

No doubt about it. It's definitely an ARK Obelisk. But an ARK seed? What does that mean? My Observe was still only at level 2, so it wasn't bringing up much detail. I'll have Luxion take a loot at it later.

As I put the obelisk back in my inventory, I placed down the Dragon Raffle Nest. It was big enough for me to sit in. I have fifteen seconds left on the LUK potion, I might as well use this thing while that lasts. A second went by before I got a message.

Randomizing…
Clutch of dragon eggs received!

Three dragon eggs materialized inside the nest. They were pure black, making a stark contrast against the foamy-white ground. Curious as to their type, I used Observe on one of them.

Night Fury Egg

Night Furys? You're kidding…

I spent several seconds admiring them, before stashing them in my inventory. What is it with the gacha giving me dragon eggs? Not that I'm complaining, because WOOOAAAHHH…!

Although I didn't get much of anything that can help me right now, I can't say that I regret this anymore! Night Furys…

I have so many thoughts going through my head I start wishing I had a notebook to write them down in.

For now though, there was still the problem of how to get to Edolas.

With that in mind, I went to find Luxion. The Runic Ring I got gave me an idea.

"Any updates?" I asked him as soon as I made my way over to him.

"All analysis circulates back to the same conclusions," Luxion reported.

"More or less what I expected," I nodded, "But I've had an idea. We're not going to recreate the Anima spell. We're making our own."

"That will take some time, won't it?" Luxion asked.

"Then we'd better get to work," I smirked. My mastery of Runic magic was at a legendary level, and Luxion was one heck of an analyzer. We've got this!

Two hours passed before we came up with a prototype rune. I've also found out something new about runes; when they don't work as you intend initially, there's a high chance they'll explode. The foamy landscape that used to be Magnolia now had a fair number of craters of various sizes.

The end result of our experimenting might not be the greatest, but the process to get there proved to be fruitful.

I ended up with two new finalized runes; one to get into Edolas, and another for basic teleportation.

The basic teleportation rune, when activated, would teleport you to a location you could clearly see. Useful, but it had to be drawn on your physical body, and would disappear after a single use. Tedious, but it was a work in progress, one I would continue developing later.

As for the Edolas portal rune, which I'd dubbed the Re-Animus rune, that one was coming along more slowly than I'd like.

I finished drawing out the prototype using Mana Ink, then turned to Luxion.

"How's it look?" I asked. Luxion scanned it, white light flashing around his hemisphere as he did so.

"By my calculations, it should work," He reported, "Though you still may not have enough MP to activate it. More time is needed for a complete analysis."

"I know, I know," I sighed, "What if I put my remaining stat points into my INT score?" I pulled up my stat page so Luxion could see it. He answered after a second of consideration.

"You still wouldn't have enough," He responded.

"Seriously…" This was getting frustrating. Guess I've gotta go grinding again!

"Continue your analysis, then," I flexed my wings, "I'm going hunting."

I launched myself into the air, leaving Luxion behind.

The mini-map was invaluable. Dungeons that were in areas I've already explored, but missed, showed up on it. I was able to travel much faster in the East Forest to grind more dungeons. Some were difficult to find even with the map, as they were hidden in foliage or underground. One was even high in the clouds.

I was constantly on the move, not stopping to rest, admire the loot I gathered, or anything. I summoned Tyrfina for each one to get things moving faster.

I traversed 6 commons, 3 uncommon, 2 super rare, and another epic. 12 in total.

After we traversed the dungeons already on the map, which took about 14 hours if I had to guess, I took a route back to Magnolia I hadn't gone through before, where I discovered a rare dungeon.

The loot was pretty good. In total I got 18 gacha, 8 info tokens, several thousand gold coins, and various weaponry, none of it magical though. I had obtained swords, daggers, bows and arrows, lances, maces, axes, and a couple crossbows. All were made of steel or some other mundane metal.

The only dungeon of note was one that took us to an Old West town. We managed to get some basic guns and revolvers from there, along with an interesting orb that felt like a sturdy egg. It looked suspiciously like a Minecraft spawn egg; white with golden spots. It was dropped by the boss; The Sheriff.

Frontiersman's Dream
This mysterious spawn egg will spawn a gold mine. Must be used in a mountainous or desert environment.

Pretty broken, if you ask me. Though I guess you'd still have to mine out the gold to be able to do anything with it.

And last, but certainly not least, the levels were enough to max out my assassin class. Though I have the special event dungeon to thank for that, really.

Assassin - LVL 100/100

Max level achieved!

Extra XP withheld.

Perk gained:
Crit Modifier
When you land a successful sneak attack, the damage you inflict, including initial critical damage, is multiplied by 10, plus your DEX stat.

Select new class:
Fighter, Mage, Rogue, Support

I was flying back to Magnolia now. My next class was going to be maxed out instantly. Knowing this, I chose Mage. I needed more MP, so it only made sense.

I had been storing MP in the runic ring periodically, but evidently it still wasn't enough. Just how much power does a dimensional portal need?

Select a Subclass!
Elementalist, Druid, Illusionist, Necromancer, Summoner, Warlock

Elementalist could be good. It'd be nice to cast magic like that on the fly without having to write a rune depicting exactly what it does.

Select Element:
Pyromancer, Hydromancer, Aeromancer, Geomancer

Only access to the original four elements, huh? I already have earth bending; I could take it a step further and get earth magic, or I could diversify myself more…

Yeah, I'll go with this.

Class selected! Extra XP transferred!

Geomancer LVL 2/100
A mage capable of conjuring and controlling earth, rock, and metal.
Gain 2 INT and 2 WIS every level up.

Now I'll really be an earth specialist. I took out the C.C.C. Time to cheat! I thought as I downed the green vial.

Geomancer - LVL 100/100

Max level achieved!

Select max level perk:

Self-Geokinetic
You have total control over the earth you conjure. MP continuously drains while this skill is active.

Earth Elemental Form
You are able to transfigure your body (or parts of it) into powerful stone. Your geomancer spells and skills are twice as powerful in this form, and your original body becomes naturally more durable, including your internal organs. Continuously drains MP while active.

Quake
A super-spell that releases all your remaining MP for devastating effect. You can collapse the earth around you in a massive earthquake, opening fissures, creating mountains, or even tsunamis if you're near large enough bodies of water. Intensity varies depending on your remaining MP.

This is interesting; it's letting me choose the perk I want. Why couldn't I do that with the others? Oh well.

Quake would be pretty cool to have, and it wouldn't be a bad last resort. But it would use all my MP in one shot. Self-Geokinetic would probably be quite useful, but with earth bending it's kind of a moot point, and this one only lets me control the earth I conjure. As for Earth Elemental Form, it wouldn't be bad to be able to turn parts of my body completely into stone. I'd be able to hit a lot harder that way, and my geomancer spells will be stronger too.

I'll go with Earth Elemental Form. I'm an Arcane Dragon, people won't expect it, so it'll be a good way to surprise enemies. But the real reason I got it was because of Acnologia, and all the other dragons in this world. I have no doubt I'll be grappling with a few of them in the future, and having a skill like this should give me an edge in those fights. Having extra durability will come in handy.

Select new class:
Fighter, Mage, Rogue, Support

I have a class in every category except Fighter; I could continue with this "jack of all trades" thing I got going on and pick a class from there, or I could select something from the other categories and really start specializing in something.

You know what, I'm an Arcane Dragon. Magic is where I'm supposed to shine. I'll play to my strengths right now. Mage it is.

Select a Subclass!
Elementalist, Druid, Illusionist, Necromancer, Summoner, Warlock

I could go with Druid, keep with the earth theme by adding some nature magic to the equation. Or I could diversify my magical arsenal a little. Hm...this seems interesting, lets do this.

Warlock Selected!
Warlocks are masters of utilizing many forms of magic for their purposes. They are the most diverse form of a magic practitioner.
Gain 2 INT and 2 CHA every level up.

Warlocks level up with CHA? Wasn't expecting that, but hey, that's my lowest stat, I ain't complaining. Now that I think about it, isn't that how they work in D&D?

Select a Specialization!
Patron Magic, Focal Magic, Grimoire Magic, Ritual Magic, Sorcery Magic

Hm...considering these options and going over my own flaws, I think this one will be most beneficial.

Grimoire Magic
Your power and spells come from a Grimoire, one filled with all sorts of knowledge. The things you learn from this book classify you as a Warlock, and is the source of your power as one. Spells you cast from the Grimoire are twice as powerful than spells you cast without it. As you level up, more knowledge becomes available.

My Arcane Manipulation skill opens a limitless possibility with magic. But I'm clueless on how to do this; I lived in a world where no magic existed, and now I've been thrust into one as a being with powerful magical potential. I need help. My struggle with getting to Edolas has been embarrassing.

The Interface can provide that help quite nicely.

I took out the Grimoire. Flipping through the pages showed it was blank completely blank. Makes sense for level zero. Po was right, there is such thing as level zero! I suspect it'll fill out as I level up.

Speaking of, my stats aren't looking too terrible now.

Name: Kilgara

Not too bad for a hatchling, I must say. Wonder how long I'll be a hatchling. I'm level 300, yet still not even a year old. Being a Gamer is broken. My alignment changed as well, when did that happen? With the Holy Dungeon? Ah, I'll worry about that later.

It also felt real good having over a thousand points to work with.

Magnolia's foamy plain was finally in sight. In total, it's been about 24 hours since Edolas attacked. I wasn't too worried since in canon, Fairy Tail was there for about a day and a half before things got crazy in the Royal City. I still had 18 hours at most. Maybe.

Either way, it was time to get this show on the road.

"Luxion," I called out when I reached him, "Do we have enough power now?"

"I regret to inform you, master," Luxion stated robotically, "But no, you are still nowhere near close."

"Good grief," I sighed. This was getting ridiculous, "How much more do we need?"

"After taking more time to analyze, I would estimate around 900,000,000 to 1,000,000,000 points of MP are required to rip a hole through the dimensional barrier with this spell," he reported.

"What? One billion!?" I blinked. I didn't come close to that amount of power! And the Runic Ring only had 20,526 MP.

That's it then. There was no way for me to get to Edolas. Even if I put all my stat points into INT, it wouldn't be enough.

"How come you're only just now getting an exact number?" I asked, mind blank.

"While you were dungeon hunting, I continued my analysis of the after effects of the Anima spell," Luxion reported, "I was only able to come up with a rough estimate now because I had more time to analyze and calculate."

"Well…no wonder Edolas was running out of magic," I gazed at the sky. If they were using spells that costly that often when magic was already a finite resource…it's impressive they even have floating islands.

How much power did they get from taking Magnolia then!? Or is the spell I created just that inefficient?

I took the Runic Ring out of my inventory, then poured all my MP into it, bringing its total to 31,576. We'll be here a while longer until this thing has sufficient power. Will there even be enough time…? One billion is a lot!

In the meantime, I dropped the ARK obelisk in front of Luxion.

"Do me a favor," I said, "What can you analyze about this?"

The black line in his hemisphere began flashing as he scanned.

And scanned. And scanned.

Ten minutes later he was still analyzing. I was able to fill the ring two more times before he said something.

"This obelisk is the most complex object I have ever analyzed," Luxion finally reported, "I estimate that a thorough enough scan to begin to understand its functions would take roughly over a month."

"A month? Non-stop?" My eyes widened, "Wow! Well, scan what you can right now, we're going to be here for a while longer," The ring wasn't even a hundredth of the way there yet.

How long would it take to fill the ring to one billion anyway? Never thought I'd have to use math as a dragon, but here we go! I began writing the calculations on the ground.

My MP recharges every three minutes or so…If I do this right, converting that to minutes and hours…24 hours in a day…it would take…188 days!?

I slumped. Yep, no way am I getting to Edolas…not anytime soon. I suppose I could see if there's a way to siphon power from Earthland itself, but at the same time…

I turned my eyes up to the sky. They'll be back. I know Natsu and the rest will come out on top in the end. Heck, Happy and Carla get some major character development and growth there. Maybe it's best I don't interfere with that. They'll be back in like two days, anyway.

I've made the choice to not go along with canon, but in the end, it happened anyway. And now, I find myself missing them...

I've been seeing them as distant characters in a fantasy world. But now...I guess distance does make the heart grow fonder.

"Continue analyzing the Obelisk, Luxion," I turned away, "Alert me when Magnolia returns. I'm going to level up."

"Understood, sir," He began circling the esoteric structure.

With that, I picked a direction on my mini-map that was unexplored, and flew off.

A middle aged man looked on with a somber heart.

The massive building that was once the pride of a religious empire lay in smoking ruins.

As soon as the Kingdom was alerted to the destruction of the Holy Church by fleeing slaves, its ruler immediately sent its best detective and advisor. He was no ordinary man of the court. He was the Archmage, a scholar, retired adventurer, and the best mind since earth's own Sherlock Holmes.

Thus he, along with his two apprentices and a few Royal Knights, set out to discover what had happened to the Kingdom's Holy Church.

Upon entering the freshly burnt chapel, the Archmage immediately knew the cause of the fire was magic. Not only were there traces of a strong magic, but the large chapel itself was made of stone and marble, for the most part. The fact so much had burned proved the fire wasn't entirely natural.

But that wasn't what caught everyone's immediate attention. The first thing they all saw were the bodies.

Charred flesh, burnt skeletons, and mutilated corpses. Some were encased in damaged armor, now partially welded to flesh and bone.

"Oh, gods…" The Eldest Apprentice covered her mouth.

The Archmage examined one of the fallen paladins closely…judging from the armor, this was the son of a noble he was friends with. It was then that he saw a gaping hole in the breastplate of the fallen warrior. Those markings…

"These are mana burns…" He observed, gently brushing his hand over the edges of the damaged chest piece, "Potent ones…" They were still sizzling. He examined the area around him in greater detail.

Judging from the positions of the bodies, the way more mana burn marks resonated, and the fact that all the slaves got out…most if not all of the warriors and priests were killed before the fire started. Not even the Nuns were spared. So it was an attack. A raid of some sorts? Or a homicide, perhaps?

Continuing onward with their investigation, the Archmage went up to the second floor of the church, while he sent his apprentices and the knights downstairs.

The fire hadn't spread through this area as thoroughly. While that made it dangerous to traverse the second floor, as the foundation seemed more damaged, it also meant that more evidence wouldn't have burned away.

There were noticeably fewer bodies up here, but it was more graphic and unsightly. Instead of being charred bone with little flesh, these bodies were burnt flesh with bits of bone.

Upon the bodies, he found more mana burns, along with several lacerations; some contained obvious signs of blunt trauma. They were shallow and small.

Then there was the body of the High Priest. The Archmage was glad his young apprentices were downstairs. His body was mutilated and torn to shreds. Smashed to shreds, would be a more accurate term, really. Definitely an act of hate.

The investigative team soon met back at the main chamber of the church, the chapel.

"What did you find?" The Archmage asked.

"The fire definitely started downstairs," The Eldest Apprentice reported, her voice certain, "In the library."

"Not a single book or parchment was spared," The Younger Apprentice reported, his voice a little hoarse; this was his first field assignment, "It's impressive that the entire building is still standing, with the condition the foundation is in."

"There were also signs of looting," The Eldest said, "Could it have been the slaves?"

"I think not," The Archmage stated, "Reports from the guards indicated that the fleeing slaves were terrified, and none had anything of value on their persons." None would say anything either. Too terrified of what happened and too angry at the Kingdom to cooperate. Understandable. If there was one thing the Archmage didn't agree with about the Kingdom, it was the policy on slavery.

"Bandits, then?" A Royal Knight suggested, "The fire may have caught their attention; it's not unlike their kind to take advantage of a situation like this."

"Not a bad guess, but no," The Archmage dismissed the possibility, "We are too deep in the Kingdom's territory. Bandits in this region have been nearly cleared out for decades."

"What do you think happened then, Mage?" The oldest and most experienced Royal Knight asked. He and the Archmage were old friends and rivals, and had been on many assignments together.

"The fire originated in the library, and was a product of some kind of magic," He began, "But it started after everyone had been killed. All the slaves were freed, and the building had been looted quite thoroughly. An initial guess, the identity of our perpetrator is an enemy of the Holy Church. Someone who holds a grudge. The body of the High Priest was brutally mangled and trodden. It could be a relative of someone he condemned to damnation, execution, or slavery."

"However," He gazed around him as he spoke, gesturing to the walls, "These specific burns; notice the slightly cracked, soft red pattern they give off; this was the work of a powerful magic," He then gestured to one of the less charred bodies, "Then the lacerations and blunt trauma we observe. A small dagger or club is not an uncommon thing for a mage to carry, but it was used far too often for a mere magic caster." His gaze turned upward.

"Then there is the body of the High Priest," He continued, "It avoided the worst of the flames, and the nature of his wounds lead me to abandon all past theories. Whatever happened here was not done by human hands."

This caused everyone in the vicinity to tense. The Royal Knights especially.

"What was it, then?" The old knight asked with a dark expression.

"I am unsure," The Archmage said, "It has claws, and an ability to shoot a beam of pure destruction magic; but it's also small. No bigger than a cat or dog. Given the blatant aggressiveness of the attack, and the nature of the damage, I'd guess it was a monster of some sort."

"What?" The Younger Apprentice's mouth dropped, "A monster of this caliber this far into the Kingdom's territory?"

"Yes," The grand wizard replied, "Though it is not in the nature of a monster to free people and not devour or kidnap them…so it also could have been a demon."

"Either way," The old knight said, brandishing a massive sword, "We'd better keep our guard up. Let us return to the king."

"Aye."

With that, the investigative party returned to the capital city, swapping tales and theories of demons and monsters in their midst.

A/N:

Now, some may not be happy with the way this chapter played out, but bear with it. I did this on purpose and with a goal in mind; several in fact. I know these first ten chapters or so have seemed slow, but now things will start speeding up. Oh, and by popular demand, unless you want and say otherwise, most dungeon and leveling will be summarized unless it holds a significant part in the story. Also, after this chapter I'm thinking of changing the rating. Let me know what you think.
