Long ago there was a wise man who said: 'Sometimes it's better to wait for something to happen and then think about what to do next.' Whoever that wise man was, because his name didn't make it into the history books, Henry Stickmin agrees with him in only one thing.

And that is waiting.

Henry was limited to performing said action in that depressing space with four walls for a long time. He begins to believe he would wait for all eternity until the jailer of the complex returns for him.

Grigori Olyat throws Henry into another environment unceremously, the same one he offers to every criminal who ends up within these walls located at the end of the world. Finishing with the order gave by his superior, Grigori closes the door and leaves.

Henry stands up, a little sore, taking a look at his 'room' so to speak. It wasn't something new; in fact, it reminds him in a certain way of the cell where he was imprisoned during his stay in West Mesa, except this time he does have a real mattress.

This doesn't mean Henry Stickmin has given up. No way he will accept the fact of being one more prisoner of the Wall, much less being the war trophy of that creepy old man. With the right tools, and a lot of luck, Henry shall be leaving the compound before the sun rises. Just as he is going to get to work on his escape plan, Henry hears something in the hallway.

If Henry is correct, the sound is footsteps coming in the distance towards his cell. As they advance, the footsteps grow louder when they suddenly stop at the door. Curious, Henry slowly approaches, resting his head on the metal surface hoping to find out what's going on outside.

Whatever the answer Henry was seeking he finds it in the form of the door being flung open to make way for an individual who is roughly shoved by Dimitri's bodyguard, taking Henry down in the mean time.

And who could that person be? Well, no one but a woman

The same red-haired woman who was previously held in the other room when Henry was brought to the Wall. Only she was taken away first before him, and again Grigori brings her back as if by fate.

Speaking of Olyat. "You will keep each other company until further notice, but don't go to enjoy it. Don't even start getting affectionate like rabbits."

A comment in bad taste said by the Soviet without losing the cold and hard tone of voice that characterizes him; and just as he came, Olyat left the convicts locked up. The redhead sits up leaning on her knee, glaring at the door.

"Tch, jerk…" Says the female. After calming down, she lowers her gaze realizing who she is sitting on.

"Oops… sorry. I didn't notice you were down there. Here, let me help you."

Extending her hand, the lady lifts Henry up, and herself as well. Now they are facing each other, the redhead recognizes Henry.

"Hey, aren't you by any chance the same guy who was with me in that horrible room before I got transferred?"

Henry Stickmin nods in affirmation.

"Heh, I'll be damned. I didn't expect to see a familiar face again so soon. It's good that the cell where I was going to be blocked up had a problem with the toilet; I won't go into details because it was pretty gross to tell.

I'm Ellie Rose. You can call me Ellie."

"Henry."

"Well Henry, nice to meet you." Ellie shakes her hand in a friendly manner. "So…why did they drag you to this site?"

The reason for his arrest and subsequent imprisonment is a question with multiple alternatives to which Henry Stickmin wouldn't know – or couldn't – answer taking into account his peculiar background. He would still try to answer Ellie Rose's question as much as he could.

"…umm…"

"Don't worry, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Ellie assures him. "If I could tell you all the things I've done to end up here, but you won't like to know. Trust me."

From the way she expressed herself, Henry decides to take her advice and not ask questions about it. The last thing he wants right now is to take a brutal beating for meddling where it's none of his business.

Ellie takes the floor again. "Anyway. It won't be long before that moron comes back for me and, this time, locks me up for life. There has to be a way to get out of this dump."

For some reason a feeling of sympathy begins to well up from deep within Henry. He can see in Ellie the same yearning he does; and that's freedom. Without having to think twice, Henry Stickmin decides to offer his unconditional help to the redhead in her escape from The Wally. There was no reason to leave her alone to her fate.

Also, as another saying goes: Two heads think better than one.

Thus, the now already friends begin to search in all corners of the cell for some tool that will help them in their mission, or perhaps a weak point in the structure they can take advantage of.

So far… nothing.

Digging under the mattress in the cell, the inmates pull out a block of stone, although judging by the appearance of the object it's not like any other they have seen.

The object itself is made up of pixels, just like in video games. This reminds them of one fantasy mining game that fascinates everyone nowdays. Crazy, huh?

It is then that in a sudden sequence of mental synchronization both prisoners come to the same idea and start to remove more pixelated blocks, as many as they can in the shortest possible time.

As Henry and Ellie accumulate the objects, they arrange them in such a way they give their work the appearance of a geometric frame. The result is a well that should function as a portal to somewhere else; at least that happens in the game.

And surprisingly a light emerges from inside the rectangular well. Henry and Ellie were satisfied with their work, but there was no time to celebrate. Immediately the allied convicts jump into the portal before Grigori or another guard comes, disappearing on the spot as well as the pixelated portal leaving the room completely empty.

A young adult, in blue shoes and a hat of the same color with an insignia in the shape of three Cs interposed, pours himself a cup of coffee on his way back to the small desk where his laptop is placed to continue working within the small space wich is his office.

It's the daily routine Kyle Baxter, a member of the Chaos Containment Center, has been carrying out since he arrived as a liaison between his organization and The Wall according to an agreement established by both institutions for a salary less than those received by low-ranking employees of the complex.

Anyone would quit under these conditions, but Kyle doesn't seem to mind.

"Well Kyle, a few more hours and you'll go home and rest up to come back here tomorrow morning," he says to himself. "It's tedious, not to say exhausting… mediocre… or depressing… However, this gives me a great advantage… and is I won't have to deal with any chaotic event that puts my life at risk.

To tell the truth, nothing extraordinary ever happened in this place and I hope it will always stay that way."

If Baxter hadn't said those words because nothing warned him about a portal appearing out of nowhere on the roof of his office where Henry and Ellie fall through from. Instead of taking the CCC agent down as should be expected, they puff him out on contact, scattering his belongings everywhere.

Ellie Rose takes a look around the office. "Hmm… it's not what I had in mind, but I have to look at it on the bright side. At least we don't end up in some isolated environment filled with infected prisoners; that would have been an epic fail."

Henry couldn't agree as much with his mate as now. The only thing left for them is to continue their escape route if they don't want to be recaptured.

Looking around, Henry Stickmin finds the mobile phone of the now-missing Kyle. Picking it up off the floor, he checks the device is still operational.

This gives him an idea.

He quickly presses the buttons on the keyboard and brings the phone up to his head. Ellie doesn't take long to figure out Henry's scheme: he wants to contact an acquaintance of his to come and rescue them.

A bold idea, although quite risky, considering the place where they are located is quite protected. Anyway, she just hopes that Henry's contact is someone legit.

After five minutes a voice is heard from the telephone receiver.
