Brief History:
Born on Patch in the West Blue, Yang was the first child of Xiao Long Tai and his wife Raven who would abandon the family shortly after Yang's birth for unknown reasons and who's current location is unknown but believed to be somewhere in the New World. That void was filled by their mutual friend and the Captain of their now retired pirate crew Rose Summer who eventually began a relationship with Tai leading to a daughter, Ruby, so Yang is only half sister to her Captain. Not that that bothers them as Yang, according to reports, considers Summer her real mother.
As with her sister, there really isn't much to say about Yang's past, she grew up in a peaceful and uneventful place in the West Blue and was raised by 2 former pirates. With her mother's disappearance at a young age and their father's depression from it, the duty of keeping the family together fell on Yang and it's from that that she learned her cooking skills. Her father did teach her hand to hand combat, something he was noted for in his pirate days, and which she uses to great effect in combination with her unique weapon and Devil Fruit power, both of which are still unknown as to how she acquired them.
The training turned out to be of use after an incident on Patch where Ruby foiled an attempt by the Warlord Torchwick Roman to take control of the island forced the girls to take to the seas as pirates. From there they were involved in a handful of incidents involving the Schnee Corporation that ultimately culminated in the exposure of the company's many crimes in a way that the World Government couldn't cover up. Notably this was the incident that led the then heiress of the Schnee Corporation to joining their crew as their 4th member and the official confirmation of their crew's name and Captain.
In the wake of this, Ruby earned her first bounty and they decided to head to the Grand Line where they continued to recruit members, cause chaos, and escalated their accidental war with the Torchwick Pirates. During the war Yang earned her first bounty of 35 million berries following an incident where she single handedly attacked and then blew up a club that was doubling as a front for Torchwick's underground activities. This jumped to 90 following the final confrontation of the war that led to the exposure of Torchwick's many abuses of power and his subsequent arrest and stripping of his title.
From there the Rose Pirates made their way to Sabaody and arrived on the island around the same time as the Straw Hats. Following another bar explosion incident that Yang was involved in, she, along with her Captain and two crewmates were present at the Employment Office for Straw Hat's actions regarding Saint Charloss.
Yang, along with her crew, would escape the attempt to arrest those involved though how they managed it is still being investigated and the Rose Pirates are currently believed to be enroute to the New World. Because of her bounty she is not a Super Rookie and thus is not a member of the Worst Generation like her sister and Captain is but she should be considered dangerous.
