Last Time: Gennai told our heroes about a prophecy, and then it all started coming true! Bats appeared in the sky, and the adults started acting like zombies and chanting Myotismon's name. Then, Myotismon himself came back, bigger and better than ever. Finally, the heroes figured out that Matt and Tai had to let themselves get zapped with arrows of light. At the same time, Ash and Lillie did their Z-moves to allow Agumon, Falcomon, and Gabumon to digivolve to their Mega-levels! What will happen in this battle: Find out Now:

Chapter 9: VenomMyotismon's Defeat: Problems continue to mount: Goku is revived

Everyone was in awe of the newly digivolved partners. Izzy looked them up on his computer. "Agumon is now WarGreymon. His attack is Terra Force, gathering the energy around him and focusing it in the palm of his hand! Gabumon is now MetalGarurumon: His Metal Wolf Claw attack shoots a powerful cold blast at his enemies, freezing them solid, and then he blows them to pieces! Falcomon is now Ravemon: His black wing conceals him while his white wing slices through his enemies! He has more attacks than all his other levels combined! They digivolved into their Mega Digimon forms!"

"We'll need them to beat VenomMyotismon," Lillie pointed out.

Matt and Tentomon nodded. "Good luck. I'll stay here until I'm needed."

WarGreymon gathered energy around his body and slammed into VenomMyotismon, knocking him back. "Way to go WarGreymon! You creamed him...I think..." Izzy said, uncertainty in his voice. The four Mega Digimon continued to fight, moving further away from the area. The group followed in the van.

"Get after him, WarGreymon, Tai shouted.

"Put his lights out," Kari cheered.

"Ice Wolfclaw!" MetalGarurumon shouted, firing missiles at VenomMyotismon, which froze him solid.

"Spiral Raven Claw," Ravemon shouted, raising the sharp nails on its left arm and then performing a rotating charge at VenomMyotismon, freeing him from the ice. Unfortunately, there wasn't a scratch on him.

"Your miserable attempts to destroy me have failed! Now you will pay, VenomMyotismon shouted. He then fired powerful beams from his eyes, one of which was aimed at the Van.

Everybody out! Get clear of the van," Hiroaki yelled.

The van was knocked over. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt. Hiroaki helped Masami out of the van, while Nancy helped Kae.

In the Dragonball Z Universe

On the planet of the Kais, Goku watched the fight in the crystal ball, hands clenched. "I wish I could help."

Shin gave an understanding smile. "I completely understand Goku. Even if you weren't dead, it's in another dimension." Goku groaned in frustration.

"Perhaps I can assist with that," a deep voice said. The three watching the crystal ball turned. Shin and Kabito's jaws dropped in shock and fear. Old Kai closed the comic he was reading.

Shin bowed low. "Lord Beerus, my apologies for not having anything for you to eat. I was not expecting you."

Beerus waved Shin off. "I ate already while learning about the dimensional issue, but the thought is appreciated."

Goku stepped forward towards Beerus, which made Shin, Kabito, and the Old Kai nervous. "So it's an issue from the Universe Ash was sent to protect, and that's causing issues, huh?"

Beerus nodded. "Indeed, I must say it's a pleasure to meet you, Son Goku, or if I were to use your birthname, Kakarot. I must say thank you for defeating Frieza."

Goku chuckled, "Hey, don't worry about it." He then changed his focus to the issue of the Dimensions. "So I guess you'll help my son deal with this dimensional threat." Beerus nodded and explained how Team Rocket pulled the caper off. "That's pretty clever. Let the other evil teams fall at the hands of my son and his allies. Then, while everyone is cleaning up the damage that was done, offer to clean out the enemy's base disguised and steal the enemy's tech to bolster your own, all while staying off the grid," Goku said, a hand on his chin.

"That's actually ingenious," Gohan commented from where he sat.

Beerus was impressed that these Saiyans had understood the problem so quickly. These 2 are definitely much more intelligent than most Saiyans I've come across, the God of Destruction thought. Beerus turned to the Old Kai. Finish unlocking Goku's eldest son's power." Beerus turned to Whis and nodded. Whis nodded and twirled his staff. The orb glowed. Whis pointed it at Goku, who glowed for a second, and then Goku's halo vanished. The kai's jaws dropped: The God of Destruction had ordered Goku's revival.

Goku was stunned. "Are you asking me to come with you?" Beerus nodded. Goku grinned, "Understood, Lord Beerus." Goku turned to Gohan. "Gohan, I will be back as soon as possible and bring your twin brother home." Gohan nodded in understanding as he and the Old Kai returned to what they were doing. Beerus put his hand on Whis' shoulder, and Goku followed suit. Whis reactivated his Warp technique, and the 3 of them were now headed to assist Ash. Shin and Kabito returned their attention to the crystal ball to watch the fight with VenomMyotismon.

Back in the Digimon Universe

Joe, Mimi Sora, and their Digimon were watching the fight when Jim came out to see how things were going.

"Jim, how's Dad? Is there any improvement on those inside," Joe asked. Jim shook his head.

Gomamon was fed up with sitting on the sidelines. "All right, I'm tired of fooling around! We have to defeat Myotismon once and for all!"

Mimi nodded in agreement, surprising everyone. "Our parents always protected us. Now it's time we came through for them!"

Palmon was impressed. "I'm ready to fight Mimi."

Biyomon nodded in agreement. "I'm ready to go as well."

Sora turned to her partner. "Really?" Biyomon put on a fierce look, showing her determination.

Sora nodded, knowing there was no way to stop her.

Joe was nervous, considering how rounds 1 and 2 went against Myotismon. "We already tried, and even with everyone there, he still nearly won."

Gomamon jumped onto Joe's head. "So we'll keep on trying, Joe! Because Digimon never gives up. Like they always say, all for mon and mon for all! Also, Ash's Pokémon fought with everything they had."

Joe nodded and turned towards the fight. "You're right! We can do it! Let's end this, guys!" Joe said as he ran off towards the battlefield.

Sora turned to Jim. "You'll have to excuse Joe. He's a little hyperactive." She runs off, following Joe.

Mimi turned to Jim. "Please take care of my parents, Jim." (She runs after both of them)

Jim shook his head. "Good luck, you guys."

VenomMyotismon was now firing power beams from his groin.

Tai was looking for his sister, worried for her safety. "Kari!"

WarGreymon was swatted away by one of VenomMyotismon's huge arms.

Hearing her brother cry, Kari responds, "Where are you, Tai?"

Angewomon was hit by falling rubble.

"Get'm, Angemon!" T.K. said to his partner Digimon.

Angemon gets hit by a massive hand and smashed into a wall. He slides down as Izzy's parents look on in horror.

Izzy ran towards his parents. "Mom! Dad! I'm coming!"

Tentomon turned and saw the other Digimon. "Look, Izzy, all the others have digivolved too! There's Ikakkumon, Togemon, and Birdramon! I'm going in!

Tentomon Digivolve to...Kabuterimon.

WarGreymon took charge as the partner of the DigiDestend's leader. "Everyone, attack at the same time!"

Togemon started things off as she fired her attack. "Ok, how 'bout a little Needle Spray!"

"Harpoon Torpedo!"

"Meteor Wing!"

"Electro Shocker!"

"Hand of Fate!"

"Celestial Arrow!"

"Giga Missile!" MetalGarurumon fired a missile from his chest.

"Celestial Blade" Ravemon released a blade of dark lightning of tremendous destructive power and fired it at VenomMyotismon.

All of the attacks hit VenomMyotismon's groin.

WarGreymon decided to capitalize on all of the damage. "And now, to wind things up!" (He spun himself into a tornado.) "Nova Force."

VenomMyotismon sunk to his knees in pain as WarGreymon busted a hole straight through his groin.

Hiroaki was still holding a panting Masami, Kae was standing next to her husband. "That did it."

Sora wasn't sure as VenomMyotismon had not fallen flat down. Her fears were correct as VenomMyotismon roared.

VenomMyotismon roared in laughter. "You think you can defeat me? You've only awakened the beast within!"

Lillie hugged Ash in fear.

Out of VenomMyotismon's groin pops an ugly black creature wearing Myotismon's mask.

Mimi screamed in horror. Tai was stunned. "What is that thing?"

The small creature shot out dark rings of power, Sending all the Digimon flying. They all landed on the ground hard.

Tai rushed over to his fallen partner. "WarGreymon!"

VenomMyotismon continued to laugh, "Now, to devour all you so-called digi-destined! You've stood in my way for the last time!"

Ash glared at VenomMyotismon. "This isn't over. Everyone think about your crests maybe activating them will slow him down."

Mimi, Sora, Joe, Izzy, T.K., Kari, and Matt closed their eyes in concentration. I will never give up, Tai yelled mentally. Suddenly, Tai's Crest glowed, as did everyone else's. Light shoots from them and ties VenomMyotismon up. Ash and Lillie focus on Ash's aura, which manifests and creates a ninth binding on VenomMyotismon, who roars in pain.

"Curse you digi-destined! Curse you and your lousy Crests! Let go! Let go," the small, violent creature screamed.

Tai was stunned that it was talking. Look at that! Mega-freaky!"

Lillie snapped her fingers in realization. "That monster must represent Myotismon's actual form."

Tai's eyes opened in shock. "WarGreymon," he called to his Digimon.

WarGreymon knew they had to act fast as he turned to MetalGarurumon. "Pass me the fallen piece of the T.V. Station that looks like a ball. I have a plan."

MetalGarurumon nodded and threw the ball of the T.V. station towards WarGreymon.

Sora cheers at this. "Nice pass.

"Take the shot," Everyone yells. Ash turns to Lillie, who steps back, knowing what Ash wants to do.

WarGreymon throws the ball at the beast. It hits him, stunning him.

"Terra Force!

"Metal Wolfclaw!"

"Celestial Blade!"

Ash Powered up his new attack. "THIS IS FOR WIZARDMON, AND THIS TIME STAY DEAD YOU B***! KAMEHAMEHA!"

The four attacks hit VenomMyotismon writhes in pain as he slowly dissolves into digi-dust.

Everyone cheered that the fight was over.

On the Supreme Kai Planet, Kabito and Shin smirked, seeing that the fight was over. At the same time, Goku Whis and Berrus watched the fight via the orb on Whis' staff.

At the convention center, everyone was now awake.

"What happened," Susumu Kamiya asked groggily.

Jim pumped his fist. "It must be Joe and the others! They did it! They won!"

Everyone celebrates as Agumon Gabumon and Patamon are now in their In-Training Level forms. Gatomon had reverted to her Rookie level.

"Huh, did Myotismon have an extra Digimon captured," Mimi asked upon seeing Salamon.

"Don't you recognize me, Mimi? I was Gatomon; what do I have to do? Cough up a furball," the unknown Digimon said with a pout.

"This is Salamon, the Rookie form of Gatomon. Isn't she cute? Much more cuddly than her Ultimate form of Angewomon. But she's back to being a Rookie because she used up all her energy during the fight. What are we going to do? They don't allow pets in our apartment, Kari explained to the others.

"If they don't allow Pets, why do the Kamiyas have Miko?" Lillie whispered to Ash, who had to admit that Lillie had a fair question.

"Hey, look! The sky's clearing up," Sora said with a smile. But it vanished when she didn't see the sunset. The sky had been broken apart into strips - half normal sky-at-night, half weird floating island. There are many mountain peaks on this island.

"What the heck, Ash said, shocked at what he was seeing.

That's...not possible! There's a giant island floating in the sky...upside down, Joe stammered.

Things keep getting weirder, Tai said, shaking his head and making sure his eyes were not playing tricks on him.

"Hey, what's going on," Susumu asked as he walked outside and saw the mess in the sky.

"Whatever it is, we need to figure this out quickly, Jim said, getting on his helmet.

"Jim, have you seen my children? Do you know where Tai and Kari are," Yuuko Kamiya asked.

"No, but I have an educated guess. I'm going to search where the monsters were fighting! I'll come back when I find them, ok. With that, Jim rode off to see Joe.

"This isn't making any sense! It looks like an entire upside-down continent in the sky. But it doesn't appear on any radar or satellite pictures. In fact, no instruments of any kind can confirm that whatever it is is really even there," Izzy said explaining about reports coming in about the abnormality.

Suddenly, the group heard beeping coming from Ash's pocket. Lillie paled, knowing what was coming. Kari turned to Tai. "What's wrong with Lillie?"

"Her mother takes overprotectiveness to a whole new level," Tai responded. Kari's eyebrows rose in skepticism.

Ash answered the Rotom Phone. "LILLIE SWEETIE ARE YOU OKAY I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT YOU FOR 12 HOURS." Everyone flinched at Lusamine's loud volume.

"MOTHER, please calm down," Lillie sighed in exasperation. Lillie explained everything that had happened.

Lusamine gave her daughter a stern look. Lillie, what were you thinking fighting a vampire monster? You should've left it to Ash. That goes double for what's."

"MOTHER, DON'T SAY I NEED TO SIT OUT OF THE UPCOMING BATTLES," Lillie shouted. "I'M NOT GOING TO SIT BACK AND LET ASH RISK HIS LIFE ALONE." Lillie's patience was running thin at being treated like a child, so she hung up the call. Ash rubbed Lillie's back, trying to calm her down. "I'm not gonna be a trophy wife," Lillie angrily huffed. Ash kissed her, which helped Lillie calm down.

"You weren't joking," Kari muttered to Tai, who laughed nervously.

"Check this out, guys. I've been monitoring the news reports. The Air Force is sending in everything they've got to figure out what this continent in the sky is. They don't know anything so far, but they're assuming it's dangerous," Izzy told the group.

To prove his point, a fighter jet hits the continent and crashes to the ground in the sky.

"I'm a little jealous that Matt, TK, and Izzy's parents are here. I hope my mom and dad are all right." Sora nodded and then pointed out Jim heading their way.

"I didn't tell Jim that he could ride my scooter without me," Joe complained.

Jim pulled up and parked Joe's scooter. All the other families at the convention center are fine—they're all back to normal!

At this news, everyone celebrates.

Jim brought out a portable T.V. Let's check the news!

"The latest reports we have from the Air Force chief of staff confirm that the mysterious landmass in the sky is not an illusion of any kind. It is genuine and, after several confrontations, apparently very dangerous."

"No surprise there," Lillie muttered.

"Myotismon again," Matt questioned.

"I highly doubt it," Ash said with a scowl.

"Well, you heard the news reports. It's definitely dangerous. Who else could be doing it," Joe questioned.

"Team Rocket," Sora said aloud.

"This seems a bit above their talents," Ash said, and Lillie agreed with him.

Izzy suddenly thought he recognized one of the mountains in the sky. "Wait a second! That peak? It looks like Infinity Mountain!" Izzy turned to Tai. "Hey, Tai, grab your telescope and get us a clear peek at that peak right there!"

Tai did so. "Which one, Izzy?"

Izzy raises a gloved finger. "There! The big one I'm pointing to! It took Tai a few minutes, but he saw what Izzy was talking about, which was a potential disaster.

"Woah, I see what you mean, Izzy, and there's a jetliner headed right for it, Tai exclaimed."

An airplane was flying perilously close to the continent in the sky. The plane's engines froze as it approached the mountain's peak, causing it to plummet.

"Oh no! The plane reached the edge of that mountain in the sky and just headed straight down," Tai said, worried about the passengers on the plane.

Sora turned to her partner, who nodded in understanding.

"We've got to pull out! We'll break up at this speed," the plane pilot said, struggling to save the plane.

Birdramon flew up toward the plane. "If I can get there in time... "she thought out loud. Unfortunately, trouble appeared, and Kuwagamon flew out of the continent.

"What the?" Ash began.

"Where'd that come from," Lillie asked, shocked at the insect Digimon's appearance.

"It's Kuwagamon! Where did he come from?" Birdramon asked. Kuwagamon flew by the plane, causing its right wing to turn to stone.

Birdramon collides with the plane to try to slow it down, resting it on her back. However, the plane proves too heavy for her, and she cries out in pain.

Birdramon, You need to Digivolve, Sora shouted as her crest glowed.

"Birdramon digivolve to…Garudamon."

Tentomon had digivolved to Kabuterimon to help Garudamon." I'm coming to help. Kuwagamon appeared again, flying by. "I don't think so, Kuwagamon Electro Shocker," Kabuterimon fired his attack at The Electro Shocker and passed through Kuwagamon as if he wasn't there. "It went right through!"

"Kabuterimon, getaway! Don't touch him," Garudamon shouted.

Kabuterimon dodged Kuwagamon. Izzy's crest glowed, and Kabuterimon digivolved into MegaKabuterimon and helped bring the plane safely into the river.

Nice going, guys. You brought the plane down safely, Tai thought.

As the plane's occupants were ferried to shore in life rafts, Garudamon and MegaKabuterimon flew back to others and de-digivolved to Yokomon and Motimon. No one noticed that one of the men in the raft, an elderly man holding onto a box with the name Hiroki Hida on it, was watching the Digimon intently with a look of recognition in his eyes.

"Guys, how'd Kuwagamon get here, Tai asked

"He came out of that land in the sky," Yokomon answered.

"I was right all along! That giant continent is actually the Digital World,"

"Are you sure," Ash asked the computer genius, who nodded.

"That's why you recognized that mountain," Matt said, snapping his fingers.

"Yeah, it does look sorta familiar," Mimi said.

"What's it doing here," Sora asked.

"Good question," Lillie muttered.

" Uh, Guys, you'd better have a look at this," Jim said. Everyone turns to Jim's pocket T.V.

A gorilla-like Digimon is on the rampage in a place filled with skyscrapers, while Tyrannomon, Kuwagamon, and another Digimon are seen around some major world landmarks.

"No official explanation has been given for what we are seeing here, but many monsters have been spotted worldwide, " the newscaster on the screen said.

"How's that giant bug moving around so fast, and why didn't Electro Shocker," work Motimon asked.

"I'm more worried that we'll freeze up like the airplane did," Yokomon said, worry in her voice.

"Salamon is that your world up there," Kari asked her partner.

"I think so, but the last time I was there, it was definitely right side up," Salamon answered as Falcomon spoke up.

"I confirm what Salamon is saying is correct," said Falcomon. "That is 100% The Digital World."

"Just a minute - we've been back in the real world for only a few days, but up there, time is much faster - years and years have passed," Izzy said, realizing the problem

"And since we left the Digital World when it was such a mess, it had years and years to just get worse! I can only imagine what the place looks like now," Koromon said.

"And all the problems in the Digital World have become our problem here in the real world, Sora said.

"OH, TERRIFIC," Pikachu muttered. Snowy echoed Pikachu's statement.

"We all have to go back. You're coming, right Ash," Tai asked. Ash nodded to answer Tai's question.

"But how? How are we supposed to get there," Mimi asked.

"The first time we went to the Digital World, our Digivices led us. You guys try it again," Joe said.

Izzy scoffed at Joe's cowardice. "You're coming too, Joe - we're all in this together," Izzy said to Joe.

"All right, everybody, hold out your Digivices. We're going back! Next stop, the Digital World! Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times! Here we go, everybody," Tai said.

Rainbow light shines down from the Digital World. The Digi-destined are standing in a circle around its edge.

"It's working, Tai. This light must be here to guide us," Izzy said

"Now all we have to do is follow it," Joe said.

"Time to go back to the Digital World," T.K. said.

Ash turned to Lillie, who nodded, showing she was ready to go.

With Beerus and Whis and Goku

"Whis, how long til we reach this Digital world? Should we change course right now," Beerus asked the angel.

Whis looked at his staff. "By my calculations, we will arrive there in 3 hours should we change course now as opposed to the 6 hours if we go to where the fight took place, my lord. You want to change course."

"Indeed! Set course for this Digital World," Beerus ordered

Whis nodded and changed directions.

Back in the Digimon Universe

Nancy tried to protest both of her kids leaving, but Hiroaki convinced her to let them go.

"You guys better get cracking. However, it's hard to believe the fate of the world is in the hands of a bunch of kids like you. If the sun doesn't come up tomorrow, we know you messed up," Jim joked.

Kae turns on Jim with an angry look on her face. "Stop it. You've got to have faith in your brother and his friends. What they're doing is incredibly brave."

Jim raised his hand in self-defense. "It's okay, Mrs. Izumi. He was only kidding. And besides, I'm going to make sure the sun does come up," Joe said confidently.

"Joe, I didn't know you had it in you," Sora joked.

Joe stepped into the light and began to float up into the air!

"All right, here we go, everyone," Tai ordered.

Everyone else stepped into the light and floats.

"Matt! T.K.! Take care of each other," Nancy called.

"Sora! I love you, Sora! Please come home soon! I'll be waiting here for you," Toshiko called to her daughter. Sora teared up, sad she had to leave so soon after her relationship with her mother had been repaired.

"Bye, mama," Sora called.

"Mama! Papa! I will be back as soon as possible," Mimi called to her parents.

"Bye, Dad," Tai called, and at the same time, Kari shouted, "Bye, mama!"

"Oh, Tai, be careful, Yuuko cried.

"And take care of your sister, son," Susumu ordered.

"I'll be all right! Don't worry, we'll all be back," Kari called to her father.

Ash turned to Pikachu, Falcomon, Lillie, and Snowy who all had a look of determination on their faces.

I never thought we'd volunteer to leave our families behind. It's weird. I'm unsure if we'll ever see them again, but I'm not afraid. It's like just knowing that they love us gives up the power that we need, Tai thought as they entered the Digital World again.

The kids vanished, not noticing a man glaring at them with a sinister look on his face staring at where they had been. He left knowing he had much work to do to enter the Digital World.
