Making the decision not to hide my powers would bring more questions than answers, I even asked myself some of them: Does The Elder Scrolls saga exist here? Has 6 been released? The 6 is a Skyrim 2?. And if I include more video games… Does Halo exist? Someone will have created a weapon inspired by that saga?
Among many others if those games exist… How did the Dragonborn come to this world? And the most important… why?
Having demonstrated my skills was something that would happen if. It's time to take the consequences, so after finishing with the Geth, I turned to the commander, introducing myself.
"It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Mijael" I extended my hand for a handshake, but only went pointing for Ashley's gun. "I see all caution is in short supply…"
For good measure, Shepard calmed her down, waving his hands and then accepting my greeting. But he didn't know I used magic to learn English fast "I am Commander Shepard, Alliance, Are you a civilian?"
Before I opened my mouth, Harriet spoke for me, explaining what had happened when she encountered me.
"He found us, wiping out the Geth as he went, looking for survivors. We moved from here and there, ever onward" she said hugging her daughter, clinging to that last bit she had left "He's Alliance, just like you."
~"And here we go…"~
"Is that right? Some special project of enhanced super soldiers?"~ Ashley used a sarcastic tone. She was still distrustful of me, and I could tell at that moment how she had his hand on the trigger of her gun. "You may have saved Nireli, but who knows what other intentions you have."
~"Nirali? That name doesn't ring a bell"~
Speaking of Nirali, she was lying on some rocks still unconscious, being tended to by Kaidan who was surprised to see how she was completely healthy despite the armor being nearly destroyed. He got up and joined our group to give a small report.
"This is strange, commander. Nirali clinically must be dead, she received such a burst of gunfire that destroyed part of her armor" Showing a hologram with his Omni-Tool, he was seen scanning Nirali's body on this very one "And of course the flesh, but there is nothing, juat a few scar."
Except to me, the situation was unreal to the 4 of them, until Harriet made a statement that to her was silly, but it was the answer.
"It looks like magic" she chuckled, incredulous. She hadn't given much thought to what I was doing to take down the Geth, or how I did to heal Nirali so quickly.
A deep sigh and a smile of feigned guilt "Indeed… it is" I said, displaying the 3 elements of the school of destruction on my arms positioned as a cross on my chest. "But do they want to keep wasting time here? Or wipe out the Geth?"
The unreal situation created right here hit all 4 of us: Geths, The destruction of a colony and now magic. Anyone would have gone mad, but not them.
"You'll owe us some answers" Shepard said towards me. I just nodded with acquired confidence.
With nothing else to do but continue, Shepard told Kaidan to stay behind to take care of the survivors. Kaidan agreed.
Ahsley on the other hand was assigned to accompany the commander to the remainder of the mission as well as me.
~"Aaaahh! MY FIRST MISSION WITH THE COMMANDER"~
On the outside I looked normal, but inside I was acting like a little girl who was given everything I asked for. A scream of inner rage that increased with every step next to the commander.
Luck smiled on us because Nihlus had wiped out the Husk and Geths from the place where he was supposed to die. Instead Powell died, the gentleman who falls asleep before the Geth attack.
Seeing his corpse gave me a bit of a shock, it only caught my attention that in his hand he still had the contraband grenade, so I took it for myself.
~"Let's see how it works…"~
As we hurried our pace, a sound of gunshots was heard almost at the end of the bridge where we witnessed how Nihlus was taking cover against a Geth Destroyer that was guarding the freight train, from where more and more Geth were coming. That made me realice something
~"Wait, there's nothing here to trigger the events, everything is still going on… That means the bombs are activated!"~
Just as we reached the long ramp down, I froze the railing to create a slippery track that would take us to Nihlus.
"You guys know how to skate?". Being the first one up to continue contracting the track, I used the bodies of the Geth that Shepard and Kaidan were leaving on the ground, functioning as projectiles with my Telekinesis, impacting against the Destroyer.
After a few seconds of using magic, shots came from behind me that were aimed at helping Nihlus, who was looking at us with his jaw wide open, and his eyes so big that he no longer looked Turian.
Of course the Geth wouldn't stand around like an idiot, so he launched bursts of Carnage in our direction. We managed to evade them all by creating the ice track like a snake, left to right.
Near the end of the track, I took a leap with a Bound Battleaxe in my hands as its shields lowered, being the last thing the Geth saw before it was split head to toe, ending in a synthetic screech.
~"How I love this, it's the best!"~
But the joy fizzled out when I realized that I had also split part of the console that controlled the train, turning it to nothing but scrap metal.
"…"
"…"
"…"
"Sorry…"
Like a good soldier worth his salt, Nihlus pointed his gun at me, enraged by the events that were happening. Between knowing that his friend and mentor almost killed him and that I destroyed the only way to catch him, his patience had worn thin.
He began to shout words in a language I didn't understand at all, and touching him to learn his language wouldn't be possible because I would end up as a sieve first.
Putting himself in the middle of Nihlus and me, Shepard raised his hands to avoid any confrontation "Calm down everyone. We're on the same side!"
Nihlus responded but the only thing I could decipher was his anger, he looked like he wasn't buying it.
I had no choice but to tell the commander that I don't understand Nihlus, that I lack an Omni-Tool and the implants necessary to understand aliens in general. I also explained to Nihlus that I saved him, firing that purple arrow prevented the bullet from hitting its target.
Although the magic part I don't take well, I half accept the current situation. He then explained to Shepard what had happened.
Nihlus' mentor and friend had betrayed him by allying with the Geth on a mission to steal a Prothean beacon, bringing what they believe to be a prototype Geth ship (The Reaper).
If more to do, the commander asked me if I could use that ice path again, but I refused, explaining that we would need to be in a higher place to pick up speed.
"But there may be another method, we just need to stay on top of this platform and-"
Before I could continue, the commander received a call from Kaidan, taking it immediately.
It turned out that Nirali had already awakened, though she looked very disoriented and frightened, whispering many times that she had died.
Ashley stepped forward, wanting the commander's permission to check on her friend, after all they had known each other for some time and seeing a familiar face would relax her. The commander agreed.
Now it was just Shepard, Nihlus and me, together in this great adventure.
"So, about that plan of yours?"
"Right, I almost missed it" With hands emanating what was an orange mist, I wrapped the platform under our feet "Please hold on tight."
Without difficulty, I used my Telekinesis to wrench the platform out of place, steadying myself and setting a course for the area where the beacon was.
The trip was very short due to the speed I used, dropping the commander right at the location of the first bomb.
~"7 minutes! Originally it's 5"~
"Nihlus, you take care of this one, I'll go look to see if there are any others."
Here there was no rank to follow, the situation was life and death, so Nihlus followed the order.
"Commander, I'll go through the skies to locate the beacon" I said, rising a little at a time until I heard whether or not to deny.
"Understood."
Climbing up and up, I confirmed that we had arrived too early as I watched Saren board a Geth ship to take flight. So I took off against the ship.
Great would be my surprise that, before I could even get away from the beacon area, the beacon itself pulled me towards it, lowering me off the platform.
~Wait! This had to happen to the comman-"
My thoughts were replaced by a sharp pain, and the visions were not long in coming.
Death, destruction, the fate of the Protheans, it was all pain that grew greater as my mind struggled to attach vivid memories I had never experienced, it was a pain that would not let me think of anything else but that.
And among all that abyss of pain, the situation worsened when the beacon had left me in the target of the Geth that guarded the object.
Bloodied, with wounds all around my body, I fell into a pool of my own blood, but I was still conscious.
I turned a deaf ear, with my eyes clouded in red and my eyelids drooping, I got up little by little, still receiving punishment.
~"You haven't even taken the first step to save them, so don't give up… It's not for nothing that you were the hardest"~
My body began to burn, closing every wound caused in that instant. With my whole body being deformed into something bigger, stronger, fiercer… so strange that even the Geth stopped shooting.
All the skin on my body sloughed off, giving way to thick fur as dark as night, my jaw stretched into the shape of an animal's snout, my height grew considerably with the muscles being to their highest point.
It was not a painful sensation, it was beneficial to me, it was what I had chosen to be, what I had chosen to become, I was… a Werewolf.
With the fury of a beast, and the magic of an Archmage, I wrapped my claws in armor shattering lightning.
The Geth were programmed to kill humans, but what to do against a beast? No one expected it, there was no such thing in their data as what I was at that moment.
Between magical sparks and technological sparks, the ferocious beast sliced through everything synthetic in its path.
As much as I loved the Geth, there was no mercy against them at that moment. I tore, smash apart, bit and severed whatever was within my reach.
The adrenaline of battle kept me entertained, out of my mind for a few moments, which could have ended badly….
I heard footsteps behind me, and with the rage that characterized me at that moment, I turned around with my claws ready to cut, but I was stopped by the Carnage of two shotguns.
The first hit me full in the chest, knocking me back, and the second threw me backwards, but I was still conscious.
Before even falling backwards, with a quick movement of my arm, my body turned on its own, managing to stand on two legs, without pain from the muscles of my WereWolf form.
What I found in front of me was Commander Shepard and Nihlus, pointing their weapons at me. Their eyes held uncertainty and ferocity from encountering something unknown to them.
~"How many times have they already aimed at me? It's getting repetitive"~
The fact that they didn't keep firing at me told me only one thing: They know it's me.
But then was the first shot a warning or a mistake? Fear…
I raised my hands slowly, ducking my head to appear docile before them. At that moment I tried to articulate words that seemed to be corrupted by the thick throat of a WereWolf, raspy accompanied by small roars.
"Mi-mijael, I" Words almost unintelligible even to me, who sought to be able to speak in my transformations "Hard to speak. Beacon here. But…"
Looking at the Protean beacon, I was surprised that it was still intact, wondering to myself why it broke in the first place.
~"Does it have to do with mental strength? Or was it just codes on a console?"~
I moved to the side, slowly so as not to give a false alert that I was a danger to everyone "Beacon healthy. We-weapons down, please."
"Really it's you?" asked Shepard, lowering his weapon slowly.
I nodded quickly "Beast… form, me be able to control it. I'm not a-a-an enemy."
He struggled a bit with doubt, trusting in the end in his judgment that I wouldn't do anything, but remarking to me that I had a lot of explaining to do once the beacon was safe.
And here is something I already know, but with small differences, the first being me being the one who gets hit by the beacon.
The commander approached the artifact, calling by radio to Joker to warn that the beacon was safe but at that moment, the artifact, attracted him.
Nihlus saw this and acted quickly, running towards it to remove it. I interrupted him, running towards him and holding him from behind, trying to calm him down.
"Da-dangerous, do not interfere."
He struggled and struggled to get free, but there was little he could do against the strength of a WereWolf.
And so we both watched as the commander was attacked by the visions of the Proteans, by the message of their extinction, until the inevitable happened.
A green explosion shook the platform, dropping the unconscious commander and the pieces of the beacon to the ground. It was only then that I released him, acting surprised by what had just happened.
Without wasting any more time, Nihlus contacted Joker, informing him of the situation and ordering him to come as quickly as possible… Or so I think since I only understood the word Joker.
"Wait, the o-others… far behind" I said, touching Nihlus' shoulder and pointing to the place where Ashley and Kaidan were. "Go with them."
Just unfamiliar words, but this time calmer. Nihlus carried Shepard on his back, ready to go as he headed up the catwalk, stopping almost at the top.
I followed closely behind him, remembering something as he stopped "No train, broken. I'll… help, not scare."
Reaching my hand towards Nihlus, I circled Shepard's hip and Nihlus to grip him tightly "Call help… say the point."
Without further detours, I took a great leap towards a wall, clinging with my claws to the surface, and from there I leapt towards the large path the freight train was traveling. Opting for a quadrupedal form, I ran and ran as fast as I could, unafraid of what might happen next.
