Severus waited for Harry and his husband to return from their house with bags packed for them and their daughter. He wondered what Harry would do about his job, but was informed that he worked for Paige at the Social Services office as a social worker and she would send the paper work to him to take something called FMLA. Apparently his husband was a lawyer and would orb back and forth for work, while Harry would stay at Hogwarts, safe, with their child.
He'd had the forethought to send a patronus to the school to warn Albus that he had found Harry and planned on housing him in his quarters for a while. He would not be surprised if Albus was waiting there for him with he returned with the small family. He wished it was because the old man wanted to reassure Harry that he had never doubted that the accusations were false, but he knew it was more likely the man would want to interrogate Harry to assure himself that he wasn't a threat to the school.
Even Severus himself had doubts about whether or not Harry was innocent. He wanted to believe, like all the Halliwells did, that he hadn't done what he was accused of. However that would mean his accuser, someone close to Harry had made up these horrible lies, and everyone close to him had believed them. To think of the pain they had put the young man through if it was true that this person lied about him was almost too much to bear, and made it impossible to decide which was the desired outcome.
"Do you have everything?" He asked when he saw the small family reappear in the living room he had been occupying in a burst of tiny blue lights. He had been informed that specific ability was called orbing, and he was intrigued to see how it worked, if it worked, within Hogwarts wards.
"I believe we have everything we need. If not, Wyatt can always get it for us." Harry spoke, and it was clear he was nervous. "Where would you like us to orb to?"
"I think it best if Mr Halliwell, sorry Wyatt, orbed me over first." He spoke, and saw Harry's confusion and hurt. "I do not know how the wards will react to this form of magical transportation. Hogwarts prevents apperation, so if they block us, it is possible we could thrown back on impact. I don't want to risk Esme being hurt." He explained and saw both parents relax.
"Let's do this then." Wyatt spoke as he placed his hand on Severus's shoulder. "Where am I aiming for?"
"Focus on transporting us to my personal quarters." He said, then had the disorienting experience of orbing repeated a second time. He was pleased when they reappeared in his quarters at the school, but shocked when he saw his partner, the headmaster, and deputy headmistress awake and sitting on the couch. "If you could give me a moment to discuss the plan with my colleagues I would appreciate it." He told Wyatt.
"I'll return in a half hour, will that be enough time?" He told the blond it would work, and the man disappeared again.
"What is this you informed us of young Harry being brought here to Hogwarts? That was not him..." Dumbledore spoke after Wyatt was gone.
"No, that was Harry's husband, Wyatt Halliwell. He will return with Harry and their daughter in a half an hour. I thought it best we had time to discuss this before Harry arrived." Severus responded.
"Are you sure it is wise to bring Harry here? I mean, what if he were to attack someone else?" Minerva asked the question many of them were likely wondering.
"I have no intention of leaving his unattended. If it would make everyone feel better we can tell him it isn't allowed to wander the school without one of us. Besides, he will be caring for his daughter while he is here, it is likely he will not have the time nor energy to cause trouble." He could see the anger in his partner's face, and wondered what was going on in the man's mind.
"What makes you so sure Harry is even a threat to anyone?" James spoke up, opening up a conversation that had taken place many times in the past between the two of them.
"He has done it in the past James, it is possible for him to do it again." Albus spoke up, speaking as if he were explaining it to a child. "The fact remains, this is a school and we have to protect the children first and foremost. He can't have a repeat of what has happened in the past."
"James, we can't take what he did to Violet lightly. It would be irresponsible of us to disregard it." Minerva chimed in. "In all honesty, were there not a baby involved, we wouldn't even confiding bringing him here."
"I know he is your son James, but Violet is also your daughter. Imagine how she is going to feel when she finds out he is there, that we are protecting him." Albus chimed in, and Severus was once again reminded of the soft spot the oldest members in the room had for the magical Potter children.
"Halliwell you said, Wyatt Halliwell?" He hadn't realized Flitwick was there until he heard the man's voice.
"That is right, Harry's husband is Wyatt Halliwell." He spoke in confusion, wondering why that even mattered.
"Do you happen to know if he is the son of Piper Halliwell and Leo Wyatt?" The small professor asked, his eyes wide with curiosity.
"He introduced me to his parents and their names were Piper and Leo. Why, do you know them?" Severus was now curious himself.
"Know them? No, not at all. However, I have heard the goblins speak of Piper Halliwell and her two sisters who make up the Charmed Ones. Three sisters who also happen to be Wiccan witches. Together they are the most powerful witches of our time. Their line is also strong, and rumor has it one of their descendants being the wielder of Excalibur." Filius explained.
"So if someone were able to get their hands on the baby, it is likely they could use the child to control the family?" Albus spoke, the wheels clearly turning in his head.
"It is possible, and I've heard family is the most important thing to them. Though it is also possible that taking and/or harming the child is the quickest way to die as they are not known for showing mercy to those who harm innocents." Filius answered the question.
"I find it hard to believe they would have anything to do with Harry if they are meant to be Light Witches. Not after what he's done." Minerva spoke up.
"They believe him innocent of his crimes." Severus spoke, "After Wyatt took Harry back to their house to pack up to come here, I tried to explain to them what our world believed of Harry. They cut me off after the first couple of words, stating he had already told them what he was accused of, and they believe him when he says he is innocent."
"But they don't know Violet." Minerva spoke, "What reason would she have had to lie about Harry."
"She was a teenager, sometimes that is reason enough." Wyatt's voice rang through the room and they all turned to see him standing there with Harry and the baby.
"Is there a place I can lay Esme down?" Harry asked, hurt clear in his voice, Wyatt's arm wrapped firmly around his waist.
"I'll take you to the nursery Hogwarts added to our quarters." James spoke eagerly as he stood, hurt flashing across his face when Harry was reluctant to follow.
"I can't believe how much you've changed." James spoke as he studied his son, "You've grown and matured so much."
"Yeah, well, ten years, a husband, and a child will do that to a person." Harry spoke as he laid his child in the crib, refusing to meet his dad's eyes. "Do you believe I did what Violet accused me of? That I attacked her and forced myself on her?"
"I don't know what to believe." His dad spoke then looked confused. "I don't want to think you are capable of something like that. However, I also can't conceive of a reason why she would have lied. She would have known what those lies would have done to you. I can't believe she, or any of my children would want to hurt their sibling like that." James looked thoroughly confused.
"But you can believe I'm capable of such an evil act." Harry spoke with fire and pain in his eyes.
"No, I don't believe you are capable of that either." James was quick to reply.
"It's got to be one or the other! Either I'm capable of those actions, or she's capable of the lies." Harry's voice was low, not wanting to wake the sleeping child, but the anger in his eyes was burning through James in an almost painful way.
"I believe she is more capable of the lies than you are of the actions!" James found himself exclaiming without really thinking about it. "I just don't want to face the fact that the family, that I, betrayed you the way we all did." James finally spoke in defeat.
"So what, you forced yourself to believe the lies?" Harry asked, the shock clear on his face.
"Something like that I guess." James spoke, unable to meet his son's eyes.
"Well, luckily for you, 24 hours from now you'll have no recollection of this conversation." Harry spat the words at him as if they were poison. Wyatt and I cast a truth spell on ourselves before coming here. I had to know what I was getting myself into. If I would have anyone in my corner. Knowing you forced yourself to think the worst of me I can safely say I am on my own when Wyatt can't be here."
"What do you mean I will have no recollection of this conversation?" James asked frantically. It had been a weight off him to finally admit, even just to himself, how he had allowed his son to be wronged. He didn't want to forget. He wanted to be able to work on things. He wanted to make it up to Harry.
"Turns out I wasn't a squib like everyone thought. I'm a Wiccan witch and held to the Wiccan Rede. Wyatt and I cast a truth spell on ourselves, but since there is some personal gain involved we will remember everything people say to us for 24 hours, but they will remember nothing. Until those 24 hours are up, we are magically compelled to speak the truth, same with anyone we speak with." Harry explained.
"We'll keep to our rooms and the nursery for the next 24 hours." Wyatt spoke from the doorway, Severus and the others behind him. "As long as we don't ask the questions, you aren't bound by the spell."
"Go ahead, ask it." Harry spoke to the remaining members of staff. They could see they were all reluctant to ask the question that was weighing heavily on the group. "I know you want to ask it, so do so. I can't lie about it, so this is the best chance to get the answer you're all dying to know."
"Did you assault your sister?" Albus was finally the one to ask the question, but none of them were prepared for the consequences of the answer.
"No."
