Wow, 80 chapters already. Time really flies by since I first posted the first chapter. I wonder if I'll either reach the hundred mark or finish Part 1 (this story) soon?
Anyways, Valentines Event was good to me with gacha, got Bazett and she's a keeper. A good ol' fist to the face that'll keep the Calvary and Foreigner Classes in check. Now just gotta max her skills and Fou her up nice and good…I mean use the Fou cards to increase her HP and Attack stats you pervs. Don't go using Fou's name for other stuff without their consent, okay?
Plus, I finally got Oberon and unlocked his final ascension so I can do his Valentine. What a grind for the last few weeks.
Also playing Honkai Star Rail and Penacony hit me hard but no spoilers. Just know there's a wholesome waifu in the game that deserves the love. I got Black Swan in her Banner and her Light Cone. What a trip, especially with my luck in the game's gacha compared to F/GO but it depends on who develops the gacha games.
Novum Chaldea was on the run, the Alien God had destroyed their base this New Year and the Storm Border was heading off to its next destination. The Lostworld, an unknown frontier that was only explored in Britain's own unique situation at the time. Here's what the Last Master of Humanity knew: The Age of Gods never died. Gods created a familia to nurture their own heroes. Gods are forbidden from using their Authority as they live side by side with humans and demi-human races. Monsters from various myths and legends are found in one place called the Dungeon. The keypoint divergence was 14,000 years ago like the Greek and Britain Lostbelts involving the alien race Velber.
In this case, due to one god's actions the civilization reaping star did not pass Sol, allowing the gods to grow in power and hold dominion over the planet. The price was that the god that repelled Velber was murdered by deception and that a massive pile of curses became the origin of the monsters and the Dungeon. But what other information on it was known strictly by Hakuno and a handful of gods whom she shared her discoveries with. From what the Servants that did wander into that world beforehand couldn't find any more information, but everyone recalled the tragedy of Cernunnos and how dangerous the pileup of curses can do to a world when it's gathered at one place. Oberon was a thankful reminder of that scenario.
They had to get to Orario and find a way to stop the next world-ending collapse and another Oberon-esek nightmare. The collapse would turn the world inside out if left alone and Ritsuka did not want to suffer another nightmare of a foe like Cernunnos' own reanimated corpse. That cursed fluffy god still haunted her nightmares to this day and even the Count of Monte Cristo was working hard to stop the nightmares. But now that nightmare was resurging with a vengeance.
[Attention to all passengers, we are about to breach the wall of light. Prepare for potential impact.]
The warning was set, and then the jump into the new Lostworld—
Then absolute hell broke loose.
Be restrained.
She felt it. Her many contracts were severed, limited, weakened as her very mind screamed in agony at this limitation forced upon her. But then a sense of loneliness was filling her as she dashed out of her room and made way to find Da Vinci and Holmes. She had to explain what had just happened to her. This power was by instinct not of the Alien God's; no, this was something else completely. Something beyond divinity, in a way that her mind knows is not comprehensible in a human way. That overwhelming pressure of being watched by an unseen entity made the infamous Bed Trio (Kiyohime, Raikou, Serenity) seem tame in comparison.
Elsewhere in the Infinite Forest, both Gardener and Winnower simmered in annoyance. Their tampering with the tree by adding the 'Danmachi' fragment to create a hybrid timeline was making the world react violently to the foreign presence. It was too soon for the residents of the Grand Order timelines to interfere with this pet project of theirs. Their end goal was to awaken Hakuno's full Cypher potential, with Chaldea being the ideal enemy to push her to her limits in combat and abilities. But it was too soon for them to appear and thus they did two things. One, send the Storm Border to the undiscovered Americas of the Lostworld. Second, cripple Chaldea's usage of certain Servants to only a select few criteria. No Gods in Pseudo-Servant bodies, no actual Divine Spirits, no demigods, and especially none of the Foreigner Class Servants. They had to admit they missed a few, but they had entered the Lostbelt on their own prior to Chaldea's arrival. But they know for a fact that this alone would give Hakuno a push in the right direction as the Winnower examined what their Flamescion was doing.
*Chapel of Gomorrah*
From the basin did the Archdeacon and several high-ranking priests examine the battlefield with interest. Evilus had provided them quite the boon with the chains that negated the blessings of the Falna as that Edison fellow improved upon it by making an energy field generator that affects armies. It had proven useful in capturing the Artemis Familia as the moon goddess was now being used as a means to destroy the rest of the pagan gods so their own reigned absolute in the heavens above. Several of their own faithful warriors died martyrs today, but now they were capable of killing the many crippled heretics and their false gods in a single stroke.
Then the doors opened, a cold wind blowing through as the lights from the candles died as a shadow stood in the light.
It was a fellow priest, eyes dull and lifeless as a stake protruding from his chest. He fell, revealing the figure of his killer Baobhan Sith standing there with a predatory grin. "Malek!" one of the priests called out for their guardian, only for a blast of magic energy with the strength of a warhammer slam right into their chest, breaking both bone and organs as they died instantly. "Malek!" another screamed out, only to be eviscerated by one of Baobhan Sith's newest spells and leaving only a bloodstained skeleton for their trouble. The Scarlet Dancer smirked as she blended in with the shadows as the sounds of armored feet were faintly heard roughly a few floors down in her ears as the Archdeacon tried to sneakily reach the doorway. Little did the poor fool know he walked directly into her direction as she appeared before him, menacingly and chuckled darkly at her prey.
The man brandished the cross of his faith, using his own prayer power (magic circuits) to dispel the fiend. Only in his horror did he realize it. None of his reciting of the Sacraments were not working on her. Which meant this wasn't something his faith alone could defeat. "MALEEEEEEEEK!" he cried out as the armored feet were running with renewed vigor.
"Hahaha! Call your dogs!" Baobhan Sith shouted, letting her voice echo the hallway as the desperation of both man and warrior filled her ears. "They can feed on your corpses!" She casted one last spell, killing the religious leader as she drank the blood of her victims before hiding stealthily for one last surprise. The holy knight, Malek rushed through the doorway with pike at hand and examined the room carefully, noting the corpses of those he had sworn and failed to protect. He was on guard, unaware of Baobhan Sith appearing behind him with a mace and slammed it into his head. He would live, but he would soon face a fate far worse than death when this was over.
*Outside of Gomorrah*
Warning bells from within their holy city incited fear and panic out of the blue and Hakuno took a breath and loosened a small sigh. The death of important religious figures in their own domain was quick to cause a panic in the army before them. Confusion, fear, anger, frustration, all these emotions will split the army into two. One to defend their city and find the traitors or assassins that had the audacity to kill holy men on sacred grounds, the other to finish the fight and then find the criminals responsible for the travesty. Such are the rules of conflict between faith and duty, a divided house.
Hakuno examined the battlefield and was relieved to know that her familia members were all alright before she activated her magic circuits and fired projectiles in the shape of spears at the devices, restoring the adventurer's blessings to them and renewing the fight. She was reserving her energy for the upcoming fight with Deus. She could feel the Wicked God's malice growing stronger with each passing moment.
Then to everyone's surprise, the city itself was starting to transform from where she realized was the Holy Tomb of Elohim, twisting into some kind of demonic parody of what humans of the Abrahamic faith would view as their concept of what 'Heaven' would look like. It was revolting to the core. If Hakuno hadn't digested her food for mana earlier, she would have thrown up like several others on the battlefield both friend and foe alike at the sight of the display. She was hearing several elves call the sight impure and she was quick to agree on that statement. This…Dark Eden was the 'Texture' if terming it in her world's terms of magic went by, was Deus's own personal domain. His world, his rules.
"So, you 'adventurers' dare lay waste to my subjects."
The voice was booming and full of authority, not dissimilar to a certain god Hakuno was acquainted with. But while Ouranos had a gentle, grandfatherly warmth in his voice when she and the god conversed; Deus was cold, dictatorial and demanded nothing but absolute obedience in contrast.
"We dare you Wicked God. For all the lives your people slaughtered, monster." she whispered softly, instantly feeling a powerful gaze upon her from afar.
"Ah, the little witch. A Cypher Candidate nonetheless!"
"Very well, come child, come! Let your Father guide you to the promised land."
"Plus, bring your Familia and allies alongside you. I'm sure they will realize what important work I'm doing."
The parts of the city that weren't transformed into the Dark Eden were moved away to create a road for Hakuno and her allies. Deus knew what she was and that she was pactless—one without merging with a god inside her soul to awaken her Cypher powers fully. "Nero, Gil, I trust the two of you to do what you must if he does what I think he's planning on doing." Hakuno mentally communicated with her two oldest Servants that knew of her the most. Gilgamesh looked genuinely enraged by Hakuno's implications of the evil god's intentions as Nero gripped her sword tightly and glared at the Dark Eden with a hate so hotly passionate it could have reduced to cinders.
If a Wicked God had bonded and created a Cypher, the person's soul was violated and twisted. It turned the good person into something Hakuno did not want to become. She heard footsteps, bare feet ones and turned to see Hestia running towards her with genuine fear and concern. This was unexpected, especially since this is a battlefield. "All of Tenkai is in a riot, because this god is using Arcanum and isn't returning to Tenkai!" Hestia explained as Hakuno nodded her head and gave her goddess an answer.
"This god comes from a different world like me. He will not follow this world's rules and will cheat to get what he wants. And that would be a typical world domination cliche many a villain would do." the Holy Witch told Hestia as the goddess realized that this fight might be even more dangerous than intended.
"Are you sure you and your 'Servants' can beat this…dark god?" Hestia asked almost hesitantly as Hakuno wrapped her in a warm hug.
"I know what I'm doing, Lady Hestia." The fact that Hakuno is being formal with her goddess's name like this was meaningful. Gone was the loving daughter of Hestia, the Holy Witch and first Child of the Hearth. Here, instead, was a honed fighter who faced impossible odds, faced a God and a Demon in a different world and was regarded as a hero to some. "I've pulled off miracles before, and it won't be any different this time." she reassured Hestia who looked at her first child in the eyes.
Those starlit eyes glowed with an unwavering will and resolve she saw in the memories of that final battle in the Moon Cell. It brought about a small gentle comfort that Hakuno would have powerful allies by her side in this upcoming fight. "I wish there was a way for me to help in any way I could. But I believe in you, my daughter, just make sure to come back to us after this." she told her first child with a serious look while returning the hug to Hakuno.
*Gomorrah-Palace*
Lilith looked at the tomb from afar, becoming warped and corrupted by this foreign god that had the nerve to desecrate her Father's holy resting place for His own ends. She began to focus her power, her dark power that had cultivated from countless eons of exile by the heavens and love of her children. She recalled a similar existence to her was out there somewhere, trying to die as she felt its presence even now. Dark markings appearing on her skin, eyes glowing red, poisonous vipers wrapped around her body affectionately while one nuzzled her cheek. She was no longer going to hold back.
The Dark Matron of Humanity, Beast VI-G, Lilith had manifested in a battle against God.
That's a wrap for my return! I'm planning on including Bell in the fight against Deus since he's plot related for the endgame of this arc. And yes, Chaldea has landed in the Lostworld. Yorokobe!
Gotta save my quartz for both Archetype Moon and Summer Banners...if Honkai Star Rail doesn't drain my bank account first lol. Happy rolling everyone!
