Annabeth: The following is a non-profit fanbase one-shot. PJO, HoO and ToA are owned by Rick Riordan and Disney Hyperion. Please support the Official release.
Author: Oh, we doing this on every story now?
Annabeth: We kind of have to if we want to avoid lawsuits.
Author: True... Anyways, sorry to readers but I had to put that FFXIV/PJO 3-part story on hold until I can get it right. For now, I hope you can enjoy these other one-shots. Also, after this one will be a Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood/Percy Jackson one-shot. I still got plenty more ideas to make. If you like to commission a story, PM me. Also, there's a bonus scene at the end that has no connection to this story; just something I had to write to both the fandoms that needs to see. Doesn't matter what you say, the damage has already been done to me. Enjoy.
Summary:
Percy, Annabeth, Leo and Calypso went out on a double date at the mall. During the date, Leo and Calypso consult with their friends on relationship advice. Also, at this point, they're at least 18 years older or above.
(WARNING: SPOILERS TO TRIALS OF APOLLO)
Story:
The mall was as busy as every other day, stores opened up and packed with customers; the food court fill with people taking lunch breaks, and at the center of it all, is four people, trying to have a normal day.
At least... they're trying to.
"They're taking a long time, Percy."
"Yeah... nothing we can do though."
At the center of the mall, Leo and Percy are waiting by one of the seats their girlfriends to come out of the shop and keep walking around. Though, while they're waiting on them, they're keeping an eye out for anything suspicious or strange. Since they're demigods, they rarely get a peaceful day, let alone a peaceful life.
"It's fine," Leo said. "As long as Calypso is happy. I'll wait."
Percy smile.
After the whole incident with Apollo, things were finally being calm. Leo and Calypso had their rough patches, but they were able to get through it. Calypso was even able to become friends with Annabeth, which surprised him, considering that Calypso had a crush on him.
He'd be lying if he said he didn't think about her.
But not like that of a relationship between a boy and a girl. Annabeth is his one and only love. Calypso was like that sister he never had, even though he now has a little sister now. Percy never forgave himself for not checking on her freedom, but he's happy that she was finally able to find someone to love her for herself.
He knows Leo would never hurt her.
But it seems Leo has something on his mind.
"Something wrong?" Percy asked.
Leo sigh, "Can I ask you something?"
"What's up?"
Leo was quiet for a moment (Which is not like him in the first place) before he spoke, "How do you do it?"
"Excuse me?"
"How were you able to be a good boyfriend?"
Percy realized what he was asking.
"I mean, let's be honest here. Calypso and Annabeth? TOTALLY out of our leagues, I mean, they're smart, pretty, and can kick our asses easily. Annabeth can tell info about anything, anytime. And Calypso, her cooking and singing is out of this world. And yet, they're dating us. A guy who burst into flames and a guy who can breathe underwater."
"I mean, I can do other things."
"True, but Annabeth is totally beyond your league."
"Okay, I can't argue with that."
"Exactly," Leo said. "And yet, she's dating you. So, my question is, how did you manage to NOT screw it up?"
Percy can see the looks on Leo's eyes that he was being serious.
And afraid.
"You're afraid that Calypso is going to dump you, huh?"
Leo nodded hesitantly.
Percy laughed at the reaction. Because he understood it.
"Leo, trust me when I say this," Percy replied with honesty. "I have NO idea."
"Huh?!"
"I'm serious. Most of the time I'm just winging it, and the few times I DO plan something for Annabeth, the plans fall apart because of monsters. Get this, on our one-month anniversary, Hermes tasked us a small quest and we destroyed an entire block."
Leo laughed.
"True story! But, after doing his task, we were gifted a trip to Paris. And the thing was, I didn't plan that AT ALL!"
Percy sigh, "Trust me, Leo, there's no tip or guide on being a good boyfriend. If there is, I'd want to see it too. Because to this day, I still wonder what I did to get Annabeth to like me. I mean, look at her!"
Percy gesture towards Annabeth who is in a shop with Calypso, looking at clothes.
"I lost count of times she saved me from impending doom; some were from me being an idiot. Yet, she still wants to be with me?"
Percy chuckles.
"My point is, the whole time, I've been winging it and just kept being myself. Is it working? I don't know; but so far, Annabeth been happy. That's all I can do."
"But, what if 'being myself' is going to make Calypso leave me."
Percy scoffed.
"Dude, you got nothing to worry about. If that was true, she'd have dump you a long time ago."
"Wow, thanks for the voice of confidence," Leo said sarcastically.
"Relax, Leo. Look, remember the time my mom wanted to meet Calypso and thank her for saving me?"
Leo nodded. After everyone managed to get some free time, Sally Jackson wanted to meet Calypso and thank her for saving her son. Before that, Calypso wanted to patch things up with Annabeth. Afterwards, the two became best of friends and met with Sally later on.
"Well, when my mom asked if she was seeing anyone, she started talking about you. How you fell on her island like a fireball and destroyed her favorite table."
Leo snickered at the memory.
"And despite her best effort, she fell in love with your idiocy, her words, not mine. Anyways, she then went going on and on about you and how you done the impossible for her. Her, no one else, just her," Percy sigh, "I could never forget that look she had when she talks about you. It's exactly how I am when I talk about Annabeth."
Leo looks back at the store the girls are at, looking for his sunshine.
"Believe me when I say this Leo, you just keep being yourself and things will work itself out, I promise."
"Still," Leo spoke, "I want to prove to her how much she means to me. Even if I am a total idiot for falling for a literal goddess."
"You're not alone, Leo. But I think I can help you out," Percy said.
Leo looks at him questioningly and Percy gesture him to follow.
Meanwhile, the girls were at a clothing shop when the boys ran off somewhere.
"Calypso?"
"Huh?"
"Are you okay?" Annabeth asked.
"Yeah, just thinking."
"About Leo again?"
Calypso blushed at the statement.
"You're still thinking about our talk, aren't you?"
Calypso nodded as she still remembers her conversation with Annabeth at the coffeeshop. "I know I shouldn't be worrying about it, but I can't help it. I feel like Leo is just being with me because of his promise."
"Calypso, Leo truly cares about you; You know that don't you," Annabeth reassured, "Don't forget, he went up against your curse AND died so that he can save you from your prison. He did the impossible for you, Calypso. Don't think for a moment that you don't deserve it."
Calypso is trying to take Annabeth's words to heart, but at the back of her head, she can hear that sense of doubt, self-hate and fear.
"I'll try."
Annabeth noticed how she truly loves Leo. Back at Percy's home when she was visiting to meet Sally, every time she talks about Leo, she has this glint in her eyes that sparkles whenever she mentions him.
"That reminds me," Annabeth changes the subject. "How does it feel being a Jackson?"
You're probably wondering why she asked that.
During Calypso visit, Sally already knew that she's a former goddess and that she lost her immortality. Since she has no family (other than the gods, of course), she'll need a place she can always come home to. Plus, Estelle seems to take quite a liking to her, considering that she's only a baby at the moment.
"To be honest? It feels weird," Calypso answered, "I mean, I had a crush on Percy and now, I'm adopted to his family. I mean, that's got to be a weird!"
Annabeth laugh, "I mean, our whole livelihood is weird, Calypso. We live in a world where myths and gods exist. Besides, the family really likes you, and since Percy and I are going to college, I figure that Estelle is going to need some company while her big brother is gone."
Calypso stops browsing at the clothes and looks at Annabeth, "I'm still shock that it's YOUR idea."
Annabeth shrugged.
"I mean, why?" She asked. "Why make such an idea for someone who TRIED to steal your boyfriend?"
"First off, we weren't even dating at the time, so I don't really have the rights," Annabeth implied. "I did have a crush on him at the time, but I mean, I do not own him. Whoever he likes and dates is his choices."
"Yet he still chose you," Calypso said while Annabeth blushes.
"My point is, I have no rights to be mad at or hate you for crushing on Percy. I get it, I do. Plus, you weren't the only one; believe me, there's other girls AND guys."
Calypso laughed, "Seriously?!"
Annabeth continues, "Yeah, we'll talk about THAT later. And second..."
Annabeth was quiet for a moment and then finally spoke, "...I know how it feels to be alone."
"Huh?" Calypso said.
"Remember our conversation? Back at then at the coffee shop, I understood how you felt. I was alone once too; and then I met Percy and he helped me find home again. Sally made me feel welcome in her home, so I suggested her that she add you to the Jackson name. She knows about your interaction with Percy in the past because of both me and Percy, but she knew from the moment your eyes sparkle at the mention of Leo, you found love for yourself. Now, all you need is a home."
Calypso was silent for a moment, and then hugged Annabeth tightly.
"Thank you," she said. "Truly, I never had a friend who would do so much for me."
Annabeth hugs back, "Like I said, I understand. Besides, eventually, Calypso Jackson will be Calypso Valdez."
"Annabeth!" Calypso yelled while blushing. The two continue shopping while talking, unaware that the boys went off on their own. As the two walks out of the store, they look for their boyfriends.
"Do you see them?" Calypso asked.
"No, they must've run off to another store or went to get a snack."
"I guess we'll wait for them here then."
The girls sit down near a bench as they wait.
"Thank you, again."
"For what?" Annabeth asked.
"You changed the subject about me being adopted to the Jackson family because you were trying distract me from my thoughts about Leo."
"Yeah, you really needed it too."
Calypso nodded.
"Listen, Calypso, Leo is a lot of things. But he will never leave you; I promise you that. I mean, before all the heroic deeds he did for you, after he came back from your island, he had this spark that made him jumpier. No matter what anyone says, you brighten his life."
Calypso smiles, "Thank you, Annabeth."
"And who knows, the boys are still not back yet. Why not go to that store and find something... he won't foget," Annabeth said with a smirk as she points to the nearest Victoria's Secret store.
Just as Calypso noticed what she's pointing at, she turned red as a tomato.
"ANNABETH!" She yelled. "I can't do that!"
Annabeth laughs, "I'm only joking! But then again, I do recall Leo getting all flustered every time he mentions you wearing red."
Calypso blushes as she playfully shoves Annabeth.
"I'm not going in there unless you join me."
"Okay."
"HUH?!" Calypso yelped as they both walked into the store.
As the boys head back to where they were, they noticed that the girls weren't at the shop they last saw them.
"Where did they go?" Leo asked.
"We're here," They boys turn around and see Annabeth and Calypso carrying more shopping bags.
"What did you guys buy?" Percy asked.
"Nothing much, just some clothes and stuff. Mostly for Calypso since she'll need to expand her closet," Annabeth said and then looks back at Calypso and winks at her.
Calypso, on the other hand, was blushing madly and the boys don't understand why.
"But what about you guys, where did you go?"
Leo shrugged, "Nowhere really, just went to get some snacks. You okay, Sunshine?"
Calypso nodded but was still blushing madly.
"I'm fine, Leo. Just a little tired is all," She answered.
"Well, the good news is that the mall is closing for the night. Time to head back to camp."
Everyone nodded as they headed off back to camp.
As they reach for Camp, Percy and Annabeth grabbed the stuff out of the car.
"Let us help," Calypso offered.
"We got it, Calypso. You and Leo go ahead and get some rest," Percy suggest.
"But..." Calypso was going to insist on helping, but Annabeth intervene.
"Don't worry, we got it. I'll take your stuff to your room, go relax."
Calypso tries to offer help, but it was already too late, the two already went off with the stuff leaving Leo and Calypso alone.
"Uh, hey Calypso?" Leo said.
"Yeah?"
"You had fun, right?" he asked.
"Of course, I had fun with Annabeth. Did you?"
"Sure, it's always a good day when you're happy, Sunshine," Leo said grinning.
Calypso rolls her eyes, "Leo..."
"I'm serious, I had a fun time today."
"Okay, if you say so. Let's go meet up with the others and-"
"Wait!" Leo stopped Calypso. "There's something I have to say."
Calypso gone pale.
"O-okay?"
Calypso tries to hide it, but right now, she's freaking out. She fears that her biggest nightmare is coming true, and that Leo is going to break up with her. As she listens, she grips on her shirt tightly.
"I... I... I know I haven't been a good boyfriend lately. And I'm sorry," He started. "I'm an idiot that's dating the most beautiful woman in the world and I'm really screwing up. I guess after everything that happened, I just felt terrible. I know I should've been strong and just BE there for you. I know you had your own problems and issues, and I should've been there to help you. I'm sorry, Calypso."
Calypso softens at his words. She had her own struggles, sure. But Leo was suffering even worse, he just lost his best friend AFTER he came back from the dead. She can only imagine what Piper is going through now.
But Leo, he has little to no self-love. He's probably hating himself for everything.
"Leo..."
"Just hear me out," Leo continues. "I know I'm not the most handsome, strongest or heroic hero you ever met. But, despite my flaws, I still love you."
Calypso gasps.
"I love you, Calypso. I loved you the moment you kissed me on your island; the moment you helped me; the moment I saw your face after we kissed. Ever since the day we met, my life felt like I have found a purpose to fight. A purpose to live. And you know what? My purpose was to save you, to free you... to love you."
He took something out of his pocket and showed it to her.
"I got you something. Open it."
Calypso sees him holding a small black box. She opens it and finds a small necklace carrying a small white crystal pearl. She recognizes it.
"Is this..."
Leo nodded.
"It's part of the crystal you gave me for my trip back. I went to a jewelry shop to get the last remaining pieces."
"It's beautiful," Calypso said.
"I know Ogygia was your prison, but it's still your home. So, I managed to save as much as I can for you to remember home."
Home.
That was the one-word Calypso been hearing all day today. Home with the Jacksons. Home with the Demigods at Camp. Home with...
...Leo.
'Oh...' Calypso thought. 'I'm just as much as an idiot as Leo is.'
Leo continues. "I don't know what the future will hold; if you ever find someone better or decided to be done with me, I understand. I'm really a handful. But... No matter what, I'll always be here by your side."
Calypso was silent for a moment, and it worries Leo.
"Sunshine? Are you ok-"
Leo wasn't able to finish his sentence as Calypso hugs him and kissed him. He's confused on why she'd do that but doesn't bother to question her.
They stood there for a minute before Calypso broke off the kiss and spoke, "I love you too. I love you so much, you have no idea. You say that you aren't being 'boyfriend' material, but you know what? I never had a boyfriend, so I can't say what is normal. And to be honest, I don't care."
Calypso put her hand on Leo's cheek as she looks at him fondly.
"You were the first AND only hero to ever made a promise for a future together. The only one to ever come back. The only one to ever love me back. You may be a handful, but you have such a big heart that I can't help myself falling for you."
Leo smiles.
"To be honest, I was so scared. I was scared that I wasn't being a good girlfriend to you and that you're going to leave me. I mean, look at me. I tried to convince married men to stay with me; I cursed Annabeth and helped my father in the first Titan war. I'm not a good person, Leo; and yet you love me."
Leo replied, "Sunshine, you were lonely, betrayed, forgotten and abandoned. I, of all the people you met, understood that. Before I met you, I thought it'd be best that I was the one that died out of my friends. But then I met you, and I had a dream of a future. A future with you," Leo holds Calypso tightly and whispered in her ear. "I will never leave you, Sunshine. I will always love you; I will always come back to you and be by your side."
Calypso started to get teary.
She found her Odysseus.
Her Drake.
Her Percy.
Her Leo...
And she'll never let him go. Never again.
"... Hey Leo?"
"Yeah?"
"Is the bunker empty?"
"Yeah?"
Calypso was hesitant at the next sentence. But she needs to express herself how much she loves this man.
"I bought something at Victoria's Secret and... I want to show it to you."
Leo rapidly blushed and small flames started bursting on his head.
"W-what?"
Calypso breaks off the embrace but grabbed Leo's hands, making him follow her. Knowing Annabeth, she probably put her stuffs in her room at the Big House. She'll have to get her bag first.
And so, the two ran off.
Meanwhile, Percy and Annabeth dropped off Calypso's stuff to her room and started walking toward the cabins.
"So, do you think the two are going to be okay?" Percy asked.
"I'm sure they will be. Did you manage to talk to Leo?"
Percy nodded.
"Then they'll manage. Leo see's you as a role model, for some reason, and we both know how Calypso felt about you in the past."
"I still can't believe you suggested she be added to my family's name."
Annabeth shrugged, "Just because we both like the same boy, doesn't mean we can't be friends. Besides, I understand what's she going through. She needs a friend to help her out go through all this. And she needs a place she can call home, and your mom have always been nice to us."
Percy smiles and hugs her as they walk.
"You always been watching over all of us, Annabeth."
"Well, somebody has to, Seaweed Brain."
They kissed as they head to the cabins, and then Annabeth whispered to Percy, "Let's go to your cabin. I bought something and I HAVE to show it to you."
"Oh really? where did you buy it?" Percy asked.
Annabeth whispered the answer to his ears, and no one has ever seen Percy look so determined to be at his cabin alone with his girlfriend.
Love and life have many ups and downs but if you keep going through them together with the people you care deeply, then you'll get through even the hardest trials. There's no such thing as an easy life. These kids can tell you that, reality can tell you that. But you can't give up, keep working hard towards a brighter tomorrow and you will be rewarded. Maybe not today, tomorrow or the next five years. But you will find your happiness down the road.
Bonus:
At Camp Half-Blood, we find our four demigods relaxing at one of the campsites when Leo notices that Calypso is reading a book.
"What are you reading, babe?" He asked.
"Oh, nothing much; I asked one of my friends at Band Camp on any recommendation to read and one of them kept recommending this series, so I figure, why not?"
"What series?" Annabeth asked.
"Jojo's Bizarre Adventures."
Percy choked on his drink while Leo gave a surprised look.
"Seriously?!" Leo asked.
"Yeah... she was really persistent on it."
"Figures," Annabeth said, "The fandom of that series are very persistent, it's almost obnoxious."
"I gave up and decided to read it and..."
Calypso was quiet for moment and started get all flustered.
"And?" Percy asked.
"...and I read all the way to Part 8."
Leo and Percy laughs.
"I can't help it! I tried to stop but the story got so weird, even by our standards, I couldn't stop!" Calypso yelled.
"It does have a unique plot to it. There's nothing similar like it anywhere else." Annabeth insured.
"Exactly," Calypso replied. "And what's worse is that now, everywhere I see is a reference to that series, especially Percy!"
"Wait what?! Why me?" Percy said while laughing.
"I had to reread Part 2 THREE TIMES to confirm my suspicions and I was right. Percy Jackson is LITERALLY Joseph Joestar reincarnated!"
The boys kept laughing while Annabeth was telling them to stop.
"I'm sorry, but babe? I think you need to stop. The series is getting to you," Leo suggested.
"I know!" Calypso yelled. "But it's so good!"
"At least explain why I'm Joseph Joestar," Percy asked. "Because I don't see the resemblance.
Calypso looks at Percy with a deadpan look.
"Seriously? You don't see it?!"
Percy shook his head.
"Well," Calypso explained. "For starter, you're both New Yorkers."
"Lots of people are New Yorkers."
"You both unlocked your powers at a young age."
"I'm a demigod and Joseph is a fictional anime character."
"You both went to Italy."
"Lots of people went to Italy, it's a really nice place."
"You both got together with a blonde."
"Who wouldn't want to date a blonde?"
"He has a point," Leo added. Calypso tells him to shut up and continues.
"You both had an Italian friend who died to make sure your quest is complete."
That one actually shocks everyone.
"How did you know about Bianca?" Percy asked.
"Annabeth told me about your adventures. And I'm not even done."
Everyone was quiet as Calypso continues listing the similarities.
"You and Joseph Joestar BOTH fought an immortal being and won."
"Ares is a god, Joseph fought half-naked buff men from pillars!"
"Who can't die so easily," Calypso said with a smirk, knowing that she's proving a point. "You both also won a fight by simply tricking your opponent with nonsense."
"I had to! He was a better fighter, and we were outnumbered!"
"Okay, Percy?" Leo interrupted. "I think she's onto something."
"Oh, and there's one more," Calypso added. "You see, BOTH of you literally arrived to your own funeral after being healed for surviving a volcano eruption which YOU BOTH became the source of."
Everyone was quiet until Leo asked. "Did that actually happen?!"
Annabeth and Percy nodded.
Leo laugh hysterically.
"Oh, my gods! You ARE Joseph Joestar!"
"Shut up!" Percy said.
"Did the main character actually do that?" Annabeth asked since she's the only one who hasn't read the manga.
"Yeah," Calypso answered. "He did."
"Huh... well that is bizarre," Annabeth said.
"But there's still some things Percy hasn't done yet."
"Like what?" Annabeth asked while Percy tries to get Leo to be quiet.
"Two things: first, Percy isn't friends with a Nazi German scientist who became a cyborg."
"I doubt that'll ever happen."
And second: Percy hasn't had an affair with a Japanese woman."
"And THAT will never happen," Percy added. "I'm quite happy with Annabeth so that'll never-"
Percy stopped talking as he noticed that everyone is looking elsewhere. He looks at where they're looking and noticed that Drew was just passing by.
"...No..."
"Okay, hear me out, Percy-"
"No!" He yelled.
"Your future illegitimate child could be saving a town from a serial killer who has a thing for severed hands!"
"Are we seriously having a conversation about my boyfriend cheating on me with Drew, of all people?" Annabeth asked while Calypso was started to laugh herself along with Leo.
"I mean, he could be charmed or drugged to-"
"Okay, we're done here," Percy says as he gets up and walks away with Annabeth. Calypso follows as she explains that she was only joking while Leo was laughing his butts off.
Only thing on his mind was that his girlfriend has become a JoJo fan. Not the singer, the manga series.
And he's not sure if that's a good thing.
A/N: I hope you guys enjoyed the story, I got another One-Shot I'm going to be making and it will be a Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood AU involving Ed X Winry and Alicia Hughes.
If you have watched FMAB, you're either going to be feeling a lot of fluffs or cry with emotional damage. Probably both. Also, I will finally be making that Spiderman/Percy Jackson fanfic series that I have been planning for a few months now and I already got most of plot figured out, I will also need to finish the ToA and MC series along with doing some research.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the story. Until next update.
