Walking Dead Wizard
Chapter 91
It felt weird working without Daryl at his back, he almost regretted letting him go off to hunt, even if it was only within the confines of PA. It was like a missing piece of the puzzle, the others felt the same, but it didn't stop their constant vigilance and their ability to work together as a cohesive unit. It just meant they worked more closely together, Harry and Luna worked on burning as many of the walkers are they could, around the opposite side of the building from where any cars and the petrol station was. Inside the playground, able to expertly avoid burning the chain linked fences which would be a good thing to have in the long run. While the others carefully and expertly dealt with the walkers on the other side, using their guns to take them out with head shots. Sticking to areas that magic was listed as too dangerous to use in its vicinity. They had to be careful anyway, if they hit one of the unground petrol tanks they'd find themselves in trouble. They didn't want to waste bullets they didn't need to, they preferred using them only in the case of emergency. Why waste the bullets – when they couldn't be produced anymore – when they had magic at hand?
"This is useless, more just keep replacing them," Andrea complained after releasing yet another bullet. "We're going to be here all day at this rate."
"Agreed," Merle grunted, as always firing another round, then glancing to make sure Luna was alright before going back to the task at hand. It was a habit he refused to break, not for anything.
"Stop!" Harry called out, having heard them, wiping the sweat from his brow that had gathered due to the immense heat he was producing by casting the Fiendfyre spell.
Jesus who was supposed to be helping was just gaping at the sight of the fire coming from Luna and Harry's wands. They were using sticks like they were some sort of flame throwers with twenty times more power than a normal one could produce. Knowing they had some sort of power was different from seeing just how powerful they were in person. Even the stag that Harry had produced hadn't knocked him sideways. For the first time since the 'infection' began, Jesus began to feel true hope course through him. The abilities were real…which means their word was real, they could keep his people safe, safe from walkers, from Negan and from the Saviors, they could actually thrive.
Harry stalked across the roof, which was sturdy and not at all debilitated. Glancing down at the progress the others had made, eyes roaming over everything with calculated green eyes. He trusted Merle and Andrea's word, if they said they were wasting their time, then they most definitely were. "Alright, different approach then," he stated, glancing off into the distance, "Is that a rugby field over there?"
"Football," Andrea corrected him, "So yes," what the Brits called Rugby they called Football, which Harry found amusing, why call it football when they didn't even use their feet? "What are you thinking?"
"We have the stones, the noise will inevitably attract them," Harry mused, "We need to ensure that there's nothing that could cause an even bigger explosion though, within the two mile radius." They didn't include cars in that equation, since they weren't a concern, less so due to the fact most cars were ran until they were emptied.
"That will wipe out the most of them, while a few of us focus on only the ones trapped around the school grounds," Mira finished, speaking what they were all thinking. They were all very much in tune to what Harry was thinking, especially when he begun, they could all finish what he was suggesting. They'd been doing it for so long now that it was second nature for everyone to see it the way Harry and Luna did even without them having magic.
"Not that there is many left," Merle added, peering at the amount of walkers caught behind the fences, Harry and Luna had made quick work of them. "We need a map," it would tell them if there were any gas stations in the area.
"Accio map!" Harry murmured, causing everyone other than Jesus to duck, Jesus just stared down at them dumfounded until he was smacked on the face with every piece of map conceivably found in the area. The fifth hit had Jesus ducking down, hiding his face, which was bright red from the smacks delivered to it. He still got hit, just not on the face, the back of his head received most of them. "Right…well, now we just need to find the right one," he said staring down at the roof which was littered with dozens upon dozens of map books or pieces of maps.
"You need to remember to be more specific on what you want," Luna said, as she eventually stood up, sounding amused. "You alright?" she asked Jesus, grinning a little manically.
"I think this one will do," Mira said, who was already sifting through the maps and snatching one up. She definitely didn't want to stay here all day, she was quite cold actually, she should have put more layers on, and she wanted to get back before her boy finished school. Andre might not be hers by blood, but he was still hers, she'd lived for him, starved for him, walked into danger for him and did her best to see him survive. Only to reunite him with his mother, against all the odds in the world, and Michonne acknowledged her sacrifice and they were so close. They shared everything.
"Fine," Jesus didn't get remotely miffed by their amusement at his predicament, still too stunned to really bother by the quiet sniggering.
"Yep seems like it," Andrea and Mira were already getting the map out and trying to find where exactly they were, getting closer and closer by the second. "Never thought I'd see the day where we looked at those sort of maps again, it took my sister ages to learn them, too used to using google maps." And having the phone or computer do all the work for her.
"I always used these, I didn't bother with technology," Mira shrugged, her father was a technophobe, all the No-Maj technology was just downright confusing to him. She hadn't had any growing up, her father just didn't understand the desire to have them, or the bullying that occurred because of her lack of gadgets despite the fact they made more than enough money for her to have them all if she desired. She got a few pieces when she started earning her own money, but the reality was…she didn't have friends, you couldn't find magical information online…and it was soon discarded at the side of her apartment rarely getting used. She just didn't have a use for it in day to day life. Whether it was an influence her father had on her or just her lack of interest she honestly couldn't say.
Andrea glanced at Harry very quickly, knowing better than to assume anything else days, with what people told her. There could be so many reasons for it and not all of them money related. "It's a good thing believe me," Andrea said quietly ruefully shaking her head, "My sister did my head in constantly at the beginning. Complaining about her phone, her laptop, wishing she could google how to do things instead of having to learn the hard way." She was young, Andrea was a lot older than her, so she couldn't blame her. Reality settled in very quickly though.
"How long did it take to stop?" Mira asked a sympathetic smile on her face, Amy was a sweet hellcat, contradictory she knew, very sweet in a day to day basis, but try anything she would have you on your backside so quickly you'd wonder what happened. The only one remotely similar to Amy – but more lethal – would be Sophia. Her experience with the 'Governor' had cemented her need to be as bloodthirsty as possible, and Harry never once dissuaded her of her desires to defend herself. In fact Sophia could probably run the class, and did act as an assistant from time to time.
"Fully? three months," Andrea said thoughtfully, vividly reminded of the day at the lake where she and the others truly began training and where Merle had beat the shit out of Carol's pathetic husband Ed. In fact, that was the day she last mentioned wishing for something from the past. They'd almost been overrun, if not for Harry, Merle and Daryl, she dreaded to think what would have happened. In fact Merle had directly saved Amy as well as Sophia and Carl who had all been in the caravan with Carol guarding them on the outside due to Harry's urging. She remembered more of that day now than she had at the time. The shock of the swiftness of the attack and having to leave somewhere…somewhat stable.
"Found it yet?" Harry asked, crouching down next to them.
"Just," Andrea said, giving a little 'ah-hah' when she did indeed find the place they were at, actually tapping the school on the map.
"No gas stations, except this one, there's a church though, and a car showroom…public wash room, and a motel, as well as the field of course," nothing that would be remotely missed. Although they might have stuff in the way of food and other things they could take. Which was a shame really.
"Depending on how old this map actually is," Merle pointed out, "Could be older and useless,"
"Shit, I didn't think of that," Andrea muttered turning it over, "2010, fairly recent," giving a breath of relief, "I'd say it's as accurate as it could get, don't you agree?"
Merle grunted his agreement, true enough.
"I'll use my broom, you stay here and deal with this lot," Harry said, already digging into his bag for his shrunk down Firebolt, the black instrument was quite quickly put back to its original size and hovering in mid-air.
"Do you have a cat too?" Jesus couldn't help but mutter.
"Some of us do," Harry retorted with more bite than strictly necessary, "Most of us use owls as familiars, don't be a wiseass, the Muggles might have mocked us but I don't have the people I'm going out of my way to help do it too." With that Harry kicked off from the ground pressing himself out against the broom and zoomed off until he was nothing but a blur on the horizon for their human eyes.
Jesus winced, wondering just what sort of live landmine he'd just put his foot in as accidental as it was.
"Familiars are important to us, our culture is important to us," Luna explained plainly, "To add insult to injury, Harry never got over losing his, they aren't easily replaced either. They become a…sort of anchor for some people, and the non-magical population's version of witches and wizards is really insulting." Anubis was Harry's familiar, they had bonded just as Hedwig and Harry had. The fact Hedwig had been murdered saving Harry was also at play.
Yep, he'd definitely stood in a live landmine, "I didn't mean anything by it," Jesus murmured regretfully.
"Harry knows that, honestly, he does, but there's just some things he won't tolerate," Luna said, patting him on the back, "Don't worry about it, he certainly won't." which was true enough.
"He doesn't hold anything against anyone, trust me a few of us have done worse," Andrea said, just as the sound of the stone being activated sounded the area.
"What do we do?" Jesus asked hearing the sound, it was deafening, it sounded dangerous.
"Nothing, we're well out of the range, just don't be caught off guard," Luna answered, she was the one most knowledgeable about the stones she made them after all. Watching Harry fly further up so he wasn't within the blast radius or the aftershocks. He was probably enjoying himself, he loved flying even if it was for something…that wasn't recreational. This was as far from recreational as one could get.
Jesus was the only one unprepared for the explosion despite the warning.
"Jesus fucking Christ!" he called out in alarm as he instinctively ducked.
"Ironic," Mira murmured, considering his name.
"You have bombs and detonators?" Jesus asked, staring out at the distance at nothing but a mushroom of cloud.
"We do actually, but we've not used them," Andrea answered idly, there was a lot in those vaults within PA, it used to be military base after all. Everything they had in there had been written down, right down to the last bullet, anything they used got written down too. It's not that they feared it would go missing, nobody could get in there without permission after all, well a few of them could, but they were trusted explicitly. Safety first was always their first order of the day.
"They're goin'," Merle stated, watching the lumbering mass of dead flesh bodies beginning to make their way towards the noise. His arms wrapped around Luna, keeping an eye out for any sign of trouble and not all from walkers.
"How many do you reckon are trapped inside the school?" Luna questioned, rather grimly, but dealing with children never sat well with any of them. They knew they weren't alive and it was for the best for them that they were dealt with, their souls – Merlin bless them – were already at rest away from this horrible apocalyptic torn world they were now part of.
"What are you using then?" Jesus asked, surely if they were using magic they could stay where they were and use it?
"Magic, its imbedded in runes, similar to the stone I gave you, only when you crack these ones," Luna said, showing him one, that shimmered with little runes. "The noise begins, attracting as many walkers as possible before exploding within a two mile radius, turning the walkers to dust, it came in handy when we begun clearing out our home." And PA was their home, a permanent one.
"So that's why he's up there," Jesus said in understanding, he has to be where they were meant to go in order to detonate the stone. "How many of you are there?"
"There used to be hundreds of thousands of us…how many have survived though I couldn't say," Luna explained, blue eyes filled with sadness. She knew some of the schools had persevered, chances were all of them had to some capacity. "Non-Wizards out populated us at least thirty to forty to one witch or wizard."
"More than that," Merle corrected, there were billions of non-wizards out there before the apocalypse.
Luna nodded taking his word for it, he would know better, she hadn't been raised amongst the non-magical population.
"That many?" Jesus gaped, quite frankly shocked to the core, "How is it that you were never found out?" surely someone would have found out, and news would have spread.
"Magic has a way of protecting its own," Luna explained, without giving him the nitty gritty details.
"Here it comes," Andrea called out, and three seconds later the sound stated up again.
"Eh…there's a herd coming this way…" Mira called out, staring in the opposite direction.
"Oh crap," Luna moved herself away from Merle to stare at the distance, which true enough, there were large swamps of walkers making their way towards the sound. "We forgot Silencing spells." To stop the sound getting out from a certain radius to prevent things like this happening. "Expecto Patronum Message as following: Harry we have a herd moving in on us, we forgot the silencing spells' end message," with that Luna's Patronus zoomed over to Harry, exploding before the Patronus actually opened its mouth and said Luna's message.
Jesus watched what was happening worried that they would scrap the plan, just as he was on board properly for the first time. His internal panic had just begun to show up externally when his thoughts were side-tracked. The sight of Harry flying towards them and then hovering in mid-air, sitting on the broomstick, was the weirdest sight Jesus had ever seen. Especially when he began speaking as if it was an everyday occurrence to do such a thing. None of the others so much as blinked either.
"That's quite a load," Harry said frowning at the sight in front of him, "Too many to risk them sticking around so I'll fly along and put the silencing spell behind their radius, it will take a while so if you want to start heading down and dealing with the walkers outside and start inside go ahead. Merle you're in charge, if there's too many don't risk going in." the school could be completely packed, best to let them trickle out in a more controlled manner.
And with that Harry was on the move again.
"There are ladders here, we can get down that way," Andrea commented towards where the ladders were situated.
"Yes, thank goodness!" Jesus all but leapt for the ladders, laughter ringing in his ears.
"You'll get used to it!" rang in his ears afterwards.
"So I've been told," Jesus said, "But I still prefer me feet touching the ground at all times and my stomach were it belongs!"
"That actually could happen," Luna called down as she climbed down after Andrea who had gone after Jesus. "You could accidentally leave an hand a foot or even an internal organ behind."
"Luna!" Andrea called out, rolling her eyes, "You've been spending too much time with Harry and Merle," she declared as Luna regained her footing on solid ground.
Mira who was climbing afterwards giggled in amusement completely agreeing with Andrea on that front. She was sounding more and more like Merle every day, just with a British accent. Which even that was beginning to fade a little, Harry's was almost gone on a good day, although when he got really annoyed he did sound very, very British indeed.
For the next two hours the group worked in sync, as they always did, Merle despite his gruff demeanour, was excellent at leading the small group of their trusted friends into dealing with the walkers. Once glimpse into the dirty window and he declared they weren't going in there. Instead they had to endure the slow pace of leading the walkers out to the slaughter, only using guns when they came out in rather big clusters, other than that they used their weapon of choices, swords, daggers and in Jesus case a short spear that was hastily made.
Jesus was mostly in charge of opening and closing the doors to prevent them being ambushed, Merle didn't want to risk anyone because of the home made spear. It looked ready to crumble, and he didn't have any extra weapons – he had given the guy a gun though – but they wanted to limit the use of bullets. Although the group was…inventive if nothing else, Hilltop that was, they made decent weaponry for novices.
"You guys done?" Harry called out from the sky, swooping down on his broom with a peaceful look on his face. Nothing would ever beat flying, it was his version of having peace and quiet. Like Daryl when he went hunting. He needed to find time to fly, he realized, just ten minutes of his time. Upon swooping down his stomach twisted unpleasantly, making Harry almost gag at the unexpectedness of it, what the hell? He'd never felt sick a day in his life on a broom, except of course, just before his first game.
"Almost," Luna called out as Merle smacked the side of the building with a piece of metal pipe, making as much noise as humanly possible to see if it attracted any walkers. "I think that's all the loose ones, now we just have to go door to door."
"And four levels," Harry deduced, glancing up at the row of windows.
"Five around the other side," Andrea interjected.
"Two groups or working together?" Mira asked, Harry could go either way.
"Narrow corridors, many rooms, we are probably better splitting up," Harry deduced thoughtfully, otherwise they risk being bitten or worse.
"I'll take Jesus and Mira and work at the other end," Andrea suggested.
"No," Harry declared immediately putting a stop to all movement. "We go along together, we work on the left hand side, you work on the right hand side. That way we won't end up swamped or ambushed…we don't know how many if any are in the classrooms."
It took another hour for them to be one hundred percent that the school was completely clear. Five minutes later the school and its surroundings was secured with the Fidelius Charm. Jesus was the main 'secret keeper' but Merle, himself, Luna and Andrea had been added to it. For safety, if anything happened to Jesus it would make this place insecure as everyone would be flooded with the knowledge of where they were. They would all become the Secret Keepers.
"So, what do you think?" Harry asked Jesus, as he cleared the last of the walkers out of the school, banishing them all, the dragon was going to be well fed today – and the next week – that's for certain.
"It's…perfect," Jesus said settling on the correct wording, he guessed Luna was right, Harry wasn't dwelling on what he said. However, he still felt bad, "I apologise for my earlier slight,"
"It's fine, just be careful of what you say, especially if you meet any other wizards or witches," Harry stated firmly. Not all of them were as forgiving as him.
Jesus nodded in understanding, rather excited about meeting more wizards it sounded like fun.
"What next?" Mira asked, glancing at Harry as she dusted off her hands.
"I've been here longer than I expected, I'm taking Daryl to Hogwarts but I suppose I should tell Hilltop give them a show and tell," Harry said grimly.
"I thought you were telling both groups together?" Luna asked, glancing at Harry in surprise.
"Telling that many people together in one room…I'd rather not end up being lynched by a mob of terrified Non-wizards," Harry said, shuddering at the prospect.
"They wouldn't get close enough to you do to that," Mira said, rolling her eyes Harry was just exaggerating. Harry wasn't stupid enough to allow such a thing to happen, much too cautious – one might even say paranoid but after what he'd been through nobody could blame him – so yes, definitely not going to happen.
Harry just gave her an unamused look as if sussing out how amused she really was.
"So Hilltop today then meeting with The Kingdom people then?" Andrea deduced as they stood in the empty science room while Merle rifled around for anything worth taking. Which he'd been doing in nearly every room they went into, there were surprisingly a lot of stuff in the school. They had left the cafeteria alone, realizing that Hilltop needed the food, in fact Harry had added more to it, stating he'd emptied out the church and hotel cupboards of their supplies, massive tins of soups and stews that would keep everyone going at that. At least until Jesus got familiar with the land and begun to go scavenging again.
"Yes," Harry confirmed, "Are you ready to head back?"
"It's a shame we don't have a camera to take some pictures, so that they could trust this," Jesus said, but they trusted him, he hoped, enough to make the journey.
"Here," Merle grunted, rummaging in his bag before shoving a cell phone in Jesus' hand, "Keep it, Harry's numbers programmed in." it was the only one programmed in actually, they'd meant to give it to him when they gave Ezekiel his.
Jesus didn't give them the same look Ezekiel did, presuming quite rightly, that magic was involved. It felt weird holding a phone again, his own had long ago been abandoned along with a lot of his things during the initial outbreak. No point to having a phone when it wasn't chargeable and nobody to answer any of his calls. Clutching it close, he breathed evenly, before sliding it into his pocket of his leather jacket.
Merle arched a brow before shrugging his shoulders, apparently he wasn't going to take pictures after all. No, doubt he was thinking of before the damn apocalypse, he knew a lot of his group had done the same thing when presented with them. Between them and the radio they could easily get in touch with them.
Gathering together, Harry apparated them to the woods just outside of Hilltops view, more of out habit than anything else. Perhaps the next time he came here he would be Apparating.
"Get everyone out here," Harry told Jesus, he was looking forward to going to Hogwarts to see everyone and introducing Daryl to everyone properly. Too much had been happening the first time Hermione and the others had come, too much excitement and happiness to see them again to have any real conversation.
"I'll be back as soon as possible," Jesus reassured them before swiftly making off, clearly in a hurry to do as Harry demanded.
"Probably should have brought some of the food with us," Andrea said, "Even if it was just one of the tins of stew," they were all starving, slowly, it was quite horrible to see really. What Negan was doing to everyone was sick and twisted, she would never understand why they hadn't just fought.
"I agree," Harry said, unhooking his bag from his shoulders, he took out a big tin, of beef stew and handed it to Andrea, grabbing a lot of different kinds of smaller tins of fruit and handing them to Mira. This would just have to do them, if they were going to be going to their new place…it was probably better to do it without having just consumed the first decent meal they'd had in a long time. Not everyone reacted well to a Portkey. Although it was easier on the stomach than Apparating, but he wasn't about to Apparate all these people to the school anyway.
"This should be ready by the time you're done," Andrea said, "Come on," gesturing for Mira to follow her, both girls quickly disappeared into the manor, successfully managing to work their way around the people coming outside. Their eyes comically widening when they saw the food.
The girls actually heated the food and made a fruit salad with the fruit in a massive bowl they found.
"Is that everyone?" Harry asked Jesus as he returned to his spot shoulder to shoulder with Harry.
"Yes," Jesus nodded seriously, he had lost a lot of people in the past few months, more so very recently. They were all still grieving the loss. Surprisingly, the group had warmed to Harry and the others, presumably because they had seen them coming yesterday and saved their lives. Well 'seen' was the wrong word to use since they hadn't seen them, but knew they had come. They owed their lives – potentially – to Harry and his group.
"First I would like to give my condolences for your loss, it's never easy, no matter what world we live in, to lose those we care about." Harry called out, so he could he heard by everyone. "I have no doubt you desire nothing more than to be safe, to eat, to wish Negan away."
"We want him dead!" called out a male voice, sounding bitter and twisted.
"Bert!" called out a female voice in reprimand, one that wasn't truly felt.
"I don't blame you," Harry said, he must have lost someone very close to say that out loud. They were all thinking it though, there was no doubt. "I have a way that we can get you away from Negan and the Saviors as well as these trailers, into a proper room, real privacy and all in one building. With proper room to grow and prosper, without the need to give away your food in order to live."
That certainly had them buzzing like bees, talking quietly, shaking their heads, whispering louder.
"Why?" it was a young voice that asked this, filled with fire and doubt. "What DO you want?"
"Damien!" Jesus warned, hoping that the teen wasn't going to start anything.
"Don't, he's only being smart, asking instead of assuming," Harry said to Jesus, approving of the behaviour of the boy in front of him. "I get why you think nobody would help, that it's a trick, nobody really cares anymore, but life…can surprise us all sometimes. Jesus and the rest of us have been busy clearing out a school for you all. The grounds are large enough for crops to be grown and animals to be raised. It's one hundred percent secure you will never be bothered there again."
"You can't promise us that!" Erin protested, trying to stamp down the hope she was feeling.
"Oh, but I can," Harry said, bracing himself for what was to come. "You see…I am a wizard, and I have magically concealed this school from all eyes, only Jesus can invite those he personally trusts into it. Even then, they cannot reveal where it is," not unless he died.
"Oh, great he's nuts!" they quickly began to shout their displeasure at the trickery and deceit Harry had foisted upon them. "You're mad!" snorts and ungrateful mutterings followed.
"Expecto Patronum!" Harry called out loudly over the hubbub and his stag sailed out of his wand, sailing majestically through the air. Trotting as though it really had to, sailing through the crowd, making clear contact with each of the people, all of them reacted differently. Some reverential, some in awe, some in smug satisfaction as if they had known magic was real all along, other in stark fear and terror.
"Our Lord Jesus Christ, the devil walks amongst us!" cried one of the many standing looking ready to piss their pants.
"He's evil!"
"Freak!"
"I'd rather die than sell my soul!"
"Bet you caused this!" cried another.
Harry's back got stiffer and stiffer as he listened to them all call him more and more degrading names. He was resigned to it, expected it even. There was absolutely no trust between he and these people, not really, not like there had been with his group when the truth came out. His face was a blank mask, showing nothing, ensuring they didn't know how he felt regarding their thoughtless words. The others though…weren't quite so composed, no they were absolutely pissed off. Merle was actually growling under his breath.
"Good Job Daryl isn't here," Merle grumbled out, his sharp eyes making sure to memorise the fuckers who had called out against Harry. "He would have punched their lights out." And that was the truth. "You had better not let em go after that," Merle warned Harry, "Or I will deal with em myself." And he meant it, he'd kill them before he let Harry protect their ungrateful hides.
"Quite finished? Call to your god, someone who could turn water into wine and walk on water without an ounce of magical powers," Harry retorted sarcastically, "You do not need to accept my help, but anyone going to the school has to accept magic fully."
"You swear…you swear we won't be found?" an elderly woman stepped forward, he said elderly, but she was hardly more than sixty-five, maybe less, this apocalypse had aged them all. In her arms she had a child ensconced within, the child couldn't be more than maybe eight or nine months. He honestly couldn't say he hadn't grown up around kids.
Harry zeroed in on her face, "Now why are you so accepting?"
"It's Rory's grandmother, Margaret Mathers," Jesus whispered urgently. "The boy you were asking about,"
Harry chuckled darkly at the irony, "Rory was a wizard, its what led me here, he was down for school here in America, was he the only wizard in the family?"
"We don't know, I my daughter…she got pregnant young, just seventeen, Rory was a result of that," Margaret admitted, a tear rolling down her face. "My daughter died going into premature labour after seeing…and they took the doctor." She'd been so adamant that the save the child, regardless of what happened to her.
"I am so sorry for the losses you've suffered," Harry said softly, ignoring everyone around him as he focused on the woman. "I only wish I had the book earlier so I could have gotten here before he was hurt." Unable to say killed or murdered, the woman looked ready to fold in on herself. "But yes, you'll be safe, you'll understand when you get there, you'll get to see for yourself just how secure it is."
"How far would we need to go?" Margaret asked, hosting the child up a little, "It's not easy keeping the little ones quiet and for a long journey…"
"May I?" he asked, gesturing towards the child.
In a show of trust, she handed the child over immediately, Harry while awkward at first, quickly got the hang of it. The first thing he realised was none of the clothes fitted, the baby stank to high heavens – and he was in no way exaggerating as people often do – and was way too thin for his liking. The baby quickly made its displeasure known, as it cried out.
"Could…could she be the same?" Margaret questioned, cautious and hopeful, better chance of survival as a magical practitioner after all or so she believed.
"Yes, the magic could come from either side of the family," Harry explained, "So she may,"
"Harry we need to deal with them." Luna warned Harry cautiously, almost cooing over the baby herself.
"And we will," Harry declared strongly, handing the child back over to its grandmother. "Jesus, those who want to come inform them to be ready with everything they wish to take. No matter how big or small, everything will come with them, including their beds if they have one."
"What about…" Jesus seemed utterly lost, the fact the others had reacted so negatively stunning him.
"There is nothing I can do for them." Harry declared, in fact as soon as Jesus and the others were away to the new place he would be obliviating them all of any knowledge of magic. He couldn't risk them deciding that every person they came upon was magical or some nonsense and beginning an apocalyptic version of the witch trials. For the safety of everyone he had to make sure they forgot any mention of magic. "I'm sorry, but they won't come," they'd already distanced themselves from him as if he was the devil himself, nothing would change their opinion. Quite a few were clearly still unsure, and there were others who were ready for a miracle.
"Andrea and I made some food for you, stew and fruit salad, more than enough for everyone, it's in the kitchen, go and enjoy it." Mira called out to them, eyeing the ones who had clearly made themselves scarce with distaste along with Luna and Andrea. Merle's expression which was always a scowl hadn't changed. His eyes though, had darkened in anger. Harry had never once judged them, not even for being piss poor redneck's without a pot in which to bloody piss. He only judged those who he knew deserved that judgement, like the paedophile Rick stupidly saved, and he'd also taken care of that problem.
"Call if you need us," Harry added before he apparated his people out of there without a second thought. Making a mental note to make sure there were many baby items set aside for that beautiful baby girl.
"Go to Hogwarts, don't let their comments get to you," Luna stated sharply when they landed, she knew her best friend well, almost too well really.
Daryl was sitting just slightly off away from the communal fire pit gutting a huge deer, the second he saw them back, relief entered his green eyes. They had been gone longer than expected, although they hadn't set an actual time for when they would be returning. His eyes quickly narrowed, a frown marring his features as he abandoned the deer he was gutting, and stood abruptly making his way towards them.
"What's goin' on?" Daryl demanded, he didn't need to be a genius to know something had pissed off the entire group.
"Go. To. Hogwarts." Luna enunciated, pushing Harry towards his house where the cupboard was now stored. It was of course, completely safe for Daryl to go through, they'd done testing and Muggles just as well as Wizards, Witches and animals could go through without a problem. "Anubis, here boy!" patting her leg, ensuring the German Shepherd would remain behind.
"We'll see you later," Harry said, deciding to go to Hogwarts and refusing to let those ungrateful gits spoil the rest of his day.
Daryl threw them a look before he repeated his question to Harry, "What happened?"
"I'll tell you, later though," Harry said, "Did you have fun at least?" not so subtly changing the subject.
Daryl allowed the conversation change, they were all alive and that was all that mattered. He grunted out his answer, which Harry knew to be a yes, well versed in non-verbal grunting where it came from a Dixon at any rate. Each one had a different meaning, and he knew them all like the back of his hand.
Before long, both of them were stepping through the cupboard and into Hogwarts castle, going instantaneously from America to Scotland.
Will Harry get a chance to use Phoenix tears? Who will end up bitten and Will it be the thing needed to beat the infection? Or will they lose their first member because of Negan? Or will the story end with no cure still in sight? Will Harry end up being sick in Hogwarts and seen by Poppy? Will he be ill with an incurable disease and ending the story in heartbreak? Or will there be a young Potter-Dixon running around PA in a few years' time? Will Luna and Merle have a little Lovegood-Dixon of their own? Will Glenn and his parents reunite and have them move to PA? How do you envision Glenn's parents? and Merle's reaction to them :P and Luna's reaction to his words :P haha! I can totally see it! R&R please!
