Walking Dead Wizard
Chapter 93
Luna handed Merle a butterbeer which had a shot of firewhisky with a wink, it was her own stash so she didn't feel too guilty. Merle though, kept his eye on the cupboard, he might not be exuding anxiety but anyone who knew Merle knew he wasn't exactly chill right now. The cupboards had been proven to work, and Merle's worry was more to do with a concept of magic he didn't fully understand. Not that he believed Luna or Harry would let anything happen to his brother, he was just…anxious. Daryl was in bloody Scotland and if anything happened…well he didn't want to think on it really.
Magic wasn't one hundred percent, after all Harry had ended up in Atlanta trying to get to Potter manor, wherever it was, for crying out loud. So, yes, he was a little leery of magical transportation, when they were together it wasn't so bad, but being separated by an entire continent from his brother where anything could happen…it didn't sit right with him.
"Merle, did you figure out what was wrong with the car?" Glenn asked, he'd found a Ferrari when he was outside, and he'd had to have it. Unfortunately, it wasn't working the way it should, and Merle and Daryl were the mechanics along with Dale so he was hoping it was fixable. It was similar to the red one that was all dismantled with great regret for him.
"Carburettor needs tuning, its fixed," Merle explained after taking a swig of his beer, "Keys were put in the mail box." Not that the mail box was actually used, but go figure merle would find a use for it.
"Thanks man!" Glenn said, his entire disposition cheering up, Maggie from behind him rolled her eyes, boys and their cars, honestly. Then again, he had pined after that car he'd left in the quarry, it wasn't as if they'd get to use it much, those cars wouldn't fit much in the way of supplies, it wasn't in any way useful but if Glenn wanted it why not? They used the horses more than anything else around here, or motorbikes that have been magically sound dampened so they didn't terrify the animals if they went near.
Merle just grunted, still keeping an eye on the cupboard.
"Stop worrying so much, it's going to be hours before they're back, it's the first time Harry's been at Hogwarts in a long time." Luna nudged him, "It's like his home and I've no doubt Harry's going to show Daryl absolutely everywhere." Maybe even his own dorm room she thought in amusement.
"Back from where?" Maggie asked, claiming a seat on Glenn's lap.
"Hogwarts, the magic school," Luna explained, "And by the way…the cupboards have been found by those in Ilvermorny, the teachers used it to meet with those at Hogwarts."
Glenn suddenly begun paying more attention, "My parents and sisters can get to Hogwarts now? Which means they could come here right?" excitement thrumming through him.
"Eventually," Luna nodded her agreement, "Right now they're just trying to set up everything properly, there has been talks, according to Hermione, about having two cupboards, one for Hogwarts and the other for here, so that others from Ilvermorny could come here. It's Harry's decision on whether to allow it or not."
"Why wouldn't he?" Glenn asked indignant.
"A lot of foot traffic to keep track off, the others might not feel comfortable about other magic users they don't know coming and going." Luna listed of just two of the things that might make Harry say no. "We don't know how desperate their situation is, whether they have food or not, its just a lot to process and with Harry often out there on the front lines, it doesn't leave much in being able to talk to him for any length of time. Hermione is going to discuss it."
"But he will agree right?" Glenn asked, the desperation to see his family was clear to see, now that he knew he could potentially get to see them and not just talk through a mirror. Which in reality was more than he'd ever expected.
"The people here will always come first," Luna said diplomatically, honestly, Harry has surprised her a time or two. So, she couldn't in all good conscience tell Glenn that it would be a yes, when she didn't know herself.
Glenn nodded, conceding the point, he'd wait and find out.
"Luna!" Judith squealed, throwing herself at the witch, an excited giggle leaving her lips.
"Hey, where's your mummy?" Luna said, scooping the girl up, who was as fast as a rocket these days, and her vocabulary was broadening.
"Right here, I need to get some rope and attach her to myself," Lori said, shaking her head, showing she didn't mean it and was more amused than anything.
"And shout mulch," Merle muttered, causing Lori to laugh.
"She is fast and getting stronger by the day," Lori agreed, she was so proud of her daughter and son come to that. Being here, having stability, able to feed her kids, it was freeing in a way she hadn't had in such a long time. Not having to constantly worry about Rick, or the kids, it was liberating. She hadn't felt such freedom since she was a teenager herself. Before she had married so young, without realizing the worries she'd face in her future with Rick.
"Magic! magic! please!" Judith begged Luna, eyes adopting the infamous puppy look all children like to adopt when they want their own way.
The magic word had every child – and teen – in the vicinity making their way over eager to see some magic. They still found it wonderous even after all this time, Meghan had been here the least long so she still loved the sight of it so much, knowing she'd be able to do it also was mind-blowing for the little girl.
"Oh, alright," Luna sighed as if it was a hardship, but the grin on her face belayed that hardship for her.
Everyone cheered and followed her from under the canopy, Luna lay on the ground – which used to be a road – the others following her lead and Luna began to make wonderful magic for them, the lights and colourful fireworks lighting up the night sky creating all manners of creatures, and putting on shows without the loudness of course.
They continued into the night until they were all called out by their parents/guardians to return home for the night. Curfew was strictly enforced, by everyone, the place was too big with wild animals to even think of letting them just roam themselves. While magic should stop it, there was no guarantee with underage magical's in the group – Meghan could accidentally stop them being set off – so it was a matter of being safe than sorry.
The cupboard glowed and Harry and Daryl stepped out, but they weren't alone, no, others began to emerge. Causing everyone to sit up and take notice, until everyone was watching the newcomers with a small amount of distrust but they trusted Harry wholly, they didn't believe for a minute Harry would bring anyone dangerous.
The moment Daryl and Harry as well as the others stepped through, they were met with a very large group of people. to Daryl and Harry it was a normal every day occurrence, but for the others who had elected to come with them…it was a sight. So many people, so many Muggles it was just…odd to see.
"They look…normal," Montague admitted, staring out at the group as if they were the strangest thing he'd ever seen.
Harry snorted, "What did you expect? Them to have feet for hands?" honestly, the pureblood's prejudice was hilarious really.
"No…just they look normal," Montague said, looking deeply uncomfortable and troubled.
"That's because they are, they just don't have magic," Harry said patting him on the back, "Welcome to the real world."
"Just like squibs," Flint said, he could get behind that.
"We have a squib here, she brews potions, Marius Black's daughter Mira," Harry explained, putting his hands up causing everyone to quiet down. "And a young witch, Meghan."
Flint barked out a laugh, "Only you'd find one of the last Black's in America Potter," amused despite himself.
"Everyone I'd like to introduce you all to…friends of mine," Harry said, pausing to find the right word, "Yes, they're wizards and witches, and they're here to help. From left to right Blaise Zabini, Lavender Brown, Graham Montague, Marcus Flint, Roger Davis and Susan Bones. You'll see them coming and going quite often, they'll be spending time on the outside looking for others, and bringing back who they can."
"What does it mean for the usual outings?" Andrea asked, staring at the newcomers with a shrewd look. Sizing them up, wondering if they were useful out there without the aid of their magic.
"A few of you will be going to Hogwarts in order to aid the school in getting rid of the walkers, once we've dealt with the walkers the wards will come down allowing them to actually leave the school grounds. Mostly those who are accurate with a crossbow, the bows very easily duplicated, unlike bullets. I think they want to set up homes in Hogsmeade." Harry explained, "Others will be going with the guys, just to be on the safe side." So they didn't accidentally antagonise anyone.
"We do," Flint agreed, one of the oldest so he was in charge of their little group and where they went. That's if Harry didn't give the orders, he could see that he was definitely in charge here and nobody looked ready to contest that.
"Just remember they've survived where others didn't, and they are strong and capable," Harry warned them quietly, they'll be sent back if they tried anything and he knew his people would come to him if they needed him. He also would know if magic was used, this place was under his control, and not just because he'd cast the Fidelius Charm. "I'll give you the Secret before you head out tomorrow."
"You're leaving?" Montague asked, voice slightly shriller than normal.
"No, Mira?" Harry called out to the woman.
Mira stepped forward away from the fire pit, "Yes?"
"Take them to number 20, there will be enough room for all of them, they have everything they'll need for this evening so no need to bother with the usual routine when newcomers come in." Harry explained, "Ease them into it, will you? And guys, across the road, is the communal Hall, where you'll have your breakfast, lunch and dinner unless you head back to Hogwarts."
"Sure," Mira agreed, a sly smirk appearing on her face. "Follow me guys,"
"Okay, what's going on?" Luna demanded, a cross between cautious, curious and suspicious. "What's happened?" she knew Harry wouldn't have asked for anyone to come and the fact they were there spoke of some real big game changing plans.
Harry left out a breath, "You'll find out soon enough," his hand going through his hair, unsurprisingly Daryl was silent and looked like he was sulking, but it was his usual brooding demeanour.
Luna blinked so there was something going on and he hadn't just been forced to bring them by a stubborn Hermione or McGonagall, hell maybe even professor Snape who were the only ones who could get him to do something he didn't want to do.
"Get some rest guys, we'll see you tomorrow morning," Harry called out to everyone, well, everyone that was still there, Dale and Hershel as well as the kids were already gone to bed.
With that Harry turned and made his way down the street to his own house, Luna, Merle and Daryl following as they always did.
"What is he keeping from us now?" Rick muttered watching the retreating figures in minor resentment.
"We'll find out tomorrow," Andrea shrugged, she knew they would, Harry had never kept anything from them, and she doubted he would start now.
"We could always use the help," Lily commented, and it was true enough, she could see how overworked Harry and the other group leaders were and she hadn't been here as long some of the others. Being a nurse, she knew better than most what could happen if he didn't take a step back now and again. He had a strong core group that seem to keep him in check though, so she was hoping for the best.
"When can I begin to help?" Tara asked, not the normal day to day tasks, no she meant outside, helping with the supply runs. Harry had said no, not until she passed his inspection, and so Andrea had been teaching him everything she needed to know, Sophia too, a girl half his age! Kicking her ass, well, it was extremely embarrassing to say the least.
"When Harry says you can, just let him know when you think you're ready," Andrea shrugged her shoulders, joining the others in speculating about what was going on. Whether it had anything to do with Negan and if he'd found more information out? Or was he just spread that thin that he was doing the next reasonable thing now that he had the resources to do so, getting others joining in.
"Did you hear how he paused when he said they were 'friends'?" Michonne commented, "It was almost as if he'd use a different word to describe his relationship with them."
"Oh, I noticed," Big Tiny agreed, they all did, which made them wonder what it was all about. It wasn't as if they thought for a moment he'd let his enemies come here, no, it was probably more that their relationship hadn't been anywhere near approaching friends in the past.
"Well, whatever it is we wont know tonight," Carol commented, concerned despite herself, not at the newcomers, no more of the reason why Harry would do it, was he sick? Was there something wrong with him? She prayed to god that it wasn't the case, it was devastate Sophia if anything happened to Harry, something would one day, their like expectancy had reduced significantly, but still she hoped it was nothing serious.
Luna felt tense and coiled like a spring, there was something seriously wrong here. She knew it, hell, even Merle was tense and alert, his eyes boring into the back of his brothers head as if expecting the answer to pop out at him. It didn't take them long at all to get into the house, if anything Harry looked as if he wished it was farther away.
Harry wandered into the kitchen, hands played against the worktop still reeling over everything he'd learned.
"Harry?" Luna questioned, brow furrowed, trying to make sense of what was going on but unable to do so. she didn't have all the pieces of the puzzle, and thus until Harry spoke she'd remain perplexed.
"I'm going to be a dad," Harry sighed, rubbing his hand through his hair, "Thirteen weeks along," and Harry's face exploded in agony, it was Luna's quick action and shrieking of "MERLE!" that had Harry clued in on the fact he'd just been punched in the face by a furious Dixon.
Then there was an explosion of noise and flesh hitting flesh as the Dixon brothers began fighting. Daryl to defend Harry and Merle out of sheer frustration that his brother would forgive Harry for cheating on him.
Harry dizzy and disorientated got to his feet, blinking rapidly until his sight righted itself. Luna wasn't even paying attention to the brothers, unlike Merle she understood that Harry was the one pregnant. "Are you alright?" her tone panicked and worried.
"I'm fine," Harry grunted, his jaw ached and it bloody hurt to talk. Flicking his hand he had both brothers separated and floating in mid-air as well as silenced, so that neither were hurting his eardrums.
"You utter idiot!" Luna screeched at Merle, who remained stubbornly resolute in his action. If his brother wasn't going to stand up for himself, Merle was always going to be the one to do it. He felt rather smug as he watched the bruise already blooming on Harry's face, at least he'd got one good hit in. He'd never thought for a second that Harry would cheat on his brother.
"Luna, he doesn't know, it's not really his fault," Harry murmured, not daring to speak any louder, as she reduced the swelling, and numbed his jaw. "Thanks," flexing his jaw absently, much better.
"It doesn't make what he just did alright!" Luna stated firmly, giving Merle a glare that promised retribution, but Merle only frowned in confusion, beginning to realize he had missed something. Perhaps there was a reason his brother had been so quick to defend Harry after all. It was that Granger girl that was pregnant right?
He couldn't even ask what the fuck was going on, he was damn silenced, and he did not like it one bit.
"Let them down," Luna sighed, suddenly really tired, Daryl looked too worried to be left hanging in mid-air.
Harry flicked his hand again, and both brothers began to float down gently, and the contents of the room began to right itself. Luna pointed at Merle, making sure he knew not to come near her, she'd be liable to curse him stupid if he did. Thank Merlin there had been a counter between them otherwise she feared Merle could have done irreparable damage.
"You're a carrier?" Luna asked, awed and amazed.
"Dumbledore obliviated that particular memory from me," Harry said, gritting his teeth, wiping the blood he could feel trickling down from his mouth. Busted lip, his teeth felt a little wobbly but none were broken. "I'm fine Daryl, I've had worse," he reassured his partner who didn't look like he knew what the hell to do, and probably didn't. Neither of them had had a very…nurturing upbringing, comfort was a little foreign to them.
Merle stared between the three of them, wondering when they were going to let them in on whatever the fuck was going on.
"He didn't bloody cheat on your brother you utter idiot!" Luna said, shaking her head in disappointment.
"The fuck," was clearly mouthed by Merle and understood by the three of them.
Harry waved his hand again, releasing him from the silencing spell, "You ready to listen?"
Merle scowled before nodding, the bruise blooming on Harry's face didn't quite fill Merle with any sense of satisfaction now.
"You've seen just what magic is capable of," Harry said quietly, rubbing his jaw, "I'm what the magical world calls a carrier, I have creature blood in me, from somewhere down the line. They were hunted down and killed back in the day, it was seen as abnormal, for a bit. Before the ways of the world changed and carriers were seen as…a commodity. Carriers have the ability to carry a child to term, they're all wizards obviously, it's me that's pregnant, Merle, you're going to be an uncle."
Merle burst into guffaws, clearly thinking they were having him on, only to blink belatedly seeing they were all staring at him in all seriousness. "Wait…you're serious?" he stuttered out between bouts of uncontrolled laughter.
Harry nodded grimly, yes he was serious, yes Merle was going to be an uncle, yes he was pregnant. He used a spell to show his stomach, and nobody could mistake the outline even someone who had never seen a scan before. It was like a projector hovering from Harry's stomach.
It was at that point Merle's eyes rolled at the back of his head as he fainted.
"Well…it could have gone a lot worse," Luna sighed, staring down at her partner. Unable to help but giggle at the sight of him unconscious over some daft news. He was going to be so embarrassed later on, wounded bear embarrassed.
Daryl snorted unable to help himself, he'd never seen his brother react to anything like that. Then again, his brother didn't know much about magic, other than what he'd seen, despite being with Luna, he'd made no attempt to better understand magic, despite the fact most people wouldn't know Merle actually liked to read.
"Will we leave him to come around on his own as punishment?" Luna asked idly.
"No, we need to get this sorted as soon as possible," Harry said, moving to sit down, Daryl as always moved with him. "You need time with your brother?"
Daryl glanced at his brother before nodding, it would be a good idea.
"Alright, I guess you two can head hunting, see if you can catch anything at this time of night and in the dark," Harry agreed, hunting always made the brothers feel 'right footed' a bit better, it was something they'd been doing for as long as they could remember. It was as much as a bonding experience for the brothers as they could cope with, neither were good at expressing emotion.
"Hey, how you feeling?" Luna asked kneeling over Merle.
"Yer a sight for sore eyes," Merle murmured, god she was beautiful, an angel really.
"You fainted," Luna said, lips twitching in amusement.
"Passed out," Merle corrected her with a bark, "I lost blood,"
"A nose bleed won't have you passing out due to blood loss," Luna said, suppressing her giggles at Merle's glare.
"Yes it would," Merle insisted getting to his feet, not quite able to meet Harry's gaze, feeling all kinds of stupid. Plus, a guy getting pregnant was well out of his comfort zone, how the fuck would it come out? He shuddered internally, it was…wrong on so many levels, men weren't meant to be able to get pregnant. Yet at the same time he acknowledged it was Daryl's kid, what the fuck was he going to do being an uncle? He'd probably accidentally kill it by dropping it or some shit. Kids didn't like him, much, Sophia and Carl weren't kids, so they didn't count. Neither did Andre, who actually really liked Merle, Andre really, really adored Big Tiny and Big Tiny spent a lot of time around Merle as did Axel and Oscar.
Merle was just too awkward around kids, heck, he'd been the same with Daryl, but he'd been forced to overcome that, otherwise his brother would have starved. When he was old enough he'd got outta there, unknowingly leaving his brother to be whipped. He wished their old man was still alive just so he could kill the fucker. He was dead though, that would just have to do.
"It really wouldn't," Luna couldn't help but continue to tease.
"Little moon…" Merle sighed, he just wasn't in the mood for her gentle teasing, his mind was bloody reeling for goodness sake.
"Alright, go on, both of you, I want to spend some time with my best friend," Luna said suddenly, she understood Merle was at his wits end, and like a good partner, instead of goading him some more, she realized he needed a little space. "Bring us back something nice."
"You going to be alright?" Daryl asked, staring at his partner.
Harry smiled, genuinely, "I'll be fine," he promised him. "I'll get you some sandwiches go get your crossbow," which had been magically transferred to their bedroom while the mess had been cleaned up after the short fight, Daryl's crossbow had its own space and its where it was kept. Neither wanted to trip over the thing in the night, it was heavy, and against feet? Caused a lot of colourful swear words.
"Glad that's over with," Harry said, as he used magic to prep the sandwiches, while he still could, knowing that likely he'd need to limit his magical output soon enough. Not due to concerns for the baby…no, more like in case his magic acted up and he did something he couldn't reverse. All witches went through the same thing, and probably why they were treated even more like invalids when they got pregnant.
"Did you see it going any other way?" Luna asked, glad he wasn't actually stuck on what had happened earlier in Hilltop.
Harry barked out an amused huff, "No actually, I didn't." he knew the brothers well, sometimes better than he knew absolutely anyone else. They'd been living in each other's pockets since before the worst of the apocalypse happened. They were closer than any of the others, even Andrea and Amy and the others that made up the core group. That's not to say he wasn't close to them, he was, it was just a different sort of closeness.
"You're a carrier," Luna said, sighing softly in amazement.
Harry gave her a look as he wrapped the sandwiches, drinks and crisps up into bags for the brothers. Thank goodness for preservation charms, otherwise the crisps would have been out of date and going mouldy at this stage. "I'm still me," he told her quietly, wandering to the living room door he handed them off, giving Daryl's hand a squeeze in silent reassurance that they were okay, it eased the tenseness around Daryl's shoulders.
Daryl was actually herded out by his brother, looking as though he'd rather remain after agreeing he needed time to come to terms with everything. It was almost as if he realized he'd be leaving his pregnant partner alone, one that had just been hit by his brother. He'd imagined it, ever since he saw those books, but with the world the way it was…it didn't seem likely to ever happen. It had compounded when he'd held little Judith in his arms, he'd wanted, and now he had his own little miracle.
"But you don't understand…you're so lucky," Luna said awed, she'd grown up knowing about carriers and how special they were.
"I know I am," Harry agreed, he didn't think it would have been something he and Daryl would have decided to do together even with the potions. Then again, this place was as safe as it could ever get in this world they were living in. It wasn't as if they were at a damn open quarry sleeping around, and ending up pregnant without a hint of a safe place to lay down their heads without keeping one eye open. With how busy he was…Harry didn't think he would have allowed himself it either. Not yet at any rate. Now neither of them had the luxury of waiting.
"First trimester, do you know the sex yet?" Luna asked, suddenly changing course, almost making Harry dizzy with her abrupt turn.
"Not yet," Harry said amused.
"I assume that's the reasons you've got help here?" Luna questioned, wandering around the kitchen, grabbing two spoons and disappearing out of the room.
Harry just watched her slightly bemused.
Luna returned not even three minutes later with a tub of ice cream and a wicked grin. Sitting down next to him, she handed him a spoon and opened the container and begun to greedily dig into the ice cream. Harry shook his head in confusion but nonetheless dug in too.
"Yeah, they're here to help, this way we can get more wizarding folk here, before we're too late, I probably should have asked earlier," Harry admitted grudgingly. "That and hopefully they'll have their families with them, maybe even Non-magical's they've helped along the way." Like what he had chosen to do.
"It's a lot of people, along with Hilltop and The Kingdom," Luna pointed out, biting her bottom lip, Harry was taking too much on in his condition. At least The Hilltop people already had a place mapped out, cleaned out and everything. "How about just letting them remain where they are, The Kingdom people and putting spells around the area? I know a lot of runes…" she mused thoughtfully. It's not like the Saviors would know where they were after all. "But the new people…"
"Potter manor?" Harry suggested, "The House-elves will probably end up there, at least the majority of them," the place was probably in dire need of produce being shipped out and clipped down in order to gain some semblance of normalcy. It was with regret that much of it would be rotten and unusable until they had it fixed. "Especially if a lot of them were already exposed to magic they might feel a little more comfortable going there." He hadn't seen it yet, and would definitely be going to see it before it became a refuge for others. He'd be needed to get through the wards anyway, nobody else would be able to get in, if the wards were as strong as he assumed they were.
"You do realize you're going to have to take it easy? Right?" Luna said softly, scooping more ice cream up and eating it. "Its easier on women, I'm surprised you haven't felt weird enough to be concerned…" but he was constantly on the go and it probably meant "If you don't take it easy…you know what will happen," she didn't outright say anything, not wishing to scare him.
Harry swallowed, "I know," it wasn't going to be easy, standing back and just letting others get on with it. It wasn't in his nature, but the thought of losing his little miracle…well, he didn't want that either. He'd do it though, for the baby.
"How did Daryl react?" Luna asked, aiming the ice cream carton Harry's way so he could take some.
"Actually, he seems pretty chill about it," Harry admitted, "He didn't faint," he teased.
Luna laughed, "Honestly! You'd think I'd just told him he's going to be a father!"
"Is there any chance of that?" Harry quired in genuine curiosity.
"No, at least not yet," Luna shrugged, sure she'd settled down and would like kids, but she doubted Merle would ever be persuaded to want one. She would never trick him into having one, she performed the spells that were required to prevent a pregnancy every time they had sex – which was a lot the insatiable thing he was – given the father Merle and Daryl had – not that they gave a lot of information about it – it wasn't a surprise that they felt they wouldn't make good fathers.
"And if you can't convince him?" knowing without a doubt Luna would want a kid, kids and animals had been her first loves. The future had been wiped for all of them, with this apocalypse, now they just had this one, survival and living for the moment.
"I hope I don't have to find out," Luna admitted, a far away look in her eye, she loved Merle, but she also wanted a child at some point in her life. Before she got too old, and before Poppy passed, since she definitely wanted the only Medi-witch they had at the birth.
"He adores you, Luna, if anyone can convince him, it will be you," Harry said honestly, and Merle did love her. He watched her constantly with that look in his eye, like how the hell he had been lucky enough to end up with someone like her in his life given the life he'd had. He'd kill and die for her, that much was obvious, maybe not anyone else except his brother but that was just who Merle was.
Luna laughed a little, "Can you imagine their conversation? Grunts, glares, shoulder shrugs and brooding silences all the while hunting and having it sorted without saying a single word?"
Harry snorted, "That sounds about right," they could have entire conversations without saying a single word. He'd thought the Weasley twins were bad for it, but he'd been wrong. He wasn't sure how many times he'd sat there as the Dixons had non-verbal conversations while they thought he was completely oblivious. Something they must have got used to doing while they were hunting, if they weren't silent they wouldn't catch anything. Sound went against the whole point of going hunting, animals were easily spooked.
The brothers never let anything fester, even if it ended up in them actually fighting to get whatever was bothering them off their chest. Harry wouldn't be surprised if they came back with additional injuries they definitely didn't have when they came out.
"You'll just have to be honest with him," Harry added, to their previous conversation, "You never know, being an uncle might soften him some. Family means everything to the Dixons. Well, those two anyway, their father and mother don't deserve the titles." His lip curling, they didn't deserve the term any more than the Dursley's deserved the titles 'Aunt, Uncle and Cousin' not that they wanted to acknowledge the relation they shared.
"Fingers crossed," Luna said with a bright smile, she was going to be an Aunt, sort of twice over, as Harry's best friend and of course as Merle's significant other.
"What are you going to say to the others? Will they understand?" Luna asked, handing the near enough empty pot to Harry in order to let him finish it since she'd been eating most of it.
"It's not a matter of understanding, it's whether they can accept it," Harry explained, "They've been with me this far," he would give them all the benefit of the doubt, even Lori – who to his surprise had truly come out of her shell – Rick he didn't really care for if he was honest. They had constantly surprised him when it came to the acceptance of magic and his capabilities.
Luna smiled, a year ago, Harry would have insisted on keeping it a secret. She felt very proud of him, leaning back, "Who would have thought this would be our lives?" she confessed, staring at the ceiling grinning.
"You mean both dating brothers?" Harry teased, prodding at her with his foot. Tiredness immersing him, he hoped Daryl got back soon, he was tired but they had to talk before tonight was over. If they didn't, Daryl wouldn't sleep, he wasn't obvious about worries and fears he has, not like other people.
"Well, there is that," Luna mused, Daryl wasn't bad to look at, he was hot, there was no denying that. She didn't feel any attraction to him, she preferred her men a little more aged, although Merle would get faux insulted when she said that but she knew he was inwardly smug about it, the cheeser.
"I'm going to be a dad," Harry said, shaking his head, "Merlin…" whispering quietly.
"Technically you're a mum," Luna pointed out, "Carriers are usually the mothers, but sometimes wizards can be uncomfortable with it and come up with a different term. Father, dad, pops, papa the list is endless actually." The names weren't just from Britain after all.
"Wait, the children actually referred to their carriers as mum?" Harry asked incredulously, "I wonder if I have any books on carriers…"
"Probably quite a few, especially if you emptied the Potter-Black vaults, all the old families have books about male carriers, they were revered, I wouldn't be surprised if you have one in your family quite a long time ago." Luna said, shrugging her shoulders, "Worth a fortune too after the Ministry tried to burn all copies as if trying to wipe it from peoples memories." It never works trying to squash knowledge.
There we go! Hopefully it's worth the wait! Will we see a jump in time just a small one showing everything done or do you want to see The Kingdom being told and how they react and of course the newcomers they bring will they end up at Potter manor or will we see the ocean side folk in there and the wizarding people end up in PA? will those left behind in Hilltop regret their words (that they don't remember LOL) and become one of the walkers? OR will they survive somehow and ending up having a thriving wee community full of Harry's rejects? :P R&R please!
