The world was a big, and beautiful place, filled with the good, and the bad. Someone somewhere, was gaining the courage to ask the girl of their dreams out on a first date, if only they could. Someone somewhere, a couple, marking another year in their calendars as their anniversary rolled around.

Somewhere someone was getting their first kiss, and someone their last. Somewhere, a proposal for the start of a new beginning of the rest of their lives if that other person only said yes. Would that person walk down the long isle to be with the person they thought they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with?

To hold each other, for better or for worst, sickness and health, until death do, they part?

'Bull Shrimp' A little sponge thought as he stood in the back, watching as the couple kissed. Normally, he's thrilled to attend these kinds of events, he used to love watching young couples tie the knot, and to be a witness to the greatest moment of their lives.

The crowd started to cheer for the couple as they turned towards the crowd of guests, he watched as the other guests clapped for the couple, while some hugged and kissed each other, when his attention was brought to a new couple.

Larry the lobster, was friends with the groom, and had brought his date as a plus one, which also happened to be none other than Ivy herself. He had to give them credit, they had been dating for at least two months now, longer than the time her and Jared dated, that's for sure.

SpongeBob rolled his eyes, turning back towards the front, if he had known they were going to be here, he would have called in sick, but it didn't matter, wherever he was, she was there to follow. It didn't matter, not one bit, after the ceremony, and after all have been fed, he was going to Party, until he couldn't party no more.

Maybe he'd find a girl, and ask her to dance, although, dancing wasn't really on his mind, right now, he just wanted to be buried in the arms of another, anything to get rid of the feelings he had about her.

It was a shame, what one little person can do to you. He was fine all before these last few months, a year ago, he was happy and carefree, all he cared about was work, and his friends. Its all changed, he's been coming in late for work, and doing a sloppy job at it as well, it was almost as if the love he had for his job, and anything else that made him who he was, was gone.

He rarely seen his friends, and when he did, he avoided conversations, he hadn't Jellyfished, or even played karate, he's tried but it wasn't the same, he couldn't find the joy he once did doing the things that he loved.

He stayed out later, drank more, and brought random ladies' home, although, it wasn't as bad as it was when he first started, but it wasn't great either. What happened? Did she really hurt him that bad? It took so long to build the man that he was, to be happy and enjoy a carefree life.

When she came, it was so easy, as if it took no effort to destroy it all, what was the point of fixing anything if it was just going to get broke again?

Spongebob closed his eyes to try to shut off the thoughts that came through his mind before he wiped his face of any uninvited tears that attempted to show, he couldn't cry, not in front of her. Spongebob stood up, taking his attention back to the couple who had just kissed and turned to thank the crowd.

"Thank you all, for coming, we will now start the feast! But first, we would all like to thank The Krusty Krab for bringing us all this delicious food, everything looks great, Thank you Mr. SquarePants." The groom rose a glass of champagne towards him.

Spongebob slapped on a smile, waving to the guests, "You're welcome Frank, anything for a friend, and congratulations on getting married." Spongebob toasted with a glass of punch that he brought to his lips, his eyes scanned the room before they locked onto a familiar set of green.

Ivy stood silently clapping as she stared at him, even with everyone else in the room, she always found him to be in the center of her attention even when he shouldn't be. It hurt her more that he could ever imagine seeing him like that, his smile that he showed very often hid a lot of hurt, and sadness, and it was all because of her.

It hurt to know that the man that she loved, or had loved, hated her, and he never hated anyone, at least not as much as her. It wasn't her fault, he wanted to move on, he wanted her gone, if he wanted her, he should have said so before she left that night, but he didn't.

How long was he going to hold everything against her? She tried to make things right, she didn't have to explain or defend herself to him anymore, they weren't kids anymore, they were adults with their own lives, if she can move on, then surely, he can too.

Ivy quickly moved her hand to wipe her tears, "Hey, you alright babe?" Larry asked as he turned to Ivy, Ivy just looked up at him, she had forgot that he was there, she smiled, "yeah, I'm fine, it's just, weddings make me cry, is all." She lied.

Larry awed, "You're so cute." He said as he brushed his claw over her cheek, she blushed, "Thanks." She said as he leaned down to kiss her, instead of closing her eyes during their kiss she averted them back towards the other sponge who was talking to someone else.

Another tear escaped from her eye as she closed them to hold Larry. Larry was great guy, the perfect guy, he was strong, and attractive, sweet, and polite, a nice lover, still not as great as the other but, he was still great.

Larry had helped her though a lot, he was the reason why she had stayed, all those nights ago.

A few months ago

It was the night after she'd left SpongeBob's, she was waiting at a bus to take her out of town when Larry came walking up the sidewalk when he noticed her sitting at the bus.

"Hey, aren't you Spongebob's friend?" he stopped and asked her, she'd looked up from the bench with tears in her eyes, but she didn't say anything, Spongebob's friend? Like that was ever going to happen. Larry sat down beside her immediately, "Hey. What's with the water works?" he asked.

"Are you ok? Did someone hurt you?" he asked her, Ivy looked down at the pavement, using her hand to wipe her eyes, "I'm fine." She answered, Larry shook his head, "You don't look fine, do you want to talk about it?" he lowered his face to hers.

"Did you get in a fight with someone?" he asked her, Ivy shrugged, "I guess you could say that." She answered, "Coming here was a mistake." She said as she began to cry out loud. Larry jumped back in the seat a little, looking around to see if anyone else was around, thankfully it was just the two of them.

"Hey hey now, there's no need to cry little lady." Larry said as he began to pat her back, "I loved him so much, and I, I ruined it, he wont even look at me." She covered her face, "He? Oh, you're crying over a man? Did you break up or something?"

"Its complicated." She sniffled as she reached into her bag and pulled out a tissue.

"Well who ever he is, Ill knock him into next year for making a pretty lady like you cry, if you want me to." He said as he flexed his arm, Ivy chuckled at his comment before she let out a sigh, "Its ok, he's a good guy, really he is, uh…" Ivy pointed at him, "Larry, and he couldn't be too much of a good guy if he let you go out at this time a night." Said Larry.

"Speaking of which, where are you headed?" Larry asked her, Ivy shrugged, "Dunno, I haven't really thought about it, anywhere but here." She replied as she crossed her arms, it was starting to get a little chilly, "You're leaving town? Don't you have a home?" he asked, Ivy shook her head, "Not anymore, I turned in my keys to my apartment, I don't think I can stay here anymore."

"Why? Is it because of that dude you were talking about?" He asked, Ivy shook her head, wiping her eyes again, "He wasn't just some dude, he is the, or was, the love of my life and, I, I just cant stay here anymore." She said as she turned her head from her.

"Well, who is he to tell you where you can and cant go, Bikini Bottom is a home for everyone." Said Larry.

"Easy for you to say, since I've been here, I've had nothing but misfortune, I cant even find a decent job to keep a place." Ivy informed, "Is that all?" Larry spit out, "You know I don't mean to brag, but I own a pretty cool gym, and it gets busy. I could use someone to work the front desk, all you'd do is greet the members, and file paperwork, you'd get free access to the gym equipment as an employee."

After a few weeks of working together, things just clicked. Larry was a great guy, funny and caring, unlike most jocks, he made her feel special. He was right, just because she had a bad run with the sponge, didn't mean she had to leave, she could stay here, with Larry, and that is what she did.

At the reception.

After the ceremony everyone who attended the wedding gathered at the great reception hall, it was beautiful, lit up with lights and white flowers and some balloons. It was magical, he's never seen one so beautiful in his life, other than in his dreams when he had planned to marry Ivy when they graduated college.

It was all but a funny memory now, a thing of the past, that what just it, the past.

Still, being in the same room as them, made his blood boil, he swore that she was doing it on purpose, acting like she wanted him, kissing him, hugging him, why couldn't Larry see her for the woman that she was? Maybe she's changed.

Or maybe not.

"Are you ok buddy?" Patrick asked his friend as they stood at the catering table. Spongebob didn't answer, he only continued to work, refilling, and replacing food and drinks trying to keep himself distracted as much as he could to make the time go by faster, while everyone around them continued to celebrate.

"Oh, cheese balls!" Patrick drooled as he picked up a tray of food and dumped it into his mouth, "Hey, I just filled those!" Spongebob rose his voice, which shocked the poor starfish, Spongebob hardly ever yelled at him, especially for something as small, "Calm down, it's just cheese man, you can get more."

"Its not just cheese it's my job, Patrick! and you're only making things harder!" the sponge continued to rant, "Geez, I'm sorry, I'll put em back." Patrick said as he attempted to spit up what he had ate, but the sponge just slapped the tray away from him, "No! Its already too late, its ruined! You see this is why I can't take you anywhere, you ruin everything you touch!" he yelled, "I, I'm sorry." Patrick apologized, Spongebob slapped himself in the face.

"Sorry? Sorry is all I ever hear, sorry for what? You ruined my life! You took everything from me!" Spongebob shouted at him, he'd begun to turn a few heads that were within range. Spongebob rubbed his face, "Do you have any idea how long it took me to put it behind me? For you to just come and wreck it all."

"You don't even care." Spongebob began to shake with tears, while Patrick just stood in front of him, taking his hurtful words, he may have been stupid but he knew that the sponge didn't mean anything he was saying to him, it was meant for someone else.

Patrick wrapped him in his arms for a hug, and rubbed his back, "Its ok, little guy, Patrick's here, you can take it out on me." He soothed him as he looked around the room to find the sea witch of a sponge dancing with Larry in the middle of the room.

It was all her doing, everything that was happening to the sponge now, was because of her.

"I don't know what to do, Patrick, she's everywhere." He spoke silently while Patrick just rubbed his back and comforted him, "Its ok, buddy, I know you're hurt." He said, before Spongebob pulled back, wiping a tear, "I'm sorry that I yelled at you, I shouldn't have done that, you're a real friend." "Its ok, I know you didn't mean it." Patrick said as he rubbed the top of his friend's head.

"Come on, lets go take a seat, you've worked enough, and the table looks great." Patrick said as he led him to a table where their friends were sitting. The group looked at the little yellow sponge before they looked at each other, he looked horrible.

"Poor kid." Eugene shook his head as he poured a shot of whiskey that he'd gotten from the bartender, it was free, and handed it to the sponge, "You look like you need this." Krabs said, Spongebob looked at the glass before he looked up at his friends.

"Thanks." Was all he said before he took the shot, his face twisted as he felt it go down, and it burnt like hell, "I have a feeling I'm going to need a lot more of these." He said as he gently set the glass on the table.

"I can't believe that they invited her." Squidward said as he stared at the couple across the room, "They invited Larry, and a plus one." Sandy informed, Krabs looked back at the sponge who poured himself another shot.

"Ya know, there's plenty of single ladies here tonight lad." Krabs smiled, trying to cheer his employee up, "Yeah, if I recall, that one chick from Ballet class, has a thing for you." Squidward chimed in as he gestured to a woman that sat a few tables over, she'd been looking at him the entire night.

"She's actually kinda cute, why dontcha go say hi?" Sandy asked, before they heard a loud voice in the distance approaching, the group all groaned as they recognized it as the lobster, "Hey guys! Looks like the cool table is over here!" Larry said as he and his girlfriend approached their table, the group all passed looks to each other before they looked at Spongebob who was already working on his next shot.

"Whoa, SpongeBob's drinking?" Larry asked with surprise, "and not just the baby stuff, right on man." Larry raised his claw to cheer, but the sponge just ignored him while he took another shot and held it in his mouth for a few seconds while he glared into an empty space as he swallowed.

He let out a breath that he'd been holding in, before he looked at his friends who were all silent, "What's with the weird atmosphere in here." Larry said as he looked around the able before looking at the sponge who decided to take a long drink straight from the bottle instead of a shot.

Ivy watched in silent horror as he drank, he never drank this much, it was scary to watch him act this way, and it was all because of her, she hated to see him like this, he wasn't even looking towards them.

"You guys remember my smoking hot new girlfriend, Ivy, dontcha." Larry said as he took a seat beside Sandy while he pulled out another empty seat next to him for Ivy to sit, which also happened to be the seat right next to the other sponge.

"Yes, we remember her." Patrick said with his arms crossed as he glared at the woman, who avoided his glare, instead she keeping her eye on the sponge beside her who was pouring another shot, while he ignored them completely.

Memories of that day came to flooding into her head, her finding him at his house, drunk, how he managed to injure himself, and how she helped clean him up. Ivy could still remember the look on his face, so much hurt he held behind those blood and tears.

It was almost as if he wanted to kill himself, what would have happened if she hadn't shown up? Would he have drank until his last fill and kill himself? All because of what? A kiss?

It wasn't just the kiss, it was everything that lead up to that moment. Ivy seeing him at his job that hug he gave, she could tell from that day that he was still holding onto things, but she didn't care, she wanted to fix it, and show him that she had changed.

Change? She was with his friend which she used as an excuse to be near him, how much could she have changed?

Ivy's jaw dropped as she watched him pour yet another shot, as if it weren't a thing, "Don't you think that you've had enough?" she asked him, but he just ignored her and took the shot before he reached to pour another, but she stopped him by placing her hand on the bottle.

"You know this isn't good for you."

Spongebob stopped to look at her hand that rested on his, it was soft and cold, how dare she put her hand on his? He began to feel more annoyed, his face twitched with a feeling of anger, he glanced around at his friends who all sat silently not saying a word as they watched tension rise within their sad yellow friend.

Spongebob looked back at her hand after a few seconds and yanked the bottle from her hand, shaking his head in disbelief as he went to pour it, when she'd placed her hand over the shot to keep it from going into the glass.

"Whatever reason you're doing this for, its not a good one." She said, Spongebob just scoffed in response, "We're at a wedding, I think that's a pretty good reason to drink." He laughed a little, wiping a tear from laughter from his eye, "So that's what I'm going to do." He said as he looked towards her hand, getting angrier at each second that passed that she didn't move, "now move your hand." He instructed.

Ivy glanced around at the table before she felt something cold and wet run down her hand, she gasped as he'd began to pour the alcohol over her hand. Ivy glared at him before she looked around at the table, "You're his friends, and you're letting him drink himself to death, what kind of friends are you? It's not good for him!" she raised her voice when he slammed the bottle onto the table.

"And what? Now suddenly, yoou know what's be, best for me, wha- what are you, my mother?" he slurred his words, "Y, you act like you care, it's funny, because I really couldn't give a damn." Spongebob laughed before Larry slammed his claws on the table.

"Dude, what is your problem! Maybe you have had enough to drink, don't you ever talk to her like that, Bro, that's my lady. And she was just looking out for you." Larry said as he snatched the bottle away from the sponge which only seemed to anger the sponge even more.

"As if I needed looking after by her, or by you! Which I don't recall asking from either of you, I am an adult, and I am trying to enjoy this event, so if you don't mind, I'd like to have that back." Spongebob held out his hand, expecting him to hand it over.

"Nah, bro, you look like you've had enough, just how much of this did you have?" Larry asked as he shook the bottle around to guess the amount that was left, "This thing is nearly empty, you're drunk!" Larry pointed out, "No shit Sherlock, I was trying to finish it, give it back." The sponge demanded.

But Larry stood his ground, after a few seconds of silence Spongebob shook his head and rolled his eyes, "Screw this, and screw you," Spongebob pointed at Larry, "and FUCK YOU!" he pointed at Ivy as well before Larry yanked him up by his suit.

"Ok, that is it! You have gone too far! I think its best that someone take you home!" Larry yelled back, "Get your salty butter loving claws off me!" Spongebob fought back, shoving the lobster off him, nearly losing his balance as he caught himself as his friends attempted to catch him, "I got it, I got it, thanks." He said as he dismissed them before he turned around.

"Where are you going?" Larry asked, "I'm at a wedding, I'm going to get m, more stuff to drink, and then..." he turned to face the two, before looking down at Ivy, nearly falling over her, "I'm going to get fucked." He said as he adjusted his suit.

The table sat in shock as they watched him leave, "he's not serious, is he?" Larry asked the rest, "Wish he were kidding." Squidward replied, "Why were you guys letting him get like that." Ivy asked them, "The boys a man, and a man can handle himself." Eugene answered, "What kind of people are you, you're supposed to be his friends, and look after him." Ivy defended, "You know, I seriously doubt that you want to go there missy. I find it funny that you say that to us. You have no right here because as I remember it, you used to be his Girlfriend, at some point and you didn't look after him like you should have." Patrick spoke up.

Larry sat back, "What? What is he talking about?" Larry asked Ivy, "Oh, she didn't tell you?" Patrick asked, "tell me what?"

"Don't you find it strange that he's been giving you the stink?" Patrick asked, Larry cocked his brow, "The stink?" he questions before Larry looked through the crowd at Spongebob who was standing at the bar with mixed drink in hand and talking with a lady.

"Spongebob and your girlfriend dated in high school." Patrick said.
