After the Pro Heroes secured USJ, the police arrived to apprehend the large number of villains that attacked the facility. Kazuhiro and the rest of Class 1-A were gathered by the entrance for a headcount.
"18… 19… 20…" the police detective counted. "Other than the one who broke his arm, everyone else is relatively unharmed."
"Did Izuku break his arm again?" Kazuhiro asked.
"He has a bad habit of doing that," Kaminari commented.
"It's kinda expected," Kirishima added.
The police detective turned around for a brief moment to talk to the other officers about the next step of the investigation. This allowed the students to take a breather.
"Ojiro," Hagekure said as she tapped his shoulder. "I heard you were fired up this time What happened?."
"At first, landed by myself in the fire dome and was immediately jumped. After defeating my opponents, I immediately scouted the area to see if anyone else was around and I ran into Kimura."
Ojiro recalled the time Kazuhiro transformed into OOO's Shauta combo and used Agito's Tornador in its hoverboard mode. He said, "It was interesting fighting alongside him. That Quirk makes him a formidable fighter. What about you?"
"Oh, I landed in the landslide zone with Todoroki. He was super strong but luckily he managed to not freeze my feet off!" Hagekure exclaimed. In reality, Hagekure was just lucky that Todoroki didn't use his Quirk on her by accident.
"Well, as long as you weren't hurt."
The police detective returned and said, "Let's have the students return to their classroom for now. We won't be questioning them right away, anyway, right?
"Detective, what about Mr. Aizawa?" Tsuyu asked. The detective pulled out a phone and played a voice message left by a doctor.
"He has fractures in both arms and a facial fracture. Fortunately, there does not seem to be any serious brain damage. However, his orbital floor had broken into small pieces and his eyes may suffer from its aftereffects."
"That's what he said," the police detective said.
"What about Thirteen?" Ashido asked.
"Thirteen has been treated. The laceration from the back to the upper arm was bad but his life was not in danger. All Might will also survive since Recovery Girl's healing is enough to treat him so he's in the nurse's office.," the police detective said.
"Deku...!/What about Midoriya?!" Uraraka and Iida shouted.
"Midori...?" the police detective paused in confusion. "Oh, treatment in the nurse's office is enough for him, too.
"That's great," Uraraka said.
"You all should go back to your classrooms," the police detective said.
"Okay!" the class said in unison.
On the way back to the school, Kazuhiro sat next to Iida on the bus.
"Thanks for the save, class rep," Kazuhiro said.
"Hm, for what?" Iida asked.
"Come on, if it weren't for you, we'd all be in a worse position than before."
"Oh, it was just my duty as class representative to make sure my classmates were safe. The Pro Heroes did the saving."
"But if wasn't for you, we'd all be fodder for the villains," Sero said.
"Yeah, don't be so hard on yourself. Things would've been worse, especially with that villain that almost took out All Might.," Kirishima said.
"What do you mean almost took out All Might?" Kazuhiro asked.
"That villain with the exposed brain was a super-tough opponent. It was the first time I'd seen All Might struggle like that."
"What's concerning is that it looks like this "League of Villains" managed to modify someone's body with multiple Quirks," Todoroki spoke.
"Wait, multiple Quirks? Is that even possible?"
"Apparently so."
"If they can create villains that could make even the No. 1 hero struggle, there's no telling what an army of them could do," Kazuhiro thought. He clenched his fist. Even though this wasn't his world, he wasn't going to let it burn like his. Whether it's Hundred or the League of Villains, Kuazhiro was given this power to protect others.
Kazuhiro returned to his apartment later that day. While his body recovered from that fatigue, Kazuhiro was mentally exhausted. The whole being questioned by the police was a lot of waiting beforehand and when it was his turn, it was two dozen questions. It dragged on because the police wanted clarification. The first thing Kazuhiro wanted to do was fall into his bed and sleep.
However, when he opened his door a portal was at the other side of the corridor. It was similar to the one that teleported him into this world. He saw purple eyes staring right at him. Kazuhiro tried to step back but he was grabbed by the collar and pulled into the portal.
On the other side was the interior of a parking structure. Kazuhiro looked around as the Decadriver materialized around his waist. He muttered, "Am I back in my home world?'
"Far from it, you're in mine," a voice said from behind.
Kazuhiro turned around to see a man in dark grey armor and a black suit underneath. His suit had a yellow line running across it, forming an X in the chestpiece. His helmet had a circular, purple r visor with an X in the middle. On his side was an X-shaped sidearm. His belt also had a slot where a phone was inserted.
"Who are you supposed to be?" Kazuhiro asked.
"Kaixa. Kamen Rider Kaixa," the man introduced himself.
"I figured he looked somewhat similar to one of the Kamen Riders I have. If he's a Rider, he could be on my side but grabbing me and throwing me on the ground could mean he has other intentions," Kazuhiro thought. He said out loud, "So, seeing how you rudely grabbed me, I'm guessing you're not for the classic superhero team-up?"
"You guessed right, I'm not here to play friendly," Kaixa said as he unholstered his sidearm. "I fought against Decade in the past and I hate to admit but he's one of the deadliest warriors I've fought. You inheriting such a power is a waste of it, and I'm here to claim it."
"Are you with Hundred?"
"You think I'd associate with them? I'm only interested in furthering my agenda."
"If you're interested in your agenda then we should fight them together. They're the ones who want to conquer every world they come across."
"Not going to happen, I'm going to pry that belt off your dead body," Kaixa said. He opened fire with the Blaygun, his X-shaped sidearm. Kazuhiro managed to duck and insert the Decade card into his belt.
"Transform!" Kazuhiro shouted.
[Kamen Ride: Decade]
After transforming, Decade immediately started firing back with the Ride Booker in his hand. Kaixa took cover behind a column. When he fired back, Decade rolled into a column for cover. Decade and Kaixa both ran out of cover, spraying at each other. The two Kamen Riders ran across the parking lot, taking cover while trying to shoot each down. They took cover behind two different columns.
Decade pulled out a Rider Card and inserted it into the belt.
[Kamen Ride]
Decade and Kaixa both ran out of cover to charge at each other. Kaixa tried to shoot Decade but he quickly pressed the buckle together.
[Blade] [Turn up]
A giant, blue card projected out of Decade's belt, which shielded him from the bullets. In the center was a beetle. When he ran through the card, he transformed into Kamen Rider Blade. The Rider had a blue undershirt with silver pieces of armor. The chestpiece had a notable spade symbol on the chest area. The face of the helmet resembled the horn of a Hercules beetle. The eyes of the visor are red. Kamen Rider Blade, the Ride Booker turned into the Blay Rouzer, a sword with an upside-down spade symbol along with a foldable card tray.
Blade slashed Kaixa across the chest before swinging his sword once more to launch Kaixa back to the ground. Kaixa fired his Blaygun at Blade however he deflected both bullets fired at him as he charged towards him. Kaixa got up and ducked under Blade's swing. Blade swung his sword as he turned around to face Kaixa. He quickly pulled out a memory card from his belt and inserted it into the Blaygun.
[Ready]
A blade ejected itself out of the bottom of the Blaygun. Kaixa managed to block Blade's attack last minute. With a single push forward, he managed to make Blade lose his balance. Kaixa took the opening and cut through Blade's chest. The spade-themed Rider managed a follow-up attack. Their swords clashed for a bit before Kaixa kicked Blade in the stomach. Blade's grip was loose enough to have the Blay Rouzer fly out of his hands as he was kicked down. Kaixa held the Blaygun properly, raising the weapon to finish off Blade. Blade quickly inserted a card as he got up and activated it.
[AttackRide: Metal]
Blade's entire body turned into metal as Kaixa tried to strike him down. His body was well-protected with the metal coating his entire body. Blade punched Kaixa in the stomach to get him away. He then inserted a card into the Decadriver once more.
[AttackRide: Thunder]
A projection of a card appeared in front of Blade, one with a deer symbol and it was absorbed into his chest. Kaixa rushed towards Blade once he recovered. The Blay Rouzer materialized in his hands and he pointed it at Kaixa, unleashing a flurry of lightning bolts at him. The force of the bolts pushed back even further.
"Are we done with whatever this is or are you still going to act like a psychopath?" Blade asked.
"This is far from over," Kaixa said. Blade heard a motorcycle driving in from his left. He turned and was immediately rammed by said bike. The bike was black with golden trimmings. It had a sidecar attached to its left side. The motorcycle sped to the side of the parking lot and flew off, crashing through the small wall.
Luckily for Blade, it wasn't a high fall. It was only a story high. Blade landed on his front, the armor absorbing a lot of the impact. That didn't mean that he didn't feel any of the impact. The Side Basshar quickly transformed into a two-legged walker, with the sidecar becoming its legs. Kaixa jumped down from the second floor and landed on the driver's seat. Kaixa quickly kicked Blade like a football (AN: pick your poison). It sent him flying a fair distance away from Kaixa.
As Blade got up, the walker had missiles ready to fire. Blade quickly summoned another card into his hand and inserted it into his belt.
[Final AttackRide: B-B-B-Blade!]
Kaixa fired half a dozen dozen missiles that split off into smaller missiles. Three cards materialized behind him. There was a deer, a grasshopper, and a jaguar card that were all absorbed into different parts of Blade. The grasshopper and jaguar were absorbed into Blade's leg while the deer was absorbed into his chest.
[Lightning Sonic]
As the missiles landed around him, Blade suddenly gained a burst of speed and maneuvered through the storm of missiles. Once Blade got close, he jumped into the air and extended his leg to kick Kaixa and his walker, lightning generating at his feet. He kicked through the walker and caused a massive explosion. Kaixa landed on the ground as Blade reverted into Decade. The card-wielding Rider began to feel a slight dizziness and fatigued. This was because he pushed himself earlier today with the attack on USJ.
As Kaixa got up, the portal appeared in front of him again. He tugged on an invisible tie and said, "Looks he already seen enough."
The portal took Kaixa away, leaving Decade alone. The only thing he could do right now was to wonder where he was.
"Am I even back in Futo?" Decade asked. He looked up to see a giant windmill. "I guess not."
"You're in Futo but it's not your Futo," a voice said. Decade turned around to see an older man with glasses and a light-brown coat and hat.
"Are you the one responsible for sending that sociopath after me?" Decade asked.
The older man chuckled, "You're almost as witty as the original."
"The original? You mean the first Decade?"
"That's right. My name is Narutaki. I was associated with Decade. I met him while he was running around and interfering with the affairs of other worlds, bringing unbalance and nearly causing the destruction of them all. At the very least, he can pull himself together and do some good."
"I can't tell if you hate him or like him."
"I have my reasons for both. However, that was in the past. I'm more interested in you since you inherited the power of the Destroyer of Worlds. It seems you haven't touched its true potential."
"So it wasn't hyperbole. I thought Hundred was over-hyping its true powers. I use my powers for over a little an hour or two and I get exhausted," Decade admitted. "Less than that if I push how much I can use."
"It appears that your body isn't used to handling the powers of Decade. Eventually, your body will adapt to it but as of now, you can only use a fraction of it. Like how other things in life grow, your powers are exponential. It will be little by little before it gets rapid."
"Thanks for the heads-up about my powers but I'm sure you aren't here just for a quick lecture," Decade said.
"Correct," Narutaki nodded. "I tracked you down so I can learn what kind of person you are. I needed to see how well your hero training is treating you. It seems that you're growing in quite an adept fight but you're far from ready to be a part in the war against Hundred."
"The war against Hundred?"
Narutaki nodded once more and said, "Hundred still has its clutches on multiple worlds however another hero is currently challenging their reign. I'm sure you'll cross paths with him, especially since you are Decade's legacy."
"What about my world? That world you pulled me from wasn't my home."
"Unfortunately I can't determine what world you're from."
"Dammit," Decade said.
"Still, continue going to that hero school. Learn what you can and enjoy the calm before the storm. The other Riders will do what they can to hold back Hundred."
"Is it right for me to just go to school while the others fight?"
"You're still inexperienced. I saw you fight against those low-level thugs at the facility. The forces of Hundred is a titan when compared to them."
"I've fought against Hundred already, I'm ready."
"You fought their equivalent of low-level grunts. You're not ready to face their generals and their direct subordinates. You can't even summon an Aurora Curtain."
"An Aurora Curtain?" Decade questioned. The portal that teleported him here appeared in front of him. "Oh, so that's what they're called."
"Continue your journey, Decade. The end is far so prepare however you can," Narutaki said. The Aurora Curtain swooped over Decade, teleporting him back to his apartment.
Decade looked around and closed the door. He de-transformed and lay in bed, reflecting on what just happened.
The first thing Kazuhiro did when he woke was to inform Principal Nezu of what transpired yesterday. Aizawa was present despite the injuries he sustained at the USJ attack. He was covered in bandages with two casts. His eyes were even covered.
"Are you sure you should be out of the hospital bed, Aizawa?" Kazuhiro asked.
"My injuries don't prevent me from checking on my student," Aizawa said, muffled beneath his bandages.
"Don't worry about Aizawa. It's going to take a lot more than that to get him bedridden," Nezu said. Kazuhiro glanced at Aizawa, thinking he should be in bed right now. "So, you mentioned how you were attacked by another Kamen Rider?"
"I was," Kazuhiro nodded. "A portal that took me here appeared at my apartment and he dragged me through it. He took me to another world and it seemed someone wanted to test what I've learned so far at UA."
"Someone else ordered the Kamen Rider to attack you?" Aizawa asked.
"His name is Narutaki. He knew the last person to go by Decade. He told me what was going on outside this world. Hundred is invading several worlds but other Kamen Riders are fighting to prevent their forces from conquering them."
"Do they know that you're here?" Nezu asked.
"No, they are probably distracted with the other Kamen Riders fighting across the other worlds," Kazuhiro said.
"As long as those riders keep Hundred at bay, you should be able to continue your training."
"It still feels wrong. I'm here going to school, having a semblance of a normal life while others suffer."
"If Hundred somehow obtained your powers, it would be a lot worse for everyone," Aizawa said.
"I get that part. It's just frustrating," Kazuhiro admitted.
"You're just a student. There are dozens of villainous acts being committed at every given moment and yet many students are still in school," Aizawa said.
"Aizawa has a point. You can't have these types of expectations right off the gate. You still have a lot to learn," Nezu said. Kazuhiro nodded. He looked at Aizawa once again, thinking he should probably stay at the hospital.
Later that morning, Kazuhiro entered the classroom and was immediately The class was talking about the news report this morning that covered yesterday's attack.
"Hey, Kimura, did you see the news this morning?!" Kaminari asked.
"The news?" Kazuhiro asked back.
"Yeah, they showed at least everyone on screen for at least a second!" Kaminairi exclaimed.
"I didn't, I just woke up and headed straight to school," Kazuhiro said.
"You should see it. You were there for a couple of seconds."
"Exposure like that, we might get noticed by the Pros!" Kirishima shouted. Suddenly, Iida came in running into the class.
"Everyone! The school day is about to start! Stop talking and take your seats! We're already in our seats.
"You're the only one who's not in their seat," Sero pointed out. Iida sat down in his seat, grinding them together while quietly cursing himself.
Ashido turned around, leaning her chair back. "Hey, Tsu!" She lost balance and almost fell but Tsuyu managed to catch her. "... So, who do you think is going to teach homeroom today?"
"Well, Aizawa-sensei is still in the hospital. With the amount of injuries he has, we might get a substitute," Tsuyu responded. Kazuhiro already knew who it was going to be and he just came into the classroom.
"Morning," Aizawa announced as he walked into the class.
"Aizawa, you're back so soon!" most of the class shouted.
"Sir, does that mean you're all right?!" Iida asked as he raised his hand in a quick motion.
"Does he "all right"?"Uraraka asked, showing a lot of concern for her teacher. He walked as if he was limping.
"My well-being is not important," Aizawa said. "What's more important is that your fight isn't over yet."
"Are there still more villains to fight?" Kazuhiro muttered. The class was tensed up, anticipating something major.
"The UA Sports Festival is coming up," Aizawa said.
"Why would you scare us with something like that?!" most of the class cried in unison.
Kirishima couldn't hold his excitement. He got up from his seat and shouted, "Alright, let's go kick some ass!"
"Wait a second!" Kaminari said, holding Kirishima down. Both he and Jirou had similar concerns about the events.
"Isn't it too soon to have an event like that right after USJ?" Jirou asked.
"Yeah, they could attack us when we're all there in the same place," Ojiro added.
"The administration thinks that this is the best way to show the threat has been neutralized and that the school is safe. Security will be bumped up as a precaution," Aizawa said. "The sports festival will be a great opportunity for you. It's not an event that we should cancel just because a few villains broke in."
Kazuhiro was confused and raised his hand. He said, "Aizawa-sensei, are you sure it's okay for the school to hold such an event? It's just a sports festival."
"Wait, Kimura, don't you know how big the sports festival is?" Izuku asked.
"I mean, it's just a sports festival. Who's going to be interested in watching a bunch of high schoolers do physical activities?" Kazuhiro asked.
"Our sports festival is one of the biggest events in this world. Back then, the Olympics was the biggest event in world television, but ever since Quirks overshadowed them their viewership has been drastically lowered."
"The Olympics becoming irrelevant? That's insane."
"They're been unpopular for decades. Their regulations ensure that no one uses their Quirks and prohibit people with heteromorphic-type Quirks from participating," Izuku explained.
"Come on, don't tell me you're like the one Olympic viewer in this whole school?" Kirishima joked.
"They're right. If you care about competition, there's only one event in the sports festival that matters, the UA sports festival."
"It's important for students like us because that's where we'll get scouted," Yaoyorozu said.
"She's right, a lot of students from UA get scouted in these events. Once we graduate, we can work at hero agencies as sidekicks," Kaminari explained.
"But that's just as far as some people go. Some people just miss their chance to go indie and end up as sidekicks," Jirou said. She couldn't but tease him more. "I think that's where you are headed since you're kinda dumb."
Kaminari winced a the snarky comment.
"Joining a hero agency can garner you a lot of experience and popularity. That's why it's important because it opens a lot of opportunities for you. If you want to go pro one day, this event will open that path for you," Aizawa said. "One chance a year, three in a lifetime. No aspiring hero wouldn't want to miss this festival. That means I don't want to see you guys slack off on any of your training."
After class, a few of Kazuhiro's classmates tried to leave but they were met with a large crowd blocking the way.
"What's going on here!" Uraraka yelled in surprise.
"Do you have any business with Class 1-A?" Iida asked.
"What's the big idea? I won't let you guys block us off!" Mineta shouted.
"They're trying to scout us out, idiots," Bakuguou spoke. "We survived a villain attack so they just want to see us with their own eyes. At least they know what a future pro looks like, so move out of the way, extras!"
Kazuhiro rolled his eyes. The whole "main character syndrome" is starting to get tiresome, and he wasn't the only one who shared his opinion as Iida attempted to call him out.
"You can't just call everyone you don't know extras!" Iida shouted.
A voice from the crowd spoke up. "So this is Class 1-A."
A boy with purple hair made his way to the front of the crowd. He said, "I heard you guys were impressive but seeing you person, you just look like an ass. Is everyone in this class as arrogant as you or are you the only one?"
Bakugou showed his frustration by groaning and furrowing his eyebrows. Izuku and the others around Bakugo nodded no.
"How sad is it to find a bunch of ego-maniacs in the hero course? I wanted to be in the hero course but like many students here, I was forced to get on a different track," the purple-haired boy said.
Kazuhiro looked down at his desk. While he understands that his circumstances forced him to attend the school, there are probably dozens of students who wanted to be a part of the hero course but couldn't. If people found out that he was the extra student, they could easily hold a grudge for being an exception.
"I didn't cut the first time around. However, if we show ourselves at the sports festival, the teachers might consider moving some of us to the hero course," the boy said. "However, that must mean that they'll have to transfer some of you out."
"I'm not here to "scout out the competition" like my classmates are. I'm here to let you know that if you don't have your a-game at the festival, I will take your spot. Consider this a declaration of war," the boy warned.
Kazuhiro felt the intensity of his words. Even though he's here under special circumstances that doesn't mean special treatment. If he fails out of the class he won't get a freebie, and this applies to being replaced by someone better.
"Hey!" a silver-haired boy shouted. "I'm from Class 1-B from next door! I heard that you've fought some villains so I wanted to see if that's true! But all I see are a bunch of arrogant brats!"
Bakugou walked away, not acknowledging the silver-haired student from next door. He shouted, "I'm talkin' to you! Don't ignore!"
"Hey dude, where are you going? You gotta say something! It's your fault that everyone is hatin' on us now!" Kirishima shouted.
"They don't matter. The only that's important is that I beat them," Bakugou spoke.
For some odd reason, Kazuhiro felt like Bakugou wasn't trying to demean these people. It was like he was trying to state an obvious fact. Although would probably leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth because of what he said earlier. Still, there are probably experienced Quirk users among the students outside the hero course.
"That was such a manly exit," Kirishima praised.
"You said it," Sato said.
"We have to beat them. He wasn't wrong," Tokoyami added.
Kazuhiro stood up and proceeded to walk towards the exit. He took the other door since there wasn't a huge crowd. As he walked down the hallway, he took the words of Bakugou seriously. He was lucky to get into the hero course and now he has to fight to stay in it. The festival was two weeks from now, and given how Narutaki said that Decade's power growth is exponential, he will have to go all out during training.
Author's Corner
This chapter is meant to be a sorta epilogue to USJ. Again, I apologize for skimming and skipping the main events from the original series but again, this is MHA through Kazuhiro/Kamen Rider Decade's perspective. I will keep some scenes around for needed context but for now, I'm going under the guise that people who read this story have watched the series.
Anyway, as for the chapter itself, this is just the taste for more Kamen Rider-related stuff to pop in. Of course, all of that will happen right after the Sports Festival. The next chapter will be a little prologue of Kazuhiro meeting another student of UA. Look forward to it!
Response corner:
An0therName (from chapter 7): Yep, it's just a way to make sure Decade isn't all that powerful right off the bat. Again, it is supposed a foil to One for All. Of course, instead of breaking his bones, Kazuhiro would instead feel tired, fatigued, and dizzy. I think the comparison I wanted to make is to make an untrained person driving a fast race car or riding a rocket ship. In time and with proper training, the effects will lessen to the point of non-existence but as of now, Kazuhiro needs more training.
