Chapter 1616

Specific Information

John Henry hoped to find something from the phone data Bob and Jim sent him. He thought he may have come across a few hits.

"I'd like to take a look at those." Summer said.

John Henry was a little surprised at her arrival. It was unannounced as usual.

Summer took her place in the rear where she normally sat. CamNet already informed her there were some potential targets. She knew there was some other activity going on out of Cameron's base. So far she hadn't been given any direct information about what was occurring. She knew it was being conducted as an 'off the books' operation.

She didn't want to second guess CamNet or Cameron. She would still be interested in whatever it was they were up to. Maybe there were a few things she could look into there later on. The current Resistance operation was her focus.

She wanted to make sure Derek and Kyle were given maximum protection in their current operation. It was being run as an 'off the books' operation as well. She picked up on some gang activity along one of the rail lines. The initial reports were there were some dead, and a number of wounded as two gangs fought each other. It was a little more involved and violent than it usually was. Normally just a few shots were exchanged between the groups. It appeared the fight spread beyond the rail line and moved out into some of the surrounding areas. She was sure there was a little more going on than the initial police reports indicated. CamNet didn't provide her with any additional information. She didn't think it was prudent to ask. None of the Resistance personnel were involved.

The operation Bob's team was on didn't appear to be gang related. It certainly wasn't related to any Resistance matters. She did understand the need for Derek and Kyle to want to strike a blow at future Scavengers. She didn't see the gangs as much different either. Those who chose to operate outside of the system or law now were more than likely all going to be future Scavengers. She didn't like what was done to Allison and the other girls from the alternate future. It was even more reason to eliminate as many future Scavengers as possible.

John Henry tried to keep track of what Summer was up to. He understood she wanted to keep the Reese brothers out of harm's way as much as possible.

Summer decided to let the problems deal with each other. She contacted CamNet with some specific information.

Cam-Holly and Sarah spent some time with each other. Holly wanted to do some role playing in her borrowed chassis.

Sarah was more than eager to participate. She was very pleased to be able to be with 'Cameron', even if it wasn't really 'Cameron'. She was very tired from the workout. There was no way for her to keep up with a Metal girl. There was especially no way for her to keep up with a Metal girl playing 'Cameron'. Things concluded with a grand finish on her part. She really regretted all the years she missed not being able to experience the same things. It was all right in front of her.

Between bouncing from men to men, or different groups of men, she was able to experience a few female lovers mixed in. She always found it much less violent and much more rewarding. It didn't take her long when she was training to learn what her currency was. It was the use of her body. Never once did any of the men ever provide her with a finish. The few females she was with all were able to do so. She didn't want to think about the past. It was all painful enough the first time. She was very content where she was now.

"I had a wonderful time." Sarah finally managed to say once she got her breath back.

Cam-Holly was very pleased with her borrowed chassis. It still didn't compare to her own chassis. She wondered where Allison was at. She needed to check on her and see what was happening with operations.

"I need to see if there's anything I can help with." Cam-Holly said.

Sarah wanted to check in on Kyle. She told him she would have dinner ready when he returned. She also needed to check on Jan.

Sarah and Cam-Holly both dressed.

They were about to part.

Sarah moved close and gave Cam-Holly another deep slow kiss.

They took off in different directions.

Riley and Samantha continued to share. They tried a few new things.

"I hope you don't mind if I brought a few of Sheila's toys with me." Samantha said.

Riley was excited to try them out. She wondered if Samantha could borrow a male chassis. She thought better of it. Derek said he didn't care if she shared with a female lover. It was the way of the future. So far she was with almost all of the females at the base. She pushed things a little further than she probably should have. She didn't have any regrets but she needed to think about Derek as well.

Wait. She really did need to think about Derek. She didn't know when he'd be back. She needed to think about Precious as well.

"I'm going to check on Precious. I know Derek's on a recon, which is a little more than a recon." Riley said. "I need to check on him and see what's happening and see about getting some dinner ready for him. I don't think I'm going to have much dinner for Precious."

Riley reached up and gave herself a squeeze on both sides. There was only a drop which appeared on one side. It disgusted her to know she was unable to produce. She knew it wasn't her fault. Somehow it felt like it was.

Samantha was following the 'off the books' operation through her com as they shared. Things just started to pick up.

"We can check everything out." Samantha said. "Precious is still asleep."

Riley was a little surprised. She was rather 'vocal' during some of their sharing.

Samantha and Riley both got dressed. There were a few things they needed to take care of. The operation Derek was on and Precious were the two most pressing.

The girls left the indoor shooting range. They were on their way towards the outdoor area where they could operate other types of equipment. All of them had a blast driving the tank over the vehicles in the parking lot.

They drove for a little while towards the new location. Holly-Cam was currently behind the wheel.

The Metal girls occupied themselves with Mary, Laura, and Leticia.

"How much farther is it?" Laura asked.

Ally was currently with her.

"Far enough for me to get you off one more time." Ally said.

Mary knew it didn't take the 'special girls' long to accomplish it with any of them.

"You all seem to be able to do it anyway." Mary said. "I guess it's one of the advantages of being what you are."

Cammy currently shared with Mary.

"Isn't it wonderful?" Cammy asked.

Sheila previously moved to the rear seat with Tricia and Leticia.

"I don't hear anyone complaining." Sheila said.

Leticia managed to free herself from Sheila and Tricia.

"When we get there, what exactly will we do?" Leticia asked. "Maybe we need to get all of our clothes back on before we arrive."

The girls were all in various states of dress as to what clothing they actually still wore. They all began to dress as they neared the perimeter of the compound.

The Metal girls could all hear the sound of a heavy machine gun firing.

A few seconds later Cameron and Young Allison could see the P-51. It was in a shallow dive to gain more airspeed. It was level as it flew over the runway.

"Wow!" Young Allison said. "He's really moving. How fast is he?"

The sound of the Merlin engine at full throttle was music to her ears. She could see the Mustang was in its natural aluminum finish. It didn't have military markings on it. There was a big number on the side of it where the insignia would normally go.

Cameron made the calculation. She identified the aircraft for how it was currently being used. It wasn't uncommon in the time period. It would actually lead to much abuse, and then later neglect of the historic aircraft.

"It's an air racer." Cameron said. "He's just over four hundred miles an hour. He's really pushing it."

The Mustang was gone from view as quickly as it appeared. They could still hear the engine but it was no longer running at full throttle. They watched as the plane gained some altitude as the pilot cut back on the power to slow it down.

"Where do you think he's going to go when he lands?" Young Allison asked.

Cameron could see there were numerous buildings scattered throughout the area. Most of them were left over from when the military controlled the location.

"I don't know." Cameron said. "I guess we'll find out soon enough. He's coming around to land."

They could see the landing gear was down as the Mustang approached.

Cameron could hear the pilot cut back on the power, but not quite all of the way.

"He's going to do a touch and go." Cameron said.

They both watched as his wheels touched the runway for a few seconds, and then he took back off. He left the landing gear down as he came around again in a tight turn. It appeared as if he was going to land on his current approach.

Young Allison knew in modern times there were a number of Warbirds parked in some of the hangars. She was there with Cameron to visit some of them before. One of the aircraft was an acclaimed air racer which was prominent at Reno.

"I think we'll see some more Warbirds if we drive around a little longer." Young Allison said. "There's always something here."

They moved up to the far edge of the hangar where the Galaxie was parked. The tarmac and taxiway were directly in front of them. The runway was a little further to the north.

They watched the Mustang come back and land. As soon as his wheels were on the ground, the power was cut back on the engine. It wouldn't be a 'touch and go' this time. It always sounded like the engine was running a little rough when it was at idle compared to when it was at full throttle. Then again, the design of the engine was to be able to run at full throttle. It was a lot like a muscle car with a high lift cam at idle. Everything smoothed out as the RPMs picked up.

It turned around and came back on the taxiway after a short distance. They watched as the pilot wagged the tail back and forth to make sure the path in front of him was clear. Since it was a tail dragger, forward visibility always left a little to be desired. They could see the canopy was open.

The pilot looked over in their direction. They both waved at him. They watched as he turned back and looked again. When Cameron waved, there was nothing to hold her skirt down. She casually held her left hand against the side of the hangar as she waved with her right hand. The near constant wind around the Mojave area lifted her skirt up to give the pilot a good view of the 'goods'.

Young Allison didn't want Cameron to get carried away. She gave her the same reminder she was given.

"I'm pretty sure the pilot will talk to us now." Young Allison said. "Remember, your face, my face, our face, will open any door. Some things should remain a mystery."

Cameron smiled. She took a good look at the aircraft parked on the tarmac. She spotted something which seemed out of place for the Mojave area. The area around them was desert terrain.

"There's a PBY-5A parked down there." Cameron said. "I didn't really expect to see an amphibian here. The Consolidated Catalina is rather popular in post war years."

Young Allison never saw one in person before. She viewed plenty of images.

"It's a shame the majority of them no longer have the nose turret." Young Allison said. "It distracts from their Warbird appearance."

Cameron understood the reasoning. It helped improve the aerodynamics of the aircraft to a certain extent. It also gave the hull better water tight integrity.

"It cuts down on drag without it." Cameron said. "Some of the owners have taken things a step further and replaced the R1830 engines with R2600 engines. Some of them were referred to as 'Super Catalinas', or as a 'Super Cat'. It gives a plane a major horsepower increase, even if it cuts down on the range some. It's especially useful when the plane is used as a water bomber. It could carry four thousand pounds of ordinance as well."

Young Allison knew the Catalina was used in a number of different roles during World War II and over the years. A number of Catalinas were constructed as a PBY-5. The 'A' in the PBY-5A designation indicated it was an amphibian and equipped with landing gear. The earlier versions were seaplanes.

"If I remember correctly, the only successful torpedo attack at the Battle of Midway was carried out by a Catalina." Young Allison said. "None of the torpedo bombers made it. The Devastator was devastated in its attacks. The Mitchell and Marauder aircraft, which each carried one torpedo below the fuselage, never were able to use them."

Cameron was aware of the versatility of the Catalina and other seaplanes in wartime. Not all of them were amphibians.

"Some Catalinas were outfitted to carry two aerial torpedoes." Cameron said. "They could carry bombs and depth charges as well. Some of the other seaplanes actually contained a bomb bay in each engine nacelle under the wings. The engines were mounted over the top of the wing on a Catalina. It was a very versatile aircraft. It was used by all branches of the military, as well as numerous other nations. Some of those nations will still use it in military service for two more decades. A large number of Canadian planes will survive. They were referred to as the Canso. Some PBY-6A Catalinas will also survive. It's the improved version with a slightly different and taller tail."

Young Allison thought they could look at the Catalina later on. Right now she thought there was something else they could view.

"Are we going to go down and take a look at the P-51?" Young Allison asked.

Cameron and Young Allison headed back between the hangars to get to the Galaxie so they could drive down to where the Mustang went.
