Maia opened her eyes, as vision slowly returned to her. She looked around to see she was seemingly standing on an endless plane. She was standing in ankle deep water, as the night sky was indigo with hundreds of stars dotting the sky.
"Huh?"
She took a couple of steps around, confused at where she was. She saw a particularly bright light on the horizon, and started to walk towards it, before she felt a hand grab her shoulder.
"Hold up Maia, that's not where you want to go."
Maia turned around to see who had grabbed her and cried out, falling backwards into the water with a splash.
"...yeah, that's the reaction I expected."
"Y-You-?! What-?!"
Kanade Amou stood over her, wearing a white cloak, though it was open at the front to show the pink dress that she had worn at her last concert. The clothes were slightly torn.
"W-Wait… if you're here… does that mean…?" Maia realized.
"Do you remember what happened?" Kanade asked.
Mai looked down, and put a hand over her stomach. The same place Rui had stabbed her with her own weapon, before moving it up to where Rui had slashed her with her blade.
"I…"
"Still, that was hella reckless of ya." Kanade said, holding out a hand. "I mean, using both Basa and the kid's Relics at the same time?"
Maia took the hand as Kanade helped her stand. "I… It was to…"
"Get your best friend back, right?" Kanade said. "Yeah, I know."
"How do you-?"
"Being dead has its perks." Kanade said.
"So… I'm dead too?" Maia asked.
"Well, almost." Kanade said. "Right now, you're in a coma. Basa's been in your hospital room any chance she gets, and that girl Shuri, she's been doing everything she's can for you. Those two really do care about you."
Maia felt touched by that, but at the same time worried.
"So, you got time to catch up?" Kanade said. "It's been a while, buddy."
"Wait, is this real?" Maia asked.
"Well, for all I know, I could be just a figment of your imagination going haywire thanks to you being almost dead." Kanade said. "But eh, not really."
"That doesn't help at all."
"Fine, I am real. Happy?" Kanade shrugged. "Gonna guess that you using Gungnir caused my spirit or something to manifest or some crap. Anyways, how've you been doing?"
"Uh…" For once, Maia was at a loss for words. After all, how do you talk to a friend who died while you're probably dead too?
"Yeah, I suppose this is hella awkward." Kanade said. "But I will say, you girls have come a long way after the concert."
"You… did say you saw everything, right?" Maia asked.
"Yup." Kanade confirmed. "You guys stopping Miss Ryoko, then that whole thing with FIS and then that little genocide girl."
"Well, I guess you saw-"
"Maria, yeah?" Kanade said. "Well, I'm honestly glad Tsubasa found a new partner."
"Y-You sure?" Maia said.
"Well, I'm dead, so…"
"Fair enough. But still, if I'm here… guess I really did fail." Maia said, tightening your fist.
"What?" Kanade said. "Just cause of that, you're gonna give up on life?"
"I failed my friend." Maia said. "I…"
"What's a little fight between friends?" Kanade asked. "Can't be the first time you two had one."
"It's different, because Rui… she…"
"C'mon, where's my cheerful buddy Maia at?" Kanade said, pinching Maia's cheeks. "You're acting just like Basa did when we were partners."
"E-Eey! Ret go uh ma fafe!" Maia said, though she was left grinning after Kanade let go.
"There's that smile!" Kanade said. "I've missed seeing it!"
"Heh… ha ha!" Maia laughed. She had forgotten that it was almost impossible to keep a straight face when Kanade was around.
"You just gotta keep smiling, and keep on pushing, got that?" Kanade said, tapping Maia on the shoulder. "And if your partner doesn't get it yet, give 'em a good slap or punch. It'll help snap 'em back to reality."
Maia's smile faded slightly as she looked down.
"She is your friend, isn't she?" Kanade asked, arms crossed.
Maia reached into her coat pocket, pulling out the keychain of Kamen Rider Decade. What she had thought was the last gift from Rui.
"...yeah… you're right." Maia said. "Rui's my friend. And I'm not gonna let this little setback stop me from getting her back."
The stars soon started to shine brighter, as the water started to rise.
"Well, it was fun talking to you." Kanade said, before giving Maia a pat on the forehead. "Now go back to the land of the living already. I took a look at the crap that was going on, and it's pretty bad up there. Get back to your sis and girlfriend; they need you."
"G-Girlfriend?" Maia said, before shaking her head. "No no, Maia, now's not the time to get flustered. Um… do you want me to tell Tsubasa anything?"
"Just tell her I'm proud of her. Same with Hibiki, she's doing Gungnir proud." Kanade said softly. "And that I'll always be watching over you guys."
Maia said nothing, as her hair shadowed her eyes. When the water reached waist level, she stepped forward and pulled Kanade into a hug.
"Heh, and I thought Basa was the crybaby." Kanade said, returning the embrace.
"It was good to see you again." Maia said, trying to keep her voice from shaking.
"Right back at ya." Kanade said. "Heh, funny to think that you're technically older than me now."
"Yeah…"
"I can't stay much longer." Kanade said, as she started to glow white. "I better not see you again until you're an old lady, you hear me?"
The two broke the hug, as the water rose past their heads. Kanade smiled and waved, before disappearing, fading away into the clear water.
Maia looked upwards, at the glowing light above her. She heard Tsubasa and Shuri's voices and started swimming upwards.
I'm coming back guys… I'm coming home.
The shockwave from the Elekleid users breaking out of the Achtzehn Blitz washed over the entire area. When it reached the Section Two base, the artificial Ame-no-Habakiri glew, as the energy washed over Maia's body.
Maia sat up with a gasp, before wincing in pain. Looking at her body, she quickly pulled out all the IV-lines and took off her bandages. Standing out of bed, she found that she felt… good. Her bones were healed, the lacerations had all closed up, and it felt like she got all the blood back in her body.
"Whoa…" Maia flexed her arm before smiling.
The door opened, and Miku quickly ran in.
"Maia-san!" She hugged Maia. "Aiba told me you got up, but I had to make sure…! You're alive! You're really alive!"
"Whoa, Miku? What's going on?" Maia asked.
"It would take too long to explain everything." Miku said. "But Tesla erased everyone, except for people that used the Symphogear and Elekleid."
Maia grit her teeth, before looking at the table and grabbing Takemikazuchi. When she touched it, a brief vision of Kanade was in her eyes. Smiling, she turned to Miku.
"Then what am I staying here for then?" Maia grinned. "Time to go kick some ass."
Miku nodded. "Should I let them know?"
"Nah, don't tell them." Maia chuckled. "Let's give them a surprise."
Presently, Maia arrived on the battlefield outskirts. Rui had broken out of Tesla's machine, and was currently talking to the others as the Achtzehn Blitz started to recover. She looked at her artificial Ame-no-Habakiri, grinning.
"Alright… let's do this, Kanade."
Holding out Takemikazuchi in its sword form, she tried a different approach, as she spoke a familiar chant.
"Croitzal ronzell Gungnir zizzl~"
Harnessing the power of Gungnir that her weapon absorbed, she donned her Dual Relics mode once more. This time, while her right eye still had the black sclera, the iris had taken on the color of dark red; Kanade's eyes. Her left eye remained normal.
"So I still got this, huh?" Maia said. "Alright, let's go!"
Creating a massive spear, she threw it straight at the Achtzehn Blitz, skewering it straight through the shoulder.
SAGITTARIUS∞ARROW
The attack was so powerful that it completely tore off the machine's arm, sending it crashing into the ground. The spear flew back into Maia's hand, as the others all widened their eyes upon seeing her; alive.
"Hey everybody?" Maia Kazanari grinned, shouldering her spear. "Did you miss me?"
Tsubasa was the first one to hug her sister, tightly gripping her and causing Maia to drop her weapon.
"Neesama… Neesama…" Tsubasa sobbed into her sister's shoulders.
Maia smiled, gently hugging Tsubasa back. "Sorry I left you again."
"You're back. That's all that matters." Tsubasa smiled, tightly hugging her.
The others came in next, all grinning as well.
"About time you came back, you jerk!" Chris grinned.
"You gave us quite the scare." Maria admitted.
"Welcome back (dess)!" Kirika and Shirabe said.
"Yeah, welcome back, Maia-san!" Hibiki smiled.
Smiling, Maia reached out and gave Hibiki an affectionate pat on the head, confusing some of the others.
"Should mention this. Kanade says she's proud of you and Tsubasa." Maia said.
Both Hibiki and Tsubasa widened their eyes, the latter letting go of her sister.
"Kanade… as in Kanade Amou?" Maria asked. "So you really almost…?"
"Honestly I'm still on the fence as to whether I really did get to see her again or not. Though I'm pretty sure I did." Maia said, looking at the spear stuck in the ground. "Anyways, where's my best buddy?"
At Maia's words, Rui stepped up, swallowing the lump she had in her throat.
"Maia, I-" Rui started.
"Nah, it's cool." Maia said. "We're cool."
"But I almost-"
"You're my best friend again, and you're fighting with us again." Maia said, holding out her hand. "That's the best apology ever."
"I don't think the murder victim should be forgiving her murderer." Rui said.
"Details, schmetails." Maia shrugged. "Don't leave me hanging here."
Rui rolled her eyes, but smiled as she hi-fived her best friend. "Only you would forgive your own killer."
"Hey, I didn't completely die, so it's not as bad, right?" Maia chuckled.
"Well you're probably about to." Rui said, stepping back to reveal Shuri. The only one that hadn't said anything yet.
Her hair shadowing her eyes, Shuri started to march over to Maia. The blue-haired girl started to pale, guessing what was next. "Oh crap. Uh, hey Shuri. Sorry for worrying you. Please don't punch me-!"
Shocking everyone, Shuri grabbed Maia's shoulders, pulling herself up to kiss her. The elder Kazanari's eyes widened as her heart started beating into overdrive as she felt Shuri's lips upon her own. In that one moment, it was just the two of them. She was brought back to her senses after a few seconds, but it felt like at least an hour to her. As they broke the kiss, Shuri pushed Maia's hair back, touching her face.
"This is my answer… I love you too." Shuri smiled, tears in her eyes before hugging Maia. "Welcome back, Maia."
"Ah… gah dah blah… bwuh?" Maia babbled, a bit of drool running down her face. She could only barely register the others commenting.
"Neesama, you couldn't show even a bit of class for your first kiss?" Tsubasa sighed, putting a hand on her face.
"Honestly, I expected this to happen." Maria chuckled. "Those two did have that dynamic."
"Really, dess?" Kirika asked. "I thought it would be the other way around."
"I guess that's what all that time dealing with Maia-san does to a person." Shirabe guessed.
"I saw this coming a mile away." Miku spoke through the comms.
"Erm… congratulations you two!" Hibiki said, a bit confused.
"I am so glad this is the first time I see the two of them together again." Rui smirked, making a mental note to torment Maia with this.
Chris on the other hand, was deathly quiet. Once she saw Maia snapped out of it, she gave a deathly glare at the older Kazanari. While she didn't say anything, Maia could tell that Chris was essentially saying "treat her right or I will kill you."
"Uh…" Maia shook her head back and forth to snap out of it. "I really would like to continue this, but shouldn't we focus on taking down the jackass that's trying to play God?"
Almost as if on cue, the Achtzehn Blitz flew above them all. Aiming its shoulder, the severed arm reattached itself, as the core auto repaired back to its original state. Several Levengers had been summoned to his side.
"It still has power?" Shirabe realized.
"But Rui's not inside it anymore, dess!" Kirika said.
"I no longer need the Elekleid's power." Tesla declared. "The Achtzehn obtained enough power to rewrite reality ever so slightly, removing the machine's flaws."
"He's not wrong!" Miku reported. "Aiba says that it's gaining power again, this time at a faster rate!"

"Then we just need to stop it beforehand, don't we?" Rui asked, stepping forward.
"Yeah, let's kick his ass, Partner." Maia stepped up next to her friend.
Maia held up her wrist, as Rui hit it with the side of her fist, following it up with a hi-five, and Maia catching Rui's fist in her hand, finishing the handshake.
"We're all still here too!" Hibiki added, as she and the others stepped up.
"Everyone…" Shuri said. "Let's go!"
"Right!"
Their resolve renewed, they all charged at Tesla once more. The Levengers fired at them and they all dodged the blast. Splitting up, Shuri and Chris circled around the Achtzehn, firing shot after shot of bullets and missiles. While they did wipe out the Levenger assistance, their attacks did nothing but annoy Tesla, though this left him open for Tsubasa, Maria, Kirika and Shirabe to slice off the Achtzehn's limbs with their blades. This seemed to have little effect once more, as Tesla merely reattached them. But this distraction left him open, as Rui screamed and stabbed her swords into the back of the Achtzehn. Electricity surged through her weapons, disrupting some of the basic functions of the machine and leaving it open for all the others to keep attacking.
Maia held out her spear, concentrating, putting all the power she could into the attack. The spear started increasing in size, getting difficult to hold and control. Wincing from all the power, she nearly dropped the weapon, before a second set of hands supported her.
"We'll do this together, Maia-san!" Hibiki said.
"Yeah…" Maia grinned. "Let's give it to him!"
The two held the spear up over their heads, as the tip grew larger and sharper. Jumping into the air, the two roared as they dove with the weapon. All the others jumped out of the way as the massive spear was driven straight into the Achtzehn Blitz.
GRAVITY∞PAIN
An explosion from the attack went off, shattering the spear. Hibiki and Maia landed away from the newly formed crater, as the Achtzehn was heavily damaged from the attack, though repairing at a rapid rate as the Levenger remains grafted onto him.
"This is a fruitless effort!" Tesla shouted. "Cease this idiotic fighting!"
"We'll never stop fighting to protect everyone!" Hibiki declared, as they all regrouped together. "Everyone!"
SOUL quickly rushed in front of the girls to defend them, as the Symphogears all nodded and started to sing a certain tune.

"Then I will make sure you cannot fight back!" Tesla declared, raising the arm of the mech. "Begone, Symphogears!"
A wave of energy erupted from the Achtzehn Blitz, slamming straight into all the Symphogear-users. To their shock, their armor all shattered, putting them back in their normal clothes. It wasn't just them; Maia and Shuri were also forced back into their regular clothing. Rui was the only one still transformed.
"What the-?!" Rui said, stunned.
"What… What happened?!" Chris yelled.
"Ame-no-Habakiri…" Tsubasa held her pendant. "It's not answering me!"
"Our relics… they aren't responding…" Shirabe widened her eyes.
"Our weapons aren't working either…!" Shuri realized, as both Okami and the Proto-Ichaival weren't responding.
"What did he do, dess?!" Kirika panicked.
"The Achtzehn Blitz gained enough power to change the world even further." Tesla explained, voice filled with victory. "So I changed the world to make it so that the power of the Symphogear is useless. Anything that uses phonic gain, the power of the Ignite Module, any power of song… useless."
"I can't fight either!" Shuri had noticed her mind felt clearer, as if the black plague of the Ignite Module was out of her body. But an odd feeling in the back of her head let her know it was just made dormant by force.
"No… that means…!" Maria realized.
"That you have lost." Tesla finished, raising the arms of the Achtzehn Blitz, forming an orb of electricity. "Farewell, SONG. I will see you again in the new world; though you will have no recollection of this."
"Hibiki! Everyone!" Miku screamed in the comms.
The Achtzehn Blitz threw the ball of energy at them, as they all braced themselves for the end. But it was sliced in half, dispersing the energy before it could reach them.
"You just made your last fucking mistake, Tesla." Rui said, aiming her blades. "Because I'm still here!"
"Rui Tachibana…" Tesla frowned. "While I do not regret saving you, you are now the biggest obstacle in the path of my ambition. I will have to remove you from it."
"Just try." Rui snarled, before turning to the others. "Get away from here. I'll handle this."
"Wait." Hibiki took off her pendant. "Hold onto this."
"The Gungnir? But it's useless now…"
"I can't fight with you, but I'll stay by your side this way." Hibiki said.
Putting it around Rui's neck, the elder Tachibana twin looked at the relic, before smiling. "Alright. I'll carry on your song!"

Rui turned to face Tesla, as the others all got to a safe distance. Taking a deep breath, Rui readied her blades, before speeding forward as she began to sing. A song that resonated with her sister and the Kazanaris.
"Oneesan… she's singing!" Hibiki smiled.
"This song…" Tsubasa recognized. "She carries not only your song, but Kanade's as well."
"Kick his ass, Partner!" Maia cheered on.
Tesla shot out surges of electricity, as she zipped around them. Rushing in, she slashed at the huge machine, before quickly moving away to avoid getting crushed.
"Rui… why do you continue to fight?" Tesla asked her. "You have no chance of winning against me."
"Is that a fact now?!" Rui dodged another bolt of lightning.
"It is. The Achtzehn Blitz has far more power than your Elekleid Drei." Tesla said. "For example…"
The Achtzehn snapped its fingers, shooting intense bolts of lightning. Rui couldn't dodge them all, so she tried deflecting it with her sword.
"Gaah!" Rui screamed.
The bolt of lightning had shattered her blade, tearing through her left arm. The blast had ripped off her arm to the shoulder, leaving only the metallic stump.
"Do you see the difference in power now?" He asked.
"I see the difference in you being a bastard!" Rui shouted, taking off towards the sky. "You really think that Amelia would approve of a world like this?!"
"Don't you speak her name." Tesla said, narrowing his eyes. "The world I will make-!"
"Is one you built by trampling on other lives. You think she helped you out just for you to pull this shit?!" Rui shouted.
"Enough!" Tesla shouted. "You have done enough, Rui Tachibana!"
"I've done enough? Oh, I'm just getting started, asshole!" She declared.
She tried slashing down, but the Achtzehn blocked it with its fist. It knocked her back and fired several piercing bolts of energy, creating a rain of arrows. Rui rapidly slashed to try and deflect them all, but having only one arm made things difficult. A few of the energy arrows pierced through her body. She winced, as there were now holes leaking in her gut and legs. She tossed aside her blade, before forcefully pulling out a few wires to wrap around the holes, sealing them up. She summoned her blade again and took back off into battle.
Holding out a hand, the Achtzehn shot a blast of energy, but Rui dodged it yet again, putting more into her speed. She slashed at the machine, before disappearing. She appeared then slashed, and kept up this cycle.
Appear. Slash. Appear. Slash.
The huge machine kept attempting to blast her, but she was far too fast at this point. It was just not possible for it to hit her. Gritting his teeth, Tesla opened the faceplate of the machine and stood up. Just what Rui was counting on. Tesla widened his eyes as he saw Rui in front of him, slashing into his neck.
Rui realized too late that Tesla was the one that had tricked her.
Her sword shattered against Tesla's throat. In that moment of shock, Tesla held up his hand and caught Rui with the microbots once more.
"Did you honestly believe that I would be foolish enough to expose myself like that?" He asked, waving his hand and twisting Rui's mechanical body, reopening the wounds from earlier. "Attacking me has the same result as attacking the Achtzehn Blitz."
"You… bastard…" Rui muttered.
"I believe this is the end of this dance." Tesla said. "Farewell, Rui Tachibana."
Holding his hand out, he pushed Rui back. The microbots dropped her into the grip of the Achtzehn. She smashed at it with her fist, but the grip was too strong. The electricity built up within its palm, before it sent it out in a single burst of power. Rui closed her eyes as it tore through her body.
BWOOM
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Hibiki screamed as the others watched in horror. Rui crashed into the Earth, cratering the ground near them. Hibiki quickly ran up, horrified at her sister's state. The Elekleid armor had completely shattered, the bracelet crystal being cracked. Her entire lower half had been completely blasted away, leaving only her torn upper torso. The lights on her cybernetic body had all died out. Scorch marks were all over her metal parts, and her face was covered in a mix of oil and blood.
"Oneesan! ONEESAN!" Hibiki screamed, kneeling at her sister's side.
Rui's eyes barely seemed to have life in them. Her vision was blurry, and she wasn't able to fully tell where her sister was. "That you… Hibiki…?"
She reached with her remaining arm, hand shaking. Hibiki grasped it, as Rui touched her cheek.
"I'm sorry… I tried… I just failed again…" She apologized. "Guess… this really… makes me the worst sister…"
"No, no it doesn't!" Hibiki sobbed. "You're the greatest sister I could've ever asked for! Please… Please hold on…!"
"I don't… know how you do it… singing while fighting…" Rui breathed out as her arm slowly dropped. "It just… makes you really hungry…"
"No, no, no, no…" Hibiki hugged Rui. "Please… Please don't leave me again…!"
Rui didn't respond. The others saw her eyes were lifeless and dull, but found themselves unable to say anything. Tesla's machine slowly approached them, ready to wipe them all out permanently to make sure no one would ever be able to interfere with his plans.
"Please… give me a miracle…" Hibiki begged. "Anything… please…!"
Her tears fell, dropping onto Gungnir and the Elekleid. The broken relic and weapon began to glow.
"What…?!" Tesla widened his eyes as the dashboard was on alert. "Energy levels are dropping?! What's causing it?!"
The girls all looked around, seeing that the lights on the Achtzehn Blitz started to flicker. The light started to draw out of them, entering a single point.
Rui's Elekleid.
"What… What's happening?" Hibiki said, eyes wide.
"Tachibana… your prayer for a miracle seems to have been heard!" Tsubasa realized.
"A miracle…" Maria repeated. "It's not just a miracle; it's love!"
"What's… What's happening to my partner?" Maia asked.
The energy gently lifted Rui's broken form, as Hibiki took several steps back. The others widened their eyes, as the metal broke away from Rui's body. The flashes of light restored what was missing… but not as a machine.
"She's… That's…!" Shuri widened her eyes.
Landing back on the ground, Rui was garbed in an orange hoodie and black shorts. The same clothes she used to project on her body. Opening her eyes, they were no longer dull. Her orange eyes had that shine in them once more. Looking at her hands, she turned them over a few times, trying to clarify what she was seeing was real.
"Heh… ha ha…!" Rui laughed as tears came out.
Chris was the one that stepped forward, gently grasping Rui's hand. It's… It's the same hand I felt before…
"I'm… I'm me again…!" Rui realized.
Hibiki was the next to run forward, as Rui held up her hand and touched her face. She was actually able to feel the connection between them.
"Oneesan…!" Hibiki cried, hugging her sister again. The two siblings embraced one another as tears of joy fell from their eyes.
"How… How is this possible?" Shirabe wondered.
"A miracle, dess…" Kirika said.
Rui looked at the Elekleid bracelet, which was now repaired. The Gungnir relic was shining as well.
Starlit… even now you were looking out for us… Thank you.
"RUI TACHIBANA!"
They all turned to see the Achtzehn Blitz land. Its limbs were being barely held together, the joints connected with energy that was threatening to go out. The faceplate had to be forced open by Tesla himself, as he looked at her with rage.
I get it now… Rui looked at her bracelet, still drawing the power away from the Achtzehn. Like how that thing needed the Elekleid to filter the energy, now I'm just siphoning it all away. It's just like how I fought Maria the first time around.
"You have interfered far too much!" He roared. "With what remaining power that I have, I will end you personally!"

Rui turned to the others, briefly nodding at them before she stepped up.
"You know something Tesla?" Rui said. "I'm getting really tired of your crap."
Both the Gungnir and Elekleid glew, as she held her right arm out and above her left side, with her left arm resting above her stomach. The words in her mind came out.
"Elekleid, Symphonic Drive!"
She slowly brought the hand over to the right, while her lower arm drew back and made a fist. She let out a small breath, before a confidant smile appeared on her face.
"HENSHIN!"
She pressed down on her lower wrist, before loosely holding out her arms at the side. Yellow phonic gain combined with the purple lightning, as she was enveloped completely by the power. The light faded away, revealing Rui hovering over the ground. Her armor had taken on a completely different design. The right half of her body was mainly violet and black like the Elekleid, while the left was white and yellow like the Gungnir. Her arms, chest, shoulders and head pieces were all symmetrical. The back of her neck had a large white ring where her asymmetrical wings of violet and yellow were folded. The red relic crystal on her chest sat atop a purple crest, connected to a scarf that wrapped around Rui's neck, ending off with a soft violet glow.
"This form… what is this?!" Tesla said in shock. "Starlit… have you hid this from me the whole time?!"
"She didn't hide it from you." Rui said. "You were just too blind to see it."
Looking at her fist, she clenched it, before grinning. It just felt good to to be able to feel like this again. Tesla tried using this opportunity and fired an orb of electricity at her. To her shock, Rui merely backhanded the orb and it exploded behind her.
"What…? He widened his eyes. "How…?"
