I wake up before everyone else, or at least I thought so.
"Ah, so you're awake!" A voice says behind me, scaring the shit out of me.
"AGH!" I exclaim as I turn around to see Gravimon.
"Sorry friend, but I just got to have a word with you!" He says and I follow him upstairs. He sits on a large throne that looks oddly comfy. "So, to start things off, I know you are leaving today. But, there is one thing I would like to ask of you."
"What is it?" I ask him.
"I was wondering if you could burden yourself with Lalamon." He says, frowning slightly.
"Why?" I ask him.
"She is a very adventurous digimon, and keeping her locked up here has really taken a toll on her happiness, which pains me as a dad. I know letting her go would hurt me but I also know that it would make her thrive and make me proud. So Derin, I have seen your character and would love for her to be on your digimon team. Would you do that for me?" He asks, sincerity lacing every word.
I nod my head. "Of course!" I say and out comes Lalamon from one of the many bookshelves.
"Oh my god!" She yells, zooming right at me and knocking me back a bit, my balancing skills flying out the window. "Thank you so much!" She squeals and goes to hug Gravimon as well. She flies back downstairs and me and Gravimon both nod at each other. I climb down the ladder and Whispered and Coronamon are up now because of Lalamon telling them everything. Whispered looks really tired and Coronamon's just smiling away. We all walk outside together and I look back to see Anubimon and Gravimon standing behind.
"Aren't you coming, Anubimon?" I ask and he looks to the ground and then back up.
"Derin, I've known you for about two weeks, and it has been great. Right now though, I would like to stay with my general and help him. He can't go through this alone. But I know how much power you hold and you are going to do great things." He says and nods.
"Thank you, Anubimon. But I'm going to miss you" I say, sadness creeping into my voice. Anubimon expands his arms and me and the others all hug him. After the hug he kneels down.
"Now listen Derin, I want you to head to the right of this tree. It will lead you to the beach area, and you bound to find another general there. I just bet on it!" He says enthusiastically. I smile back at him and nod.
"Got it!" I say and walk a bit away. "Thank you Gravimon and Anubimon!" We all yell.
"May our paths cross again!" Gravimon says waving us goodbye as we make our way to the right of the tree, after a few moments the tree's presence. Another lush jungle trip, here we come!
(MEANWHILE)
The lair is drenched in shadows. The silence breaks with the sound of heavy deep footsteps. The dark knight himself comes into view. Scurrying in front of him is a vampire digimon with combed short blonde hair. His blue outfit has a bat on his chest and he has a black cape on. His purple lips twist into a smile.
"Myotismon." Axeknightmon starts, "It's good to be back. That meddling human freed me but now he and his wretched digimon are on one obstacle of a path." He complains, his dark voice booming from the cave walls.
"What is he doing, my lord?" Myotismon asks.
"They are on their merry little path to warn all the ex dark generals about my newly rediscovered presence. Oh how irritating humans are." The Knight groans slamming the base of the ax on the ground, causing a slight rumble.
"Why would you need the dark generals again my lord?" Myotismon asks.
"I need them back on my side for power. My wit only may be strong but I will need puppets to do my dirty work for me." Axeknightmon says with a sinister chuckle.
"They'll never work for you again though after what you've done." Myotismon says. Axeknightmon turns to Myotismon.
"Oh I know, but who said they have to give their consent?" Axeknightmon laughs. "Now Myotismon, be a good soldier and summon Devimon to go deal with those twerps."
"Yes my Lord!" Myotismon obeys, summoning Devimon. Another vampire digimon with grayish skin covered in skin tight black bodysuit. Wraps cover some parts of its body. Its arms reach the ground and its black horns are equally intimidating. "Devimon, go destroy the humans who have caused our oh so great master pain!" Myotismon bellows and Devimon kneels down and shoots up into the air.
(Back to us)
We continue walking through the lush forest until we finally come across a huge opening.
"If I had a penny for everytime I fell, I'd be rich" I complained and the three digimon snicker behind me.
"We should be reaching the beaches soon enough." Lalamon said as she flew ahead of us a tad.
"Ye-"
"You humans won't be going anywhere!" A voice yells in the air. A digimon hurls down to the ground and then stands up straight. "Fear me, for I am Devimon!" He shouts. He takes a few steps closer to us. Whispered jumps in front.
"Get out of our way!" He yells. "We have a mission and I would really appreciate it if you moved your devil ass!" He spat out angrily. The light surrounded him.
I held out my fusion loader.
"Whispered! Digivolve!"
"Coronamon Whispered digivolve too…Firamon Whispered!" Whispered flies out and tackles Devimon in the chest. Devimon drives his knee into Whispered's stomach and pushes him away.
"Black Talon!" Devimon booms out his hand striking Whispered in the head, knocking him back into some trees. Whispered gets back on all four of his feet moments later, shaking slightly. He charges at Devimon before taking to the sky.
"Flame Dive!" He screams as he bursts right back at Devimon. The collision blinds us for a second before looking back to see Whispered all tired out, his head badly damaged from a counter attack by Devimon. Devimon stands a bit bruised too, but manages to stay on his feet.
"Is that all you got?" He mocks. Lalamon gets upset and rams right into Devimon but is slapped away.
"You leave us alone!" I yell. Lalamon charges again but is pushed back. "Lalamon, cut it out! You'll get even more hurt!"
"My dad told me to be strong and that's what I'm doing!" Lalamon says back and starts to glow just like Whispered's would. "He told me to make him proud!" My fusion loader glows.
"Alright." I smile and nod, holding up my fusion loader. "Lalamon! Digivolve!"
"Lalamon digivolve to…Sunflowmon!" She said as she lands on the ground, slightly floating. Sunflowmon has a green body with long arms and big hands. It has a green tail covered in thorns. It's head resembles a sunflower. (It's in the name for god sakes.)
"Whispered, return!" I yell and Whispered's body glows before retreating back into the Fusion loader.
"Oh? A new challenger? What's a flower going to do?" Devimon laughs hysterically but Sunflowmon takes it to her advantage and rams right into Devimon again, slamming him back into the trees.
"This flower is gonna kick your ass!" Sunflowmon yells as her petal glow a golden light. "Sunflow Beam!" She says as she knocks Devimon right back over again before he even has a chance to get up. Devimon falls back again, hitting his head on the ground causing dizziness. Sunflowmon flies forward a bit and Devimon slowly tries to rise to his feet.
"You…little…" Devimon mutters before Sunflowmon's tail moves.
"Cactus Tail!" She says as the thorns come out and cut through Devimon's skin, his data coating his black skinsuit. Sunflowmon pummels Devimon to the ground before the pain finally gives way and he disappears. Sunflowmon looks back at me for a moment before smiling and turning back into Lalamon.
"Wow Lalamon…" I say, my mouth agape. "That was…"
"Brutal? I hope it was!" Lalamon cheers as she flies in a circle around me. "Now, let's get to those beaches! I heard there is a town around there!" She says as she flies forward again, leaving me to follow.
"Alright." I say, smiling at Coronamon as we all laugh together.
