A/N Breaking point
Alt title: Fuck Qrow
.
.
To clear a few things.
There's a reason the last chapter is titled
Magic and Misunderstandings: Naughty Ruby
It's not just an allusion to Ruby's actions at the very end.
.
1, Ruby did not tell Qrow anything about Cyril that she did not think Cyril would be okay with him knowing. She only told Qrow things Cyril said freely. Anything Cyril was even slightly hesitant to mention, Ruby didn't say.
It's why Qrow knew nothing of where he actually lived.
2, Qrow's actions, were not seen as normal. The only person defending them, was Ruby. And that's only because Qrow is family.
3, Cyril, is upset with Ruby. He's just been bottling things up.
4, Cyril, is traumatized of Qrow. His natural response to him, is to flee. Because he has no confidence he could take him.
.
Resurrection99: Thank you!
Eseer: Funnily enough, there's already a character named Cyril in Ruby. His name is Cyril Ian, and he's a news reporter.
Samejake: I'm keeping it mysterious!
Kaykaykaykayan: The comments on QQ are calling him a doormat.
A sad leaf: I'M SORRY! DON'T SAD! DANCE! DANCE YOUR LITTLE LEAF HEART OUT!
I WAS ONLY TRYING TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO MAKE AN ACCOUNT TO KEEP ANOTHER FROM STEALING BEAUTIFUL NAME!
Genkiwan: Blake is in the room.
Code-Stygian: Cyril simply doesn't believe he could take Qrow in a fight.
GideonBlackthorn: Cyril has basically reached a tipping point.

Cyril Leon POV
.
'Holy shit this is actually happening!' I think in disbelief as Ruby kisses my jaw, giving out little squeaks anytime she moves and grinds herself against my, well, y'know.
I, should probably stop this. But, the question is, do I want to?
No. But, I need to set boundaries.
"Ruby." I say softly.
"Cyril." She whispers back, her ear flicking my nose.
"Ruby, stop." I grit out.
"Huh?" She asks as she slows down.
"I said stop." I say again, getting her to stop moving.
"Hmm?" She intones lightly as she shifts above me. Her weight no longer right on me. Likely her hands are beside my shoulders as she pushes herself up. "What's the matter?"
A lot of things.
"Ruby, I feel like there's a bit of a misunderstanding here." I say as I sit up, doing my damnedest to ignore the feeling of how her cheeks are now hotdogging my cock. "First of all, I don't think you've realized that I'm upset with you."
"W-w-why?" She asks, now sounding desperate. "I, I thought we were, we, what'd I do?"
"Ruby." I glare at her, knowing she can see me. "For one, your uncle kidnapped me and beat the crap out of me and you're defending him. Two, you keep disregarding my privacy. Three, you keep just, acting and doing things without consideration for how I feel." I say, remembering her uncle, the barging in on me in the bathroom, the ordering me around, and even now.
We are not close enough for her to just whisk me away whenever she wants.
"Why, didn't you say anything?" She asks softly, shaking slightly in my lap, doing nothing good for my boner issue.
"I have." I say slowly before adding. "Ruby I've been letting you get away with a lot because I like you a lot. But the more I let you get away with, the more you keep pushing. This is me putting my foot down."
"O-okay." She says softly. "Um, I'm s-sorry. I uh, I'll try, try to be better. I, I didn't know."
' Fuuuuuccck!' I think to myself as I hear the slight tremble in her voice.
"Ruby." I say softly as I lean forward and rest our foreheads together. "I love you, and what we have together and with Weiss. I want to try and make it work . But right now, I'm kinda pissed at how I've been disregarded and treated like a commodity rather than a person. Just now, you know I hate it when you use your semblance on me. Especially without my permission."
Having finally gotten that all off of my chest. I take a breath and hug Ruby, who slowly returns the hug.
"I-I'm sorry." She whispers, sounding ready to cry. "I, I was just so happy at, at how you, and, with everything. I didn't think about."
"It's fine. Well, no, it's not. And I'll be talking to Weiss in the morning as well." I say as I rub her back. "Also, if I see your Uncle again, I'm kicking him in the nuts."
"That's fine." She says, her voice cracking a bit. "He's used to it."
We stay here a bit longer before I decide we're done. Patting her on the back, I speak up.
"Okay, I think you should go back to your bed." I say softly.
"Um, this is my bed." She says back.
Of course it is.
I move Ruby over and out of my lap. My, not so little issue now not being an issue. I get up and head to where I know my bed to be. Taking slow steps to not trip or stub my toe.
The moment I get to my bed. I hear the door to our room click shut.
"Ruby?" I ask.
…
Where'd she go?

Taiyang Xiao Long POV
.
Tying my robe around my waist, I rub some of the sleep out of my eyes as I head for the door of my private dorm. Yang has the house while Summer's out on business.
Opening the door, I'm surprised to see Ruby in her PJ's. Ears splayed back, eyes red and sniffling.
"Oh, gemstone." I coo as I crouch down to give her a hug. "What happened?"
"C-C-Cyril's m-mad at me." She sniffles as she returns the hug.
'Shit!' I think to myself.
"Do I need to call the nurse?" I ask seriously. More than a little worried over what might've happened.
"No." She says. "It's my fault."
Okay. Not another Gray situation. Good.
"Come on in gemstone." I say as I stand back up. "I can put some hot coco on, get some strawberries. And we can talk. You like that?"
Ruby nods, and I step to the side. Letting her in as I head to the kitchenette.
.
.
"And, he's right." Ruby hiccups as I run a hand through her hair. "I, never asked him about anything. I just kept assuming things. Does that make me a bad partner?"
Whoo boy. That was a dump. Basically, what I'm getting is that Ruby didn't talk to Cyril before doing things, and Cyril didn't speak up when she did something he was against. Ruby kept going and going, taking his silence for approval. And Cyril kept bottling it up.
Overall a failure of communication. Happens to the best of us at times. Especially when we're young and dumb.
And all that's not even mentioning Qrow. Who I'll be having, many words with later.
"It makes you an inexperienced one." I say softly as I look down at my little girl. "Every relationship has its issues, from partners, to siblings, to spouses. It just sounds like you've been taking a lot of things for granted without questioning them. Cyril's had a lot to adjust to, just keep that in mind. But don't feel pressured to accommodate more than you're comfortable with, alright?"
"How do I make it up to him?" Ruby asks between sips of her hot chocolate. "Is there, something I should do? Or, anything I can say?"
"If problems could be solved so easily." I chuckle. "No, as it stands just, respect his boundaries and his privacy. Apologize for what you think needs apologizing for is a good way to start. Other than that, let him cool off tomorrow. Alright?"
"Okay." Ruby says. "I'll, I'll try."
"That's my girl." I say as I pat her shoulder. "Now come on, get up."
"What?" She asks.
"I gotta get to bed and you gotta get back to your dorm." I tell her.
"Hrmm, fine." Ruby grumbles as she gets up. "Can I at least finish my coco?"
"Take it with you." I tell her.
I give a sad smile as I watch her go. My baby girl is growing up. Already in Beacon. And now having boy troubles. She's so much more like her mother than she realizes. Hopefully this relationship spat ends better than ours did. That one ended with Summer in a wall, and Qrow picking up a bottle for the first time.
'Pfft. First time.' I think with a roll of my eyes. 'Like he ever put it down.'
…
"Fuck I feel old."

Cyril Leon POV
.
I got, very little sleep last night. Spent most of it thinking.
"Okay!" I say as the three girls sit next to each other on Weiss's bed. "I think it's time I get some things off of my chest!"
Weiss looks worried, and Ruby looks ashamed. Blake, has a resting bitch-cat face I can't read.
"First!" I point to Ruby who flinches at my attention. "Next time I'm woken up to a pillow to the face, I'm smacking you back with it. It was cute the first time, annoying every other time."
Moving over to Weiss, who glares at me with a false bravado.
"Next time you slip into my bed with me, without my consent, we're done." I say, earning a wide eyed look of fear from her. "Got it? I let it slide because Ruby and Blake were addressing the issue, but now it's clear that I need to be more vocal. We, are not close enough for that. Got it?"
Weiss gives a small nod.
"And both of you need to respect my privacy." I say, earning a blush from them. "If I'm in the bathroom, you knock. Actually! Dorm room rule! If that door is closed, knock. That is simple courtesy! And you!" I point to Blake.
Blake crosses her arms and glares at me. Challenging me to say something. Of which I have nothing to say.
"You're the only one actually respecting my boundaries." I say now that I think about it. "Huh."
"You don't have to sound surprised." Blake says.
Ignoring her, I go back to Weiss and Ruby.
"I really like you two." I say, earning a small smile from Ruby and a tail twitch from Weiss. "But, we have words. If you want something, say something. Don't just do it. Okay?"
"Yes sir." Weiss says with a nod, before going wide eyed as we all look at her with varying degrees of question. Causing her to blush and cower a bit.
"Anyway." I deflect to move on. "This is not me breaking up with you, this is me saying I'm reqching my limit. Got it? I'm heading into Vale city, you two enjoy your date, Blake, do whatever you do. Call me if you need me. I'm out."
I then turn on my heels, and head for the door. Already dressed in my combat gear, I slip my sunglasses on as I leave.
Probably gonna hit up that sushi place. Or check out that anime store and see the plushies. Cool off for a bit before I have to talk with Jacques later today.
.
.
Ruby Rose POV
.
That wasn't so bad! I think.
"Ruby I blame your uncle." Weiss says.
"Yeah, I do too." I admit.
"Well, you two have fun." Blake says as she gets up and heads to the bathroom. "Just, clean up before I get back."
"Where are you going?" I ask my teammate.
"Get some sushi with Sun." Blake says before closing the bathroom door.

Taiyang Xiao Long POV
.
Watching as the bird flies in through the window and reforms into Qrow in front of me. I give my old teammate a warm smile.
"Tai!" The drunk exclaims as he throws his arms out. "How ya been ya blonde bastard?"
"Qrow." I say with a good natured chuckle as I return the hug. "It's been too long."
"That it has." Qrow says as we pat each others back.
We separate and smile at each other. Before I throw him against the wall and pin him there.
"Whoa!" Qrow smirks with a heavy pant. "Didn't know you missed me that much. We-"
I then bring my knee to his nuts.
" Aaaaah!" He squeals as I step back.
He holds his crotch in pain as I cross my arms. Staring down at the man on the floor.
"What'd I do?" He wheezes.
"Cyril." I say simply.
"What about him?" Qrow wheezes as he gets to his hands and knees.
"You kidnapped him and beat the crap out of him. And tried to scare him away from Ruby by talking about her exes." I point out.
Not that I really consider Gray and Hyde to be exes. Sharing candy when you're eight and hugging when you're twelve do not make you romantic partners.
No matter how much Ruby disagrees.
"And?" Qrow says as he gets up.
"Qrow, the kid is livid." I explain. "And it's falling on Ruby because she feels the need to defend you."
"Well she didn't seem too upset last I spoke to her." Qrow counters.
"Qrow you could've killed the kid and the most Ruby would do is give you the silent treatment for a month." I glare at the man.
"How is that my fault?" He asks stubbornly.
"Make it up to him." I explain slowly.
"Tai, c'mon man." Qrow says in an exasperated tone. "I think you're blowing this a bit out of the water here."
"Qrow, Ruby came to my door in tears last night." I say, earning a look of surprise from the man. "Sad over the fact that Cyril is upset with her."
"Shit." Is all Qrow can say. "Kid in the hospital?"
"No." I tell him. "He's fine. Just upset."
"Then what am-"
"Qrow, I love you man, but you need fix this on your end." I tell the man. "Before history repeats itself, and Ruby's partner turns out like you."

Ruby Rose POV
.
'Just focus on the cute girl next to you.' I tell myself.
"So these little, bits of goo are supposed to be there?" Weiss asks with a raised brow.
'Don't focus on how mad Cyril is at you and how you messed up!' I tell myself. 'It's bad to think of others on your date.'
"For the third time, yes." I tell her with a giggle. "It's the boba. That's why the straw is so thick. Here, watch."
I poke my straw into the store bought cup and suck up some of the boba and chew on the sweet orbs.
"Shee?" I say between bites.
"Ruby don't smack." Weiss chastises immediately. "It's disgusting."
So fussy! She needs to learn how to let loose every now and then.
"Just try it already." I encourage her.
Looking to me and then to the cup uncertainly. She takes her straw and stabs the plastic cover. Only managing to make a small poke in the cover before sliding it across the surface of the plastic. Making a little bit of a mess.
"Aah!" She exclaims in surprise.
"Not like that silly." I say with a small laugh at her expense. "Here, let me show you."
I take the straw from her and bring it up. Before stabbing it back down like a dagger!
"See?" I say and slide it to her.
Still looking uncertain, I bring a hand up and caress her head. Getting that sweet spot all Faunus with ears have. One that Cyril seems to just know is there.
Relaxing a bit, Weiss goes down on the straw. Sucking up some boba before her eyes shoot open in surprise. She brings her head back up and doubles over the side of the desk, hacking and coughing.
"You're not supposed to swallow!" I say as I pat her back desperately. "You're supposed to chew!"
"Funny." I hear a familiar voice come from the window. "Usually I'm telling girls the opposite."
Turning to the window, I see the black haired man casually laying on the windowsill.
"Uncle Qrow!" I say excitedly, before remembering I'm mad at him.
Though, I don't have to say anything as Weiss makes a glyph under him that launches him out of the room.
"Weiss!" I exclaim in shock.
"Ruby that man is not welcome in this room!" She hisses at me. "You know this."
"Well, yeah but." I say, trying to come up with something. "You could've told him to leave instead of, well that."
"He's lucky I didn't grab any dust first." Weiss says defiantly.
"Is now a bad time?" Uncle Qrow asks. Now on the window again.
Only for Weiss to open the third drawer in the desk and grab a dust vial.
"Hey hey hey!" Uncle Qrow says as he puts his hands up. "Just need to ask a few questions! Then I'm gone."
"You can go now." Weiss glares, her ears now fully splayed back as her tail wraps around me protectively. " Last time you were here you kidnapped my teammate, as well as I and your nieces paramour!"
'Don't bring up how you were here the other day!' I mentally plead.
"Yeah, that's why I'm here." Qrow says as he goes from crouching to laying back down on the windowsill. "Someone may have pointed out that I was a bit of a dick. And that I need to apologize."
'Oh thank Oz!' I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. 'Wait, Uncle Qrow, apologizing? Who died? It wasn't Yang was it!? We told her to stop the street racing!'
"The very fact you needed another to shed light on the matter and point out the error of your actions, speaks volumes of your character." Weiss says.
"Shit, you're a wordy one aren't ya?" Uncle Qrow says.
"Excuse you!?" Weiss says, now popping the lid off of the vial.
"Uncle Qrow!" I whine as I put my face in my hands. Dying of second hand embarrassment.
"Hey hey! S hiiiit!" Qrow exclaims as Weiss uses gravity dust to launch him.
Weiss then gets up, heads to the window and shuts it. Locking the hatch and closing the curtains. Before making her way back over to me, and sitting back down next to me.
"I apologize for any offence I may have caused you to feel." Weiss gives a apology.
"It's fine." I sigh with my head on the desk. "He had that one coming."
Weiss and I stare at each other a bit longer. Before I smile softly at her, letting her know I don't blame her. A smile she soon returns for a split second, before she cuts it off with a blush. Looking away as she reaches a hand out and rubs my head affectionately.
"What else did you want me to try?" She asks as she brings her hand back and composes herself.
I smile at her and open my mouth to answer, before my scroll goes off.
"Hang on." I say as I fish it out of my pocket and check the I.D. Answering it with a sigh. "Yes, Uncle Qrow?"
"Can you just tell me where the kid is?" He asks, earning a frown from Weiss as she shakes her head slowly.
"He'll be back here sometime later." I say, not telling him where he is now.
"Can you give me a timeframe?" He asks.
"Not, really?" I say honestly as I look to Weiss who looks to be getting more and more irritated. "Look, I gotta go okay? I love you."
"Yeah, sure thin-" I hang up and set my scroll down, earning a nod from Weiss.
"So, have you ever tried dippin dotz?"

Cyril Leon POV
.
'Was I too harsh?' I ask myself as I walk down the sidewalk.
I feel like shit. I'm, not normally a combative, or even an argumentative person. But, Ruby can't just enable her uncle like that. Yes, he's family and, and I understand not wanting to go against family. But, you can at least say something other than, you're fine.
After someone kidnaps and beats the crap out of you! From my perspective, she's letting what he did slide, simply because he's always been that way!
Blake's calmed down the racism, Weiss's calmed down the perversion, mostly, Ruby needs to learn to communicate. And I need to stop sitting on my ass and letting things build up.
I suppose I'm just like Ruby in that regard. I let the people I like get away with too much, because I don't want to start shit with them.
…
I stop walking as I have an epiphany. And need to keep myself from screaming out loud at myself.
None of any of this would be an issue, if I had just spoken up in my own defense sooner!
"Calm down Cyril." I sigh as I rub my temples.
"Are you alright sir?" I hear a girl say next to me.
Opening my eyes and looking to the, oh you've gotta be fucking with me.
It's, fucking, Penny.
"I'm fine." I sigh as I keep walking.
"One does not normally speak to themselves if they are mentally sound." The ginger says innocently as she follows me. "And I do not detect any remote communication device active on your person."
She's got a different outfit. Blue in place of green and black in place of grey. But the same orange hair, green eyes and voice.
"I'm just stressed. That's all." I say as I continue to walk.
"Then perhaps an impartial observer is needed to help you unburden yourself!" She offers jovially. "Studies show that it is easier to discuss ones issues and figure them out when talking to an uninvolved third party."
Sighing, I turn to the girl and get ready to gently explain that I just need space. Before I'm cut off by sirens sounding off down the street.
'Oh please let that be something I can get involved with.' I beg whoever is listening.
Because fuck me do I need a stress reliever after today.
"Hold that thought." I say as I hold up a finger and run after the sound. Taking my sunglasses off, the people move out of the way for me.
Fuck that's convenient.
As I run, I see a black van skirt and drift onto the main road. Two cop cars following it as the car tears down the street.
Waiting for the right moment, I turn my right axe into a pick. And distend the chain. Tossing it out as the van passes. My axe hooking into it as I let myself get swept away.
I didn't think this through. And I'm okay with that. I just need something to beat the shit out of.
The van makes a hard left turn. Swinging me around the back end and slamming me into the back doors where I slam my left axe into the metal. Securing my spot as I drag the axe down and across. Slicing clean through the latching mechanism and breaking the lock on the back doors.
It's then that something jostles the van, dislodging my right axe, allowing me to activate the rotor and return it to my hand as I pull the back doors open.
"Alright!" I say as I step into the back of the van, now having guns pointed at me by the three bandana wearing individuals in the back. "If you don't have aura-"
Is all I get out before they start shooting me. They're small caliber rounds, so they don't have a lot of kick to them. But they sure as hell sting.
Not feeling up to playing this game. I point my right axe at the nearest mook, and shoot his foot. Causing blood to spray up as he screams in pain. I then aim the gun at the next guy, causing him to drop his gun, which discharges and shoots the other guy in the leg.
"The hell is going on back there!?" The driver shouts, only to be pulled out of the driver seat, by, seemingly nothing as the driver side door disappears with him.
And, Penny swings under and through. Taking the wheel and slowing the van down.
"Do not worry!" She says cheerfully. "I am certified to pilot most vehicles class A through F!"
This was, admittedly anticlimactic. Was hoping one of them would be a named character. Like Roman or Mercury.

Ruby Rose POV

"So, she gets her powers." Weiss says next to me as we lay on the bed watching Huntress Jasmine on the monitor I moved to the wall desk. " How?"
"She makes a pact with the spirit of the world, and becomes one of the twelve maidens of the world. Gaining powers and a juvenile spirit of her own." I explain. "Well, crap that's spoilers. For now just know there's only three."
"Then where are the extra nine from if there's only supposed to be three." Weiss asks as her tail wraps around my waist.
"I can't tell you." I stress. "Just forget I said there are twelve, and pretend I said three."
"Where are all these Grimm spirits coming from!?" Jasmine asks her spirit.
"Well I can't just forget." Weiss pipes up. "I already know there are twelve. Can you at least give me names."
Feeling my eye twitch. I lean over and kiss Weiss's cheek.
"R-R-Ruby!" She exclaims. "You don't just-"
"Let me finish the episode and I'll give you another." I offer as I bump my hip to hers playfully. "Deal?"
She doesn't say anything. Instead staring deadeye at the screen as the episode plays out.
'I wonder if Cyril's calmed down by now?' I find myself wondering as I watch the episode.
Soon as the episode ends though.
"So are they color coded?" Weiss asks.

"You understand we'll have to take you down for questioning, right sir?" The officer says politely. "I don't want to, but it's part of policy."
Turns out being a Hunter in training doesn't give you free reign in the law. Only when the law requests you for your assistance.
At least the police are understanding.
"How long will this take?" I ask.
"Well, first we'll have to contact your school." He says. "May I see your I.D.?"
Fuck me.

Tapping my fingers as I scroll through my, scroll. I look up as the door opens.
"Hey kid." Qrow says as he walks in.
"Oh fucking hell." I curse, not willing to put up with him right now.
"Yeah that's about what I expected." He says as he sits down across from me. "Anyway, we need to talk."
"The fuck we do!" I say as I get up and walk around the table. Heading for the door.
"Door's locked kid." Qrow says as I pass him.
Pulling on my magic, I feel my arms harden as they gain that silver circuitry patterning. shoving my hand through the door, I crush the lock.
"Hey!" Qrow says as he gets up from his chair. "Kid I'm not here to fuck with you alright!?"
"Don't care, suck a dick." I say as alarms start blaring.
Walking out of the room, I think fast as I hear the footsteps approaching. Knowing what little I know, I decide to tempt fate. After all, how unfortunate would it be for Qrow, if he got held up by a misunderstanding?
"Sorry about that officers!" I say with a kind smile as I see a few of the men in uniform round the corner. "My mentor here was just picking me up and the locks jammed. He'll pay for it though."
Does that make sense or work? Fuck if I care at this point. If it fucks over Qrow, then good.
Qrow runs out of the room in time for the officers to reach me, and I just step aside.
"Don't worry teach!" I say with a smile. "I'll go ahead and start the car while you sort this out!"
"Kid, Cyril!" Qrow calls out as I walk past the officers. Ignoring the racket behind me in favor of finding the lockup and getting my weapons.
Walking through the halls as the alarms turn off. I calmly walk past several other officers and workers in the precinct. Acting as though nothing is wrong.
"Excuse me, miss." I tap a lady on the shoulder as she passes me.
"Hmm?" She hums as she turns around, gaining a look of recognition as she locks eyes with me. "Oh! Hello sir. How may I help you?"
I'm abusing the fuck out of my silver eyes. And frankly, I don't care. I did at first because it felt like taking advantage of people. Now, I'm too tired, and too stressed to care much.
"I was just wondering if you could point me towards the evidence lockup." I ask calmly.
"Why do you need to go there, if you don't mind me asking?" She asks.
"I just need to get my weapons." I say as I pull my badge out and show my Beacon I.D. "I took part in stopping a high speed chase, and I just got released after some questioning. The officer told me to just head to the lockup to get my weapons back."
"Oh. I see then, just go down this hall to the lobby and keep your eyes up." She instructs me. "There will be signs guiding you."
"Thank you."
.
.
-Beacon, 3pm-
.
.
Turns out I didn't even need to do anything else. I walked up, showed my I.D. and they just took my fucking word on it. Mostly because I was already free to go. They just thought I was waiting for someone.
I don't how, but I sense it's Qrow's fault.
Penny was no where to be found. But that's probably because Atlas soldiers already picked her up. Or she took off to avoid them. Whatever floats her boat I guess.
Walking through the halls of Beacon. I make it back to my dorm room. Taking a deep breath before I pull out my key and unlock the door. Opening it to find Blake on her bed reading a book. Weiss and Ruby on Weiss's bed watching a video.
"Cyril!" Ruby says as she petals over in front of me. "Cyril I just want to say I'm so so so so sooo sorry about not respecting your privacy and not taking you into consideration and me and Weiss were talking it out I just wanted to make sure you know I didn't mean to treat you with any disrespect or." She stops to take a breath. "I just got really really happy that everything seemed okay with you and I thought the stuff with my uncle would and that you didn't really mind and were just upset in the moment and-"
And reset.
"Hmm!" She squeaks as I rub her head, her eyes clenched shut as I calm her down.
Feeling that I've calmed her down sufficiently enough. I remove my hand from her head. She looks up to me with hopeful eyes, ears perked as she smiles.
"Does this mean you're not mad anymore!?" She asks excitedly.
"Oh I'm still pretty mad." I smile down at her as her ears splay back. "But, I'm better now that I've had some fresh air."
"O-oh." She says sadly.
"Hey." I say as I put a hand under her chin to lift her head up and look her in the eye. "Just, remember what I said and we're good, alright?"
"Alright." Ruby nods, sounding for all intents and purposes like a kicked puppy.
"Would a kiss make you feel better?" I ask, not liking it when she's sad.
I'm not forgiving her. Just giving her the benefit of the doubt. She went out of her way to try and cheer me up when we first met, despite how much of a dick I was. So, second chances and all that. If I can look past Blake's bullshit, I can look past Ruby and Weiss's so long as they make an effort to be better.
"Maybe." Ruby mumbles, giving me puppy dog eyes.
Giving her a smile. I lean down and give her a small kiss on the cheek. Coming back up, and enjoying the soft smile she gives me in return.
Looking over at the blushing Weiss , who looks away the moment she notices me staring. Giving me a mischievous idea.
"I assume you and Ruby had a good date?" I ask knowingly, earning a squeak from the wolf Faunus in front of me.
"I'm not sure what you're implying, but if you're asking as to whether we had an enjoyable time or not then yes." She says professionally. "We had a most enjoyable day together. And if your business is settled, then we need to get ready and head to the Vale CCT to contact my father."
"Before you do so." I say as she gets up and heads to the bathroom. "Might wanna wear a scarf."
"And why would that be?" She asks with a glare.
"To cover the mark on your neck." I say, earning a massive blush from the white girl.
"Ruby you degenerate!" Weiss shouts as she rushes to the bathroom. "You said you wouldn't- Cyril there's nothing there!"
I start laughing at how she fell for that.
"Why would you even think there was if nothing happened?" I ask through my laughing.
"You three are going to drive me to drink." Blake groans.

-Vale CCT, 4pm-
.
.
Showered and fully dressed in my Beacon uniform. I sit at the booth in front of the bulky computer as the call goes through.
"So how should I act?" I ask Weiss.
"What do you mean?" She asks me as the call continues to dial.
"I mean do you want me to be appeasing because it's your dad, or do you want me to be me?" I ask her. "Because if you want the former, I will."
I won't like it. But if it saves me the trouble of having daddy morebucks, and Weiss be mad at me. Then I will.
I've no doubt that no matter what I'm about to piss off papa Schnee. Might as well mitigate what little I can.
"Just, I won't ask you to be someone you're not." Weiss says measuredly. "But please try to set a good example. I know you're not in a good mood after everything with Ruby, and I know how you get when you're in a sour mood. But, if anything happens, I, I promise I'll make it up to you." She finishes with a small blush.
That's, a rather enticing offer. One I don't have time to contemplate as the screen turns on. Revealing the white haired, mustached man of Atlas. The richest man on Remnant, and father of my teammate and girlfriend.
"Weiss, my little snowflake." He says with a smile. "It's so good to see you after all this time."
"Father, it's only been two months." Weiss says measuredly.
' That's not concerning at all.' I think sarcastically. 'He answers all cheery, and she responds with the most calculated, robotic tone since HAL 9000.'
"But it feels like a season." He says before switching his gaze to me. "And you must be Mr. Leon. I must say, Weiss's description of you, failed to do you justice."
"Is that so?" I say, not sure how to take that as I look to Weiss, who gives no response. "Well I hope I exceeded your expectations."
"So far you have." Jacques says, and I recognize what this is.
He's trying to flatter me. Get on good terms with me. But why?
"But that's neither here nor there." Jacques says. "What is, is the nature of your relationship with my daughter and heir."
"What about it?" I challenge as Weiss wraps her tail around my waist.
"I'm just curious as to your intentions Mr. Leon." He says gently. "As I'm sure you can understand, as her father, Weiss's future and happiness are of great concern to me."
Where is he going with this? This guy is fucking impossible to read!
"Can't blame you for that." I agree easily. "Though I can assure you that from what I've seen, Weiss can take care of herself."
I feel Weiss's tail push harder against my waist at that. Letting me know that was not the right thing to say. Or maybe she's trying to reassure me. I don't know.
"Be that as it may, from everything Weiss has said to me. I feel as though my mind would be better put to ease if certain, insurances were made." Jacques says, making no indication as to whether he took issue with what I said or not.
"And just what did you have in mind?" I ask cautiously.
"Nothing drastic." Jacques says. "Just a formal agreement to-"
"I'm not signing anything." I say automatically, cutting him off and causing Weiss to hiss through her nose next to me.
"You haven't even heard my proposal." He says, his tone lowering. "A simple agreement-"
"Filled to the brim with hidden clauses and conditions that I'd be legally forced to adhere to." I cut him off again. "I'm not foolish enough to get into a legal agreement with someone who has years of experience over me, and many reasons to screw me over."
"I would suggest you stop interrupting me." Jacques says.
"And I will, as soon as you move on from this topic." I counter, making it clear I'm not about to enter into any deals for the 'privilege' of his permission to date Weiss.
Me and Jacques stare each other down through the screen. Me glaring, him with a stone faced, calculating expression while Weiss remains motionless.
"Weiss dear." He says, switching attention to the girl next to me. "Do you truly wish to court someone so, unruly and disagreeable."
'Oh you are not playing that game in front of me!' I think defiantly.
"I'll have you know I can be a very agreeable person Mr. Schnee." I say, mimicking his tone and regaining his attention. "From my position, I'm merely refusing to enter into a field where I'm at a disadvantage. To think I'd put myself at any undo risk simply to bolster or bluff my way through something is foolish at best."
"If you wish to insult Mr. Leon, you need only do so plainly." Jacques answers me back.
"If I wanted to insult you, I would." I say as I stare him dead in the eye. "As it is now? I'm merely reinforcing my stance. I won't enter into any agreement with you."
"Not even for Weiss?" He asks in a lighter, offering tone.
"No." I answer, surprising them both.
"No?" Jacques asks with a raised brow, clearly not expecting that answer.
"No." I repeat myself.
"Do you not wish to date my daughter?" Jacques asks pointedly.
"With all due respect, we've been dating for less than a month." I tell him, thinking about how best to put this without insulting Weiss. "I like her, she's quirky and weird in a way I like. But, simply put, I don't know her. And I don't know you."
Weiss's tail once again tightens around my waist.
Jacques stares me down appraisingly for a bit longer. Before his gaze softens a bit.
"Hmm, you surprise me Mr. Leon." He says calmly. "You're aware I'm a very, powerful man, yes?"
"Ask Winchester what that means to me." I counter, earning a raised brow. "I already told off one, powerful man who didn't know when to stop pushing. The only reason I'm not doing so a second time is because this powerful man's daughter asked me to play nice."
"Cyril!" Weiss hisses under her breath. "Knock it off, please!"
"Weiss, I'd like for you to step out." Jacques says calmly. "Just, for but a moment."
"F-Father, surely whatever you have to say to-" Weiss starts.
"Weiss." Jacques says, his image on the screen giving her the side eye.
Weiss stiffens next to me. Before nodding and standing up. Stepping away and out of sight as she leaves the room. The moment she does, Jacques continues.
"I came into this expecting a hotheaded, hormonal teen ready to declare his undying love for my daughter." Jacques says measuredly. "But it would seem you are not as easily manipulated."
He's wrong. You just have to find what I like and bribe me with it. And right now, the only thing I'd like is to go back to the dorm, eat a sandwich and go to bed without any more surprises.
Something he can't offer me.
"Nothing to say?" He asks.
"Nothing to say." I answer in return. "I'll be honest, there is nothing you can do that'll phase me. And you have nothing I want."
I've had my life flipped sideways so many ways and times. I've somehow ended up on the corner of a cylinder.
"Not even Weiss's hand in marriage?" He offers.
"No." I answer simply.
"And here I believed you to be sweet on each other." He says. "The security footage from the Davat penthouse elevator certainly suggests so."
"We are, but your offer of marriage doesn't interest me." I say, earning a look of-
…
Huh.
For a second he looked, remorseful?
"Is that your final answer?" He asks.
"Yes." I say without any hesitation, fed up with being pushed.
"Very well, you may go and send Weiss in." He says.
Glad to be done here. I get up and head to the door leading to the lobby.
"And Cyril, one more thing." Jacques says, stopping me in my tracks. "You may call me Jacques from now on."

Lyman "Oz/Ozma" Ozpin POV
.
'The bullhead pilots need their annual license renewal.' I think as I type on my computer. 'James is on his way, perhaps a few games while we discuss security measures?'
I'll give him full range of course. But we need to make it look like a compromise was made. People can't see me just hand over power like that. No matter how much I trust the man.
'I still need to arrange the paperwork for him.' I note.
I'm brought from my thoughts as my scroll goes off. Not the one on my desk, the one in my pocket.
Pulling it out, I see it's Qrow. Wondering what he could be calling for. I answer it.
"Qrow, unusual to have you call me." I say.
"Oz, I'm stuck at the police station in east Vale." Qrow says. "The damn kid framed me and the cameras glitched out as soon as I stepped in the place so I can't prove anything!"
"Alright, I'll need you to walk me through what happened, step by step."

A/N
Cyril and Ruby's issue can be chalked up to the fact they're both immature, and Ruby was mistaking Cyril not saying no, as an implied yes. To many things.
.
Cyril won Jacques over, by being unbribeable. Cyril is a Silver Eyed Warrior, which means no one can object to him dating his daughter. But, he has no clan to pressure. And if Cyril wouldn't take a bribe or be intimidated by him of all people, then it's safe to say he wouldn't be bribed or intimidated by anyone.
That, and Silver Eyes plus the Schnee family semblance? What better legacy could he hope for?
That's Jacques's thought process.
There will off course be more. This isn't like with Tai were he was like "Just don't get her pregnant before she's ready to settle down." This is more. "You surprised me, and I appreciate that. We're good, for now."
.
The door to the interrogation room wasn't locked. Qrow lied hoping he'd stay.
.
Ruby may have been a tad upset with Qrow, but she still defended him. She felt she had to because that's her family. And Qrow, is an all around bad influence let's be honest.
But anyway, Ruby defending Qrow, and then acting like everything was fine. Was Cyril's last straw.
