Silence is the loudest fucking thing Charlie had ever heard.

Her muscles felt frozen. Her eyes were glued to Alastor's empty ones. The eyes that used to hold so much life for someone that was very much dead. A permanent smile that held no joy or emotion at all anymore. That smile would forever haunt her.

"Charlie I am so sorry."

The room was spinning frantically, making Charlie's stomach toss. She was in danger of losing the contents of her stomach but kept it down. Alastor would be upset if she got vomit on his clothes.

He would be very upset. Yes.

She continued to look at his face, waiting for a muscle to twitch or an eye to blink. Something. Her hand shook as she began to caress his face again. His skin felt like marble, cold and smooth. Lucifer's words completely going through her.

"He. He's gone." Charlie finally croaked out after some more silence. Lucifer rubbed her back comfortingly. She could barely register it, the touch feeling foreign. Time had stopped. Hell had never been so quiet. Was it always this fucking quiet?

"There has to be something I can do." She whispered to herself. She heard her father let out a hopeless sigh.

"Sweetie I don't think that there is." Lucifer felt his throat get tight as he looked over her shoulder at Alastor. He had never liked him but he couldn't help but develop a soft spot for him because of his feelings towards Charlie.

I never got to tell him-

"I refuse!" Charlie hollered, startling Lucifer out of his thoughts. She lowered Alastor's head to the floor gently where he now laid flat. She scooted to his side and placed a hand on the handle of the dagger that was still buried in his chest. She pulled the dagger out in one pull, black blood droplets flying and hitting her face. She tossed the weapon to the side, the sound of metal hitting linoleum echoing in the large room. She placed a hand over the wound that was oozing was looked like black tar. Val actually stabbed him through his original angelic wound.

That bastard.

"I won't lose him. I can't." Charlie whispered, again more to herself rather than Lucifer. All of her memories of Alastor running through her head like a movie on fast forward. All the times that he had annoyed her or even pissed her off. Then all of the times that he made her laugh and smile. Times where he was there for her when she had no one to turn to. Finally, her mind settled on a specific memory.

" You're not as strong as you could be because you're always too afraid. Fear is your hinderance, not your kindness. Which is hilarious considering you're the Princess of Hell."

"I am the Princess of Hell." Charlie said with more bass in her voice. Lucifer cocked an eyebrow.

"And I say that Alastor will not die. Not today."

With that, she firmly placed both hands on top of Alastor's chest, that was now soaked with blood. It oozed between her fingers as she applied more pressure but tried to ignore it. She closed her eyes and focused everything she had on conjuring enough power to fix this. To fix him.

"Are you sure you're ok?"

"I would cross my heart, but since I don't have one you'll just have to take my word for it, my dear."

She felt power surge from her fingers and into Alastor. She felt her chest get tight but ignored it. Everything could be ignored right now.

"Was I being too loud?"

"On the contrary, if it were up to me I would have you playing even louder, my dear."

She gritted her teeth as her muscles convulsed. Her blood felt like it was boiling but she persisted. Nothing mattered right now except for this. For him.

"You truly are remarkable, Charlie Morningstar."

Her head throbbed in tune with her racing heartbeat as she poured more and more energy and power into this empty vessel before her. She would put life back into it though. She wouldn't stop until she did.

"I'd rather die a thousand more deaths than to watch myself do what I did to you."

She couldn't imagine a life without him. Without his sly comments or empty threats. The way he demanded attention from everyone in a room simply by existing. There was no life without him.

"Charlie if any harm ever comes to you, it will be because I'll already be dead."

Never have I ever found a love like you. You made the impossible, possible. With every breath you breathed. A world without you doesn't make sense.

"We'll have more moments together. I promise."

"I sure hope so because I haven't had nearly enough moments with you for me to die satisfied."

You're in every corner of my mind. When I'm awake I find that every thought starts and ends with you. When I sleep every dream starts and ends with you.

"There's no one else's hands I'd rather put my life into than yours, my dear."

I promise I will be with you for the rest of my life. I will take care of you for all eternity whether you claim to want it or not. You are etched in my heart forever and if it bleeds than even better. I would happily bleed for you.

"Simply divine."

If I actually lost you, I would lose everything. Everything that makes my soul bright and my heart beat. Somewhere along the way you wormed your way inside me and that's on you because now I'm never letting you go.

"You promise you're not upset with me though?"

"Cross my non-existent heart."

You think you can just leave after telling me some of the most beautiful words you've ever said to me? Are you that delusional?

"I am so very in love with you. You are everything."

The way that I fell in love with you was so simple that I didn't even need to try. Alastor you have to wake up because I'm not done showing you all of the ways that I love you. And damnit you're not done either.

Charlie felt blood stream from her nose as her body became more and more weak. She repeated everything like a mantra in her head, focusing her entire soul into healing him. Her eyes closed as she began to see colors dance in the darkness. Her head swam and made her feel lighter than air, yet it also felt like an elephant was on her chest. She refused to stop though. She would sooner die trying than to give up. She heard Lucifer call for her but his voice was so far away so she easily ignored him. Nothing was going to stop her.

"Charlie stop!" Lucifer screamed. Blood was coming out of every part of her face. Her nose, her ears, even her eyes and mouth. Her body shook and was gradually getting worse. Power flowed from her palms and into Alastor. He could almost see them coursing through him. He wasn't sure if it was working or not but regardless, Charlie was losing steam and losing it fast.

"Charlie you have to stop, you're going to hurt yourself." Lucifer remembered when he channeled all of his power into saving Charlie when she was young and even that drained him completely and he didn't come close to what Charlie was doing now. He was torn between stopping her or letting her continue. If he stopped her and Alastor stayed gone, she would never forgive him. She would be hollow forever and he wasn't sure he could live with that. He also couldn't bare to watch Charlie drain herself trying to save him.

Come on give me something, Alastor. Anything.

Lucifer glued his eyes to Alastor's entire body, watching for any kind of movement. Even the slightest muscle spasm. His eyes raked his entirety over and over when Charlie began to cough, blood dribbling from her lips. Lucifer felt his heart nearly burst from his chest with anxiety. They were out of time.

That was until he saw the tiniest twitch of Alastor's pinky finger.

As if Charlie sensed it, she blacked out and collapsed to the ground. Lucifer caught her in time to lay her down softly. He looked back at Alastor with hope in his eyes and determination in his blood.

"What kind of father would I be if I didn't finish what his daughter started?"
