The Next Day

Erickson Family Home / Atlanta, Georgia

10:30am

In a small room in a beautiful two-floor red house in the Algrerson neighborhood of Atlanta, Maddie was going over her deck that won her the Georiga State Championship. She was looking at the deck and in the corner was the duel disk she's used ever year since she started to duel and her trophy was displayed in her living room on the first floor.

She smiled and replied, "My water army was so awesome! I won one of the best and biggest tournaments here in the state and I feel like I'm at at the top of the world right now!"

She looked at her spread out deck and she then replied, "People were shocked to see I was using a Fire deck of all things. It took me over 3 months to find the cards to make the best deck I ever made. I Can't wait to use my improved deck in a duel!"

She looked a small box which held a lot of various water monsters that would help her deck a lot and they looked amazing and she smiled and replied, "These are going to make my deck even better and with the cards and traps I use for this deck, they'll more powerful then ever!"

She added the cards to the main deck and gathered them up and made her deck ready to go and then he she looked at her trophy and she sighed sadly and replied, "This deck is for you, mom. I wish you could of seen you duel, mom. I really miss you right now."

Maddie's mom Jennifer was a great and wonderful parent. A few months after she graduated from high school, she came down with the flu and horrible chills. Maddie's dad Calvin brought her to the best hospital in Atlanta. She was hospitalized for 2 days and the doctor said she would be fine and good as new in a few days to a week. But after a couple of days, it sadly got worse. They found out she had a blood clot that traveled all the way to her heart and sadly a day after that, she passed away due to a massive heart attack and she was only 55. They had her funeral here in Atlanta and she was cremated. Her ashes were put in a large golden urn that was locked up in the basement of their home in a large glass cabinet that she had bought for the family to store small items that made good memories for the family about a year before she passed away.

She heard a knocking at her door and she went and opened up and her father Lucas was right there and he smiled and replied, "Hey, baby girl."
"Hey dad. what's up?"

"Nothing much. How've you been since you got back home?"

She sighed and replied, "Really good actually. It felt good to win the championship and make the whole state proud of me. I really think I have the best Fiend deck in the world right now."

"Your mother would of been so proud of you, sweetie. What do you have planned for today?"

"Nothing much, actually. Denine is meeting me at the park and we're going to get some lunch afterwards. I'm bringing my disk and deck just in case we want to duel or someone wants to challenge me to a duel."

"Sounds like a fun day. See you later."

He closed the door and then she replied, "Time to get ready to go."

At the park, the two friends were sitting on a picnic bench. Denine was a tall muscular female and she wore blue jeans and a white shirt and she had glasses covering her blue eyes and had blonde hair as well. They both have been friends since both were 8 years old and that was 13 years ago. They both brought water bottles with them and as well as two bags of Cheetos.

Denine looked at her friend and replied, "Your duel was a amazing, girl. I watched it from the arena and I was so happy to see you win such a tight, close duel. Well done."

She took a couple of cards from her jeans pocket and handed both to her and she smiled and replied, "I know you'll like these cards, girl."

Ashlee grabbed the cards was a couple of Harpie cards and two Spell and Traps that she never heard of before and she gasped and replied, "No...damn...way. Where did you get these cards?"

She smiled and replied, " I've had both for a while and I wanted to give you them sooner, but you where doing so good in this tournament so I didn't want the new cards to distract you at all. I'm proud of the way you dueled and always will be proud of you, girl."

They both smiled as she slid the cards into her pocket and then both hugged each other and then Maddie then replied, "You are the most amazing friend I've ever had, Denine. You are simply...amazing."

"I try to be, girl.", Denine said with a smile. "I try to be."

That night at the top of the skyscraper, The CEO was talking with his two sons about the tournament."

Brighton then replied, "All invites were sent out and each should reach the duelists home by tomorrow afternoon, dad."

The CEO nodded and replied, "Good work, guys. You ready to duel in this tournament, Brighton?"

"Darn right I am, dad! I Can't wait to show off the deck I made."

"Good to hear."

He looked at his taller son and replied, "Evan, did you call up Duel Corp?"

He nodded and replied, "Yes, dad. They know about everything and they helped write the letters as well."

"Good to hear."

He yawned and then replied, "Let's head home, gang. Tell Max that his night crew can came in and watch the office for us."

The boys nodded as they all left the office.

That following day, Maddie was going over deck now. With the addition of the newest cards she got, she redid her deck a little bit. She was in the living room of her house. Denine decided to come over and Lucas was busy at grilling something for lunch from outside of the house.

Denine then replied, "How's your deck now, girl?"

"Thanks you, my deck is really amazing, girl. I love it..and you."

Denine looked at her in a puzzled sort of way and she smiled and replied, "We've been friends for years now. I could never find the right one to be with..until I met you. I've

wanted to do this for years now and was kinda nervous and scared to say anything. Now I realize, I want to be with you forever."

Denine smiled back and replied, "I've been waiting for years for you to ask me about that, girl. I've been nervous trying to think of something to ask you."

"So, will you please be my girlfriend?"

"Of course I will, girl. I love you as much as you love me and I want you more then anyone else in my life right now."

They both hugged each other and Judi Lyn kissed her on the cheek and they didn't know this, but Calvin was watching and heard everything they both said. he was bringing in a plate of grilled cheeseburgers and Ashlee smiled and replied, "Ladies."

They quickly saw each other and move away and James smiled again and replied, "Don't worry about it, baby girl. You two are amazing together and no matter what, I"ll support and help you both out when I have to."

They both smiled at him and then they heard a knocking at the door and James sat down the burgers on the kitchen table and he quickly walked to the door and opened it and it was a mail lady and James then replied, "Hey, Cathy."

The mail lady then replied, "I have a important envolope for your daughter, Calvin."

She handed him a large brown envolope and she smiled and replied, "See you later."

She walked away and he closed the door and he walked to where his daughter was and replied, "You have some mail, hon."

She grabbed the envolope and after quickly opening it up, she found a large white letter and she broke the red seal on it and and began to read it:

At Denine's house, the ladies told her parents about them dating now and they couldn't be happier for the both of them. She always wanted the right one to date and they figured Judi Lyn would be perfect for her.

Her mom(Who was named Chelsea) only smiled and replied, "I'm proud of you for doing this on your own, Denine. You've been a great influence on her and if this is what will make you happy, we'll support you as long as we can. You're a great person and your girlfriend there is one of the nicest people you've ever met. I'm happy for you right now."

Denine walked to her mom and they both hugged each other and then her dad Adrian walked in and replied, "Denine, you going to be okay with her being in this tournament?"

She sighed and she smiled and replied, "I'd support her on whatever she wanted to do, dad."

They smiled as they hugged each other.

In Nashville, Bailey was taling to her parents about this tournament and his younger sister Cindy was there as well.

Her mom (Jean) smiled and replied, "Your ready for this, honey? You'll do a great job in this tournament and you'll win it all!"

She smiled and then replied, "I'm going into the tournament and show people how great my Xyz Summoner deck is!"

Cindy smiled and replied, "You'll take down your opponents easily, sis!"

She smiled and nodded and her mom was looking down at a white box and she resumed, "What's that box, mom?"
"Some cards that I've had for a long time now and they are unique to us. They won't get released to the public for another two months. Duel Corp wanted me to keep them and I think your deck will be perfect for the cards, honey."

She walked over to the box and opened it up and they were many effect and normal monsters with Extra Deck cards as well and she smiled and resumed, "Damn, these are some nice cards! I'll use them in my deck and show people what the best deck looks like!"

Her mom only smiled as she continued to look through the cards.

At this same time, Kara was chatting about the tournament as well and she wanted to be a part of it as well and chatting with her folks as well. People didn't know it, but Anthony was Kara's byfriend of 2 years and they both won spots in the tournament (He wanted to be a part of it, but couldn't at the last minute due to family issues they were figuring out) and people didn't even know that they were dating as well. Her parents learned about the tournament and they wanted to get her some stuff for her to bring to the tournament. He had a small white box next to him as well.

Anthony smiled and resumed, "Sounds like this will be the perfect tournament for you, baby girl. With your Fiend deck the way it is, you'll get the win quickly."

She nodded to him and then let out a sigh and he resumed, "You okay there?"

"I'll be okay. I want to do this tournament, but I'll be away from you for most of it, hon."

He put his arm around her and she resumed, "Don't worry about that all, sweetie. Your a great duelist and you'll be perfect for this tournament. I'll be okay and I'll wait for your return back home."

She only smiled and he pushed the box over and he nodded and resumed, "I've had these cards for a while for winning a certain duel contest before we started dating and watching the way your deck is, your deck is perfect for them as well."

He opened the envelope and they were a lot of card and she read through them and she resumed, "Wow, these are based on those classic monsters from that amazing classic of a cartoon from the early days. Thank you so much, babe."

"Anything for you, love. Your deck will be powerful enough to handle anything you face in that tournament."

She smiled and then stood and kissed her boyfriend deeply.

The girls decided to enter the tournament. All invites accepted their invitations to enter the the tournament. After the girls got ready to go, Duel Corp paid for busses to transfer the duelists to their nearest port cities that would help them all get the tournament. After they boarded a large cruise ship, it left the port. Maddie was on the main deck and looking out towards the ocean.

Maddie then replied, "Mom and Denine, this is all for the both of you. I really do miss you right now, mom. Denine, I promise I'll win this tournament and make you prouder of me."

As she continued to relax, Bailey walked onto the same deck and then she smiled and replied, "Your Maddie Erickson, the Harpie master of Georgia. Nice to meet you in person."

She looked back at her and replied, "Your Bailey, the Dragon Master duelist. Your deck was so good in that duel."

"Thanks for that, girl. I look forward to dueling you in the tournament."

They shook hands and they didn't knew it, but Kara was watching them and she smiled and replied, "I can't wait to defeat the Georgia and Alabama State champions. This will be a fun tournament."

She smiled and quietly walked away.

Bailey: I can't wait for this to happen! Next time, The rules are explained to all of us and as I look for a duelist to duel, this sexist jerk bothers me for a duel and that champion from Alabama cames to duel to shut him up. Who will win this one? Find out in "Day 1: Let the Games Begin!" and it'll be here soon.
