Feeling bummed, Lincoln was laying on his bed on his right side, facing the wall next to his bed. He really, really, really wanted to fight crime with his big sister. Lisa even invented a weapon for him to have. Letting out a melancholy sigh from himself, Lincoln wondered what it would be like to fight alongside Lori and catch some bad guys, save lives, prevent any crime from spewing out like a geyser. But, Lori simply refused it to happen for his own safety, and he had to be content with this decision of hers. Deep down, he was thinking about Lori's words of how dangerous it would be to fight alongside her in battle.
Maybe this could be like a bunch of soldiers going out to die in a battlefield for a so-called "Righteous cause". He looked out of his small little window after turned himself on his right side. Letting out another sigh, Lincoln decided to just read comic books in his underpants, like he would normally do in his free time.
Ten minutes have passed and Lincoln was done reading, then he heard a knock on the door. He was silent and heard a familiar voice on the other side of his room. "Lincoln? Are you in there?" It was Lori.
"I'm in here." Lincoln let out yet another sad sigh.
"Can I come in, please?"
"Sure. Sure. Come on in." He heard the door slowly creek open and there was Lori, looking a little guilty. She sat on the bed next to her brother. "I just came to check to see if you're literally ok."
"I'm fine, Lori." Lincoln said flatly. "Just done reading my comics
"That explains why you're only wearing your underwear." Lori noted. "But anyway, I know you're bummed about not fighting some crime with me, Lincoln, but I'm only thinking about you. And you literally weren't there when I was fighting Snow Flaker." She pulled out her phone to find a video of her struggle against the icy villain from a witness. "Fair warning, this gets a little intense for many people."
watching the video of the face-off, Lincoln was a little surprised at how much of a dangerous adversary was to his big sister
"You know wouldn't want to come face-to-face with this creep, Lincoln. Believe me. And it's not a walk in the park."
"I didn't say it was, Lori. I know taking down bad guys is no walk in the park, but I just wanted to prove myself that I could at least help you somehow."
having her thinking face on her, Lori was silent, and looked away from her only brother. "Look, i wasn't trying to brush you off or be mean to you or anything." Lori continued explaining. "I just want you safe. That's all."
"Snow Flaker did look very dangerous and intimidating." Lincoln admitted. "Someone to not mess with."
"Right. And sooner or later, there would be more dangerous villains or criminals to fight against. Like I mentioned before, if anything bad happened to you, I would literally never forgive myself for it."
"And mom and dad would kill you, right?" Lincoln smirked.
Lori let out a small chuckle. "Right."
"Well, Lori?"
"Hmm?"
"Remember our crazy adventure in Scotland when I was trying to stop Morag from ruining our good family name, and how we got our own pet dragon named Lela?"
"I literally remember it like it was yesterday." Lori smirked. "I will never forget. And Lela is probably doing well for herself right now."
"Well the point is, I have been through the craziest thing during o use vacation in Scotland. Besides, Lisa did make me my weapon before."
"I know. I already talked to her about it. And I told her that she shouldn't have done that without talking to me about it first."
"Yeah but she was only trying to help. Besides, what are the odds of more superheroes appearing? The only possible way that can happen is that if we can get someone to receive powers from Lisa and her experiments."
"Fair enough, you're probably right, Lincoln. There might never be another superhero that can radioactively transform with cool super powers. But come on, i still think it's too dangerous for you to fight alongside me against any bad guys or criminals."
"I understand." Lincoln sighed before laying on his bed, turning his back on her.
Lori looked guilty again and said: "can i get you anything? Like some water or orange juice?"
"No, i'm fine. I don't need anything." then he thought this question over. "Though i would like some mac n cheese bites."
Smiling, Lori said: "Sure things, little bro." then patted him on his naked back before getting off his bed to fetch him the kind of snack he wanted to eat. She got int he kitchen and was greeted by her parents, who noticed her guilty face.
"Everything alright, honey?" asked Rita
"I think Lincoln hates me." Lori said, clenching her elbows with her hands. She explained to her parents about what just happened recently, and the parents frowned, looking at one another in concern. "He's a superhero fan, but he might get hurt."
"Oh Lori." said Rita. "We understand what you mean. But he's a comic book fan, and that actually makes him a little more..."
"Experienced, even if he hasn't physically got involved in superhero work before." Lynn Sr added.
"But what if he gets hurt?"
"This is a crazy family." Rita reminded. "So no plan is perfect."
Lori was silent and processed it in her brain. "So you guys are saying that Lincoln should fight crime alongside me?"
"Well, only ones that he can fight." said Lynn Sr. "And you need to protect him from any kind of danger that can try coming for him."
"Of course. he is my little brother."
"And if it gets too dangerous or if it's a battle he can't win, then tell him to get to safety." said Rita.
