Combees and Honey Trees

At the Floraroma Town Pokemon Center, while Stella and Dawn's Pokemon were being treated after their battles at the Floraroma Town Pokemon Contest, they were eating at the cafeteria; Dawn was also looking at her Floraroma Ribbon in her ribbon case, smiling.

"One down, four to go." said Dawn.

"That's so awesome." said Sam.

"Looks like we're tied for now." said Stella.

"For now." Dawn replies with a smirk.

"So, when should we head for Eterna City?" asked Clyde.

"We'll start heading there tomorrow morning." said Lincoln. "Let's just chill out for the rest of the day."

"Okay, bro." said Luna.

"Let's look around and see what else there is to see in the town." said Stella.

The group exits the Pokemon Center and head to the north side of Floaroma Town where they see a lot of flowers around.

"It's amazing how beautiful this place is." said Stella.

"Look at that." said Clyde as he points towards a very large swarm of Combees flying around in an area past a line of trees.

"Why are they all flying around there?" asked Dawn.

"Maybe there's some really big flowers there?" suggested Sam.

"If there are, then it probably smells really nice." said Clyde.

"Let's check it out." said Lincoln. The group heads towards where the Combees were flying around; they go through the tree line and see a bunch of very large beekeeper hives all over the place.

"What are those?" asked Dawn.

"They look like beehives." said Clyde. Everyone sees Combees flying in and out of them.

"What are they doing?" asked Lincoln.

"Hello." said a male voice, making everyone look to see a man with honey blonde hair and beard, wearing a white beekeeper suit, walking over to them.

"Who are you, man?" asked Sam.

"My name's Kirby." replied the man, now identified as Kirby.

"Are all these Combees yours?" asked Stella.

"Yes, they are." replied Kirby.

"Why do you have so many?" asked Stella.

"For their honey." replied Kirby.

"Is the honey good?" asked Clyde.

"Actually, people use honey to attract certain Pokemon." said Kirby. He walks to a nearby tree with a jar of honey. "You see, if you slather honey on a sweet-smelling tree, you can attract Pokemon." He pours some honey onto the side of the tree and spreads it with his hand.

"How long does it usually take?" asked Lincoln.

"About a day." replied Kirby.

"Are there more trees like this one around here?" asked Dawn.

"There's some near the Valley Windworks." replied Kirby. "If you're interested, I have jars of honey for sale."

"How much?" asked Stella.

"One hundred pokedollars each." replied Kirby.

"We'll buy some." said Lincoln, pulling pokedollars out of his pocket. He gives Kirby one thousand pokedollars and receives ten jars. He gives Sam, Clyde, and Stella two jars each, gives Luna and Dawn one, and keeps the last two for himself.

"Thank you." everyone says to Kirby in unison.

"You're very welcome; have a good day." said Kirby. After that, the group heads for the Valley Windworks.

When they get there, they examine all the trees until they found some that smelled sweet.

"Let's get started." said Lincoln. They all start slathering honey all over the trees until they get all of them. After they were done, they hear some rustling from nearby.

"What's that?" asked Clyde. They all see a Pachirisu come out.

"I'll catch it for Lola." said Lincoln.

"Yeah, you did kind of promise her, dude." said Luna. Lincoln takes out his Espeon's pokeball and lets him out of it. The Pachirisu sees this and gives Espeon a cute look which makes him bashful and lowers his attack power.

"Espeon, use Confusion!" said Lincoln. Espeon's eyes glow blue, making a similar-colored aura appear around Pachirisu, it is then sent flying into a tree where it slumps to the ground. Lincoln then takes out an empty pokeball and tosses it at the Pokemon, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.

"You did it, Lincoln!" said Clyde. Pachirisu's pokeball suddenly vanishes.

"Where did Pachirisu go?" asked Stella.

"You see, Stella; trainers can only have six Pokemon on them; other Pokemon trainers catch gets transported to storage." replied Lincoln.

"Oh." said Stella. Lincoln looks up his new Pachirisu's information on his pokedex.

"This says my Pachirisu's a girl, she knows Growl, Baby-Doll Eyes, Quick Attack, and Charm; and she has the Pickup ability like Dawn's." said Lincoln.

"When are you going to send it to Lola?" asked Clyde.

"As soon as we're far enough from any town; we don't want to be too close to civilized area due to the portals causing time distortions." said Lincoln.

"Good call, dude." said Luna.

"And I'm gonna train her until she learns Spark also." said Lincoln.

"Why?" asked Dawn.

"I have my reasons." said Lincoln as a sly grin forms on his face. The group heads back to Floaroma Town and go to the Pokemon Center where Lincoln uses the PC to swap his Staravia for his Pachirisu; he spends the rest of the day training her until she learns the move he wanted her to; as he does, he keeps the items that the Pokemon picks up as well, such as a Super Potion, and a crystal clear stone with a shining core in it.

"Hey, that's a Shiny Stone!" said Clyde.

"Oh yeah!" said Lincoln. "This can be used to evolve Roselia to Roserade."

"Can I have that?" asked Stella.

"Of course." said Lincoln as he hands the Shiny Stone over to Stella.

"Thanks!" said Stella. "And here's something in return." She then kisses Lincoln right on the lips, making Luna and Sam giggle while Dawn frowns.

Stella then touches her Roselia with the Shiny Stone, and she begins to evolve. When she was done, she had a white rosebud on her head, a green mask over her eyes, on the ends of her arms were rose bouquets; one being red and one being blue.

"She's so beautiful!" said Stella. Lincoln points his pokedex at the newly evolved Roselia.

"Roserade, the Bouquet Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Budew. With the movements of a dancer, it strikes with whips that are densely lined with poison thorns." said Lincoln's pokedex.

"And look at all the moves she knows now." said Lincoln as he shows Stella the list of moves that Roserade learned after evolving.

"She is really going to come in handy in future contests." said Stella.

After that, the group heads back to the Pokemon Center for dinner. Once they've eaten, Lincoln calls up his family.

"Hi, everyone." said Lynn Sr.

"Hi, everybody." said Lincoln.

"We saw the Floaroma Contest." said Leni.

"Sorry you lost, Stella." said Mrs. Zhau.

"It's not the end of the world; there's always the next contest." said Stella.

"Wish Lynn had an attitude like that when she loses at something." said Luan, making Lynn Jr look away with a huff.

"And check this out; my Roselia evolved." said Stella as she lets out her Roserade for everyone back at the Loud house to see. "She's a Roserade now."

"She's beautiful!" said Lola.

"And the flowers on her head and ends of her arms smell like a very nice perfume." said Stella.

"And Lola, I caught a Pachirisu for you." said Lincoln.

"Thanks, Linky!" said Lola.

"As soon as I find a good place to open a portal, I'll send her over." said Lincoln.

"Yes, we should be careful when doing that due to the time distortions." said Lisa.

"And I taught her Spark." said Lincoln. "Perhaps you can have Pachirisu use it on a certain red-haired backstabber? I'm guessing a tackle that also electrocutes would be very painful."

"With pleasure." Lola replies with a sinister smile. After a few minutes of talking, the end the call. The group then just chills out in their rooms until it was time for bed; they then showered and went to sleep.

The next morning, after the group have eaten breakfast, the group exited the Pokemon Center.

"Let's go see if the honey attracted any Pokemon." said Lincoln.

"Okay, Lincoln." said Stella. They walked to the area where the Valley Windworks was. Stella walks to a tree she slathered honey on the previous day; she sees a purple, caterpillar-like Pokemon with spikes on its rear, sucking on the honey. Lincoln takes out his pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.

"Wurmple, the Worm Pokemon. It spits a white silk thread that turns sticky when coming into contact with air. The silk is used to immobilize foes." said Lincoln's pokedex.

"I remember reading about Wurmples at Pokemon School." said Stella. "They can evolve into Silcoons, which then evolve into Beautiflies."

"But they also can evolve into Cascoons, which evolve into Dustoxes." said Clyde.

"But why is this Wurmple purple while the one in Lincoln's pokedex is red?" asked Dawn.

"This must be a shiny Wurmple." said Lincoln.

"You mean a rare kind of Pokemon that's a different color then the one they normally are?" asked Clyde.

"Exactly." replied Lincoln. Stella takes out a pokeball.

"I'm catching this one." said Stella. "Eevee, go!" She throws Eevee's pokeball and releases her. "Eevee, Quick Attack!" Eevee charges at Wurmple with incredible speed and rams it, knocking it back. The Wurmple fires several purple darts from its mouth, and they hit Eevee, damaging her; it turned purple under Eevee's eyes.

"Eevee's poisoned!" said Clyde.

"Don't worry, Stella; I have some Antidotes in my backpack." said Lincoln. "I'll give her one as soon as you catch that Wurmple."

"Thanks, Lincoln." replied Stella. Eevee coughs and loses stamina from her poisoning. "Eevee, use Tackle!" Eevee charges at Wurmple and rams it, knocking it back. The Wurmple jumps at Eevee and rams her, knocking her back; she loses more stamina from the poison.

"We're not giving up!" said Stella with a look of determination. "Eevee, Swift!" Eevee releases stars from her body and they hit Wurmple, knocking it to the ground; it struggles to get up. Stella takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Wurmple, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around a few times until it clicked. Stella picks up Wurmple's pokeball.

"All right! Wurmple's mine!" cheered Stella.

"Way to go, Stella." said Lincoln. He reaches into his backpack and pulls out an Antidote. "Here you go." He gives Stella the Antidote.

"Thanks, Lincoln." said Stella before kissing Lincoln. She sprays Eevee with the Antidote and cures her of her poisoning. Lincoln looks up Wurmple's information.

"This says your Wurmple's a girl, she knows Tackle, String Shot, and Poison Sting; she has the Shield Dust ability, which prevents attacks used on her from having a secondary effect." said Lincoln.

"So, if I had Roserade use Poison Sting on Wurmple, it won't poison her?" asked Stella.

"Exactly." said Lincoln.

"Let's move on to the next tree." said Dawn. They go to another tree and sees it was shaking violently.

"What do you think's in there?" asked Sam. She gets her answer when a purple monkeylike Pokemon with a tail that had a hand on the end of it, comes down onto a lower branch of the tree.

"What's that?" asked Clyde as Lincoln holds out his pokedex towards the Pokemon.

"Aipom, the Long Tail Pokemon. It lives atop giant trees. It wraps its tail around a branch so it won't fall off while asleep." said Lincoln's pokedex.

"Who wants it?" asked Sam. Luna takes out her guitar and strums it a little, getting the Aipom's attention; out of curiosity, it comes down to ground level and walks cautiously over to Luna.

"Seems interested in your guitar." said Clyde. Aipom's tail reaches over its head towards the guitar and strums it, making it dance with delight.

"Looks like it likes to jam." said Sam. The Aipom grabs the guitar in its hands and uses its tail one to start playing it.

"This Pokemon likes to rock!" said Luna. After a while, the Aipom hands the guitar back to Luna and dances around.

"Looks like it enjoyed doing that." said Lincoln with a smile. Luna kneels down so it at eye level with Aipom.

"Wanna come with me and jam some more?" asked Luna. Aipom does a head tilt before smiling and nodding. With a grin on her face, Luna takes out an empty pokeball and tosses it at Aipom, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles before clicking.

"Rockin!" said Sam. Lincoln looks up Aipom's information on his pokedex.

"This says Aipom's a girl, she knows Scratch, Tail Whip, Sand Attack, Astonish, Baton Pass, and Tickle; she has the Pickup like Pachirisu does." said Lincoln.

"Rad! So, she'll find some free stuff after battles." said Luna.

"One more tree to go." said Lincoln. They move over to the last tree where they see a Pokemon that looked like a couple of cherries sitting on a branch.

"It's so cute!" said Dawn. Lincoln takes out his pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.

"Cherubi, the Cherry Pokemon. Sunlight colors it red. When the small ball is drained of nutrients and shriveled, evolution is near." said Lincoln's pokedex.

"I'm catching this one." said Dawn, pulling out a pokeball. "Sylveon, spotlight!" She throws Sylveon's pokeball and releases her. "Okay, Sylveon, use Tackle!" Sylveon charges at Cherubi and rams it, knocking it off the tree, but it lands on its legs. Cherubi releases multiple glowing green leaves from its body, and they hit Sylveon, damaging her.

"Okay, Sylveon, use Disarming Voice!" said Dawn. Sylveon lets out a yell and releases a beam of purple hearts from her mouth and it hits Cherubi, knocking it to the ground, but it gets up; it leaps at Sylveon and rams her. "Sylveon, use Swift!" Sylveon releases stars from her body and they hit Cherubi, knocking it to the ground. Dawn takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Cherubi, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around until it clicked.

"Yippee! I caught a Cherubi!" said Dawn.

"Congrats, girl." said Sam. Lincoln uses his pokedex to look up Cherubi's information.

"Your Cherubi's a girl, she knows Morning Sun, Tackle, Leafage, and Growth; she has the Chlorophyll ability, which increases her speed in intense sunlight." said Lincoln.

Stella spent some time training her new Wurmple and she learned Bug Bite; after she did, she began to glow.

"Wurmple's evolving!" said Stella. Everyone watched as Wurmple began to change; when the glowing faded, she looked like a tan cocoon with blue eyes. Lincoln points his pokedex at the newly evolved Wurmple.

"Silcoon, the Cocoon Pokemon, and the evolved form of Wurmple. It drinks dew that collects on its silk while it waits for evolution. Its hard cocoon repels attacks." said Lincoln's pokedex.

"It says here your Silcoon learned Harden when she evolved, and she now has the Shed Skin ability which cures her of any status condition she has." said Lincoln.

"Should we get going to Eterna City?" asked Clyde.

"Let's go." said Lincoln before he checks his map. "We'll need to go through a place called Eterna Forest to get there."

"Then let's get a move on." said Dawn.

"Our next Pokemon Contest awaits." said Stella.

"And my next gym battle." said Lincoln.

The group heads towards their next destination. What awaits them along the way as their Sinnoh adventure continues?
