Returning to Aether Paradise (Part Six)
Ed and Lusamine were currently facing each other while the rest of the group watched on.
"Clefable, go!" said Lusamine, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Clefable.
"She has a Clefable like Tara did." said Ed, remembering his rival back at Sinnoh. The Rotom Pokedex comes out of Edd's backpack.
"Clefable, the Fairy Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Cleffa. Some scientists believe that it gazes intently at the sky on nights with a full moon because it's homesick." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Go, Muk!" said Ed, throwing Muk's pokeball and releasing him.
"Clefable, use Body Slam!" said Lusamine. Clefable leaps up and comes down at Muk, slamming into him.
"Muk, Poison Fang!" said Ed. Muk's mouth glowed purple and he bites onto Clefable, dealing super effective damage; it turned purple under Clefable's eyes.
"Clefable's poisoned." said Edd. Clefable coughs and loses stamina from her poisoning.
"Clefable, use Sing!" said Lusamine. Clefable begins to sing a melodious tune; Muk begins to get drowsy and falls asleep.
"Muk, wake up!" said Ed.
"Clefable, Double Slap!" said Lusamine. Clefable runs to Muk and slaps him across the face, repeatedly. Clefable loses more stamina from her poisoning.
"Wake up, Muk!" said Ed. Muk suddenly wakes up, surprising Lusamine. "Muk, use Gunk Shot!" Muk fires multiple globs of mud out of his mouth and they hit Clefable, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out. "Great job, Muk."
"Splendid job, Ed." said Edd. Lusamine returns Clefable to its pokeball; she puts it away and pulls out another one.
"Milotic, go!" said Lusamine, throwing her pokeball and releasing a cream colored, serpentine Pokemon with pink antanee and long fins on its head, blue and pink scales on the lower part of its body and four blue fins on the end of its tail.
"Milotic, the Tender Pokemon, and the evolved form of Feebas. Its dwelling place is the bottom of big lakes. Those who behold its loveliness are said to have their hearts purified." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"It's so pretty." said Jimmy.
"I know; but it still belongs to Lusamine." said Sarah.
"Milotic, use Aqua Tail!" said Lusamine. Water spirals around Milotic's tail and it lunges at Muk.
"Use Harden!" said Ed. Muk's body shines and his defense increases; Milotic's tail smashes onto Muk, damaging him. "Now use Poison Fang!" Muk's mouth glows purple and he bites Milotic's tail, damaging it. It turned purple under Milotic's eyes.
"Ha ha; Milotic's poisoned." said Sarah. Milotic suddenly begins to glow. "What's going on with Milotic?"
"Milotic's Marvel Scale ability activated." replied Lusamine. "When Milotic gets a status condition, her defense increases. "Now, Milotic, Water Pulse!" Milotic forms a ball of blue water in front of her mouth, and she launches it at Muk, hitting him. Milotic coughs and loses stamina from her poisoning.
"Use Screech!" said Ed. Muk lets out a loud screech, releasing soundwaves at Milotic, weakening her defense.
"Brilliant idea, Ed; using Screech to weaken Milotic's defense is an excellent strategy." said Edd.
"But will it be enough to help Muk?" asked Lusamine. "Milotic, Hydro Pump!" Milotic fires a powerful stream of water out of her mouth, and it hits Muk, knocking him out.
"Don't give up, Ed!" said Maxiley.
"I wasn't going to." replied Ed as he returns Muk to his pokeball. "You did good, Muk." He puts Muk's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Ampharos, come out!" He throws Ampharos pokeball and releases her. "Ampharos, use Charge!" Ampharos becomes surrounded by sparks of electricity.
"Milotic, Aqua Tail!" said Lusamine. Milotic's tail becomes surrounded by water and she hits Ampharos with it. Milotic loses more stamina from her poisoning.
"Ampharos, Discharge!" said Ed. Ampharos releases bolts of elctricity from her body and they hit Milotic, dealing super effective damage.
"Hydro Pump!" said Lusamine. Milotic fires a powerful stream of water out of her mouth, and it hits Ampharos, damaging her.
"Thunder Punch!" said Ed. Electricity surrounds the end of Ampharos' arm; she runs at Milotic and punches her across the face, dealing super effective damage and knocking her out.
"Way to go, Ed!" said Eddy. Lusamine returns Milotic to her pokeball; she then pulls out another one.
"Lilligant, go!" said Lusamine, throwing a pokeball and releasing a humanoid, plantlike Pokemon with a red flower with white spots on its head.
"Lilligant, the Flowering Pokemon, and the evolved form of Petilil. It's well liked by other Pokémon because of its beauty. The flower on its head needs constant care, or it will soon wither and rot." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Why did a Pokemon so beautiful have to belong to a meanie like Lusamine?" asked Jimmy.
"Lilligant, Petal Dance!" said Lusamine. Lilligant jumps up and spins around, releasing pink petals from its body and they hit Ampharos, damaging her.
"Ampharos, Brick Break!" said Ed. Ampharos runs at Lilligant and smashes her arm onto it, damaging it. Lilligant spins and releases more pink petals that hits Ampharos, knocking her out.
"Why did Lilligant use Petal Dance without being told to?" asked Sarah.
"Like Mel's Ursaring's Thrash, Petal Dance will also keep being used, even when Lilligant wasn't told to." said Edd. And like Thrash, Petal Dance will cause Lilligant to be confused after it's done using it."
"Keep battling, Ed!" said Eddy. Ed returns Ampharos to her pokeball.
"You did good, Ampharos." said Ed. He puts Ampharos' pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Flareon!" He throws Flareon's pokeball and releases her. "Flareon, use Fire Fang!" Flareon charges at Lilligant while her mouth was covered in fire and she bites Lilligant, dealing super effective damage; fire covered Lilligant's body.
"Lilligant's burned." said Edd. Lilligant spins around and releases more pink petals from her body, and they hit Flareon, but not dealing much damage to her. Lilligant flinches in pain from its burn.
"Flareon, Lava Plume!" said Ed. Flareon releases an explosion of smog and fire from her body, and it washes over Lilligant, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Go, Ed!" cheered Jimmy. Lusamine growls while returning Lilligant to her pokeball; she then pulls out another one.
"Lopunny, go!" said Lusamine, throwing a pokeball, and releasing a Lopunny.
"Lopunny, the Rabbit Pokemon, and the evolved form of Buneary. It's notably wary and has a dislike of fighting, but at the same time, it can deliver powerful kicks with its lithe legs." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Lopunny, use Jump Kick!" said Lusamine. Lopunny jumps up and comes down towards Flareon, it kicks Flareon and knocks her back.
"Flareon, Fire Fang!" said Ed. Flareon bites Lopunny's leg with fire covered fangs, damaging it.
"Lopunnny, Dizzy Punch!" said Lusamine. Lopunny's ears become surrounded by multi-colored energy, and it repeatedly strikes Flareon with them; Flareon begins stumbling around.
"Flareon's confused!" said Edd.
"Flareon, try using Lava Plume!" said Ed. Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of Flareon and she damages herself.
"Lopunny, Quick Attack!" said Lusamine. Lopunny charges at Flareon with incredible speed and it rams into Flareon, knocking her to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Don't worry, Ed; you can do it!" said Edd. Ed returns Flareon to her pokeball.
"You did your best, Flareon." said Ed. He puts Flareon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Decidueye, go!" He throws Decidueye's pokeball and releases him. "Decidueye, Sucker Punch!" Decidueye leaps at Lopunny with incredible speed and punches it across the face.
"Lopunny, Ice Punch!" said Lusamine. One of Lopunny's ears glowed light blue and it hits Decidueye with it, dealing super effective damage.
"Decidueye, Leaf Blade!" said Ed. The edge of Decidueye's wing glows green; he slashes Lopunny with it, knocking it out.
"Way to go, Ed!" cheered Maxiley. Lusamine returns Lopunny to its pokeball; she puts it away and pulls out another one.
"You're doing quite well, Ed; but let's see how you fare against my final Pokemon." said Ed. "Go, Bewear!" She throws a pokeball and releases a large, bearlike Pokemon with a pink head and a black body.
"Bewear, the Strong Arm Pokemon, and the evolved form of Stufful. It boasts tremendous physical strength. Many people call it the most dangerous Pokémon in the Alola region." said the Rotom Pokdex.
"So, Nathan's Stufful will evolve into that?" asked Jimmy.
"I guess so." said Sarah.
"Decidueye, Leaf Blade!" said Ed. Decidueye's wing glows green on its edge and he slashes Bewear with it, damaging it.
"Bewear, Payback!" said Lusamine. Bewear charges at Decidueye and hits him with its paw, dealing super effective damage.
"Decidueye, use Pluck!" said Ed. Decidueye flies at Bewear while his beak glowed white and grew long; he jabs Bewear with it, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Bewear, Zen Headbutt!" said Lusamine. The top of Bewear's head glows blue; it charges at Decidueye and rams him with its head, knocking Decidueye back, and making him flinch. "Now use Payback!" Bewear charges at Decidueye and hits him with its paw, dealing super effective damage, knocking him to the ground.
"Don't give up, Decidueye!" said Ed. As Decidueye struggles to get up, a green aura surrounds his body. "Decidueye's Overgrow ability!" Ed reaches into his pocket and pulls out his Grassium-Z Crystal; he puts it on his Z-Ring. He does the pose Mallow taught him and channels energy onto Decidueye, and the Z-Power symbol appears.
"Decidueye, Bloom Doom!" said Ed. Decidueye strikes several poses and becomes surrounded by a light green aura; flowers suddenly covered the entire area. The energy surrounding Decidueye expands, creating a powerful explosion; Bewear gets caught in the explosion and it falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Ed did it!" said Maxiley.
"I knew he would." said Eddy. Lusamine returns Bewear to its pokeball; after she puts it away, she looks at Ed.
"You are strong, Ed." said Lusamine; she then gives Ed pokedollars. "Perhaps I made you kids feel uneasy about my ability to handle this task. I will be fine." She then looks at Guzma. "Guzma, with me." Guzma runs to Lusamine.
"Yes, ma'am." said Guzma.
"I am now off to beat Necrozma." said Lusamine, turning around while carrying Cosmog's cage.
"Are you sure you can?" asked Lillie.
"You're a sweet girl." said Lusamine. "But do not worry, you can leave it all in my hands." She holds up Cosmog's cage. "Children really would all be much happier if they'd only listen to the adults around them." Cosmog's cage suddenly begins to glow, and a blue ball of light comes out of it and creates an Ultra Wormhole. Lusamine turned towards the group, and she floats into the wormhole; Guzma runs past the group and jumps into the Ultra Wormhole himself.
"Good riddance to that guy." said Eddy. The wormhole then vanished.
"Mother, why?!" exclaimed Lillie. She suddenly sees a dark blue orb in a golden shell floating above the cage; she walks to it. "Nebby, are you all right?"
"That's Nebby?" asked Jimmy.
"Did it evolve?" asked Edd.
"It's not moving." said Lillie. She takes Nebby and puts it in her duffel bag.
"Let's get out of here." said Eddy. They all walked to the teleportation pad. Moments later, they all arrived at Lusamine's room.
"You are all unharmed; oh, thank goodness." said Wicke who was in the room.
"But what about Lusamine and Guzma?" asked Maxiley.
"Even when Mom is like the way she is, she's still my mother." said Lillie. "We can't just leave her in some unknown world on her own, even if it is to beat Necrozma." Zossie and Dulse suddenly walked into the room.
"What is this?" asked Dulse. "That Lusamine; she is not defeating Necrozma for our sake, but for her own satisfaction?!"
"Miss President; why would she do this?" asked Zossie.
"That machine that the scientist, Colress helped develop with our technology, the machine that would restrain Necrozma." said Dulse. "We were going to send it back to our world with someone strong to safely use it, but she is going to use it for herself?!"
"You were going to send someone back to your world?" asked Edd. "Do you know some other way to open an Ultra Wormhole?"
"The altar on Poni." replied Dulse. "The Pokemon that appears there is called the beast that devours the sun."
"We rode on the back of a Pokemon like that." said Zossie. "That's how we got here to Alola."
"Do Lusamine and Guzma not understand how powerful Necrozma truly is, or do they fight it, even knowing that?" asked Dulse.
"If Necrozma awakens, it will come to steal the light from Alola." said Zossie. "You must protect your world's light; Alola is so brilliant and nice."
"You got that right." said Eddy.
"I have a difficult time with such brilliance, but the light of Alola is a good thing." said Dulse. "The aura of your totems, and, yes, even the light of your Z-Powers; but now, if you'll excuse us." Dulse and Zossie both left the room.
"Miss Lillie, if you and your friends would like to rest first, I have prepared a few beds in the staff's residential quarters." said Wicke.
"Yeah, I'm pretty beat." said Eddy.
"Yes; we can go to Poni Island in the morning." said Edd. Lillie walks to Lusamine's bed.
"I think I'll stay here." said Lusamine. "I want to spend some time trying to understand what my mother might have been thinking."
"If that's what you want, Lillie, then I will respect that." said Edd. Lillie turned towards Edd.
"Thank you, Double D." replied Lillie.
The next day, the group were outside Aether Paradise.
"You guys ready for the Poni Island trials?" asked Eddy.
"Yeah!" replied the rest of the group.
"Alola, everyone." they hear Lillie say. They turn to see her walking over to them; she now wore a white shirt with a light blue ribbon, a white miniskirt with a light blue line, her hair was tied into a ponytail, white loafers over white socks, and she had a pink backpack with a white ribbon on it.
"Oh my." said Edd, blushing.
"I picked these clothes up in Malie; do you think they suit me?" asked Lillie.
"Absolutely." replied Edd, making Lillie blush.
"Thank you, Double D." said Lillie.
"I feel like there's so much to do now, to save Nebby, and my mother." said Lillie. "I...I want to be like you, Double D. I want to be strong enough to face any trial."
"I'm sure you will, Lillie." said Edd.
"I am going to try my hardest." said Lillie. "This is my Z-Powered form." She strikes a few poses; she then laughs. She reaches into her backpack and pulled out what appeared to be a flute. "I found this downstairs; it's the Moon Flute, an artifact from Alola's past."
"What's it for?" asked Edd.
"It's said it's to be played under the moon's light." replied Lillie. "It's said when the Sun Flute and the Moon Flute are played together, it's said they can call the legendary Pokemon."
"Cool." said Ed.
"It's like the members of the Ultra Recon Squad said, if the legendary Pokemon does exist, we might be able to reach that other world where Necrozma is." said Lillie. "But for now, you and your friends should focus on your trials on Poni Island."
"If that's what you want, Lillie." said Edd.
"It is; I wish you the best of luck, everyone." said Lillie. "Here's a little something for luck just for you, Double D." She leans towards Edd and kisses him on the lips; his face turns red. "Go down to the docks; one of the workers will take you to the Poni Island on the boat."
"Thank you, Lillie." said Edd.
Later, the group are riding on a boat towards the direction of Poni Island. What awaits the group there? Wait and find out.
