Ancient Poni Path
After the group leaves Seafolk Village, they decide to explore the area a little bit to see what kind of Pokemon lived in the area.
While they did so, they took the time to train up their Pokemon for a while.
Ed's Decidueye learned Feather Dance, his Muk learned Belch and to Ed's dismay, Memento, his Gigalith learned Stone Edge, his Ampharos used Cotton Guard, his Dewgong learned Dive and Aqua Tail, and his Flareon got stronger.
Edd's Primarina learned Captivate, his Toucannon learned Hyper Voice, his Ariados learned Psychic and Poison Jab, his Magnezone learned Lock On, his Stoutland got stronger, and his Espeon learned Power Swap.
Eddy's Incineroar learned Scary Face, his Vikavolt learned Agility, his Meowth learned Captivate, his Leafeon learned Leaf Blade, his Poliwrath got stronger, and besides Noibat learning Air Slash, she freezes up and starts to glow.
"Noibat's evolving!" shouts Jimmy. Everyone watches as Noibat starts to change; whe she finished, she was bigger, her face and ears were black with a red v-shaped nose, her body and wings were black while she had a purple belly and wingtips, red claws and talons, a thick white ring of fur around her neck, and a long tail.
"What is she now?" asked Maxiley. The Rotom Pokedex comes out of Edd's backpack and points itself at Eddy's newly evolved Pokemon.
"Noivern, the Sound Wave Pokemon, and the evolved form of Noibat. This hot-blooded Pokémon attacks anything it sees with ultrasonic waves that can crush boulders." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Sweet!" said Eddy. "I can't wait to have her battle in the Alola League!"
Sarah's Blissey learned Last Resort, her Ledian learned Double-Edge, Mrs. Mime learned Baton Pass, her Alomomola learned Safeguard, her Salazzle learned Flamethrower, and her Jolteon got stronger.
Jimmy's Lucario learned Me First and Work Up, his Butterfree learned Quiver Dance, his Raichu and Umbreon got stronger, his Lycanroc learned Stone Edge, and his Wishiwashi learned Endeavor.
Maxiley's Pupitar got stronger, his Crabrawler learned Dynamic Punch, his Vaporeon got stronger, his Trevenant learned Phantom Force, his Xatu learned Future Sight, and his Turtonator learned Dragon Pulse and Shell Trap.
Lillie looked in awe at the dedication the Eds and their friends have in the training of their Pokemon; it was no wonder to her that the Eds were the top three trainers at the Lily of the Valley Conference. Maxiley suddenly sees a purple Pokemon with silver plating across its body.
"Wow, a Wimpod!" said Maxiley. The Rotom Pokedex floats near the Pokemon, now identified as a Wimpod.
"Wimpod, the Turn Tail Pokemon. An astonishingly cowardly Pokémon, Wimpod will whir its legs at high speeds to run away if anything comes near it." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"I believe Guzma's Golisopod evolves from Wimpod." said Edd.
"I won't let that stop me from catching it." said Maxiley. "But I hope I can catch it; Wimpods have an ability called Wimp Out, which has them immediately run away they lose more than half their energy." He pulls out a blue pokeball with yellow stripes.
"What kind of pokeball is that, Maxie?" asked Sarah.
"It's called a Quick Ball; these have a chance of catching a Pokemon quickly, even if you don't battle the Pokemon first." replied Maxiley. When he saw the Wimpod not looking, he quickly throws the Quick Ball at it, hitting it and sucking it in. Maxiley looks with intensity at the Quick Ball as it wiggled around; seconds later, it clicks. "Yes! I caught a Wimpod!"
"Congratulations, Maxiley." said Edd. Wimpod's Quick Ball vanishes due to Maxiley already having six Pokemon on his team.
"Dang it; I guess I'll have to wait until we get to a Pokemon Center so I can exchange one of my Pokemon for Wimpod." said Maxiley.
"Let's just keep going." said Eddy.
"Pokemon trainers are amazing." said Lillie. "It seems like a hard path to walk, and even so, you don't let yourself be held back by fear."
"You know it." said Eddy.
"In Sinnoh, we faced all sorts of challenges and grew as people with each one we overcame." said Edd.
After the group returned their Pokemon to their pokeballs, they, along with Lillie continued travelling east until they come across what appeared to be the ruins.
"Fascinating." said Edd as he examines the structures of one of the buildings.
"What's this place?" asked Sarah.
"I don't know." said Edd.
"But you're supposed to be the smart one." said Eddy.
"I know, but we've never been here before or heard anything about this place." said Edd.
"What now?" asked Jimmy. They look ahead and see a Mudsdale standing in the road.
"A Mudsdale." said Jimmy.
"Does it belong to anyone?" asked Maxiley.
"Alola, everyone." said a familiar voice. Everyone turned to see Hapu walking over to them.
"It's Hapu." said Jimmy. Hapu blushes when he sees Jimmy.
"So, that's Hapu?" asked Lillie.
"Who's this?" asked Hapu as she looks at Lillie.
"This is Lillie." replied Edd.
"Pleased to meet you." said Hapu.
"Hapu; do you know where we can find the Kahuna on this island?" asked Jimmy.
"The Kahuna? Don't have one here on Poni." replied Hapu.
"What?!" exclaimed Lillie; she turned towards the rest of the group. "What do we do now, everyone?"
"Well, do not get distressed. I wouldn't say that I know nothing of this." said Hapu. "All right, let us proceed to the ruins; you all stick with me, especially you, Jimmy." Jimmy blushes in response. Hapu climbs onto her Mudsdale and rides it up a path.
"Well, let's go, everyone." said Eddy. As Lillie looks around, she notices an elderly woman looking at them.
"Alola, everyone." said the woman.
"Alola to you, too, madam." said Edd.
"How well-mannered you are." said the woman. "Anyway, I'm Hapu's grandmother."
"Really?" asked Jimmy.
"Are you all friends with my granddaughter?" asked the woman now revealed to be Hapu's grandmother.
"You could say that." said Maxiley.
"That's good." said Hapu's grandmother. "Travelling around the islands... making new friends; you kids are luckier than you know."
"Thank you, ma'am." said Maxiley. Just then, they see a Pokemon that most of the recognized walking towards them.
"It's a Machamp!" said Eddy.
"You mean like Devon had at the Lily of the Valley Conference?" asked Sarah.
"What does the Rotom Pokedex say about it?" asked Ed. It suddenly flies out of Edd's backpack and points itself at the Machamp.
"Machamp, the Superpower Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Machamp. With four arms, it can attack and defend simultaneously. It's said to have mastered every martial art in the world." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"If you want to head to the Poni Island ruins; how about some help from this old gran?" asked Hapu's grandmother.
"What do you mean?" asked Ed.
"Machamp here can easily shove stones that would be too heavy for you all to move." said Hapu's grandmother. "Let me see your Ride Pager for a minute." Edd hands the Ride Pager over, and Hapu's grandmother who registers Machamp onto it.
"Thank you." said Edd.
"The path to the ruins is blocked by large stones." said Hapu's grandmother. "Now you can call on Machamp to help you with them."
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
"I wish you both a brilliant future." said Hapu's grandmother before she heads into a nearby house.
"Who's ready to go?" asked Eddy. Everyone cheers in response.
The group has met up with Hapu again and met her grandmother who registers another Pokemon onto their Ride Pagers. What else will they experience as their Alola adventures continue?
