Ula'ula Island and Malie Garden
The ferry from Aether Paradise speeds away from the dock the Eds, Sarah, Jimmy, and Maxiley are currently standing on. After seeing the boat disappear from sight, they turned towards a city.
"Here we are, Ula'ula Island!" said Eddy.
"Or to be more specific, we're in Malie City." said Edd. He looks up to see it was getting dark. "Perhaps we should head to where our first trial is in the morning, it is getting late."
"Yeah, and I'm hungry, guys." said Ed.
"Sure, we can wait until tomorrow." said Eddy. Sarah sees Maxiley with a sad smile on his face.
"What's wrong, Maxiley?" asked Sarah.
"Nothing; it's just that I've been on Akala Island my whole life, so it's strange being on a different island here in Alola." replied Maxiley.
"You just need to adjust to being on a new island." said Edd.
"You're right." said Maxiley. The group walk out of the dock and went straight to a Pokemon Center. Once inside, Jimmy went to the PokeMart to sell the Pearl String he found at Hano Beach, after receiving fifteen thousand pokedollars, he uses some of the money to buy five pokeballs. Soon after, the group went straight to the cafeteria for dinner. They were soon on a table, eating.
"So, what do you think the first trial on this island is like?" asked Jimmy. "You think we'll be facing more Totem Pokemon?"
"Seeing how we took on Totem Pokemon on the other trials, it's a definite possibility." said Edd. After the group finished eating, they showered and brushed their teeth; after that, they went to their room, climbed onto beds, and went to sleep.
The next morning, after having breakfast, the group exited the Pokemon Center.
"Alola, everyone." said a familiar voice that made Edd blush. Everyone looks to see Lillie.
"Alola, Lillie." said Edd. "When did you get here in Ula'ula Island?"
"Several minutes ago." replied Lillie. "Professor Kukui is here too."
"Really? Where is he now?" asked Edd. Lillie turns and points at an entrance.
"He's in Malie Garden." replied Lillie.
"Malie Garden? What's that?" asked Jimmy.
"It's a garden that has an outlook much like the Johto Region." replied Lillie. "In fact, all of Malie City has an outlook similar to Johto seeing how it was all designed by people from there."
"Johto? Isn't that one of the other Pokemon regions you read about, Double D?" asked Eddy.
"I believe so." said Edd. "Since Professor Kukui is there, we should tell him about our encounter with the Ultra Beast at Aether Paradise."
"And I want to see what this garden is like." said Sarah.
"I feel I should inform all of you that the use of Ride Pokemon is forbidden within the walls of Malie Garden." said Lillie.
"Thank you for informing us, Lillie." said Edd, making Lillie blush. The group walks to the entrance and goes through to see a large open area with multiple lakes and rivers with bridges going across them, plus a small tower, and a small restaurant.
"This place is so amazing." said Sarah.
"It certainly is." said Edd.
"What kind of Pokemon are here?" asked Ed with excitement. As they looked around, a boy approaches Sarah.
"Excuse me, but would you like to have a Pokemon battle with me?" asked the boy.
"Sure." replied Sarah. She and the boy walked several feet from each other and faced each other while the Eds, Jimmy, and Maxiley watched.
"Get him, Sarah." said Maxiley. Sarah pulls out a pokeball while the boy pulls out a Net Ball.
"Go, Dewpider!" said the boy, throwing the Net Ball and releasing a Dewpider.
"Go, Jolteon!" said Sarah, throwing Jolteon's pokeball and releasing her. "Jolteon, Thunder Shock!" Jolteon releases electricity from her body and it hits Dewpider, dealing super effective damage. Dewpider suddenly becomes surrounded by electricity.
"I believe Dewpider's paralyzed." said Edd.
"Dewpider, try using Bubble Beam!" said Dewpider's trainer. Unfortunately for him, paralysis stops Dewpider from attacking.
"Tackle!" said Sarah. Jolteon charges at Dewpider and rams it, knocking it to the ground, unconscious.
"Jolteon wins." said Edd.
"You did it, Jolteon!" said Sarah.
"Way to go, baby sister!" cheered Ed. A shocked look appeared on Dewpider's trainer's face.
"Wait, you're one of the Eds' sister?!" asked Dewpider's trainer.
"You bet." replied Sarah.
"No wonder I lost to you so easily." replied Dewpider's trainer, returning Dewpider to its Net Ball. He gives Sarah pokedollars and walks to the Eds while pulling a magazine out of his backpack. "Can I have your autographs?"
"Sure, kid." replied Eddy as he takes the magazine. After the Eds signed Dewpider's trainer's magazine, he walks away. Edd looks around and sees Professor Kukui, sitting on a bench outside the restaurant.
"There's Professor Kukui." said Edd. Sarah returns Jolteon to her pokeball and the group walk over to Professor Kukui, who hears them approaching them.
"Alola, everyone." said Professor Kukui.
"Alola, Professor Kukui." replied Edd.
"So how's your journey coming along?" asked Professor Kukui. Edd tells Professor Kukui about Aether Paradise, as well as the Ultra Wormhole and their encounter with the Ultra Beast.
"You got to see an Ultra Wormhole and an Ultra Beast?!" asked Professor Kukui.
"Yes. Professor Burnet must be informed." said Edd.
"I'll be sure to tell her next time I see her." replied Professor Kukui. "Maybe someday we'll go through an Ultra Wormhole."
"It would be a fascinating experience." replied Edd.
"But for now, you should all focus on the Island Challenge." said Professor Kukui.
"Yes, we intend to train even harder after our encounter with the Ultra Beast." said Edd. Professor Kukui nods in approval.
"Oh, and how are your starter Pokemon doing?" asked Professor Kukui. The Eds responded by each of them taking out a pokeball and throwing them, releasing Decidueye, Incineroar, and Primarina. "Congratulations, Eds; I had no doubt that you would help them evolve to their final forms. After your next trial, come back here to Malie Garden, I'll have something for each of you."
"Sure thing." said Eddy.
"Anyway, your next trial is west of here on Mount Hokulani at the Hokulani Observatory." said Professor Kukui.
"An observatory?!" replied Edd, excitedly.
"Yes; you can all take the bus there; there's a bus stop at the end of Route 10." said Professor Kukui.
"Sounds better than climbing." said Eddy. Moments later, the group leave Malie Garden. They begin walking west towards Route 10 on their way to Mount Hokulani where their next trial awaits them.
Meanwhile, in the fishing boat Eddy's brother was on, a man in overalls, covered in soot was walking out of a room that had smoke coming out of it, holding a wrench. He walks to Eddy's brother, who had his arms crossed while tapping his foot, impatiently.
"It may take a while before the engine is fixed." said the man. Eddy's brother growls in frustration and kicks a metal support beam. A loud yell of pain can be heard from outside the boat.
