Sibling Reunion
We join the group on Route 11 as Eddy was facing off against a man wearing karate gi in a Pokemon battle. The man throws his pokeball, releasing a very large, humanoid Pokemon with a cream-colored upper body, yellow extensions around its waist resembling a skirt, and large orange hands with three fingers on each one.
"It's so big!" said Ed. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Hariyama, the Arm Thrust Pokemon, and the evolved form of Makuhita. Hariyama that are big and fat aren't necessarily strong. There are some small ones that move nimbly and use moves skillfully." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Well, the bigger they are, the harder they fall." said Eddy as he throws his pokeball, releasing his Noibat.
"I will not be defeated by a child!" said the karate man.
"We'll see about that." said Eddy. "Okay, Noibat; use Screech!" Noibat releases a high-pitches soundwave which makes Hariyama cover its ears and lowers its defense.
"Hariyama, use Vital Throw!" said the karate man. Hariyama grabs Noibat and throws her at the ground hard, but not doing much damage.
"Noibat, use Wing Attack!" said Eddy. Noibat quickly gets off the ground, flies towards Hariyama, and strikes it with one of her wings, doing super effective damage.
"Hariyama, use Arm Thrust!" said the karate man. Hariyama strikes Noibat repeatedly with the palms of its hands, still not doing a lot to her.
"Noibat, use Air Cutter!" said Eddy. Noibat flaps her wings, releasing a bunch of blades of wind at the Hariyama, doing enough super effective damage to it to knock it out.
"This can't be!" said the karate man.
"Eddy won!" cheered Jimmy, getting the karate man's attention.
"Eddy? The Lily of the Valley Conference champion?!" the karate man responds.
"That's me, all right." said Eddy.
"My apologies for calling you a mere child, young champion." said the karate man as he bows to him.
"Don't sweat it." said Eddy. After the karate man returns his Hariyama to its pokeball, he gives Eddy pokedollars, and heads to Malie City to get his Pokemon treated.
"That was great, Eddy." said Maxiley.
"Okay, everyone; onward to our next island trial!" said Eddy. He and the others continue walking until they reached Route 12, a mountain path that had parts of it covered in sharp-looking rocks.
"That looks unpleasant to walk on." said Edd.
"Hey, big guy; can you carry all of us over that?" Eddy asked Ed. Before Ed could respond, they hear a familiar voice calling out to them.
"Alola, everyone!" said Hapu. Everyone turns around to greet her.
"Alola, Hapu." said Edd.
"Who's that?" asked Maxiley.
"This is Hapu." said Edd. "We met her outside Royal Avenue the day you and the rest of us first met."
"I've been looking for you all." said Hapu.
"How come?" asked Edd.
"I want to register my Mudsdale for you all onto your Ride Pagers." said Hapu. "He can easily carry you all across the rocky paths along this route with no difficulty at all."
"That would be wonderful." said Edd.
"Thanks, Hapu." said Jimmy with a smile, making Hapu blush.
"Consider it thanks for helping me back on Akala Island." said Hapu as she registers Mudsdale to their Ride Pagers. "I have extra ones that each of you can ride on."
"Sweet!" said Eddy. After that, Hapu leaves, but not before taking a long look at Jimmy with adoration on her face. The group then uses their Ride Pagers to call for some Mudsdales, then climb onto them and start moving up the path with Maxiley riding with Sarah. As they do, Edd notices that Eddy was deep in thought with a smile on his face.
"What's on your mind, Eddy?" asked Edd.
"Just thinking of what we've seen and did here in Alola." said Eddy. "The money we've made, the fame we have, the people we met... including Tanya." He blushes as he thinks of her.
"I agree our journey so far has been quite eventful." said Edd.
"It was so much fun!" said Sarah.
"I loved all the Pokemon I've seen so far." said Ed.
"So do I!" said Jimmy.
"I enjoyed travelling with you guys." said Maxiley.
"I can't imagine anything that can ruin this trip for us." said Eddy.
"Hey, pipsqueak!" a voice Eddy remembered called out.
"It couldn't be." said Eddy as he and the others turn around to see Eddy's brother walking over the sharp rocks towards them.
"Who's that?" asked Maxiley.
"Why that's Eddy's elder brother." said Edd. Eddy's brother soon reached the group.
"What are you doing here?" asked Eddy with a frown.
"It's a funny story; you see, I lost my job at Mondo-a-Go Go..." Eddy's brother started to say before he was cut off by Ed laughing.
"Ha, Ha, Ha; Ha, Ha, Ha!" Ed laughed.
"Ed, just because he said it was a funny story doesn't mean it was actually funny." said Edd.
"Oh." said Ed.
"Anyway, after I lost my job and I got kicked out of my trailer, I came back to our parents' house to stay with them; and then I hear about you and this Pokemon stuff; also, our folks showed me the Pokemon battle you and your dorky friend had, and showed me your trophy, so I wanted to get in on this Pokemon gig." said Eddy's brother.
"What makes you think you can even cut it as a Pokemon trainer?" asked Eddy with a frown.
"If you can do it, then so can I." said Eddy's brother with a smirk on his face.
"Yeah, right; you don't even know the first thing about training Pokemon." said Eddy.
"You don't even have Pokemon, you fathead!" said Sarah.
"Then I'll borrow some from pipsqueak here." said Eddy's brother, pointing at Eddy.
"Even if he did let you 'borrow' his Pokemon, they won't listen to you; he was the one who caught and trained them." said Edd.
"Then I guess I'll have to catch my own then." said Eddy's brother. Just then, they hear a rustling sound. They looked towards where the sound was coming from to see a Pokemon that looked like a Geodude, but it had a silvery body with strands of black hair on its head, black eyebrows and its fingers, except for its thumbs looked like they were fused together, coming out of tall grass.
"That looks like your Geodude before he evolved into Golem after he evolved into Graveler, Eddy; but this Geodude looks different." said Edd.
"That's an Alolan Geodude." said Maxiley. Edd pulls out the Rotom Dex and points it at the Geodude.
"Geodude, the Rock Pokemon. Geodude compete against each other with headbutts. The iron sand on their heads will stick to whichever one has stronger magnetism." said the Rotom Dex.
"You see; while other Geodudes are part rock, part ground, Alolan Geodudes are part rock, part electric type." said Maxiley.
"Intriguing." said Edd. Eddy's brother grabs Eddy by his shirt and pulls him off his Mudsdale and holds him close to his face.
"Okay, pipsqueak; how do I catch a Pokemon?" asked Eddy's brother. Edd reaches into his backpack and pulls out an empty pokeball and enlarges it.
"You have to throw a pokeball at it..." said Edd before Eddy's brother grabs the pokeball from Edd and throws it at the Geodude, hitting it, and sucking it in.
"Ha! Too easy." said Eddy's brother. The pokeball suddenly opens up and the Geodude comes out; it glares at Eddy's brother, making him hold Eddy in front of him; Eddy growls at his brother in response.
"After you weaken it by having a Pokemon battle it to make it easier to catch." Edd finished, pinching the bridge of his nose. Eddy's brother drops Eddy to the ground and picks up the pokeball he threw.
"Okay, pipsqueak; seeing how I don't have Pokemon to battle with, you battle that Pokemon for me!" exclaimed Eddy's brother.
"All right, all right! Sheesh!" said Eddy as he takes his Leafeon's pokeball out of his pocket and releases him from it. "Okay, Leafeon; use Magical Leaf!" Leafeon releases a bunch of glowing green leaves from his tail at the Geodude, hitting it, and doing super effective damage. The Geodude responds by throwing rocks at Leafeon, hitting him.
"That Geodude must know Rock Throw." said Edd.
"Leafeon, use Giga Drain!" said Eddy. Leafeon releases a large stream of green energy from his tail that wraps around the Geodude, draining it of stamina which is used to heal Leafeon's wounds. The Geodude then collapses to the ground from exhaustion.
"I do believe it's weak enough to capture now, Eddy's brother." said Edd.
"About time." Eddy's brother muttered as he takes the pokeball and throws it at the Geodude, hitting it, and sucking it in; this time the capture was successful.
"There! Happy now?" asked Eddy.
"Whatever." said Eddy's brother as he picks up the pokeball and pockets it.
"Now that you have a Pokemon; what are you gonna do now?" asked Eddy with a frown.
"I'm gonna do that Alola League thing." said Eddy's brother. "And once I win it, I'll be on easy street."
"Yeah, right." said Eddy. Edd looks up Eddy's brother's new Geodude on his Rotom Pokedex.
"This says your Geodude is a boy, he knows Tackle, Defense Curl, Charge, Rock Polish, Rollout, Spark, Smack Down, Thunder Punch, and Self-Destruct." said Edd; Ed winces when he hears Self-Destruct. "He has the Galvanize ability which not only make his normal moves stronger, they also become electric type ones." Eddy's brother just stares at Edd with confusion on his face.
"Maybe you should write this stuff down for him." said Eddy, wanting his brother to leave as soon as possible. Edd does so, plus adds some basic tips, including how Pokemon Centers have free rooms and food, which Eddy's brother seemed to be interested in.
"So what now?" asked Eddy's brother.
"To enter the Alola League, you'll need to pass all the island trials on all four islands." said Edd. He then explains to Eddy's brother everything he had to do.
"I'm sure I'll pick up a few pointers as I work my magic on the islands." said Eddy's brother.
"Whatever." said Eddy.
"I'll see you at the Alola League thing, pipsqueak." said Eddy's brother. "And when I beat you, I'll be rich and famous." He then turns and starts heading back towards Malie City, hurting his feet as he walks across the sharp rocks on the path.
"Shouldn't we have given him a lift?" asked Maxiley.
"Why? He's a complete jerk!" said Eddy.
"Is he that bad?" asked Maxiley.
"He's the worse!" said Eddy.
"Doesn't that fathead know he needs an Island Amulet to do the trials?" asked Sarah.
"And a Trainer's Passport?" asked Jimmy.
"Yeah, but I didn't feel like telling him." said Eddy with a grin.
"I also doubt he has any pokedollars to buy supplies he'll need." said Edd. "He'll probably do something he shouldn't."
"That sounds about right." said Eddy.
"So what now, you guys?" asked Ed.
"We forget about my bro for now and focus on our Island Challenge." said Eddy.
"Yeah, forget that fathead!" said Sarah.
"Onward!" said Eddy as the group continued riding towards their next destination.
Meanwhile on Route 11, Eddy's brother was sitting on a rock, rubbing his feet.
"Stupid rocks." said Eddy's brother. "Just you wait, pipsqueak; I'll show you who's the better trainer."
