Eevees Everywhere
The next morning, after everyone has breakfast, they all head off towards Floaroma Town. As they do, Lincoln was in deep thought.
"What's on your mind, Lincoln?" asked Clyde.
"I still can't get that photo off my mind." said Lincoln. "Why are me and my sisters in it? How and when did we get there?"
"Professor Rowan said he'd look through old Galaxy Team journals to try and see what he can find out about it." said Dawn.
"It's still pretty weird, dudes." said Luna.
"Not much we can do about it for now." said Sam. "Let's just focus on getting to Floaroma Town."
"Good idea." said Stella as she has holding Lincoln's hand while glaring at Dawn who was holding his other hand and glaring back at her.
The group continues their long walk to the site of Dawn and Stella's next Pokemon Contest. When they reach Jubilife, they take the time to restock on supplies.
"I can't wait to try to earn my first ribbon!" said Dawn with excitement.
"You'll have to go through me to do that." said Stella with a smirk; Dawn smirks right back at her.
"I'm also going to try and find more Pokemon to add to my team." said Dawn.
"I should do that also." said Dawn.
"Let's see what we can find around Floaroma Town once we get there." suggested Clyde.
"Good idea." said Lincoln. As the group turns towards the store entrance, they hear a lot of commotion coming from outside.
"What's going on?" asked Luna.
"I don't know, Luna." said Sam. "Let's check it out."
"We should be careful also." said Clyde. Everyone else nods in agreement. They all exit the store and to their surprise, they see another time distortion.
"What's that doing here?" asked Clyde. Lincoln thinks back for a few seconds before suddenly remembering something.
"We opened a portal here in Jubilife when I sent Machop to our universe." said Lincoln.
"Oh yeah." said Luna.
"Be ready for anything!" said Stella. Just then, a whole bunch of small brown foxlike Pokemon with thick collars of cream-colored fur around their necks; come leaping out of the time distortion.
"What are those?" asked Clyde. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at one of the Pokemon.
"Eevee, the Evolution Pokemon. It is a rare Pokémon that adapts to harsh environments by changing its appearance and capabilities when it evolves." said the pokedex.
"They're so cute!" said Dawn.
"I want one!" said Stella.
"I guess since we're looking to add to our teams and that they're here, we should each try catching one." suggested Lincoln.
"Good idea, buddy!" said Clyde. Everyone in the group goes off after an Eevee.
With Lincoln, he followed an Eevee to the Pokemon Center where one was looking around with anxiety.
"I think that it's confused by all the tall buildings here." Lincoln says to himself. Deciding to try to help calm the Eevee down, he opts to bring out his Hisuian Zorua because she's from the same time period as it. The Eevee notices her and walks over; the two sniff each other before talking. After a while, Zorua leads Eevee over to Lincoln who kneels down and holds out his hand.
"I'm not going to hurt you." said Lincoln. Eevee looks at Lincoln with some skepticism in its eyes, then sniffs his hand before licking it a little; Lincoln then scratches it behind its ears, making it look content. Lincoln uses his free hand to take an empty pokeball out of his pocket and taps the Eevee on the head with it, making it suck the Pokemon in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"That was easy." said Lincoln.
With Clyde, he had out his Psyduck who was facing another Eevee.
"Okay, Psyduck, use Zen Headbutt!" said Clyde. The top of Psyduck's head glows blue; she leaps towards the Eevee and rams her head against it, knocking it to the ground and making it flinch. "Now use Scratch!" Psyduck lands near Eevee and scratches it, knocking it back. Clyde takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Eevee, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around until it clicked. "Yeah! I caught an Eevee."
Stella and her Roselia were facing another Eevee.
"Roselia, use Poison Sting!" said Stella. Roselia fires multiple purple needles from her rose hands and they hit Eevee. It responds by charging at Roselia and ramming her, knocking her back. "That looked like Tackle; okay, Roselia, use Mega Drain!" Roselia releases a green beam of energy from one of her rose hands and it hits Eevee, draining its energy and healing Roselia's wound; Eevee collapses to the ground.
"I think it's weak enough now." said Stella as she takes out an empty pokeball. She throws the pokeball at Eevee and it hits it, sucking it in; after the pokeball wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating a successful capture. "I caught an Eevee!"
"Good job, Stella." said Lincoln. With Luna, she had her Hisuian Sneasel out; they were facing another Eevee.
"You ready for your first battle, little dudette?" asked Luna. Sneasel nods in response. "Okay, Sneasel, use Rock Smash!" Sneasel charges at Eevee and smashes her hand into it, dealing super effective damage and weakening its defense. Eevee charges at Sneasel and rams her, knocking her back. "Okay, Sneasel, Rock Smash once more!" Sneasel smashes her hand onto Eevee, dealing more damage to it than the previous Rock Smash due to Eevee's defense being weakened.
"Time to catch this little guy." said Luna as she takes out an empty pokeball; she throws it at Eevee and it hits it, sucking it in. After it wiggled around a few times, it clicks. "Yeah! I caught an Eevee!"
With Sam, she was near the Jubilife TV station where another Eevee was wandering around, looking at all the sights.
"Hey, little dude." said Sam, getting the Eevee's attention and making it get into a defensive stance. Seeing that it was ready for a fight, she tosses a pokeball, releasing her Onix.
"Onix, use Tackle!" said Sam. Her Onix lunges at the Eevee and rams it, knocking it back and down to the ground. Not wanting to hurt the Pokemon too much, Sam quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Eevee, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Yeah! Caught an Eevee!" said Sam.
With Dawn, she tailed another Eevee to the Jubilife Contest Hall where it was watching several coordinators practicing performances with their Pokemon with a look of interest that Dawn notices.
"I see you've taken an interest in Pokemon Contests." said Dawn, getting the Eevee's attention. Dawn then explains to the Eevee what Pokemon Contests were and what they involved, with the Eevee's interest increasing more as she gets more into the details.
"I'm an aspiring coordinator myself." Dawn tells the Pokemon. "If you want, you can join my team and we can be a team." Eevee thinks for a while before nodding. Smiling, Dawn takes out an empty pokeball and tosses it at the Eevee, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
Everyone then met back up at the center of the city just as the time distortion fades away.
"This time distortion stuff is getting out of hand." said Lincoln. "I should avoid making more portals unless it can't be helped, or at least open them far from cities and towns."
"That's a good idea." said Clyde.
"We should tell Professor Rowan about what just happened." said Dawn.
"Okay." said Lincoln as he and the others walk over to the Pokemon Center; when they reach it and enter the lobby, they head for the phone to call Professor Rowan and tell him what happened.
"I hope we can resolve this before it starts to cause serious damage." said Professor Rowan.
"Us, too." said Sam.
"Our Eevees are so cute!" said Stella as she cuddles hers.
"And Eevees have many different evolved forms; each one depends on certain conditions." said Professor Rowan.
"Cool!" said Lincoln.
"An Eevee will evolve into a fire type called Flareon when it comes in contact with an object called a Fire Stone; a water type called Vaporeon when it comes in contact with a Water Stone, an electric type called Jolteon when it comes in contact with a Thunder Stone, a psychic type called Espeon when the bond between it and the trainer is high during daylight hours while a dark type called Umbreon is the same way but at night, and a fairy type called Sylveon when the bond is high while knowing a fairy type move."
"Any other evolutions?" asked Clyde.
"Well, there's a moss-covered rock in Eterna Forest that gives off an energy that causes an Eevee to evolve into a grass type known as Leafeon, while somewhere near Snowpoint City is a rock that gives off an energy that will turn an Eevee into an ice type called Glaceon." said Professor Rowan.
"Thanks, Professor Rowan." said Lincoln before the call ends.
"So, what are our Eevees like?" asked Stella. Lincoln takes out his pokedex and starts pointing it at all the Eevees they caught.
"All our Eevees only know Tackle." said Lincoln. "Mine, Clyde, and Sam's Eevees are boys while Luna, Stella, and Dawn's Eevees are girls."
"Should we get going now?" asked Clyde.
"Sure." said Lincoln. Stella grabs Lincoln's hand, making him blush, while Dawn grabs the other one. They all exit the Pokemon Center and continue on towards Floaroma Town.
Meanwhile, somewhere outside Jubilife, another Eevee; a bit larger than a regular one and with glowing red eyes and battle scars was wandering around Route 4.
"What do we have here?" asked a voice from behind the Eevee, making it turn to see Paul looking at it; the Eevee growls in response. Paul points his pokedex at it to get a power reading and he was impressed by what he saw. "You're coming with me." He then takes out a pokeball.
"Elekid, stand by for battle." said Paul, throwing Elekid's pokeball and releasing it. "Elekid, use Thunder Punch!" Elekid charges at the Eevee while its fist was surrounded by electricity and punches Eevee with it, making it take a step back. The Eevee charges at Elekid and rams it, knocking it to the ground; the Eevee suddenly becomes surrounded by static and it twitches, due to Elekid's Static ability paralyzing it.
"Elekid, use Brick Break!" said Paul. Elekid gets up and charges at the Eevee; it smashes its arm into it, dealing super effective damage to it. The Eevee tries to charge at Elekid, but its paralysis stops it in its tracks. "Use Brick Break once more!" Elekid smashes its arm onto the Eevee, dealing super effective damage to it. The Eevee fights through its paralysis and charges at Elekid, ramming it, and knocking it to the ground; it struggles to get up.
"You better not lose!" exclaimed Paul. "Use Thunder Punch!" Elekid charges at the Eevee and punches it with an electricty coated fist; the Eevee collapses to the ground. Paul takes an empty pokeball and throws it at the Eevee, hitting it, and sucking it in. After it wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating its capture. Paul picks up the pokeball and looks at it; after putting it away and returning Elekid to its pokeball, he walks away to continue on his journey.
The group has captured more Pokemon from the past. What else will they encounter as their Sinnoh adventures continue?
