Thrifty Megamart Trial (Part Two)
Ed stood inside the Thrifty Megamart near the front entrance with the Rotom Dex in his hands, looking around. He walks around while holding out the Rotom Dex with the Poke Finder on. He suddenly sees some paranormal activity; he looks around, holding out the Poke Finder until he saw a Gastly. He takes its picture, getting its attention. Ed puts the Rotom Dex away and pulls out a pokeball.
"Go, Muk!" said Ed, throwing Muk's pokeball and releasing him. "Okay, Muk, use Crunch!" Muk leaps at Gastly and bites into it, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out. "Great job, Muk." Ed returns Muk to his pokeball and continues looking around.
A minute later, Ed sees a box floating around; he pulls out the Rotom Dex and turns on the Poke Finder. Through it, he sees a Haunter and uses the Poke Finder to take its picture, getting its attention. As it floats towards Ed, he pulls out Muk's pokeball and throws it, releasing him.
"Muk, use Screech!" said Ed. Muk lets out a loud cry and releases soundwaves onto Haunter, weakening its defense. Haunter forms a ball of black energy in its hands and launches it at Muk, hitting it, but not dealing much damage to him. "Now use Crunch!" Muk jumps at Haunter and bites it; dealing massive damage due to its defense being weakened by Screech and knocking it out. After returning Muk to his pokeball, he continues to look around the store.
He soon came across some paranormal activity; after looking through the Poke Finder, he sees a Gengar and takes its picture, making it turn towards Ed. He throws Muk's pokeball and releases him. Gengar flies at Muk and punches him, but not dealing much damage to him.
"Muk, Crunch!" said Ed. Muk jumps at Gengar and bites it, dealing super effective damage and weakening its defense. A black aura suddenly surrounds Gengar, and then Muk. "That looked like Cursed Body!" Gengar leaps at Muk while its right hand was surrounded by black energy and purple electricity and it punches the air, releasing a fist of energy that hits Muk. "Muk can't use Crunch, but he knows more moves. Use Knock Off!" One of Muk's hands becomes surrounded by black sparks and it slaps Gengar with it, knocking it out. Ed returns Muk to his pokeball and continues looking around the store.
He soon enters the back room and looks around at all the Pikachu drawings.
"These drawings are so neat." said Ed. He suddenly felt something nearby; he turns around and spots the Totem Mimikyu and takes its picture with the Poke Finder. The Totem Mimikyu was suddenly surrounded by an aura; Ed takes out a pokeball.
"Decidueye, go!" said Ed, throwing Decidueye's pokeball and releasing him. "Decidueye, use Leaf Blade!" Decidueye's right wing glows green and he leaps at the Totem Mimikyu and slashes it with his wing; The Totem Mimikyu's head tilts to its side. The Totem Mimikyu leaps at Decidueye while a claw made of black energy comes out from below it and it claws Decidueye, dealing super effective damage to it. "Use Spirit Shackle!" Decidueye fires an arrow quill surrounded by a shadowy aura at the Totem Mimikyu, dealing super effective damage to it. The Totem Mimikyu unleashes another shadowy claw at Decidueye and claws him, dealing super effective damage to it. Ed reaches into his pocket and pulls out the Decidium-Z Crystal; he puts it in his Z-Ring. He does the pose Professor Kukui showed him; energy comes out of Ed and onto Decidueye, making the Z-Power symbol appear on him.
"Decidueye, Sinister Arrow Raid!" said Ed. Decidueye spreads his wings and an arc of arrows surrounded by purple auras appear above him. He flies at the Totem Mimikyu with the arrows around him; he dives onto the Totem Mimikyu and the arrows hit it also; causing an explosion. Decidueye jumps out of the smoke caused by the explosion and lands on his feet. When the smoke from the explosion cleared, the Totem Mimikyu was lying on the ground, unconscious. "You did it, Decidueye!" Decidueye nods in response.
Later outside the Thrifty Megamart, Acerola looks at the photos Ed took.
"Excellent work, Ed." said Acerola. She gives Edd the Rotom Dex; she then pulls out a Ghostium-Z Crystal and holds it out towards Ed. "For passing the trial, I reward you with the Ghostium-Z." Ed takes the Ghostium-Z from Acerola.
"Thanks." said Ed. Acerola turns towards the others.
"Which of you will be facing my trial next?" asked Acerola.
"I believe I shall." replied Edd, stepping forward.
"Very well; when you're ready, you may enter." said Acerola.
"Thank you." said Edd. He steps into the Thrifty Megamart and begins his trial. When he sees his first sign of paranormal activity, he uses the Rotom Pokedex camera to spot the Gastly; he takes out his Stoutland's pokeball and throws it, releasing him.
"Stoutland, please use Crunch!" said Edd. Stoutland runs at the Gastly and bites down hard on it, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out. After that, he continues to search the store for the Titan Pokemon and soon sees another sign of paranormal activity; he uses the camera again to spot a Haunter this time and once again, he uses Stoutland.
"Stoutland, please use Crunch again!" said Edd. Stoutland runs over to the Haunter and does another hard bite on it, doing super effective damage. The Haunter responds by forming a ball of dark energy in its hands and launches it at Stoutland, but it goes right through him. "Stoutland was a perfect choice for this trial due to normal types being immune to ghost type moves; now please use Crunch one more time!" Stoutland runs at the Haunter and does one more bite on it, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
He then decides to return Stoutland to his pokeball and continues his trial. As he looks further in the back of the store, he sees another bit of paranormal activity and uses the camera again to spot a Gengar. Deciding to let Stoutland have a break, he lets out his Toucannon this time.
"Toucannon, please use Screech!" said Edd. Toucannon releases a high-pitched shriek that makes Gengar cover its ears and lowers its defense; it responds by trying to punch Toucannon with a gray transparent fist it launches from one of its own, but it goes right through him. "Now please use Drill Peck!" Toucannon flies at Gengar while spiralling and rams his beak right into the Gengar's chest, knocking it back a bit. Gengar responds by releasing beams of black, purple-tinted, energy from its eyes at Toucannon, but they go right through him. "Now please finish this with Pluck!" Toucannon flies at the Gengar and jabs it hard with his beak, knocking it out.
After that, Edd heads into the storage room and finds all the Pikachu drawings.
"Who drew these and why are they here?" asked Edd. A noise draws his attention, making him look around for the source, only to find nothing there. He then decides to take out the Rotom Pokedex and uses the camera to spot the Totem Mimikyu. He then lets out his Toucannon for this battle.
"Toucannon, please use Bullet Seed!" said Edd. Toucannon releases a barrage of seeds at Mimikyu, the first shot barely did anything but make the Totem Mimikyu's head tilt, but the other ones do some good damage. The Totem Mimikyu responds by running at Toucannon and slashes at him with his tail, knocking him back. "Toucannon, please use Pluck!" Toucannon flies at the Totem Mimikyu and jabs it with his beak; the Totem Mimikyu responds by moving slightly to the left, then disappears and reappears from the right and hits Toucannon with a fist that comes out from under its sheet. "Toucannon, please use Beak Blast!" Toucannon's beak starts to glow as it gathers energy; he then opens it, revealing a large orb of orange energy which releases a beam of energy at the Totem Mimikyu, hitting it, and causing a large enough explosion to knock it out.
"Success!" said Edd. He returns Toucannon to his pokeball and exits the Thrifty Megamart to report his success.
"Congratulations, Double-D." said Acerola. She pulls out a Ghostium-Z Crystal and hands it, along with some pokedollars, to Edd. "That Ghostium-Z Crystal is proof of your victory in passing my trial."
"Thank you." said Edd. Eddy then steps forward.
"Looks like I'm up now." said Eddy.
"Do it, Eddy!" said Ed. Eddy walks into the store to begin his trial. When he finds his first sign of paranormal activity, he uses the Rotom Pokedex to spot the Gastly and sends out his Noibat to battle it.
"Okay, pal; use Bite!" said Eddy. Noibat flies at the Gastly and bites down on it, doing super effective damage and making it flinch. "Finish this with Gust!" Noibat flaps her wings and releases a gust of wind that sends the Gastly flying through a wall.
He then returns Noibat to her pokeball and continues searching the store. When he spots more paranormal activity, he uses the Rotom Pokedex to spot the Haunter; this time he sends out his Vikavolt to do battle.
"Okay, pal; use Crunch!" said Eddy. Vikavolt flies at the Haunter and bites down hard on it with his mandibles, doing super effective damage. Haunter responds by launching a ball of dark energy at him, hitting him, and lowering his special defense. "Oh yeah?! Vikavolt, use Thunderbolt!" Vikavolt gathers electricity between his mandibles and releases it at the Haunter, hitting it, and knocking it out.
He then continues to explore the store until he finds more paranormal activity, making him use the Rotom Pokedex to spot the Gengar; he, once again, uses Vikavolt for this battle.
"Vikavolt, old pal; use Charge!" said Eddy. Vikavolt starts gathering energy into himself, increasing his special defense; Gengar releases streams of black, purple-tinted, energy from its eyes that hits him. "A tough guy, huh? Vikavolt, try using Zap Cannon!" Vikavolt gathers electricity and forms it into a throbbing ball of energy in front of his mandibles and launches it; fortuntately it hit the Gengar, and combined with the power-up from Charge, it was strong enough to knock it out.
Eddy makes his way to the back storage room and sees all the Pikachu drawings.
"Is there a ghost kid hanging out back here?" asked Eddy with fear. He suddenly feels a cold breeze against his neck, making him turn around. Not seeing anything, he decides to try the Rotom Pokedex and sees the Totem Mimikyu, chuckling at him.
"Oh, a funny guy, huh?" said Eddy as he takes out his Incineroar's pokeball and releases him from it. "Okay, let's show this comedian your Fire Fang!" Incineroar's fangs become coated in fire as he runs at the Totem Mimikyu and bites down on it, not seeming to do much of anything but make its head droop to the side; it responds by extending a dark shadowy arm from under its sheet and strikes Incineroar with it, not doing much damage. "Turn up the heat with Flamethrower!" Incineroar releases a large stream of fire from his belt that hits the Totem Mimikyu, doing damage. The Totem Mimikyu reacts by slashing at Incineroar with its tail.
"I think it's time to try out my new Incinium-Z Crystal!" said Eddy as he inserts it into his Z-Ring. He does the poses to activate it, making energy channel from him, into Incineroar, making the Z-Power symbol appear in front of him. "Now use Malicious Moonsault!" All of a sudden, a wrestling ring pops out of the ground below the Totem Mimikyu. Incineroar runs over to it, hops on the top turnbuckle, and leaps high into the air while coated in fire, he then comes crashing down, belly first, right onto the Totem Mimikyu, sending a shockwave through the storeroom, knocking down boxes, and also knocking the Totem Mimikyu out.
"Who's laughing now, huh?" asked Eddy with a smile. He then returns Incineroar to his pokeball and exits the store.
"Did you beat the Totem Pokemon, Eddy?" asked Maxiley.
"You know it." said Eddy with a smile.
"Congratulations, Eddy." said Acerola. She then reaches into a pocket and pulls out a Ghostium-Z Crystal. "You have earned this Z-Crystal, Eddy." She then hands it, along with some pokedollars, to Eddy.
"Sweet!" said Eddy as he accepts the items and puts them in his pocket.
"We did it, everyone!" said Edd.
"We passed the trial!" said Jimmy.
"We're one step closer to competing in the Alola League!" said Sarah.
"And now that you finished your trials, you can now catch Pokemon in the Thrifty Megamart."
"Oh boy!" replied Ed.
The Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy, have successfully passed the Thrifty Megastore trial and earned Ghostium-Z Crystals. What will they do next as their Island Challenge continues?
Meanwhile in Iki Town, a young boy was walking down a path while looking at an Island Amulet, Trainer's Passport, and a Rotom Dex he was holding; Eddy's brother was hiding behind some bushes, looking at the boy with a sinister grin on his face. Unbeknownst to him, a Grubbin was approaching him from behind; it smirks, then it jumps at Eddy's brother and clamps its mandibles onto his butt, causing him to scream which startles the boy and made him turn towards Eddy's brother; the boy stumbles and falls onto the ground, dropping his Island Amulet, Trainer's Passport, and Rotom Dex. Eddy's brother pulls the Grubbin off him and tosses it aside; he then runs over and grabs the boy's Island Amulet, Trainer's Passport, and Rotom Dex.
"Hey; those are mine!" exclaimed the boy.
"Not anymore, twerp." replied Eddy's brother; he turns and runs away.
