A New Mission
The Loud siblings, Lincoln's Pokemon, Akari, and Rei; follow Captain Cyllene to her office where they see Professor Laventon inside waiting for them.
"Before we get started on discussing your mission; let me see the pokedex to see how much knowledge you've put into it." said Captain Cyllene.
"Of course." said Lisa as she hands over the tome to Captain Cyllene who looks it over with an impressed look growing on her face.
"This is remarkable progress, Loud siblings." said Captain Cyllene. "I believe you all have earned an increase in rank."
"Yes!" said Lincoln as he and his sisters cheered in response to the news.
"Professor Laventon, the briefing if you please." said Captain Cyllene.
"Yes, let's get right to it, Loud siblings." said Professor Laventon. "I understand that you all have been requested to find out the cause of Kleavor's frenzied state."
"That is correct, Professor." said Lisa.
"But as you all are aware by now, Kleavor is a mighty thing. Nigh invincible, even!" said Professor Laventon.
"Whoa." said Lincoln.
"The Security Corps tried throwing pokeballs at Kleavor when they were attacked, but I'm afraid they didn't even come close to catching him!" said Professor Laventon.
"Kleavor sounds tough!" said Lynn.
"It seems he's a far trickier opponent than even those aggressive species of Pokemon that cannot be caught outside of battle once they're riled." said Professor Laventon.
"I'd like to be perfectly clear on this point." said Captain Cyllene. "This mission will put you in extreme danger. Do you believe we can handle it?"
"Bring Kleavor on!" said Lynn.
"We should be well-prepared in the event that he's too powerful for us to handle with the current levels our Pokemon are at right now." said Lisa.
"We should also learn what type of Pokemon that Kleavor is so we know what Pokemon we should use against him." suggested Lori.
"I concur." said Lisa.
"Very well. Then let us go over the particulars." said Captain Cyllene. "The Diamond and Pearl Clans revere their nobles because they believe these Pokemon serve their 'almighty Sinnoh'. They leave offerings to express gratitude to these Pokemon in locations they call the nobles' seats."
"You mean like thrones?" asked Lola.
"So perhaps a good starting point for our research could be to find out what sort of offerings they normally leave for this Kleavor." said Professor Laventon. Suddenly, the doors burst open and Mai and Adaman run into the office.
"Loud siblings, we need to speak with you!" said Mai. Leni and Adaman look at each other, smiling.
"Listen, that rift in space-time seems like it connects this world to a whole other world." said Adaman. "That world might be where almighty Sinnoh itself resides, the true almighty Sinnoh, that is. The one that rules over time." He walks to the Loud siblings. "Don't just study Kleavor, quell his frenzy!"
"We'll do it; it'll make the area safer." said Lincoln.
"Well, you certainly caught us at a good time, young Adaman." said Professor Laventon. "We were just discussing our next steps with regard of this whole Kleavor situation."
"Oho! You must be that Galaxy Team scholar I've heard about; Good to meet you, Mr. Professor." said Adaman. "Share some of that knowledge with me sometime." Adaman turned back towards the Loud siblings. "Now, let me elaborate a little; those Pearl Clan types have a lot of respect for Kleavor. You heard his title, the Lord of the Woods."
"We have." replied Lincoln.
"I'm sure they rather get this under control too, but it's hard for them to come out and ask those of the Galaxy Team, of all people, for help." said Adaman. "And the truth is, we in the Diamond Clan have a similar problem on our hands."
"What is it?" asked Leni.
"A Pokemon dear to us, off in the mountains, has flown into the same type of frenzy as Kleavor." said Adaman. "Now, there's certainly bad blood between us and the Pearl Clan, but still, we've all got to share Hisui, and that means we ought to tackle our problems together."
"You know, something about that 'tackle' word sounds familiar to me." said Lynn. Mai walks to the Loud siblings.
"But there aren't many capable of standing up to such powerful Pokemon." said Mai. "You're the best hope we've got."
"We'll do what we can." said Lincoln.
"You'll find Kleavor at Grandtree Arena; that's in the very heart of Heartwood." said Mai.
"Where's that?" asked Luna.
"It's at the southernmost part of the Obsidian Fieldlands." said Mai. "Lord Kleavor's warden is a boy named Lian. He's a brilliant child but also a bit, well, sometimes, brilliance can be blinding, you know. He'll tell you all about his beloved Kleavor, whether you wish him to or not."
"Anyway, I'm sure you're up to the challenge, so, we'll be counting on you." said Adaman. "See you later." He turns and leaves, but not before smiling at Leni and winking at her, making her blush.
"He certainly left quickly once he'd finished talking." said Professor Laventon. "I suppose he really values his time."
"I'm guessing as a clan leader he has lots of duties to attend to." said Rei.
"And Adaman and Mai weren't wrong." said Professor Laventon. "If you're to study and perhaps even quell Kleavor, you'd best start by visiting his abode."
"Okay, Professor." said Lucy from behind Professor Laventon, startling him.
"How do you keep doing that?" asked Professor Laventon, making Lucy shrug in response.
"Our new Heights Camp would be a handy place for setting out towards Grandtree Arena." said Akari.
"A fine idea, Akari." said Professor Laventon.
"We had a long day today, so we'll set out tomorrow." said Lori.
"Very well." said Captain Cyllene.
As the Loud siblings start heading back to their abodes to rest up for their mission; somewhere near the border between the Obsidian Fieldlands and Crimson Mirelands; the Miss Fortune Bandits were setting up a campsite.
"We'll continue on in the morning." said Charm as she and her sisters sit around their campfire.
"I hope we find those Loud siblings and take their pokedex." said Coin.
"I hope I find my future husband." said Clover.
"Again with that Lincoln boy?" asked Coin.
"Let's just focus on the pokedex, then you can concentrate on your love life." said Charm.
"Fine." said Clover with a pout. The Miss Fortune Bandits get into their makeshift tents just as the Loud siblings and Lincoln's Pokemon settle down for the night.
"Night, everyone." said Lincoln
"Night, Lincoln." said the sisters he was sharing the house he was in with along with his Pokemon.
"Don't dream about Clover or Irida too much." said Luan in a teasing manner, making Lincoln blush.
"V-Very funny, Luan." said Lincoln, making his sisters and Pokemon chuckle.
"Come on, guys." said Lori. "We can worry about Lincoln's love life tomorrow."
"Let's just get to sleep." said Lincoln as he covers his face with his blanket.
While his sisters and Pokemon slept, Lincoln looks up at the ceiling deep in thought.
'I wonder how strong that Kleavor really is?' Lincoln asked himself. 'Will my Pokemon and my sisters' be able to take it on? What made it go into a frenzy? I hope we can figure that out and solve this problem.'
Lincoln then closes his eyes and falls asleep.
Meanwhile at the Miss Fortune Bandits' campsite, Clover was looking up towards the roof of her tent with thoughts about a certain white-haired Survey Corps member going through her mind.
'Lincoln, I'll be seeing you soon.' Clover thought to herself before blowing out the flame of her lantern and going to sleep.
Looks like the Miss Fortune Bandits are coming to try to steal the pokedex. Will the Loud siblings be able to stop them? Wait and find out.
