Team Star Segin Squad
Lincoln and Clyde walk through West Province Area One towards the first Team Star base, while Lincoln spends some time training his new Rockuff. During the training, he learned Rock Throw and Howl.
As they explored a canyon area, Lincoln spots a small disc-like object lying on the ground.
"What's this?" asked Lincoln as he picks it up.
"That's a Technical Machine; or TM for short." said Clyde.
"Oh, yeah." said Lincoln. "I have to put it in my Rotom Phone to use it, right?"
"That's correct, buddy." said Clyde. Lincoln puts the TM in his Rotom Phone and sees that it had the move, Dig, in it.
"I think I'll teach this to Rockruff." said Lincoln. He points his Rotom Phone towards Rockruff and a beam of light comes out and lands on his head; a few seconds later, Rockruff's eyes light up, and he nods.
As Clyde looks around the area, he sees a Tera Den nearby.
"Hey, a Tera Den; let's check it out." said Clyde. Lincoln returns Rockruff to his pokeball and they walked over to the Tera Den. Once inside, Clyde sees a crystalized dark and light brown, lion cublike Pokemon with a tuft of orange hair on its head as well as a candelabra. He takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Litleo, the Lion Cub Pokemon. When Litleo are young, female Pyroar will teach them how to hunt. Once the Litleo mature, they will leave the pride and set out on their own." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
"I think I'll catch this one." said Clyde. He looks at the candelabra on top of it. "I'm pretty sure its Tera Form's a fire type." He takes a pokeball out of his pocket. "Quaxwell, go!" He throws Quaxwell's pokeball and releases him.
"You too, Rockruff!" said Lincoln, throwing Rockruff's pokeball and releasing him.
"Quaxwell, Aqua Jet!" said Clyde. Quaxwell becomes surrounded by water and flies at Litleo; he rams into it and deals super effective damage to it.
"Rockruff, Rock Throw!" said Lincoln. Rockruff unleashes rocks from his tail, and they hit Liteo, dealing super effective damage to it. Litleo runs at Rockruff and rams him with its head, but not doing much damage to it, but making him flinch. "That looked like Headbutt; good thing normal type moves don't have much effect on rock type Pokemon."
"Good thing this next move will on Litleo." said Clyde. "Water Pulse, Quaxwell!" Quaxwell forms a ball of water between his hands, and he launches it at Litleo, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage. Litleo's Tera Form shatters and it collapses. Clyde takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Litleo, hitting it and sucking it in; after it wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating a successful capture. "Yes! Litleo is mine!"
"Great job, buddy." said Lincoln. Litleo's pokeball is transported to storage; the Tera Den vanishes, and they found themselves back on West Province Area One. After Clyde picks up the berries and pearls that the Tera Den left behind, he uses his Rotom Phone to look up Litleo's information.
"Okay, this says Litleo's a boy, he knows Tackle, Leer, Ember, Work Up, and Headbutt." said Clyde. "He has the Rivalry ability which makes his moves do more damage to Pokemon that are the same gender as his, but less damage to Pokemon that are the opposite gender." Clyde uses his Rotom Phone to exchange his Skiploom for his Litleo.
Clyde also takes some time to train his Litelo and he learned Noble Roar. After that, they continue walking until they were almost to the Team Star base. All of a sudden, Clyde's Rotom Phone flies out of his pocket and hovers in front of him.
"Hello, Clyde." said Cassiopeia.
"Oh; hi, Cassiopeia." said Clyde.
"I see that you're almost to Team Star's Dark Squad Base." said Cassiopeia.
"Yeah." said Clyde. "So how do I go about taking down this squad?"
"You'll need to challenge them to a Star Barrage." said Cassiopeia.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln.
"It's where you have to take on all the Team Star members in the base all at once." explained Cassiopeia.
"That sounds like a lot." said Clyde.
"I'll help you out, Clyde." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, buddy; it sounds like I'll need it." said Clyde.
"So, to continue; you'll have to defeat enough trainers to force their leader out, then you have to defeat him in a Pokemon battle." said Cassiopeia.
"I'll be the one to take on the leader." said Clyde.
"Once you take down the leader, the rest of the squad should crumble with him." said Cassiopeia.
"What's the squad here like?" asked Clyde.
"The Team Star squad at the base you're both heading for uses mainly dark type Pokemon." said Cassiopeia.
"So, bug, fighting, and fairy type moves would be recommended?" asked Clyde.
"Yes, and be sure to take into consideration that some will use dual-type Pokemon as well." said Cassiopeia.
"Will do." said Clyde.
"Just...be careful, Clyde." said Cassiopeia. "You too, Lincoln." After that, Clyde's Rotom Phone goes back into his pocket.
"So, what are you going to use?" asked Lincoln.
"I might use Quaxwell because he knows a fighting type move, probably Fidough, and Kirlia." said Clyde.
"I'll use Pawmo because she knows a fighting type move, Tinkatink, and maybe I'll use Rockruff." said Lincoln.
"Let's go, then." said Clyde as he and Lincoln start walking down a path that leads to the Team Star base. They soon reach an area that's blocked off by a wall that had a sliding door built into it; plus, two academy students that looked dressed up like the first two Team Star members that Lincoln battled against over a month ago.
"That must be the place." said Lincoln.
"Let's do this." said Clyde. The two continue to walk towards the base until the two Team Star members notice them approaching.
"Hey! What are you runts doing here?" asked a male Team Star member.
"We want to challenge your leader." said Clyde. This made the Team Star members laugh.
"You must be a comedian!" said a female Team Star member as she continued to laugh.
"What makes you think we'd just let you two geeks in here?" asked the male Team Star member.
"Then we'll just have to battle our way in." said Clyde.
"Well, if that's what it takes to get you two to realize you're in over your heads, then I'll be glad to teach you a lesson!" said the female Team Star member as she takes a pokeball out of her pocket and throws it, releasing a navy blue, birdlike Pokemon that looked like it had a hat brim around its head.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln as he takes out his Rotom Phone and points it towards the Pokemon.
"Murkrow, the Darkness Pokemon. Feared and loathed by many, it is believed to bring misfortune to all those who see it at night." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"I'll handle this one, Lincoln." said Clyde as he steps forward and takes a pokeball out of his pocket; he throws it, releasing his Fidough.
"Show her a thing or two, buddy!" said Lincoln.
"Murkrow, use Wing Attack!" said the female Team Star member. The Murkrow flies at Fidough and strikes her with its wing.
"Fidough, use Play Rough!" said Clyde. Fidough leaps at the Murkrow and wrestles around with it ferociously, then knocks it back to its trainer's feet, unconscious.
"No way!" said the female Team Star member.
"Way to go, Fidough!" said Clyde. Fidough runs over to Clyde, and he rubs her head. The Team Star member growls as she returns her Murkrow to its pokeball.
"How could I lose to a runt?" asked the female Team Star member.
"We should give the others a heads-up about these two." said the male Team Star member.
"Good idea." said the Team Star member as she tosses some pokedollars to Clyde and runs into the base with her teammate.
"That wasn't too tough." said Clyde as he picks up the pokedollars the Team Star threw.
"Yeah, but we'll be taking on a lot of members in there." said Lincoln.
"Then let's not keep them waiting." said Clyde as he runs into the base with Lincoln following after him.
Once they get inside, they hear an announcement over a PA system.
"Heads up, gang! A couple of kids just came in who think they can take us down." said the announcer. "Let's show them what happens when they get into our business!"
The two watch as a lot of Team Star members come out from tents and toss pokeballs, releasing a large variety of Pokemon; such as Zoruas, Houndours, Stunkies, Pawniards, Murkrows, and Sneasels.
"Let's get them!" said a Team Star member, making the Team Star's Pokemon charge forward.
"You ready, buddy?" asked Clyde with determination on his face.
"Do you really have to ask?" replied Lincoln with a look of equal determination on his face as he and Clyde releases thier chosen Pokemon.
"Kirlia, use Draining Kiss on the Zoruas, Murkrows, and Sneasels; Quaxwell, use Low Sweep on the Pawniards and Aqua Jet on the Houndours; Fidough, use Play Rough on the Zoruas, Murkrows, and Sneasels!" said Clyde.
"Pawmo, use Arm Thrust on the Zoruas, Pawniards, and Sneasels; Rockruff, use Dig on the Stunkies, Houndours, and Pawniards; and Tinkatink, use Metal Claw on the Stunkies, and Fairy Wind on the Murkrows!" said Lincoln.
The boys' Pokemon followed their respective trainers' orders and went to work on the Team Star's Pokemon; managing to take them down left and right. Five minutes later, Team Star was running very low on Pokemon.
"These kids are tough!" said a Team Star member.
"What do we do?" asked another Team Star member.
"We need Giacomo for these two!" said another Team Star member who runs off towards a very large tent and goes into it. A minute later, the sound of a large engine suddenly appears.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln. He got his answer when the large tent opened up, and a very large vehicle with an engine that's emitting fiery clouds of exhaust, along with a lot of lights, some loudspeakers, and a small stage that had a male with black hair, wearing a white cap with multiple video-related symbols on it, white and black headphones, black jacket and pants, a yellow vest under his jacket, and white, red, and green shoes.
"What do you little punks think you're doing crashing our party?" asked the male.
"Are you the leader here?" asked Clyde.
"Yeah, the name's Giacomo!" said the male now known as Giacomo.
"We're here to take you down!" said Clyde.
"I'll admit you two have some skill to take down a lot of my crew's Pokemon." said Giacomo. "But don't think you can beat me!"
"Lincoln; I got this." said Clyde as he steps forward.
"Do it, Clyde!" said Lincoln as he steps back to give his friend some space. Clyde and Giacomo each pull out a pokeball.
"Pawniard, go!" said Giacomo, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Pawniard.
"Let's go, Litleo!" said Clyde, throwing Litleo's pokeball and releasing him. "Okay, Litleo, Noble Roar!" Litleo lets out a roar that releases soundwaves onto Pawniard, weakening its strength.
"Pawniard, Snarl!" said Giacomo. Pawniard crosses his arm blades together and spreads them apart, releasing a purple ball of energy at Litleo, hitting him.
"Litleo, Ember!" said Clyde. Litleo unleashed glowing orange embers from his mouth, and they hit Pawniard, dealing a lot of super effective damage. "Hey; is your Pawniard a boy by any chance?"
"So, what if he is?" asked Giacomo.
"Litleo's Rivalry ability makes it that attacks done to an opposing Pokemon that's the same gender as his does more damage." said Clyde. Fire suddenly surrounds Pawniard's body.
"Looks like Pawniard's burned, buddy." said Lincoln.
"So now his attack strength is even weaker now and he'll lose stamina." said Clyde.
"It'll take more than that to take me down!" said Giacomo. "Pawniard, Aerial Ace!" Pawniard leaps towards Litleo while white streaks of light surround him and he rams into Litleo, knocking him back. Pawniard winces in pain from his burn and he loses stamina.
"Ember one more time!" said Clyde. Litleo unleashes more embers from his mouth, and they hit Pawniard, dealing super effective damage to him, and knocking him out.
"What?!" exclaimed Giacomo.
"Way to go, Clyde." said Lincoln.
"Great job, Litleo." said Clyde. Giacomo returns Pawniard to his pokeball.
"It's not over yet, kid!" said Giacomo. The vehicle he was on suddenly begins to shake.
"What's going on?" asked Clyde. He then notices the engine of the vehicle looked like it had an eye. He takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the engine.
"Revavroom, the Mulit-Cyl Pokemon, and the evolved form of Varoom. It creates a gas out of poison and minerals from rocks. It then detonates the gas in its cylinders- now numbering eight-to generate energy." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
"That engine's a Pokemon?" asked Clyde.
"Yeah; it doesn't mind being treated as an engine." said Giacomo. "Okay, Revavroom, Metal Sound!" Revavroom glows light blue and releases silvery soundwaves onto Litleo, weakening his special defense.
"Litleo, Ember!" said Clyde. Litleo unleashes embers from his mouth, and they hit Revavroom.
"Revavroom, Wicked Torque!" said Giacomo. The entire Starmobile was surrounded by black energy, and it rams into Litleo, knocking him out.
"Litleo, no!" said Clyde.
"Don't give up, Clyde." said Lincoln. Clyde returns Litleo to his pokeball.
"You did great, Litleo." said Clyde. He puts Litleo's pokeball away.
"What are you going to do now, runt?" asked Giacomo. Clyde responds by pulling another pokeball out of his pocket.
"Quaxwell, go!" said Clyde, throwing Quaxwell's pokeball and releasing him. "Okay, Quaxwell, Work Up!" Quaxwell becomes surrounded by a red aura and his strength increases.
"Revavroom, Wicked Torque!" said Giacomo. Revavroom rams into Quaxwell, knocking him back.
"Low Sweep!" said Clyde. Quaxwell leaps at Revavroom and kicks it, dealing super effective damage to it and lowering its speed. "Now use Water Pulse!" Quaxwell unleashes a blue ball of water from his hands, and it hits Revavroom; it begins to teeter. "Looks like Revavroom's confused."
"Revavroom, Gyro Ball!" said Giacomo. Revavroom jumps off the Starmobile and spins in the air, but it crashes onto the ground, hurting itself.
"Low Sweep!" said Clyde. Quaxwell runs to Revavroom while it was still out of the Starmobile and kicks it, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"No way!" exclaimed Giacomo.
"Way to go, Quaxwell!" said Clyde.
"Great job, Clyde." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, buddy." said Clyde. Giacomo drops down on his knees.
"I guess that's that." said Giacomo. He then tells Clyde and Lincoln about his past almost two years ago he and the rest of the leaders of Team Star started to make some rules for their gang; he also revealed how he used to be a student council president of his academy and that everyone started disliking him after that because of the strict rules he made everyone follow a lot like 'male students' hair must not be further than 1.8 inches below the nape, but Giacomo always looked out for his fellow Team Star members and knew what was best for them.
"But my boss days are over; you beat me fair and square." said Giacomo. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a badge that had a black symbol that looked like an eye. They also took a picture of Clyde and Giacomo shaking hands. "Your Pokemon are strong, kid."
"Thanks, Giacomo." said Clyde.
"You know, Giacomo; I'm sure people would like you again if you just toned down the rules a bit." said Lincoln.
"I guess." said Giacomo. He looks around the base. "I guess I better work on taking this base down; it's blocking the path to Cascarrafa anyway."
"I think there's a gym there." said Lincoln. "But don't worry; I'll just go to another gym in the meantime."
Soon after, Lincoln and Clyde exited the base. Clyde's Rotom Phone suddenly comes out of his pocket.
"Congratulations on taking down the Dark Crew you two." said Cassiopeia.
"Glad to help out." said Clyde.
"I will transfer funds into both of your accounts, and I will send someone over to give you materials to make more TMs with." said Cassiopeia. After Lincoln and Clyde suddenly got notifications on their Rotom Phones about their funds being received, Cassiopeia ends the call and their Rotom Phones returned to their pockets. A minute later, Penny walks over to them.
"Hey, Penny." said Clyde.
"Hello, Clyde." replied Penny with a small blush.
"Did Cassiopeia send you?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes; she sent me with some TM materials and some blueprints for new kinds of them if you want to use them." said Penny. After she gives them to Lincoln and Clyde, she takes a quick look at Clyde before running off.
"So, what now, buddy?" asked Clyde.
"I think it's getting close to dinnertime." said Lincoln. "Let's eat and figure out what to do next."
"Okay, Lincoln." replied Clyde.
The Team Star Dark Crew has been defeated; what else awaits Lincoln and Clyde as their Treasure Hunt assignment continues?
