Angel: Shout out to MHA Deku Fanfics making a Part 2 of his audiobook on Youtube for the story, thanks for the promotion, dude. If you guys are interested, the video is called What if Deku had a twin sister Part 2.
And I won't address this now because I haven't gotten that much backlash for it, but for those who do not like Katsuki's interactions with Izuka at all, you will most likely not like this chapter. And no, I will not atone for the sins the haters think I've done, okay bai love ya for reading anyways.
A bunch of reporters were heading to the entrance of UA. Izuku gave a nervous expression while Izuka hid behind him, trembling. "Hey, you!" A female reporter shoved a microphone in his face. Another one did the same to his sister and she yelped, stepping back in alarm. "Can you two tell us what it's like to work so closely with All Might? Wait a minute, I know you, you're that girl that tried to stop the sludge villain!"
"U-Um," He stammered while waving his hands rapidly, Izuka slowly inching away from a camera on her. "Sorry, we have to go to the, uh, the nurse's office! Yeah, right away! My sister's, uh...coming down with something, right?" He glanced at her pleadingly to help him. Izuka blinked and then let out a few fake sickly coughs. "Oh yeah, it's really bad, bye!" He took her hand and ran off, to her relief.
"Are you one of All Might's students? Tell us—what's the Symbol of Peace like in person?" The same reporter asked Ochaco, who flinched a bit.
"Um...what's he like? Well...uh, he's super muscle-y. Yeah!" She told them while holding up her arms to mimic the hero a little.
"How is he faring as a teacher; what are you learning?"
"His leadership and wisdom remind me on a daily basis that I attend the world's most prestigious educational institution," Tenya responded to the reporter. "Of course, he's the personification of honor and integrity that one would expect, but he's also not afraid to show his students a more humorous side," The reporters and crew looked to be getting a little tired already listening to him. "It's truly a unique opportunity to be under the direct tutelage of the pro we all admire."
"Excuse me, kid!" The female reporter trailed after someone. "Are you in All Might's class? Oh, hold on," She recognized Katsuki, who wasn't even looking towards her. "Aren't you that Sludge Villain kid? The one that got rescued by that small puppy girl?"
He came to a stop, gritting his teeth at the mention of Izuka. "Walk away," He warned the crowd.
"Please, sir," The reporter brought the mic forward to someone else. "Can you get All Might for us?" People were inching away from Mr. Aizawa. "Also, you look like a mess, what's your deal?"
"All Might's not on campus today," He told them with a blank look. "Now get outta here, you've disturbed my students enough already," He waved the crowd off and then walked away. The reporter gasped at this.
"But my viewers wanna know how he's adjusting to life as a teacher!" The reporter called out to him.
"I feel like I've seen that guy somewhere before. But where?"
"I don't know, but he's a bit scruffy for a hero..." The female reporter commented in thought.
How does All Might ever get anything done with this media circus stepping on his cape? The teacher wondered to himself, the female reporter looking a bit frustrated.
"Alright. If you won't bring All Might out, I'll-" She stormed forward, one of the cameramen holding out a hand to stop her.
"No, hold on!"
Before he could warn her, a warning light went off, and suddenly barriers came up, to the shock of the woman. The crowd was entirely blocked off from the entrance, and she let out a screech. "Hey! What's happening?"
"Don't you know about the school's defenses?" The cameraman asked from behind. "This gate is the UA Barrier."
"Defenses?" She glanced back in a bit of anger. "It practically killed me!"
"Yeah, well, it's designed to stop anyone who doesn't have a student ID or special pass from entering the campus," He pointed up to the sensor lights. "Guess it works." She then grunted in annoyance. "Apparently, there are security sensors like this all over the place."
"Keeping the public out. This school thinks it's untouchable!" The female reporter grunted in irritation, turning to the cameraman with her hands on her hips. "The least they could do is grant me one interview."
"I know, right? We've been here for 2 days and I don't have a single comment on the record yet."
The news that All Might had been hired as a faculty member at UA took the entire nation by surprise.
Being the number-one hero, it does make sense, and it is a big change in his life no one was expecting.
Naturally, the media swarmed the school in search of a story. Everyone wanted to get their hands on All Might. Yeah. Everyone.
Thankfully, the school was built with precautions like this in mind, it did start the career of many pro heroes. They all just wanted to know anything they could about All Might, who kept his private life in the dark.
A man with blue hair and wearing black stood across the street from the reporters. No one noticed him either, as he had his sights on the school...
"Decent work on everyone's combat training, you guys," Mr. Aizawa told the class once they were settled in. "I saw the video feeds and went over each of your team's results. Bakugo," He turned to the blond first, who gave a small sneer. "You're talented. So don't sulk like a child about your loss, okay?" Katsuki gritted his teeth a bit and looked away.
"Yeah, whatever," He responded simply, Izuku staring at him.
"And Midoriya, Mido—oh, All Might told the staff about the nickname, so I'm sticking with it." Izuku flinched, expecting another scolding like the first day of school. Izuka looked anxious as well, her head facing her desk. "I see the only way you two won the match was by messing up your arm again and using a reckless shot," Izuku sweat-dropped while Izuka bit her lip. "Work harder. And don't give me the excuses that you don't have control over your Quirk or that you haven't used it growing up. Those lines are already getting old." Izuku gritted his teeth a little as Izuka closed her eyes. "You can't keep breaking your body or firing something with no control while training here. But both of your Quirks will be really useful if you can get a handle on them."
Izuku looked up with a small gasp from the praise. Izuka looked up at the teacher wide-eyed, since he had never complimented either of them before. "So show a little urgency, huh? And stop hiding in class, Mido."
"Right!" Izuku agreed eagerly while Izuka nodded slowly.
"T-thank you, sir..." She stammered, thankful that it wasn't worse criticism than the first time...
"Let's get down to business," Mr. Aizawa focused on the rest of the class. "Our first task will decide your future." All of them were high on alert after he said that.
Is it another Quirk test?
"You all need to pick a class representative," He explained and everyone suddenly relaxed.
Oh, good. Just normal school stuff!
Eijiro waved his hands eagerly. "Pick me, guys! I wanna be class rep!" He shouted with a big smile.
"I'll take it," Denki raised his hand.
"Yeah, you're gonna need me," Kyoka raised her hand higher nearby.
"Someone with style would be best," Yuga gestured to himself. Mina stepped in front of him, waving her hands.
"I'm, like, totally the right pick!"
Minoru waved his hands behind Izuku, alarming him. Izuka just gave an awkward look; she definitely did NOT wanna get picked...
In a normal classroom, a representative's duties would just be a bunch of extra work. He then turned to Katsuki raising his hand, shouting why it should be him. But here in the hero course, there's more to it. It's a way to get noticed by agencies and prove you can lead a team like a real pro.
That's why in UA, everyone would be gunning for the spot. Well...mostly everyone. Vice rep is almost just as important as well. Izuka glanced over to Tenya and Momo. There are plenty of opportunities to be noticed too, but they're positions that aren't taken lightly.
Izuku gave a small smile while raising his hand as well. "Silence, everyone, please!" Tenya shouted to calm everyone down. They all turned to him silently. "The class representative's duty is to lead others. That's not something just anyone can do. You must first have the trust of every student in the classroom. Therefore, the most logical way to fill this position is democratically. We will hold an election to choose our leader!" He held up a shaking hand.
"It's pretty obvious you want us to vote for you," Almost everyone said in unison.
"Is this really the best idea?" Denki couldn't help but wonder.
"We've only known each other a few days," Tsuyu placed a finger on her cheek. "How do we know who we can trust?"
"Besides, everyone'll just vote for themselves," Eijiro pointed out next.
"Most people will," Tenya acknowledged this fact. "But that means whoever does receive multiple votes must truly be the most suitable person for the job," He then turned to Mr. Aizawa using his sleeping bag. "It's the best way, right sir?"
"Do what you want, just decide before my nap's over," He replied nonchalantly, falling to the side.
"Thank you for your trust!" Tenya didn't seem too bothered by this; maybe he was just used to Mr. Aizawa's behavior by this point. Izuka and Izuku both blinked at Tenya, glancing to each other.
And so, they held the election, with the one winning being...Izuku himself with 4. And Momo had gotten 3, putting her in second. Izuka had managed to get 2. "How did I get four votes?!" Izuku screeched in shock.
Katsuki stood up with white eyes, gritting his teeth. "Okay, you idiots, who voted for him?" He demanded to the class.
"What, did you honestly think anyone was gonna vote for you?" Hanta asked him in a bit of disbelief; it was kinda hard to root for someone who could've killed a classmate, after all...
"What did you just say?!" Katsuki shouted at him. Ochaco looked away while whistling innocently. Izuka hid her face into her sketchbook while drawing.
Maybe I'll just keep my vote to myself The two girls thought in unison. Izuka blinked towards the board as she was surprised she got 2 at all. She figured one of them was Izuku, but the other one was a mystery to her.
Tenya in front of Ochaco was shaking in disappointment. "Zero votes..." He muttered, Tsuyu, Mina, and Rikido all staring at him. "I feared this might happen...but I can't argue with the system I chose!"
"So you voted for someone else, huh?" Momo wondered with a sweat drop.
"But you knew it was best to vote for yourself, right?" Rikido asked a bit awkwardly. "What were you tryin' to prove here, Ida?"
Shoto simply closed his eyes. Well, whatever the case may be, the results speak for themselves. Izuka turned back to the front, and Izuku was anxious as hell standing up there.
"Alright, the class rep is Midoriya, and our deputy is Yaoyorozu," Mr. Aizawa announced, the girl glancing at the boy next to her.
"Really? Uh, it's not a mistake?" Izuku questioned with shaking eyes.
Well, clearly you made an impression from yesterday's class... Izuka closed her eyes with an awkward smile; she really didn't know how else to break it to him...Momo looked away with a sigh.
"How'd this happen?" She wondered as everyone watched.
"This might not be so bad," Tsuyu commented at the two.
"Yeah, I can get behind Midoriya, I guess," Eijiro agreed with her.
Tenya was looking towards his desk, still reeling in his disappointment. "Yaoyorozu was totally on top of it when it came to our training results!" Denki piped up as he could see why Momo got multiple votes too.
Soon, it was lunch time and Ochaco sighed. "It's always so crowded in here! No wonder why Mido tends to eat elsewhere," She commented as it was getting packed by the minute.
"That's because students in the support, management, and hero courses all share the same cafeteria," Tenya explained to the brunette, who gasped sharply as Izuka was approaching the table, shaking. Izuku was guiding her. "Oh! Mido?" Tenya blinked as she came to a stop in front of the table. "What are you doing here?"
"My sister wanted to say hi to you guys," Izuku gave a small smile, gesturing to her. "And...also wondered would it be okay if she could eat with us. Things got...complicated with her usual spot," He rubbed the back of his neck. And by complicated, he meant that Katsuki might seek her out during lunch time, and she didn't need that. Though he hadn't really talked to her ever since his loss in combat class.
"H-H...hello," She stammered out and glanced away nervously. Izuka was trying really hard not to focus on anyone else. Ochaco gestured to a seat next to her.
"Of course she can!" The girl smiled as Tenya nodded.
"We don't mind at all."
"T-Thank...you." Izuka took her seat, and Ochaco had a bite of rice, humming happily from the taste. Izuku took his seat across from the two girls.
"This rice is delicious!"
Izuku sighed a little, looking at his bowl. "Guys, I'm kinda worried about the class rep thing. I don't think I'm qualified," He stated in worry, looking at his sister sitting between Tenya and Ochaco. She picked up her own bowl and ate quietly.
"Sure you are," Ochaco replied without hesitation.
"You'll be great," Tenya remarked, causing Izuku and Izuka to stare at him. "Your courage and quick thinking under stress will help make you a worthy leader. Not to mention the strength you and Mido have demonstrated. Those are the reasons I voted for you, at least."
"You were one of the four?" Izuku looked at him in shock.
"I-I...I was one of them too, I'll...admit," Izuka spoke up shyly and he blinked at her. He could see her calming down a little being with them and he smiled. He figured why she would vote for him: not because he was her brother, but because he was the one who inspired her to use her Quirk. And he was always very patient with her.
"Didn't you wanna be rep really badly?" Ochaco turned to Tenya. "I mean, you do look the part. Cause of the glasses!"
Izuku flinched while Izuka sweat-dropped. That's not exactly how we should be choosing our rep.
Tenya then put down his juice after sipping it. "Wanting a job and being suited to it are quite different things. Observing the Ida family's hero agency has taught me that much," He explained and Izuka blinked, turning to the other two curiously.
"Agency?" Izuku and Ochaco asked in unison.
"Hold on, what does your family do?" Izuku asked his friend.
He gave a nervous sound turning to them. "Uh...oh, it's nothing."
"You know, I've been wondering something about you," Ochaco stared at him, some rice on her cheek. "Admit it, Ida. You're filthy rich!"
"U-uh, that-that might be considered...private," Izuka blinked rapidly at her.
"Uh..." Tenya had blue lines over his forehead in shock and then turned away. "It's okay, Mido. Honestly, I was afraid people would treat me differently if they knew about my family." His friends stared at him with growing curiosity and he sighed in defeat. "You see, the Idas have been pro heroes for generations. It runs in our blood."
"What?! That's awesome!" Ochaco and Izuku exclaimed in unison again.
"T-That must be...an honor," Izuka replied with a small smile. "To be born...in a family full of pros."
"Yes," Tenya smiled proudly while nodding. "Are the three of you familiar with the Turbo Hero, Ingenium?"
"I know all about him!" Izuku piped up with a small blush over his cheeks in awe. "He's a super-popular pro with 65 sidekicks working alongside him at his Tokyo agency." He then recoiled back in shock. "Don't tell me..."
"He's my elder brother!" Tenya stood proudly with his hands on his hips.
"Your family's famous!" Ochaco screeched as Izuka's eyes widened.
"I can't believe it!" Izuku commented while his sister gave a small chuckle.
"W-wow..." She murmured to herself.
Tenya hummed while tilting his glasses. "Ingenium is an unmatched commander who honors the hero code. As the second oldest Ida son, I strive to be just like him. However...I think it might be a bit soon for me to be in a real leadership role. You, for example," He turned to Izuku with a small smile. "You figured out what the judges were looking for in the practical exam. A rep needs that sort of insight." He then flinched in alarm as his friends were staring at him in awe.
"That's the first time I've seen you smile, Tenya!" Ochaco pointed out to him. "You should do it more."
"Uh...what are you talking about? I smile all the time!" He protested back to her.
Ida wants to be like Ingenium in the same way I wanna be like All Might, and I want Izuka to be her own hero. But he shouldn't be so hard on himself. I was clueless in that test.
"And Mido," He turned to the girl and she blinked from being addressed. "While you are timid, you always manage to overcome your fears when they're right in front of you. Just look at you today, you gained the courage to sit with us, and you figured out as well what was needed to pass the practical. And you did act quickly when attempting to save Bakugo. I'm sure that if you had a few more votes, you might've been class rep as well."
"C-Come on, Ida-San..." She stammered bashfully while looking away. "We all know t-that I'm not suited for it..."
"Well, she would've gotten there eventually if she was the winner," Ochaco gave a small smile. "Although I can see why she voted for her brother, you used to scare her."
"I-I did, didn't I?!" Tenya stammered and then bowed his head to her. "I know that I asked Midoriya to do so for me, but I humbly and directly apologize for my previous behavior towards you, Mido!"
"Uh?" She gave a nervous look and then waved a rapid hand towards him. "N-No, it's okay, really. W-we're classmates, so...we should be getting along, right? T-That's now in the past, Ida-San..." She then pressed her forefingers while turning to face the three. "B-But...I actually snuck in...two votes..."
"Really?" Ochaco leaned in a bit towards her. "Who?"
"O-Oh, no one..." Izuka turned away awkwardly. She didn't want to spoil it for the second person she voted for, but it definitely wasn't Katsuki. The girl shook her head rapidly from thinking about him for some reason.
"Hey, yeah, so about that practical exam-"
Suddenly the bell rang, but it wasn't the bell to head for class. In fact, it kept ringing and ringing. Everyone looked up in confusion as they didn't recognize it at all. "What is that?" Izuku wondered as everyone had gone silent.
"Warning. Level 3 security breach."
"No way!" One of the students exclaimed in shock.
"All students please evacuate the building in an orderly fashion."
"What's a level three security breach?" Tenya questioned the student next to him.
"It means that someone's managed to get past the school's barriers! This hasn't happened in my three years here. We should get going!" He jumped out of his seat and ran off. Tenya yelped a bit, students screaming in a panic. They were all shoving or pushing each other trying to get out.
"Stop shovin' so hard!"
"Wait, I'm getting trampled!"
"I said stop pushing me!"
"Ow!" Ochaco winced as the four were squished together, barely able to move. "This is a total mob!"
"Everyone was quick to react," Tenya called out from behind. "As I'd expect from UA students."
"Sure," Izuku stated with his eyes squeezed shut as Izuka felt her personal space getting violated. And this was another reason crowds weren't her thing... "But they're also causing a huge panic," He then got shoved forward. "Crap! I can't stop!"
"Godspeed, Midoriya!" Tenya shouted and Izuka could barely see anything.
"Oh no, Deku!" Ochaco looked at him nervously.
Izuka gasped as because of her height, she started to get swept up in the crowd. "Ah! G-Guys...!" She cried out while being moved to the side, holding out a hand.
"Mido!" The two turned around, but couldn't see her anywhere. She continued to get shoved towards the left, eventually getting knocked backwards. A pair of arms caught her and pulled her, but they both ended up getting pushed into a wall. She looked up, flinching in alarm to see Katsuki standing over her, his hands pressed to the wall on both sides of her head. He almost towered over her since she was barely 5 feet tall, her back against the wall.
"With how short you are, mousy, you'd get trampled," He muttered as her eyes widened at his answer. And for some reason, her heart was racing and she was looking flushed. Over Katsuki of all people, and she didn't know why. He glanced over his shoulder as she stood there in silence, and he looked...a bit different than how he usually did. As if...he'd let nothing happen to her, even though he used to knock her around sometimes in school or during summer. Her mouth felt dry as she gulped. She remembered all of that...and yet he did help her...so she should at least say something to him.
"T-thank...thank you, Bakugo-San..." She spoke up meekly and he turned to look at her, blinking. Her eyes were...really pretty up close as he noticed her biting her lip. He could tell she didn't know if she said the right thing or not. He cleared his throat while turning away from her, and she could've sworn she saw his face heating up.
"It was nothing," He replied casually and got shoved from behind. He had to stop himself from falling on her as his body was pressed up against hers. Their eyes widened as they were inches away from each other. "Stop shoving, damn it!" He growled to the people behind him. "Damn extras, panicking for no reason."
Izuka clutched the front of her uniform as she felt her heart pounding. It felt like it was about to explode in her chest being this close to him. Yet…it wasn't fear she should've been feeling. Quite the opposite actually, it was more of a warm feeling. An experience she didn't know was a good thing or not.
"Who in the world could've trespassed onto campus grounds?" Tenya looked out the window, and then noticed the reporters that somehow got in. "It's...the press that was outside!"
"All you have to do is give us All Might!" The female reporter demanded to Mr. Aizawa and Present Mic. "He's here somewhere!"
"We said it's his day off," Present Mic gave a small frown.
"Just give us one good comment on record and then we'll leave," Another one pressed and Mr. Aizawa held up his hands.
"I know how you people work, give you an inch and you'll want a mile."
Present Mic leaned towards his ear. "They are trespassing...that means they're kinda like villains. Why don't we just beat 'em up?"
"Don't you even think about it," Mr. Aizawa warned him; they'd be putting UA in a bad light if they did that. Even if they flinched, the media would twist it in their favor. "Unless you want your name dragged through the mud. Let's wait for the cops."
Present Mic looked away with a small knowing growl. "I was afraid it was some kind of attack on the school," Tenya sweated a bit, looking back to everyone. "But there's no need to worry, everyone!" His face got shoved against the glass.
"Ow!"
"Sorry, I think I..."
"Back off!"
Where are the teachers? Why aren't they taking control?
"Everyone! Stop freakin' out!" Eijiro shouted while waving his hands, but no one was listening.
"We really gotta get everyone to calm down. Mido's gonna get squished," Denki called out as Katsuki continued to stand in front of her to make sure that didn't happen.
"I-I'm okay," She stammered while sweat-dropping, squeezing her eyes shut and looking away. The blond noticed her a bit out of breath because of his close proximity, but he still unfortunately couldn't move to make it easier.
"Damn it," He gritted his teeth in annoyance.
"Kirishima! Kaminari!" Tenya shouted, unable to see Izuka or Katsuki.
"The current's too strong!" Denki cried out as the two boys got swept away.
Am I the only one here who realizes everything's fine? There's no reason for us to be panicking!
Ochaco's shout snapped Tenya out of it, seeing her get swept away as well. "Uraraka!"
"Tenya, help me!" She held out her hand.
He managed to move by pressing himself against the window and scooching. What would Midoriya or Mido do? Or my brother? How would they handle this? He then gasped as he got an idea, his glasses tilting a bit. "I have an idea!" He shouted, to her confusion. He held out his hand and she blinked. "Touch my hand! Make me float above everyone else!"
She gasped in realization, reaching out her hand. She struggled to get as close as she could, almost there. She tried again and hit his hand, causing him to float above the crowd. I need a place where I'll get everyone's attention! He looked towards the emergency exit, rolling up a pant leg. His engines activated after doing so. "Engine Boost, go!" He raced forward, spinning around as the twins, Denki, and Eijiro looked up in shock. Tenya spun around out of control.
"What are you doing?!" Izuku called out to him. Tenya then crashed right above the door.
This is it. Be concise, clear, and confident. Make an impact! He then grabbed a pipe so he wouldn't fall back into the chaos.
"Listen up, everything is okay!" He screamed loud enough for them to hear. Everyone looked up with a gasp. "It's just the media outside. There's absolutely nothing to worry about. Everything's fine! We're UA students. We need to remain calm and prove that we're the best of the best."
Eijiro and Denki smiled towards each other, sighing in relief. Izuku beamed while some students looked outside.
"Look, the police are here!"
"Thank goodness!"
The police sirens could be heard outside.
Katsuki finally moved away from Izuka since he had room and she let out a deep breath, holding her very flushed cheeks. Her heart wouldn't stop pounding and she didn't know why. Denki and Eijiro walked over to them. "Mido, you okay? Your face is burning up," Denki tilted his head at her.
She let out a terrified yelp as she couldn't tell them her reaction to Katsuki. "F-f...fine! Y-yes, I'm fine. It's just...really hot!" She then ran off while covering her mouth, confusing Denki. He glanced at Katsuki, who stared after her and then blushed a bit. He looked away, his arm in front of his face from how close she was...he was too focused in helping her that he completely forgot that he was pressed up against her warm body. It felt…different…
"Uhhh, the heck was that all about?" Denki blinked while glancing between her and Katsuki.
"Nothing," Katsuki grunted out after a few seconds.
"That's a wrap!" Present Mic announced to everyone. "Get these vultures out of our station!"
The police soon cleared the press away, and all the chaos finally ended.
"It's time, class rep," Momo announced once they were back in class. "Let's begin."
Katsuki was staring at Izuka, but she wasn't looking at him. Her face was resting in her arms so that no one could see her red face.
Why am I being so weird around Bakugo-San...? It's not...it's not supposed to feel this way around him...right? I should be angry at him like usually or even tolerate him...but instead, he went out of his way to save me back there...
Izuku had a slight blush on his face, shaking. "Um...okay, so we need to figure out who the other class officers will be. But first...there's something that I wanna say." Izuka lifted up her head, blinking and then knew exactly what was on his mind. It was something that was in her thoughts as well. "I've thought a lot about this. And I think that Tenya Ida should be our class rep!" He squeezed his eyes shut, Izuka giving a small smile of agreement. Tenya gasped in alarm after hearing it. "He was able to capture everyone's attention and get us in line. So I believe...that he should be the one leading our class from now on!" He smiled towards everyone, Tenya's breath escaping him.
"Yeah, you know what?" Eijiro piped up, Tenya seeing everyone staring at him. "If Midoriya vouches for him, I'm good. Plus he was a big help. He totally manned up and took charge, right?"
"Yup!" Denki agreed with him. "Oh, did you notice he looked like the dude on the emergency exit signs when he was on the wall earlier?" As he was speaking, Tenya glanced over to Izuku, who nodded silently as he was sure in his decision.
"This is a waste of time," Mr. Aizawa stated while in his sleeping bag. Izuku flinched as he didn't realize the teacher had been listening the whole time. "I don't care who the rep is, just hurry up," He then laid back down for his nap.
Tenya closed his eyes and stood up. "If Midoriya is nominating me for this job...then I humbly accept," He raised his hand. "I pledge to carry out the duties of class rep to the best of my abilities!"
"Sounds good, Emergency Exit!" Eijiro smiled towards him, giving a thumbs up.
"Emergency Exit Ida! Don't let us down, man!" Denki called out as Ochaco smiled happily from behind Tenya.
Momo gave a deadpanned look. "Hello, I got three more votes than him..."
Izuka gave a small giggle to herself from Momo's expression. She then glanced to the side to catch Katsuki staring at her. He flinched and then seethed at her. "W-What are you looking at, mousy?" He hissed and she yelped, turning back around so she didn't get him even more pissed off. Was it her imagination, or had he been staring at her the whole time...?
Some of the teachers were looking towards the barrier. It looked like someone had damaged it as it was crumbled to bits somehow. "How were ordinary members of the press able to bypass our security systems?" The principal wondered, his hands behind his back. "Someone else must have been behind this. Some villain actually managed to infiltrate our school. But was this purely a show of power or a declaration of war?"
He honestly didn't know, and if it was the latter...then UA might be in a lot of danger.
Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods, and another hero were exhausted looking up towards a villain. "Don't move! Once step closer, and I'll kill this whole family," He threatened as he was hugging a family of three close to him. "You don't want the blood of these damned yuppies on your hands now, do ya, heroes?" The family of three were shaking in terror, crying out of fear. Mt. Lady gritted her teeth.
"Never fear, dear citizens!" A familiar voice boomed and she gasped. Something shined from up above. "Missouri...Smash!" All Might came flying down in his suit, hitting the villain from behind. He then fell to the ground, while the hero had caught the family in his arms. "I'm here to keep you safe, even on my morning commute!" He turned around with a big smile. He then heard a shriek nearby.
"A hit-and-run!"
He looked back while gritting his teeth a little. "I shouldn't be late for school, but I can't ignore someone in need!" He then jumped into the sky, looking around for the source. However...he did notice something about his speed. I've clearly gotten slower. My powers have been weakening even faster since I gave One for All to Young Midoriya. I'm pushing my hero form too far past the limits. He then clenched a fist in front of him. Fighting that sludge villain even though I was exhausted shortened the time I can spend as the Symbol of Peace. That big punch he gave it took a lot out of him when he was already over three hours being in his hero form. He then sweated a bit, remembering the conversation he had with the twins the other day.
"Wait. You told Bakugo what?" He asked in shock once they had told him. Izuku looked towards the ground with a deep frown on his face. Izuka bowed her head apologetically to him.
"We're...we're so sorry, Mr. All Might," She spoke softly as the hero furrowed his eyebrows. "I tried to stop him, but...he wanted to prove to Bakugo-San that we weren't hiding our Quirks. It really seemed to be affecting him...so I ended up agreeing."
All Might stared at her curiously as she seemed...sympathetic towards Katsuki. Even though All Might knew that he was the only one other than Mr. Aizawa that both twins didn't get along with out of everyone else in their class so far. Any time Izuku spoke of him, it was more optimistic than spiteful, while Izuka tended to dodge the subject. And he could tell from her expression right now that she was still a bit hesitant to defend Izuku here.
"She's right, I'm so sorry..." Izuku spoke up as All Might gave a hum of thought. "We didn't even tell our mom about any of this, but for some reason, I felt like I had to explain it to him. Like it was only fair that he knew. Not to mention he's already asked the both of us about Izuka not having used her Quirk..."
All Might flinched a bit in alarm. 'Bakugo asked about Mido's Quirk? Why? It's not my business to ask, but...I wonder what exactly is the relationship between the two of them. The Midoriyas aren't the type of people who want to show off. In fact, Mido is the exact opposite of that. That's not the reason he shared our secret, why Izuka allowed him to, so I didn't lecture them too much.'
"Don't look so sad," He stated to the twins. "He didn't take you seriously about me, so I don't think he'll say anything. This time I'll let things slide." Izuku gasped while looking up at him. Izuka sighed in relief. "Just make sure this doesn't happen again. You need to think carefully about the responsibility that comes with this power. If word got out that One for All could be passed on, villains across the globe would come for you, trying to take it." Izuka gasped sharply at this fact. "You must keep this secret to ensure your own wellbeing and your sister's, true. But also for the safety of the world."
Izuku gasped this time as this was serious. "Understand?"
All Might had smoke coming from him. Even if he is a more suitable vessel now, and Izuka has a good understanding of her shooting star ability, they're still 15-year-old kids. He had punched the hood of a car, stopping the driver. I have to make sure I guide them well.
"There's a hostage situation across town!" A bystander called out and All Might growled, turning around. He took off to the skies again.
"Today's training will be a little different," Mr. Aizawa announced to Class 1-A. "You'll have three instructors. Me, All Might, and another faculty member will be keeping tabs on you."
They all gasped from the sudden change. Up until now, it was always one teacher for the classes. Three pros? Is that because of the break-in?
"Sir!" Hanta called out while raising his hand. "What kinda training is this?"
He then held up a card that said rescue, similar to what All Might did before combat class. "Rescue. You'll be dealing with natural disasters, shipwrecks, stuff like that."
They all chattered in excitement. "Disasters, huh?" Denki wondered a bit anxiously. "Sounds like we're in for a big workout."
"Totally!" Mina exclaimed next to him while pumping her fists.
"Real hero stuff," Eijiro smirked from behind Denki. "This is what separates the men from the boys. I'm shakin' with excitement."
"Finally, I'll get to show off how good I am in water," Tsuyu stated from Eijiro's right. "Ribbit."
"Guys, I'm not finished yet," Mr. Aizawa warned as they were all speaking while he wasn't. They all gave awkward sounds as they realized they were speaking out of turn. "What you wear in this exercise is up to you. I know you're excited about costumes..." He pressed a button to open up the walls to reveal their cases. "But keep in mind that you haven't gotten used to them yet, and they might limit your abilities. This special training's at an off-campus facility, so we'll be taking a bus to get there. That's all. Start getting ready," He then walked off to make sure the preparations were in order. Everyone stood up to grab their costumes, Minoru admiring Izuka since her seat was between her brother and Katsuki's. The blond glanced down at the boy and then shoved him aside.
"Outta my way, grape head," He grunted as he walked behind Izuka.
"My name's Mineta, you blocker!" Mineta shouted up at him.
Rescue training Izuku thought with a determined look. He then thought of the video he loved as a kid of All Might's debut. I've been waiting for this. He then clenched a fist. It'll bring me one step closer to being the kind of hero he is. I'll do my best.
Later on, he was wearing his gym uniform, still wearing his gear. "Deku?" Ochaco walked up to him while everyone was waiting for the bus. Izuka was standing next to him, near Katsuki actually. "Why are you wearing your PE clothes? Where's your costume at?"
"You saw it after the combat training," He gave a sheepish smile. "It was kinda trashed. I'm still waiting on the support company to fix it up." Momo walked up to Minoru...oogling Ochaco and Izuka.
"M-Mine...wasn't too bad, it just...needed a cleaning, so...that's why I still have mine," Izuka gestured to herself.
"Well, that's good! Still look adorable," Ochaco smiled, pressing her hands together.
"Did you know that she designed it when she was a kid? She's a really good artist," Izuku gave a small smile.
"Ah!" Izuka yelped while waving her hands around. "I-I'm not that good...!" She stammered nervously; only a few people knew in her life that she even dabbled in art. That would be her mom, Izuku, All Might, and Katsuki. It wasn't something she was too eager to share sometimes because she felt embarrassed. At least with All Might, she casually could mention it at the beach because at that point she knew him.
"Are you kidding? Don't forget you helped me with mine and you used to draw with me when we were growing up," Izuku blinked at her.
"Ooh, really? I'd love to see your work if you brought your sketchbook!" Ochaco smiled eagerly and Izuka nodded slowly.
"Y-Yeah...I was gonna...sit in the back so I could do it without people noticing..." She admitted and the brunette blinked in realization that she might be overstepping a little.
"Oh! If it's private, you don't have to show me," She waved a rapid hand.
"No...it-it's okay. We are...friends, aren't we? And...well, I-I trust you, Uraraka-Chan," Izuka responded softly and Ochaco gasped happily.
"Yeah! Of course we're friends!" She gave a big smile. Izuka smiled a little too.
They then heard a crash, the three turning around to see Katsuki had thrown his gauntlet towards Minoru.
"What was that for?!" He demanded towards the blond, who looked away with a scoff.
"You were in the way," Katsuki simply responded and Minoru grunted.
Why does he keep blocking me? Does he just want Mido to himself?!
Tenya blew a whistle while standing in front of the bus. "Gather around, Class 1-A! Using your seat numbers, form two neat lines so we can load the bus efficiently." He continued blowing the whistle, everyone staring at him. His three friends all sweat-dropped towards him.
"Ida's kicking it into high gear as our class rep, huh?" Izuku wondered to the girls.
The bus then took off with the class. The seats were more so like on a subway train than a school bus. Tenya looked towards the ground in embarrassment. "The bus' open layout ruined my boarding strategy..."
"Ida, you really need to chill," Mina told him with a small smile. Izuku had managed to convince his sister to sit with him and Tsuyu...mostly because where she wanted to sit, Katsuki was there. And he knew that she wouldn't want to get questioned by him again possibly. Though he didn't know it was also because of earlier during the emergency alarm the press set off...
"If we're pointing out the obvious, then there's something I wanna say...about you guys, actually," Tsuyu turned to the twins, who looked confused.
"About me?" Izuku flinched while Izuka pressed her forefingers together. "What is it, Asui?"
"I told you to call me Tsu," She gave a small smile.
"Oh," He looked away while blushing in embarrassment. "Yeah, right."
"Then...if it's okay...c-can...I call you Tsu-Chan?" Izuka wondered meekly, earning a nod.
"Close enough. Anyway, that power of yours, Midoriya. Isn't it a lot like All Might's? And does that mean Mido is hiding it too?"
Both of the twins yelped; a question like this after what All Might told them when they told Katsuki was not helping. "What? Really? You think so, huh?" He recoiled back in alarm as Izuka waved her hands around rapidly.
"O-Our powers are completely different...! I-I'm...pretty sure I-I don't have any of my brother's abilities!" Izuka protested quietly while sweat was flying from her hair.
"Yeah, and I never really thought about that," Izuku turned away from Tsuyu. "I guess it's kinda similar..."
"Wait, hold on, Tsu," Eijiro spoke up from Izuka's left. "You're forgetting All Might doesn't hurt himself. Mido burned her fingers, but that's not exactly the same. She would've thrown the ball differently during our Quirk test if they had the same Quirk. That makes a huge difference."
The twins sighed in relief; thankfully, they didn't have to worry about anyone else connecting the dots.
"Still, I bet it's cool to have a simple augmenting-type and an emitter-type a'Quirks. You guys can do lots of flashy stuff with them." He then held out his arm. "My Hardening's super strong and can destroy bad guys in a fight," His skin hardened up to demonstrate for them. "But it doesn't look all that impressive."
"Oh, no way," Izuka piped up with a small smile. "I think it's really awesome looking. You're definitely pro material with a Quirk like that."
"You really think so?" Eijiro examined his skin. "Seems like it'd be easier to be a popular hero if I had somethin' flashier."
"Oh...n-no, Kirishima-San," Izuka stammered, getting his attention. "I-I agree with my brother...you're like an unbreakable shield. T-That can provide a lot of support for anyone..."
"Thanks, Mido," Eijiro gave her a small smile. "I didn't think of it like that."
"My Navel Laser's got the perfect combination of panache and strength," Yuga spoke up with his hands on his cheeks.
"But it's way lame if it gives you a stomachache, sweetie," Mina placed a hand on his shoulder. He gave a sheepish look towards her, since he knew that strength meant nothing if he couldn't get past that limit...the twins gave him sheepish smiles from across his seat.
"Well, if any of our classmates have pro Quirks, it's Todoroki and Bakugo," Eijiro glanced towards the two. Katsuki was...once again staring at Izuka while Shoto was sitting behind him. Kyoka was sitting next to the blond, her ears connected to her phone. Eijiro blinked in confusion at the direction Katsuki was looking at. He flinched and when Izuka was about to look up, he turned back towards the window. She blinked in confusion, wondering what was on his mind. His stare towards the window was intriguing to say the least.
She then flinched, turning away rapidly while sweating, her eyebrow twitching. Not again...why does this happen only around him? Does it really matter what happened during the security alert?
Izuku blinked at his sister. "Uhh, you okay?" He asked and she gulped.
"Y-yeah, I think I'm just...feeling a little hot, heh," She gave an awkward smile; she hadn't had any time to talk to him about earlier, and she wasn't even sure if she should. Maybe it was just a one-time thing and she wouldn't have to worry about it. Katsuki never asked about it, so he probably had already forgotten it.
"Sure, but Bakugo's always angry, so he'll never be that popular," Tsuyu remarked, the twins and Katsuki all yelping in shock for her being so blunt.
"What did you say?!" He stood up with angry white eyes, Kyoka moving away slightly. "I'll kick your ass!"
"Ya see?" Tsuyu pointed to him.
"M-maybe don't insult a classmate when he can hear you," Izuka waved her hands rapidly.
"Mm?" Izuku glanced at her, wondering when she started to defend Katsuki. This is getting kinda weird. Why is she helping him? For the most of our lives, she couldn't stand Kacchan. Did something happen again with the two of them...?
"I didn't ask for your input, mousy!" Katsuki pointed at her and she rolled her eyes to the back of her head in silence. "Don't ignore me!"
"You know, we basically just met you," Denki spoke up from nearby. "So it's kinda telling that we all know your personality is flaming crap mixed with garbage. But then, why did you and Mido look so coz-"
He yelped as Katsuki threw his shoe at his face before he could finish answering the question. Kyoka moved away slightly in her seat. "You're gonna regret the day you applied to this school, you loser...! I'll kill you!"
Izuku held his head with a baffled expression. I can't believe what I'm hearing. Kacchan's the one in class who's getting teased. UA is so confusing! And something did happen with him and Izuka? Why is he trying to hide it?
He looked to Izuka staring at Denki wide-eyed and then she pinched her temple. She had no idea why she felt the need to speak up for Katsuki when he obviously didn't want it. Maybe because he saved her, but that brought up the question of doing it just for that reason. Especially since he was reacting negatively and didn't seem to care.
Ochaco gave a small smile towards the boys and Izuka. "This is such a disgusting conversation," Momo murmured while covering her mouth.
"Yeah, but it's kinda fun listening to them fight," The brunette turned to her with a small smile.
"Hey, hey, we're here," Mr. Aizawa called out from the front. "Stop messing around."
"Yes, sir," Most students responded to him.
"Whatever," Katsuki scoffed, glancing at Izuka for the third time today. He gritted his teeth a little. He could care less about what she said to Tsuyu to try and ease things over. "T-thank...thank you, Bakugo-San..." She spoke up meekly and he turned to look at her, blinking. Her eyes were...really pretty up close as he noticed her biting her lip.
He opened his eyes and groaned to himself. Stupid press...if they hadn't been there, I wouldn't be so stuck on those dopey eyes. Yeah...that was all there was to it, and nothing more.
Once they stepped off the bus, they were met with someone wearing a space suit of sorts. "Hello, everyone, I've been waiting for you!" She greeted while standing in front of the building and they all gasped as they recognized her.
"It's the Space Hero, Thirteen!" Izuku exclaimed while other students murmured in awe. "The chivalrous pro who's rescued a ton of people from disasters across the world!" He gushed and then elbowed his sister a little. "Hey, you and her could get along!"
Izuka smiled a little in agreement since...her powers had to do with space, and Thirteen was the Space Hero. "Woo-hoo! Thirteen is one of my favorite heroes!" Ochaco squealed in excitement.
"I can't wait to show you what's inside!" She gestured to the building behind her.
"This is gonna be awesome!" Most of the students exclaimed. They stepped inside of the building, admiring it as it was a glass dome inside. But every single spot had something different to offer in terms of terrain, like mountains, destroyed buildings, or water.
"Holy crap!" Eijiro commented as they took it all in. "It looks like some kind of amusement park!"
"A shipwreck," Thirteen gestured to a giant slide that had a ship in water. "A landslide," She then pointed to the collapsed buildings. "A fire," The red dome had fire inside of it, but never overtook the structure for it to burn down. "A windstorm," Another dome had a rainstorm inside. "Et cetera! I created this training facility to prepare you to deal with different types of disasters. I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. But you can call it USJ!"
Some of them looked at her wide-eyed. Just like Universal Studios Japan.
Mr. Aizawa walked up to her. "Hey, shouldn't All Might be here already? Let me guess, he booked an interview instead."
Izuka gave a closed-eyed sheepish smile. Well, he is the world's number-one hero. He might be getting hit with a lot of crime this morning.
Thirteen got closer to him to whisper. "Actually, it's something else." He turned to her curiously. "Apparently he did too much hero work on the way to school this morning and used up all his power. He's resting in the teacher's lounge."
"I'm sorry," All Might apologized from the room while on the phone. "I should be able to catch the tail end of the rescue exercises. I'll be there as soon as I can."
"That man is the height of irresponsibility," Mr. Aizawa deadpanned after hearing this. He then glanced back to his class. Well, we should be okay with just the two of us. "The clock's ticking. We should get started."
"Excellent!" Thirteen gestured to behind her. "Before we begin, let me just say one thing. Well, maybe two things. Possibly three, four, or five."
"We get it!" Most of them had a shadow over them.
Thirteen then looked at her hand. "Listen carefully. I'm sure you're aware that I have a powerful Quirk. It's called Black Hole. I can use it to suck up anything and turn it into dust."
"Yeah, you've used Black Hole to save people from all kinds of disasters before, haven't you?" Izuku wondered while Ochaco nodded her head eagerly.
"That's true, but my Quirk could also very easily be used to kill." The twins, Tenya, and Ochaco all gasped. Izuka gave a nervous look since that could be applied to her as well. "Some of you also have powers that can be dangerous. Your teacher tells me one of you hasn't used their Quirk almost at all, and that's just as bad if not trained properly." Izuka flinched while cringing since...that was obviously her. He just had to bring her up... "In our superhuman society, all Quirks are certified and stringently regulated, so we often overlook how unsafe they can actually be. Please don't forget that if you lose focus or make the wrong move, your powers can be deadly. Even if you're trying to do something virtuous like rescue someone. Thanks to Aizawa's fitness tests, you have a solid idea of your Quirk's potential. And because of All Might's combat training, you likely experienced how dangerous your powers can be when used against other people. Carry those lessons over to this class. Today, you're going to learn how to use your Quirks to save people's lives. You won't be using your powers to attack enemies or each other, only to help. After all, that's what being a hero is all about. Ensuring the safety of others."
Izuku's eyes shined as Izuka opened her mouth a bit in awe. Both of them understood very well what she was telling them. Thirteen is so cool!
She then bowed to the class. "That's all I have to say. Thank you so much for listening."
The students cheered at her, some clapping. Mr. Aizawa looked up from his spot. "Right. Now that that's over..." He pointed to the layout...but then the lights started to spark, and they went out. All of them gasped while looking up, the water in the fountain going on and off. A purple portal then appeared from it, which Mr. Aizawa sensed immediately. He turned around in alarm as the portal only grew bigger, and then formed into something. He gasped while turning around fully, a hand reaching out. It moved away the portal...to reveal the man with hands all over him. Mr. Aizawa narrowed his eyes and was on immediate alert. "Stay together and don't move!" They all gasped from his warning. "Thirteen. Protect the students!"
Eijiro turned to the portal, recoiling back nervously. "Whoa, what is that thing?" They turned to the giant portal to see numerous villains stepping inside. "Wait, has the training started already? I thought we were rescuing people!"
Izuku was about to step forward for a better look. "STAY BACK!" Mr. Aizawa warned again and they flinched. Izuku glanced up, gasping to see the teacher putting on his goggles. "This is real. Those are villains."
Everyone flinched in disbelief, some of them shaking. "W-What...? How...?" Izuka stammered since she thought that like UA, there would be security. And yet these people managed to bypass it in no time.
We thought we were going to be practicing saving other people's lives that day, but when they appeared...we realized we were the ones in danger.
This wasn't supposed to be happening...and yet it was. And it was that day, that we realized...just how much we had to push ourselves to survive.
The twins stared at all of the villains, their eyes shaking in terror.
