A/N: I shouldn't be allowed to listen to music anymore, it inspires too many stories. This one is obviously inspired by Lavendar Haze by Taylor Swift.
This story will have shorter chapters like Single Soon. I'm going to post whenever, maybe multiple chapters a day, we'll see how it goes. I'm going to be a little loosey-goosey with the posting schedule for this one since I have so many stories going at the moment. I've been extremely inspired lately and can't seem to help myself.
Happy reading!

The rain was hitting my makeshift umbrella, aka my purse, in large drops as I rushed down the busy sidewalk for a place to seek refuge. The deluge had come out of nowhere, it wasn't even supposed to rain, I'd double checked before I left my apartment.
Sunny skies for days it had said. This was not sunny skies.
I was thankful for the jean jacket I was wearing over my lightweight maxi dress, that was almost too thin on a normal day, but would be extremely inappropriate today. Flashing strangers on the sidewalk wasn't on my list of fun things to do. I rounded the corner, a Starbucks appearing in front of me like a guardian angel and I walked as quickly as I dared to the entrance.
The air conditioning blasted me as soon as I walked in, making me shiver and goosebumps to pebble on my skin. I put the strap of my bag back on my shoulder as I got in line to order a hot coffee to enjoy while I waited for the monsoon outside to let up.
"What I can I get you?" The young woman with hair dyed the color of my jacket, asked me when it was my turn to order.
"A cafe latte, please." I dug my card out to pay, the machine pinging when I tapped the piece of plastic against it.
"Could I get a name for the order?"
"Bella."
She wrote my name on the cup as I walked away from the counter, going to stand next to where they would be placing my coffee once it was ready, taking out my phone to see a text from my mom, advising that I wear a raincoat if I was going to be leaving the apartment, because a freak storm had blown in.
Too late for that one. My soaked person was the evidence.
When my coffee was placed in the receiving area, I reached for it, only for another hand to make contact with the cup at the same time. I looked over at the person who was about to commit a mortal sin by taking my life's blood, but am struck by how green his eyes are. They're a dark, dark green with some brown swirled in around the irises. I've never seen that color green before, and it was causing my creative juices to flow. I could see a forest coming to life on the canvas in my mind, my fingers itching for a paint brush.
"Sorry." The man says, his voice smooth like butter. "I didn't look at the name before I grabbed."
"It's okay. Mistakes happen." He smiles and my brain short circuits. I take a moment to look him over, trying to be as discreet as possible. He's tall, wearing a suit and tie. Unlike me, he's carrying an umbrella.
He smiles again. "I'm still sorry." He sticks his hand out to me. "My name's Edward. I figured if I tried to take your coffee, you should know my name."
I laugh, shaking his hand. "Funny. I'm Bella."
"Bella." He bites his lips, his eyes taking in my features. "Fitting."
My face blushes scarlet. "If this is you trying to butter me up so I hand over my coffee, you have another thing coming. I take my caffeine needs very seriously."
He laughs and pleasure zips through me at the sound. "I wouldn't think of trying to take your coffee… well, not now, at least. I take my caffeine needs very seriously, as well."
A barista placing his cup on the counter breaks our moment.
"Well, I have to get back to work. I have a mandatory staff meeting that's bound to run way too long. This," he motions his cup in my direction as he starts to back away. "Is going to keep me awake. Hope to see you around, beautiful Bella."
I wave to him as he leaves, my heart skipping a beat.
Suddenly, I'm happy it started raining.
Hope you enjoyed it.
Let me know what you think.
See you next time!
