Hello hello! back again. A curious tale I have you all today. I watched this movie way back when. Found it neat, years later decided to put my two cents into the world of it. After a rather curious video on YouTube of a singing otter, props if you know which one.
It doesnt however follow any of the main characters from the film. These are entirely my own with creative takes as i have deemed fit. While this story (as with basicly all that i have written) there will be smut though i will put this out there right not that i refuse to look into how actual animal anatomy works for the sake of intercourse. So all animals will have more human anatomy because thats what I know.
This is another sad story, a slow burn, deals with alot psychological issues a person deals with affect a major traumatic experience. All that I ask is that you read with an open mind and let me know what you think. Just please be gentle.
And as always...
If you but follow me, i'll release you from the burden of free will.
"Would you like to start Mr. Pine?"
"..."
"This is the third session you've come to and you've hardly said a word."
"..."
The lynx sighed setting down her pen, tucking it under the clip of the board resting on her lap. She was young for a psychiatrist couldn't have been older then twenty. Not to easy on the eyes either in the way all cats were. Slender, athletic build with gentle curves in all the right places. Always proper fur groomed neatly she used lemon scent mask an interesting choice. Then there was dangerous glean in their eyes bordering homicide and want to send a shiver down the spine.
"You have to talk to me you know." She said lacing her paws together and crossing one long leg over the other. Annoyance came of the feline in waves, he was well aware why she in particular had been appointed to him. Which was half the reason why he hadnt said a word since having been assigned to her by court order.
She stared at him, yellow eyes shining with wanting curiosity. That's how all cats where hundreds of years of evolution couldn't change that. Most, from polar bear to field mouse would have likely balked under such a scrutinizing gaze. Most being the operative word in this particular situation.
Some animals just don't give a shit.
More of a honey badger concept, now that was a pissed off little mammal. All badgers where in that regard. Sky could be falling and they'd be complaing about how expensive fruits were at the market.
"A reaction! By the Creator!" She chirped excitedly all to proud of herself. He scowled realising he had been smiling at his line of thought.
"I wasn't…"
She sat forward intently listing to his every word. Pine crossed his arms shifting in his seat. How could he even begin?
By divine intervention an alarm went off, the lynx flinched hair standing on end. He suppressed a laugh covering with a cough. She still glared at him tapping her phone and smoothing her fur down.
"Times up…Mr Pine I know the circumstances as to why you've had to come here." She stood just as he did a full head taller making him look up. His eyes met hers cold blue against striking yellow. He turned the office door handle opening it slightly.
"I want to help you. But you need to talk to me."
Pines gaze fell to the floor working his jaw back and forth.
"I…don't know how you…can" He said chosing his words carefully. She smiled warmly taping on her phone for a moment. His buzzed a notification showing the next appointment date.
"Day after tomorrow, same time. Just talk I'll listen."
She made it sound so easy.

Zootopia is perhaps the testament of how far animal civilization had truly come. So many species, so many diverse biomes, carnivorous to herbivor. So many living in a place that had once been considered the dreams of the fool hardy. It was beautiful in the way only the impossible could be.
Pine tiled his head back letting the breathe he'd been holding out. He stood at the bus stop in the Polar sector. The air clouded around him settling like a gentle snow fall on his fur. Other animals waited around him: family of voles with a bunch of squeaking kids, an aged moose hunched over his wide antlers coated in snow, and a young artic fox idely typing on her phone noisly chewing some gum. All of them gave him a wide beareth which was something he'd come to live with over the years.
Wolverines, oft of which had the same reputation of honey badgers. That of being exceptionally aggressive at the slightest drop of a hat. Which was true, though many liked to point out they were actually more related to weasels than badgers. Not a single wolverine had ever, nor would, deny their nature.
The bus rumbled to the stop, it's doors open with a loud hiss. Pine waited patiently for the other passengers to get on following the fox last. It was far warmer on the bus than outside, those already on noticeably shivered at the sudden blast of sub zero temperature. He found a seat towards the back, a family of rabbits number around a fucking lot had taken up most of the seats there. A dozen multicoloured kits clamoured over the seats making a racket of everything. Their parents, a tired eyed doe and buck respectively, saw him and immediately panicked. With a sharp whistle from the father their heads snapped to him pink noses twitching fearfully.
He smiled, making sure to show just a little bit of his sharp teeth.
Not that anyone would thank him but the bus ride was significantly quieter. Given all the rabbits where now in a terror filled huddle.
–
He got off at the wrong stop.
Though he found that perhaps that was a good thing.
Itd been to long since he'd actually left the Artic Biome district. His species preferred the cold what they were built for. But being warm naturally instead of just pure insulation was a nice change of pace. The Forest biome had the perk of being in a neat perpetual spring. While it would eventually cool as it is was only natural for there to be seasons it never got as bone chilling as the artic.
The bus rumbled away along with much relief for the rabbit family aboard. It'd be a whole day before another bus would come to take him to the edge of the city. He could catch the train but that sent him through-
A roar of gods wraith upon the Earth. Eons of pure hate smashing through constructs that had taken generations to build. Coming at them, coming for them-
Hes back.
His lungs burn, hearts beating a million miles a minute everything is shaking. He's in the center of a park under a lonely oak overlooking a narrow river bank. The bus stops long gone he'd taken off at a dead sprint to get away from…
Pine puts his back to the monarch sliding down slowly. He felt sick, wanting to vomit what wasn't there. Felt like the whole world had gone vertigo. Air couldn't fill his lungs fast enough. He sat there for a long while just breathing a paw on his muzzle rubbing between his eyes.
Maybe the shrink was right.
He opened his eyes, watching the current of the the river. That was peaceful didn't help his stomach any but just watching it seemed to alleviate his uneasyness. Maybe when he went in again he'd actually-
"Psst!"
He blinked swinging his head side to side confused
"Psst hey!"
It was coming from the river.
Great now in addition to everything else he was going insane.
A head popped up out of the water with an awkward smile. Pine stared in shock as it quickly paddled over to bank scurrying onto the shore. The river otter, as that what she was, shook her golden white body dry. Much like it was for her species' she was a rather stacked specimen: short black spandex covered legs with wide powerful hips, a solid narrow waist leading to a sizeable chest barely conceild by a much to small yellow tank top, and then of course perhaps the most adorable of faces with a small button nose, wide green eyes filled with joy. She rung out the front of her shirt as she approached him still awkwardly grinning.
"Big ask but I need an huge favour." She glanced back to the water shifting from foot to foot anxiously. Pine still sitting down, peeked around her but didn't see anything of note.
"So for like a minute could I hide behind you? And you just stand there all-" She paused as he stood up slowly, while not exactly towering over her she had to tilt her head up slightly to actually see him entirely. It appeared that only now she'd noticed what species he was. That didn't seem to phase her in the slightest
"-menacingly like. Please?"
She clasped her hands together putting them to her chest batting her long lashes up to him.
Who could say no to a face like that?
—
Two male river otters burst from the water landing on shore in a practiced roll. They were almost entirely identical in both size and build. Down to the darker golden fur that ran from their snouts to tail tip, and the creamy white that trailed down their mouths past there lower extremities. One however word red shorts while the other wore navy blue.
"Excellent." They said in unison fist bumping one another after they shook themselves dry. Both knelt webbed paws touching the faint imprint of tracks leading away from the bank. They looked to each other wicked grins spreading across their faces.
"Can't run from us!" Yelled Red rising up slowly following the trail. Blue kept a few paces behind following crouch low keeping a wary eye to the bank and surrounding area. Red came to a sudden stop which lead Blue to bump into him. The brother turned confused grabbing his familas shoulder, why had -
Oh .
He was big.
Arms crossed leaning against the tree even from a distance the level of violence coming off the black snouted wolverine made them both gulp. His teeth were bared an unpretty sight for any creature to behold. The brothers took a collective step back.
"S-s-sorry s-sir but uh…" Red was physically trembling from himself and where Blue was holding him. A noise almost like a growl emitted from the wolverine as he took a single step forward.
The brothers screamed like little girls, moving so fast back to the river they actually left an outline of themselves free standing. As the water fell, and the otters panicked splashing faded away, Pine uncrossed his arms he sniffed scratching at his neck.
"Bwhahahahah!"
The female river otter was behind him rolling around clutching her stomach. She was laughing so hard actually tears were streaming down her face.
"Did you hear they-they-they screamed like-bwhahahah!"
She rolled to her knees pounding the ground unable to contain herself. After a bout of hysterical laughter the otter finally picked herself up the occasional giggle threating to send her over the edge again. She wiped the last of the tears out from under her eyes a wide smile plastered as she looked up to him holding out her hand to shake.
"You went above an beyond Mr…uh…." Her webbed digets opened and closed.
"Pine ." He grumbled gentlely taking her hand, all he had done was smile. Her giving him a nudge in the back had startled him to say the least.
"Pine? Nice. I like it. I'm Lucy Song, pleased to-"
A buzzing interrupted her.
Both their eyes shot to her chest which was vibrating, her bust shook comicly jiggling in the tight constraints of her top. Lucy's face flushed red letting go of Pines clawed hand as she shoved the other between her own cleavage pulling out the small cell that had been tucked away. Lucy stood ridged clutching the phone silencing the device.
"I uh didn't have any pockets so uh…" she shrugged with a tittering nervous laugh. Pine cocked his head a ghost of a smile tracing his mouth.
"Those were my brothers by the way!" She blurted desperate to change the subject. Pine smirked, which looked more like a snarl as he shook his head still trying to get a idea of the situation.
"Hey. Let me see your phone."
The otter was suddenly very up in his personal space. Barely able to come up to his lower jaw it was rather amusing to see such bravery given her stature. Pine wordlessly took his phone out of his jacket pocket, he'd barely turned it on before she promptly snatched it from his hands. Before he could interject her little digits danced across the screen. She then held it up winking cutely while making a peace sign as the shutter snapped. Satisfied Lucy held it out for him cocking her hips tail wagging giddily.
"My number and a proper saver for it."
Pine was utterly speechless as he took the device back. Her contact info was there along with the photo already saved to her number for call/text notifications.
"Give me a call later, or text so I can …return the favor." She rocked back and forth, tail wagging, winking suggestively. Pine could only stare as she took her sweet time walking past him. He flinched when her tail ran up his side. Lucy giggled, breaking into a run before diving back into the river. She broke the surface spinning around flashing him a beaming smile then disappeared beneath the surface once again.
Pine had to sit down.
He watched the river, a paw over his heart feeling its gentle beat. Itd been but for a moment, a single fraction amongest an infinity of pain.
Seeing that smile made it all go away.
To be continued...
