Avenging Angel

Chapter 11

"Ang? Are you okay?", Lucy said timidly after Elijah had left.

"I'm fine Chen. Just give me a minute to catch my breath."

Her statement enveloped Lucy in an overwhelming sense of fear. Angela only called her Chen when something was wrong or out of formality. She also noticed the lack of a sarcastic remark. Angela was hurt. She had done nothing to stop it. Angela had only been thinking how this was all her fault and that Lucy was going to hate her for getting her caught up in the middle of her drama with Elijah. She was also thinking how Tim was going to kill her for getting Lucy in to all of this mess. She was also thinking about what else Elijah had in store. He wasn't going to toy with her forever.

"Ang, you don't have to act like your okay. It's just me."

"I said I'm fine Chen!"

Angela knew she had already lost Lucy. If Lucy didn't hate her by the end of this, Tim would. She knew he would never forgive her if anything happend to Lucy. Might as well go ahead and cut the ties now and make her think that she no longer cared. Lucy however, knew that Angela blamed herself for all of this. Though she wasn't quite sure why she wasn't letting her in. She knew that they could get through this together. She couldn't help but wonder if Tim even knew she was missing yet and if he would come to save them. She knew Wesley would burn the world down to get Angela. Hell he proved that with La Fiera. If Wesley is coming for Angela, then by default they would find her too. That was her only saving grace, she thought.

Angela was hurting. She knew he had at the very least cracked a rib, and her face was still throbbing in pain. She had worked her way back down to a sitting position and just tried to stay as still as possible. She decided the best course of action currently was to try to rest.

It didn't feel like it had been that long, when Elijah came back in the room. Lucy sprang back up as much as possible to see what was happening. Elijah said nothing he would point to one and then the other as if he was trying to decide who he was going to deal with first. He was just toying with them. This was all a game and it was rigged for him to win. He pointed at Lucy and stopped.

"Officer Chen. You get to play first.", he said sounding sickeningly sweet.
"No! Take me!," Angela screamed quickly making him turn his head.

He grinned.

"Now we are talking.", he said nonchalantly.
