The fleet of over ten thousand ships of the Coven of the Eternal Abyss gathers in the Ixigo System. A part of the Zagorn Sector, which is a part of the Hexaria Imperia, the system and the sector are realms of Trinity Arachne, the Weaver of Fate, who rules the Coven. The Trinity of Terror is the body of three that rules Hexaria Imperia. Their Choas covena are the largest in the Imperia which is a state made up of witch covens that serve as vessels of the three, Trinity Covens. The Ixigo Fleet is a combination of fleets from the entire Zagorn Sector. Built around Trinity Arachne's flagship, a former Imperial Grand Cruiser now turned to Chaos named the Devouring Darkness. The fleet awaits the arrival of their leader and her escort, who will make up the core of its strength since, in reality, most of the ships are troop carriers and supply vessels.
Trinity Arachne is traveling to the Hexaria Imperia capital world of Teminvron IX, where the Undivided Palace stands. From here, the Trinity rules their sectors and, thus, the whole of the Imperia. Within its borders, psykers who have fully embraced the way of the witch reign supreme. Here, those born without the touch of the Warp or very little of it are little more than cattle. Most are slaves of the state allowed to live only so they can work or be used as fuel for the rituals of their witch masters. Now, the time has finally come as the call of Chaos's chosen Warmaster, Abaddon the Despoiler, has gone out calling for every loyal servant of Chaos to reveal themselves, to join his Thirteenth Black Crusade and set the galaxy ablaze to usher in a damned new age where the True Gods reign. The entirety of the Hexaria Imperia has mustered to answer this call, forming three massive fleets and billions of servants of the True Gods to bring the light of Chaos to the galaxy as a whole and the Imperium of Man, who are their mortal enemies, in particular. Launching from three staging systems, they will strike out like a tide in all directions to gift world after world with the touch of Nurgle, the rage of Khorne, the pleasure of Slaanesh, and the change of Tzeentch.
Dread Fleet Thunderbolt, made up of two hundred new digistructed vessels and carrying thirty thousand Dreadmarines, sliced from the screaming Warp into the Ixigo System. Led by Captain Arc Thane, the fleet engages without warning, catching the part of the coven fleet over the world of Arkior Diablo first. The three thousand coven ships there were torn to pieces by the smaller but a thousand times more lethal Dread Fleet armed with the same terrifying weapons that the Wrathful Fall bears on a smaller scale. They also took a play from the vicious Tyranid Hive Fleets. Casting their version of a Shadow in the Warp, much like the intergalactic monsters do when they descend on a star system. They call it the Silent Veil. The ships of the Dread Fleet radiate waves of Warp disrupting energy that drive the weakest of the psykers mad and drive the demons at the heart of many of their cursed vessels mad.
Captain Thane showed no mercy as his fleet burned this part of the coven fleet out of the skies of Arkior Diablo. Faster, tougher, and stronger, Fleet Thunderbolt didn't take a single casualty as they ripped through a much larger Chaos fleet like plasma through wet paper. The troop transports use drop beams to deliever five thousand Dreadmarines to strategic points on the surface of Arkior Diablo, where Khorne is the primary deity.
The cultists who had gathered around the landing fields to be taken into space where they would take horror and violence to world after world found themselves facing doom as the Dreadmarines waded into them with Bolter, blade, and pariah psyker powers. Even with the voice of the Blood God in their minds and power in their souls, they were no match for this force of dual natures. Bolt, bullet, plasma, psyker powers, and even demons did nothing to stop this new and terrifying version of the Emperor's Angels of Death. They marched through onslaughts that would have felled entire mortal armies, but the Dreadmarines are beyond mortal, beyond transhuman. They are living anti-life dedicated to the revival of mankind. They march across the world, unleashing wrath and purifying it with the darkness of the Emperor's rage, which grows in power as it devours the tainted light of Chaos.
In space, the Coven of the Eternal Abyss tries to regroup to turn and face Fleet Thunderbolt, but as its name suggests, the Dread Fleet hits fast and hard, annihilating ship after ship and leaving ruin and Dreadmarines in their wake. With three-quarters of its strength shattered, the remaining coven fleet flees the system, leaving it to its fate. The Dreadmarines unleashed on every inhabited world and satellite breaking the grip of Chaos in the Ixigo System for the first time in over seven thousand years. They are only one of three fleets invading the Hexaria Imperia. Ending plans of invasion and retribution thousands of years in the making before they can ever see the light of day. Wrath and dread have come to Imperia, and even their gods cannot save them.
