To say that once the deal was struck, Sullivan took his new kin and all but hightailed it back to the Netherworld, would be an understatement. He didn't want to be cruel or selfish here despite his nature. But he had so much to do!

First thing was first, he needed to have Ichigo sign adoption papers to make things even more official. Sure, he had already had her sire do so, but the papers needed her signature too to indicate her willingness to be adopted by him.

Then once that was done, there would be pictures for his millionth scrapbook to mark the specialness of the occasion. Then he would have to fix a bedroom up for her. Which would also have to include clothing, toiletries, and other things that young lady needed.

Then he would have to enroll her in Babyls School as a first year since the new school year was about to begin and she would need an education as more than just a human. And going to school at Babyls meant that she would be getting the best education that there was.

Call him biased, but as the principal of the school, he could honestly say that it was the best school in the entirety of the Netherworld. There was also the fact that he would always be nearby to help her if it was necessary. Which it likely would be considering how little she already knew about the Netherworld and its people.

But most of those that she ran into/met/befriended would likely think her just sheltered from the darker side of the Netherworld's goings on. Which was fine.

Besides...he knew that she would look adorable in the school's uniform, and he wanted pictures of that as well.

He was so lost in his own thoughts that he didn't even realize that she had been trying to get his attention until he felt very noticeable tug on his tail since he had used it to secure her before vanishing back to the Netherworld. Turning his head, he glanced back at her and see what it was she was doing.

The second that she had his attention, he heard her ask him where they were going. But because they were no longer in the human world, he had reverted his language back to the language of demons.

But she didn't understand him when he replied.

It was something that he hadn't thought of before, but the language barrier would prove problematic if it persisted. So, he used a spell on her so that she could understand what he said from that point on. Which made communication much easier for them both since he was finally able to explain that he was taking her to his mansion.

She was startled by the fact that he lived in a mansion to begin with. But once they got close enough to his home for him to point it out to her, he heard her exclaim. "It's a frigging castle!"

Eliciting a chortle of amusement from him as he inwardly preened with pride. After all, he had a magnificent home. And he also knew that it was only natural that the full magnitude of her sire's request of him hadn't really sunk into her mind yet. She was after all a child of very humble beginnings. So naturally, he was secretly looking forward to seeing how she would adapt to being one of his kin and a person of prominence in the Netherworld overnight.

He was already betting that she was going to keep him on his toes for quite some time.

Upon reaching his mansion, he maneuvered her into a large and spacious room and over to a massive throne-like chair where he gently pushed her down so that she was sitting and then knelt in front of her as he took hold of both of her hands in his and said, "Please do me the honor of be my granddaughter!"

The look of surprise on her face was delightful as well as amusing. Yet even so, it wasn't an answer so he kept talking in the hopes of overwhelming her.

"I've always wanted a grandchild, and I promise to spoil the hell out of you and be the best grandfather ever! You'll want for nothing, and you'll even be fulfilling an old man's dying wish! Please, please, please!"

"Whoa, calm down." She said as he turned on the water works. "There's no need for tears or a tantrum!" He paused his crying, but only long enough to sniffle and look pitiful to her as she warily asked, "Is that what you decided on to fulfill my dad's request? That I'd be your grandkid?"

"Yes."

"I see." She said as she took a moment to think. Probably weighing the pros and cons of agreeing before finally saying, "You know...I think that would be cool."

He instantly perked up, all tears stopping automatically as she smiled at him warmly. "I've never had an actual grandpa before... But are you sure that that's what you want?" She asked, almost as if she didn't believe that he wanted this.

After all, he had been summoned and it was simply part of a deal that he'd made with her dad. To her knowledge, that didn't really mean that he actually wanted to be her grandpa. The position within his life was merely a means to an end. A way for him to keep up his end of the bargain.

It kind of blew him away that she would even ask him what he wanted. Especially since other people had never bothered to think of what he wanted once a deal was struck.

Was that kindness of hers something that she had inherited from her time growing up among humans? He wondered, already internally squealing like a fangirl over her sweetness.

"Yes. it's what I really want." He said as he quickly produced the paper needed to make things official and adopt her into his family. She blinked at them but signed it after taking a moment or so to read it. After that was done, he took the paper from her held it up so that he could see it better.

Taking a second to ooh and aww over it, he then made it disappear and a camera magically appeared in his grasp. After that, Ichigo got to observe something interesting.

His speed at taking pictures of her was incredible! Honestly, she couldn't track his movements very well. So, she decided to simply stay very still and let him do as he pleased. It took about ten minutes but finally he finished up taking pictures of her and made the camera disappear and then cleared his throat before saying, "Those will look good in the scrap book." He clapped his hands and the room suddenly changed around them, startling her.

She yelped as the chair that she'd been sitting in vanished from underneath her and she felt herself bounce a few times on something soft and was disgruntled to find that she was now on a bed covered in crimson silk sheets with black trim. Blinking, she pushed herself up and quickly looked around, taking note of some of the other changes that had occurred in the room.

The room had been transformed by Sullivan's magic into a spacious and lavish bedroom fit for a queen. She scrambled off of the bed so that she could explore a bit. Leaving him to stand quietly while she looked around for several minutes before hesitantly asking her, "Do you like it?"

"Uh. It's very generous but isn't it a bit much?" She asked worriedly once she finished looking over the titles on the bookshelf next to the big hard wood desk.

"Well, not really," He said with a shrug. "I know that you likely aren't used to living so...lavishly. But you will simply have to get used to it. You will have nothing but the best of everything from this point on. Books, games, toys, food, clothing, weapons, trinkets, money- all you have to do is ask and they will be yours."

On some level Ichigo had known that Sullivan would go above and beyond for her, and not just because of the deal that he and her dad had made. But that didn't mean that she was very comfortable with having so much of his power at her disposal in such a way since she wasn't exactly used to being spoiled.

After all, she wasn't a lazy homebody. She liked working and being useful instead of simply having things handed to her. She took pride in that part of her personality and her character. Though she wasn't entirely sure how she would go about working in the Netherworld at least not without being discovered as a half human, anyway.

"I appreciate that Sull-" She started to call him by his name, but stopped abruptly when he gave her a reproachful look that caused her to flounder for a second before blurting out, "Grandpa."

She saw his pointed ears twitch the second that she called him grandpa, and nearly groaned from mortification as he let out a fan-girl like shriek of happiness and quickly scampered over to her and wrapped his arms around her and begged. "Say it again! Say it again!"

"Uh, o-okay. G-Grandpa."

He made a weird, happy sound and started rubbing his cheek against one of her own in an affectionate manner that left her feeling bewildered as she mused to herself, Are you proud of yourself pop? You put me in the hands of someone just like you.

At least she would know how to handle him if things ever got out of hand.

He paused his affectionate cheek rubbing, and seemed to regain his senses and then cleared his throat. "Ah, one last thing before I let you settle in for the night," He spoke in such a serious tone that she couldn't help but pay attention automatically. "The new school year begins tomorrow and since you need to be trained on how to use some of your abilities- I've decided that you should attend Babyls high school for demons."

"Eh?" She said unintelligibly, unable to believe what he had just said. Especially since she was eighteen and had graduated high school already.

Still...he went on to explain his reasoning in the hopes that she would understand.

"I know that this will not be ideal for you, considering your age and the fact that you've likely already graduated human school. But I assure you, you will fit in better than you think since demon children age differently from humans and many of the new kids that will be in attendance will be the same age as you."

She blinked, still not knowing what to think of this development as he went on to grin at her as he said, "Oh, and one more thing-" He snapped his fingers and a bunch of stuff appeared over by the desk in a poof of smoke. Taking a moment to look the stuff over, it didn't take her long to realize that it was a mountain of school supplies. Both the pinkish colored, skirted school uniform and the ton of books stacked behind it tended to give it away.

However, before she could say anything about any of it, he handed her a weird looking thing that he claimed was an alarm clock and told her what time she needed to set it for and then he skipped out of the room and closed the door firmly behind him.

Leaving her to her own vices for time being.

Sullivan was so happy with the events that had happened earlier in the evening. How could he not be? Never in a million years had he ever expected to be summoned for the sole purpose of taking his favorite hybrid human as his grandchild! He was so giddy that he could barely contain himself.

Not even the fact that Opera met him right outside of Ichigo's bedroom door with a look of disapproval on his face as he said, "You could have adopted every child in the Netherworld, yet you decided on a human."

"What can I say? There's something special about this one." He said, as if that explained everything. Granted Opera wasn't aware of the fact that he had adopted the girl that the two of them had been watching these long years- but he'd find out the why of things in the morning. Until then, he'd simply leave his companion hanging.

"Sir...just what are you up to?" Opera finally asked in an exasperated tone. His cat ear twitching slightly in annoyance.

Sullivan merely smiled at him and put a finger to his lips and said gently, "You'll understand one day." And then ended the conversation by skipping off before Opera could say or ask anything off.
