Chapter 7: First Day
/
Being a captain wasn't necessarily easy.
Well, apart from the paperwork, logistics, meetings, inventories, reports, and all the stuff that came with his role, there were other things he had to manage…
And simulations had never taught him how to handle these kinds of things.
One of which was happening right now.
Momo gave him an amused look, holding back a giggle, which earned her a withering glare from her vod.
"Uh… Alright then… Alpha, you come with me, we'll see about getting something sorted for the rest of you with the principal as soon as we can."
There was a collective groan, as the troopers who weren't called looked disappointed, having hoped to be chosen for the first day of school…
Well, all except for the members of Alpha. The seven troopers of the Alpha squad, as well as the three survivors of Beta, who had been combined, stepped forward, saluting, their shiny, clean armor gleaming in the morning sun.
"We are ready to go, Captain.", reported Hope, to which Lock nodded.
"We leave in five minutes, make sure to grab some ponchos, we don't have any buses available. We'll be walking."
Momo spoke up, immediately contradicting him.
"Mom provided us a limousine and a driver to transport us. You won't need ponchos."
"Understood, vod.", replied Hope.
Lock turned to Momo, a slight smile on his lips.
"Are you ready?"
The raven-haired girl returned his smile.
"Yep! Ready!", she even jumped into the air, fist raised to the sky, eliciting a few laughs from the clones gathered by her burst of excitement. The screech of tires in front of the mansion's gate signaled that the limousine had arrived, and after quick goodbyes, Lock, Momo, and the members of the Alpha and Beta squads, who had been combined, departed, boarding the limousine after reassuring the driver that no, he wasn't being taken hostage by 15-year-olds in armor and armed with futuristic rifles. The limousine started and drove away…
Inside, the clones were uncomfortable.
"Kriff… I'm not used to traveling like this… Feels like a senator's ship…" Neex sighed, keeping his RPS-6 on his lap, the driver having refused to put it in the trunk out of fear it might explode, forcing the AT Trooper to disarm the rocket launcher and take it with him. The driver in question glanced confusedly through the rearview mirror, and Midnight elbowed him in the ribs. Neex's eyes widened behind his helmet, realizing what he had just said. But the driver didn't push further, refocusing on the road. Momo took a remote, searched for a button, and pressed it. A transparent glass, soundproof, slid between the passenger compartment and the driver.
"Kriff Neex…" Warden sighed, facepalming…
"Sorry, it slipped… No, really, I'm not used to traveling in such comfort. The bus was alright last time, but this…"
"No one's used to it…" Lock sighed, adjusting the red tie of his uniform. Momo remained silent…
"Sure, LAATs don't provide this kind of comfort. Sithspit, talking about it makes me nostalgic…"
The clones fell silent… Momo had already noticed this behavior when they traveled from their country house to the mansion. They were really uncomfortable. As soldiers, she knew they must have been transported in confined, cramped, crowded vehicles designed without the soldiers' well-being in mind. No need to go far; she knew it was the same here. And she didn't need to be in the army or have extensive knowledge to know she was right.
"Has everyone set their weapon to 'Stun' and engaged their safety?"
After a quick and expert check, the others responded affirmatively.
"What do you think, vod, will Lock and you be in the same class?" Ock asked, addressing Momo. The raven-haired girl pondered a moment…
"I don't know… We have a 50/50 chance. The hero course only has two classes, so it's 50/50. But it wouldn't change much, I think. We'll still have chances to see each other."
Lock nodded… And Omen was about to speak…
"Omen, please no.", pleaded Mirdip, and the former fell silent.
They arrived fairly quickly, and the vehicle stopped at a secondary entrance, reserved for special guests. Momo, being a recommended student, was entitled to this privilege.
The driver dropped them off and drove away, and Momo watched the limousine until it disappeared from her view.
Meanwhile, Lock briefed Alpha squad, who listened to the orders in silence, paying close attention. They were on a school campus, so the captain explained their directives and how they should conduct themselves... The raven-haired girl waited patiently for her vod to finish explaining what he had to say before speaking.
"Let's go, we're early, but we shouldn't dawdle. We'll sort everything out with the principal at the end of orientation."
"Understood.", her vod and his 'copies' said in unison, and the group set off...
It was quite esoteric... Two kids in UA student uniforms, followed by other kids in white armor and armed with futuristic weapons, strolling through a school...
This drew looks from students who were already there, and small whispers, some of disgust at these... clones, others of surprise or admiration at their equipment.
"What class are you in, or did you find any informations?", Momo asked as she found her way around the school, following signs put up here and there for the first day of school. "I don't know, didn't saw any info for now, we'll have to see. Isn't it down there?" Lock pointed to a hallway they had just passed, where a sign marked 'Hero Classes' was posted. Momo immediately turned back without even stopping to look at the sign.
"Yes, it's this way."
A few clones chuckled.
"Good thing the captain was there, or we'd be going in circles. Like with Mirdip every time he's given a map.", Neex whispered to Midnight, before a smack to the back of both their heads made them yelp in surprise.
"I heard you.", said the flametrooper corporal, passing between the two, who were now busy rubbing the backs of their heads after removing their helmets.
"That hurt!"
"You're hurting my feelings.", Mirdip replied sarcastically. The raven-haired girl looked at them, holding back a small laugh at their crestfallen expressions, before Lock restored order... There were two signs on two large doors, both marked with the letters and numbers '1-A' and '1-B,' painted large and red. Two lists had been posted on the door, with the list of students. Lock approached the first door and looked at the list on it, searching for his name...
'STUDENT LIST FOR CLASS 1-B:
Awase Yosetsu
Kaibara Sen
Kamakiri Togaru
Kuroiro Shihai
Kendo Itsuka
Kodai Yui
Komori Kinoko
Shiozaki Ibara
Shishida Jurota
Shoda Nirengeki
Tsunotori Pony
Tsuburaba Kosei
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu
Tokage Setsuna
Fukidashi Manga
Honenuki Juzo
Bondo Kojiro
Monoma Neito
Yanagi Reiko
Rin Hiryu'
"I'm not in 1-B, and neither are you, so we're both in 1-A.", Lock noted, which Momo confirmed a few seconds later... The captain sighed in relief...
Even though it didn't change much except that they wouldn't be in the same class, Lock always preferred to be by Momo's side. She was his vod after all, just like the rest of his brothers-in-arms. The captain turned away from the door and stood next to Momo to quickly look at the list... He didn't recognize anyone... except three...
"Todoroki... Todoroki... Isn't that Endeavor's?" Hope asked, as his gaze also stopped on the name.
"That's right... He's Endeavor's son... I've met him before at the entrance exam. He's not someone friendly... From what I've seen of him, I'd say he's rather disdainful or cold towards other people..."
Momo said, recalling the interaction that had occurred with the other participant... The boy with the wind quirk.
"I see the type...", grumbled Midnight.
"Shouldn't we avoid having him interact with Jak in that case? If he's as cold as a block of ice... Jak's not going to handle that well.", remarked Ock. Lock let his men debate and continued to look at the names... Uraraka and Midoriya... Yes, he remembered now.
The two at the entrance exam... when he went to get Focus and Warden. Izuku was the one the two had trained... Well, he wouldn't say anything, Warden's surprise would be complete. Momo also seemed to have noticed the two names but said nothing. The raven-haired girl opened the door and entered, followed by Lock and Alpha squad, who continued to debate...
The clone captain immediately noticed three people who were already present.
A boy with two-tone hair, one part red and one part white, with heterochromia such that his left eye was gray and his right eye was blue, and the right side of his face marked by a burn. From the cold aura he emitted and from what Momo had said, Lock guessed this was Todoroki Shoto. The son of Endeavor in question. And indeed, it would probably be best to avoid having him and Jak in the same room. He didn't even react when they entered, not deigning to give them a single glance.
A boy with a bird head who looked at them as they entered but said nothing, even though his gaze lingered on the weapons his vods carried, before murmuring something about a... banquet of darkness? Lock didn't attempt to figure out what that meant...
And finally, a boy with a head resembling a rock, his eyes slightly fearful of his brothers' arsenal. He said nothing, but noticing Lock's gaze on him, he made a timid wave... which Lock returned with a friendly smile.
The group went to the back and stayed there. Only their voices could be heard as they talked about everything and nothing, waiting for the rest of their class to arrive... And gradually, it filled up. For most of the students, when they entered, they were surprised to see a group of child soldiers, and for those who had seen them during the exam, to see them again...
Lock watched them, studying them, Hope started a debate with Momo about the role of religion in politics... The rest of the squad had fallen silent to listen... Until the debate took a completely different direction... And somehow, from the role of religion in politics, they ended up discussing the Olympic Games... And the rest of the squad joined in this time, arguments flying back and forth within their group.
Meanwhile, Lock, who was only half-listening to the discussion, watched the class fill up gradually, with more students arriving. Some looked at them with surprise, like in the hallways, recognizing them, or seeing them for the first time...
Many different appearances and statures. Not that Lock wasn't used to it, after all, the galaxy was filled with strange species, but seeing the human species mutate like this was strange. Some people developed darker skin that allowed them to withstand better hot environments, others developed a resistance to cold, others a sharper vision, and so on. But seeing a human with a tail, a human with pink skin and yellow horns, the bird boy, and more, was... surprising.
Meanwhile, his vods had moved on to a debate in which his vod had nothing to say, not understanding exactly what they were talking about, so Momo approached and whispered to him, noticing his gaze.
"Quirks are something as strange as they are interesting, with plenty of studies being done to try and understand where they came from... I imagine this must be unusual for you... like everything, actually."
The clone captain nodded slowly, his eyes distant.
"It's unusual and surprising, that I can say, but I've seen stranger things. The only thing that unsettles me is the mutations caused by it. The Jedi mastered the Force, little was known about it, but what is certain is that it didn't cause as many physiological changes..."
Momo nodded...
"Evolution. That's the only answer to it."
Lock chuckled.
"Yeah..."
The door opened again, and someone entered... to immediately shout...
"WARDEN!"
/
"WARDEN!"
The clone in question turned the head, surprised, to see who it was... Lock didn't even need to see his face to see the smile that lit up his brother's face as he approached Izuku. The two approached and shook hands firmly.
"You bastard. You scared me!"
Izuku laughed heartily.
"Sorry... Did you really think a superficial wound was going to take me down?"
"I remind you that you were lying on a stretcher when Focus and I arrived."
Izuku rubbed the back of his neck...
"Yeah... True... Speaking of Focus, isn't he here?" asked the green-haired boy, looking at the other armored teens who were watching him attentively, before his gaze fell on Lock and Momo.
"Oh, hello to both of you. I'm sorry, I didn't see you...", said Izuku, bowing. Momo waved off the apology. And Lock just nodded.
"It's not a problem."
Then Warden spoke up again.
"Negative, only Alpha squad was requisitioned today. Focus is in...", the clone paused briefly, seeming hesitant, "Delta."
Izuku seemed to notice the brief hesitation before giving the name, betrayed by the slight narrowing of his eyes, but said nothing. The two remained silent for a moment, with a slight tension in the air...
"Well, I understand. Who are the others?" asked Izuku, changing the subject, deducing it might be something difficult to talk about, and looking at the others.
"They are the rest of Alpha squad, my squad. Come, I'll introduce you to them."
And Warden pulled a very surprised Izuku with him, before disappearing into the middle of the group of armored teenagers...
/
Lock's attention was drawn once again to the door opening, and his eyes narrowed dangerously, like those of a predator, when the person entered...
Oh...
He wasn't about to forget the insult this boy had hurled at him about not being worthy of the family he had... He felt his rage boiling in his veins just by looking at him... The boy with blue hair met his gaze and almost mechanically turned to come toward him. Lock prepared to launch a biting response to whatever he had to say.
"It's you!" and Lock was ready to respond, "I apologize for last time! I got a bit carried away and judged you too quickly! I should have weighed my words. What you did during the exam was extremely heroic.", and he bowed.
Lock's rage disappeared in an instant, so surprised was he by the boy's action. He was even left speechless.
"Uh... I... It's not a problem...", the captain replied, quickly recovering from his surprise... The boy straightened up, standing like a rod, before extending a hand.
"My name is Iida Tenya, I ask that we start over from scratch, we got off on the wrong foot."
Lock accepted the extended hand.
"Yaoyorozu Lock, pleased to meet you. It's also partly my fault; I should have instructed my men not to cause any trouble... You ran into Jak, the hothead of the company."
"I was wrong to associate that temperament with yours."
/
Momo stayed a bit on the side, smiling, happy to see that her vods were able to get along with others. For Lock, it was normal; he was supposed to be the 'real' creator of the other clones and their advanced equipment, thus potentially being a main and strong link between the students and the supposed 'copies'. Midoriya Izuku, on the other hand, was better integrated thanks to the bond of friendship and camaraderie he seemed to share with Warden and Focus, the latter being something surprising given how his vod was usually reserved.
Ah, no, maybe three after all.
Uraraka Ochako, who seemed to have gotten along well with Midoriya and whose eyes were filled with gratitude towards the boy, approached the group with a bit of hesitation and some shyness in front of the group of teenagers clad in armor. She had also met Warden, even if briefly, at least she could put a name to at least one person. To the brunette's great surprise, she was promptly invited to join them, and after the clones introduced themselves, she was encouraged to come out of her shell by the clones.
For now, she was ensuring that everything went well for her vods on the first day of their new school year. But obviously, if her vods were starting to socialize, there was bound to be someone to become an enemy.
It all started when the door was violently opened, screeching as it slid on the floor, followed by a shout of anger and indignation.
"DEKU!"
All eyes turned to the boy standing in the doorway. A boy with spiky ash-blonde hair and two furious red eyes glaring daggers at the green-haired boy.
He was wearing the UA uniform but seemed unconcerned about neatness as the top buttons of his jacket were undone. Everything about his stance showed that he was furious, outraged, and indignant.
"Ka-Kacchan...", murmured Midoriya, his eyes quickly filling with pure fear.
"YOU DAMN EXTRA! HOW DOES A QUIRKLESS LIKE YOU GET IN HERE!", shouted the boy, taking two steps forward, small explosions forming at his palms. However, as soon as he took those two steps, a veritable wall of white armor with yellow and green markings stood between the green-haired boy (and also the brunette, though she didn't seem to be the target of the boy's rage) and him. Only Warden stood by Midoriya.
The boy's eyes showed a flicker of surprise, but it quickly disappeared, replaced by renewed anger and rage.
"YOU! BUNCH OF EXTRAS! I REMEMBER YOU! YOU THINK YOU'RE IMPRESSIVE WITH YOUR WEAPONS AND ARMOR, BUT YOU'RE WORTHLESS!"
/
Warden cursed internally. As many times as Izuku had talked to them about Bakugo Katsuki, and as much as Focus and he had tried to teach him to control his fear when talking about the boy, with, despite all this, his hope that he would change one day, they hadn't managed to make Izuku understand that it might not be possible.
"Kriff... Calm down, Izuku, he won't hurt you, we're here. Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out. Calm down like we taught you."
Uraraka stood there, unsure of what to do, before asking.
"I... Can I do something?" Izuku was breathing rapidly, dominated by his fear, eyes fixed on Bakugo. Warden touched him, and Izuku immediately recoiled.
"Stay here, he saved you, didn't he? And he seems to get along with you despite having only met you briefly.", the clone then turned to the wall of armor, calling out.
"Midnight, we need you."
The medic turned his head and left the line to crouch beside the green-haired boy.
"A big emotional shock, the entry of that other di'kut hit him hard. Got any info?", the medic clone asked Warden.
"Yeah, they have a history, and not a good one."
The medic clone grunted under his helmet.
"I see.", he then looked at Uraraka, and the girl didn't need to see Midnight without his helmet to know the serious expression he wore under it, an expression that translated into his voice when he spoke.
"I need both of you to stay next to him to reassure him. It's the only way to get him through this."
The medic clone's gaze returned to Warden.
"You'll need to give me all the details. We're not far from a panic attack, and it's not normal to have such a reaction at his age. He should consider consulting a psychologist."
With that, the medic clone focused on Izuku and began speaking to him softly, while Uraraka and Warden stayed close. The clone was worried, very worried for his friend. He knew he had a history with the explosive blonde, but not... to that extent to cause such a reaction.
Suddenly, someone cleared his throat.
/
"I'm impressed by your ability to recognize uselessness, especially given that you are the very embodiment of it.", remarked Lock. He had turned away from his conversation with Iida, the glasses-wearing boy also noticing the problem, but Lock had been the first to say something. He advanced with a neutral expression on his face before continuing.
"You're like a dog. You bark, you show your teeth. But you can't do anything. You threaten. Not in the literal sense, but I've seen that look before. It's vain, and even pathetic.", Lock pointed a finger directly at him as he spoke the last five words, which only served to further anger the boy. Lock recognized him. The grumpy boy who had spoken to the green-haired boy and the brunette at the entrance exam...
And apparently, it wasn't just bad mood; what he had in front of him wasn't something often seen within the Clone army, but he knew how to recognize psychological pressure based on threats and blows when he saw it. It was harassment.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY, IDIOT?"
Iida then intervened.
"Your behavior is not worthy of a student of this institution! Speaking like that is not permitted by the regulations."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY, FOUR-EYES? YOU WANT ME TO WIPE YOU OFF THE FACE OF THIS PLANET?!" shouted the boy, the explosions growing stronger.
"He's right. This isn't the behavior of someone who is supposed to become a hero.", Lock was pleased that Momo joined in to support. Now, there were about ten of them against him, his brothers growling in exasperation and aggression, still forming a wall in front of an extremely nervous Midoriya.
/
Aizawa crawled like a caterpillar to his classroom door, wrapped in his yellow sleeping bag, barely awake from his nap... That year, he had quite a diverse group...
And filled with problem children...
And what he heard from the other side of the large door did nothing to lighten his mood. He opened the door slipping a hand out of the sleeping bag to open it, entering the room after.
He raised an eyebrow.
The whole class was absorbed in an altercation between several students. Bakugo Katsuki seemed to be arguing with the two Yaoyorozus and Iida Tenya, then his eyes narrowed when he saw the wall of armor and faces hidden by T-visored helmets between Bakugo and...
Two other students and two clones. Midoriya seemed to have been the victim of the blonde's anger, and another student, Uraraka, seemed confused about what to do but stayed next to the green-haired boy, one of the two clones, the one with a bag with a red symbol, seemed to be speaking softly to the boy, while the other stayed there, merely trying to reassure the green-haired boy with his presence.
Shota decided he would look into this story later and planted himself behind his desk, remaining in his sleeping bag, watching the altercation without intervening...
A minute passed.
Two minutes.
Three minutes passed before he grew exasperated and loudly cleared his throat. All eyes turned to him in less than a second, and some stifled cries of surprise.
"Find a seat and sit down.", ordered Shota dryly. Most complied quickly, others took more time for various reasons...
The son of the Iida family preferred to check if his green-haired classmate was okay before going to sit down.
The two Yaoyorozus also took a bit more time to sit down, Yaoyorozu Lock first needing to solve a seating issue, the classroom not being designed to accommodate additional people, and ordered his clones to stay in the back without making noise, Yaoyorozu Momo talking to two other clones about something before they nodded.
Bakugo Katsuki complied, but not before growling aggressively at the armored teens, then stomped off, boiling with rage, to an available desk.
Midoriya and Uraraka stayed in the back, the former slowly recovering from the shock, which Shota allowed by not saying anything, while the girl...
"Uraraka Ochako, please go sit down."
She looked at him, and he saw that her expression was conflicted.
"I asked her to stay.", said the clone with the bag, turning his head. Shota raised an eyebrow at him.
"I'm a medic.", explained the clone. Shota knew the saying... Never argue with a doctor or a nurse... Chiyo was a perfect example of that... But one thing puzzled him.
'A medic? At this age? I knew the boy's quirk allowed him to create clones and equipment to equip them... But a medic? I'll need to ask Chiyo to check their abilities...'
But he digressed, he returned to look at his class with a stern gaze.
"Three minutes. And I had to intervene to get your attention. Three minutes during which villains could have committed crimes. Three minutes during which a building could have collapsed, three minutes during which hundreds of civilians could have died. Children, adults, the elderly, men or women. And you come here to become future heroes?"
He saw several of his students lower their eyes, others redden with shame. And some took it without flinching. Shota was surprised by Lock's gaze... As if... The boy with the cloning quirk knew what he was talking about... The tired teacher wondered what was wrong with this boy... Or what he had seen in his short life.
"I am Aizawa Shota, code name Eraserhead, but call me Aizawa-Sensei, and I will be your homeroom teacher for the year. Now, get up and quietly head to the locker rooms, then outside."
Uraraka spoke up.
"But... What about the orientation?"
Some other students also expressed concern about this, and Shota, who was about to leave, slowly turned his head before responding in a flat voice.
"I have no use for those pointless ceremonies. Do you think knowing what you want to do next year will help you stop villains and save civilians? No, I don't think so."
"But..." someone began.
"No buts," Shota cut off, before leaving the classroom.
The students looked at each other in confusion, all except for four. The blonde seemed completely indifferent, Endeavor's son showed nothing, while Momo and Lock exchanged a glance, nodding in agreement. They stood up together, and then Momo barked an order in a tone that left no room for discussion—a tone that had surprised many of her vods the first time she used it. They had teased her for a while afterward, saying she was becoming just like Lock. Even though it was rare for her to use this authority.
"Virr and Mirdip, you will temporarily detach from the squad. Go to this orientation meeting and report back what was said. Go!"
The two clones in question nodded and hurried out of the class. Lock then gave his own orders.
"Alpha Squad, follow me in single file. Warden, Midnight, help Midoriya if he needs it."
The green-haired boy had somewhat recovered from his shock and murmured something about not needing help, but a flick from Warden followed by an exchange between the two resulted in Izuku allowing Midnight the right to stop whatever their homeroom teacher had planned for them if he deemed it detrimental to his well-being. With that, the rest of the 'copies' responded affirmatively, and they all left in good order.
Lock, before leaving the class, turned to the surprised and still unreactive class.
"In my opinion, you better move quickly if you don't want to get scolded by the teacher."
As if that triggered a switch, the class sprang into action, getting up in a cacophony of chairs scraping the floor as the students hurried to move.

The processors of 142 compared their current geographical position to the map that 823, 824, and 589 had acquired in their recent raid of a tourist agency. They were located in one of the city's most infamous districts, and it was Giran himself who had asked them to come.
He and three others—732, 623, and 340—whom he had ordered to follow him, were now walking through the dark streets. He was dressed in his usual attire to disguise his mechanical nature, the same repeated by 623. However, 732 and 340 had decided to equip themselves with the police gear they had acquired, giving them a very intimidating appearance.
Combined with their blasters and vibroblades on their backs, they terrified most of the poor souls wandering the district.
Here, heroes and the police rarely patrolled, making it the domain of gangs and criminals.
Weapons, illicit substances, and more could be found here. The group arrived in front of an old building with a bar on the ground floor. 142 checked the coordinates; this was indeed the place. With a sharp hand and head movement, he ordered the others to follow him silently.
As they entered, silence fell in the crowded room as all eyes turned to them… particularly their armament and police equipment… Giran was sitting on a bar stool, talking to a man made mostly of smoke, though his sensors noted there was a solid, human body at the center of this smoke.
Interestingly, its cardiac frequency was zero, and its body temperature was far lower than a human's… In short, it was a corpse under the smoke. But a walking corpse, and with a chic fashion sense.
As the silence began to be noticed, Giran turned his head and saw the four machines.
"Ah! There you are!", he exclaimed, getting up from his stool and moving towards them, "Come, come, have a seat."
The gray-haired man dislodged several criminals sitting on other stools, the more reluctant ones chased away by 732 and 340, who made their optics shine menacingly behind their police helmet visors.
Once seated, 142 magnetically fixed his blaster to his leg, the magnetism working despite the layers of fabric, before leaning towards Giran and asking, switching his voice to one he had 'stolen' from a now-deceased person. Meanwhile, the other bar occupants returned to their discussions, paying no further attention to the four newcomers…
"Why did you call us here?" asked 142.
"You are here in the hideout of the newly founded League of Villains, led by Shigaraki Tomura and—"
142 made a hand gesture, ordering the man to be silent.
"I'll repeat myself… Why did you call us here?" He raised his head, his white optics fixing on Giran as his metallic fingers began tapping the bar. A slow rhythm, but betraying his impatience. Giran slightly raised his arms and leaned back, maintaining his smile.
"Calm down…"
The underworld supplier leaned on the bar before asking the smoke man.
"Black Mist, do you know if Tomura is here?"
'Black Mist' finished wiping his glass with the cloth he was holding, then placed it down and answered, his glowing yellow eyes settling on 142 and his three other companions.
"He is… slightly busy… Are these the four people you wanted him to meet?"
The gray-haired man nodded, pulling out a cigarette and placing it between his teeth.
"Yes, they're the ones who exterminated the Illusion Centurions which caused the clashes between the Reservoir Dogs and the Black Cobras."
Black Mist slowly nodded.
"I see... So you are the Horn Hunters? Giran mentioned you briefly. You could be useful for our plan."
142 remained silent for a long moment... before asking.
"What kind of plan?"
"Straight to the point, huh? I like that. That's exactly why I called you.", replied Giran with a small laugh.
"We're looking to kill the symbol of peace, All Might, who is currently in Japan. There are rumors that he might be teaching at UA High School. We've managed to infiltrate an informant, but we haven't heard from him yet. Our plan is to attack All Might with all the forces we can recruit."
142 pondered, his processors analyzing the necessity of the mission presented to him... When suddenly…
"hic! Get outta here! hic!", said a voice. 142 felt a hand grab his shoulder.
"Hey! hic! I'm talking to you!"
His audio system picked up 732, 623, and 340 tensing their joints to react. But he made a hand gesture, and the others calmed down.
"You've had too much to drink, Takesi, go sit down. I'll bring you something to sober up.", said Black Mist calmly. The man paid no attention and continued to bother 142.
"Move hic! outta here! hic! That's my spot! hic! You hear me? hic!"
The man firmly grabbed the machine's shoulder and forcefully turned him around, then grabbed the collar of his sweater and pulled him close to his face. However, the hood fell back, revealing 142's mechanical head. Everyone, except for the other three BX units, Giran, and Black Mist—whose surprise was indicated by a brief movement of smoke around his right hand—gasped.
The drunk man paused, and 142 gripped the man's wrist, twisting it and eliciting a cry of pain, before standing up, grabbing the man's shoulder and leg, lifting him above his head with ease... and throwing him onto a table. The man screamed as his body hit and overturned the table, its contents, and the two people sitting there, before continuing and crashing into another table with a tremendous crash, breaking the table leg and spilling a bowl of hot soup onto the drunk man's belly, making him howl in pain.
This time, however, the table's occupants had moved in time to avoid being knocked over.
Black Mist sighed and leaned toward Giran, handing him a wad of bills.
"You'll need to repay me for a table and some dishes..."
The underworld supplier nodded.
"Do you want me to buy sturdier ones?" Black Mist nodded.
Meanwhile, several bar occupants stood up, activating their quirks, ready to fight...
142 switched his voice to the default, mechanical and deep one. He then rose to his full height of 1.83 meters, which was 13 centimeters taller than most occupants without quirks giving them more muscle mass or mutations bringing them to his size.
"If you value your lives, it's more advantageous for you to sit back down and calm yourselves.", the mechanical voice rumbled like thunder, an effect added by 142 to appear more intimidating.
It worked, many hesitated, and sat back down... However, some chose to oppose, six of them precisely. They all wore black hoods with yellow markings and approached together. Their leader, a woman with an impressive number of rings on her fingers and an eye covered by a ruby-studded eyepatch, spoke.
"You think you can impress us with your height and technopathic quirk?"
142 turned his head to fixate on the woman in question.
"You're messing with the wrong person. It would be more beneficial for you to sit down.", the machine replied with an olympian calm.
"Who do you think you are? Our bosses?" the woman mocked, and her five accomplices snickered...
-PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW!-
In a movement of frightening speed and precision, 732, 623, and 340 pointed their weapons and shot the five accomplices on the spot. The captain, meanwhile, moved so quickly he was only a blurry silhouette for a second, ending up behind the woman before she could react.
"You were warned.", said 142 coldly, and with a fluid motion, he reached behind his back and drew his sword in a reverse grip.
-SCHLAK!-
The woman raised her trembling hands to her chest, her visible eye widening as she noticed the bloodied blade protruding from her chest, her heart impaled at the tip... Then, her eye glazed over, becoming white and milky... and her arms fell limp...
142 remained standing there, back to the woman, staring fixedly at the far wall.
"This is regrettable."
He slowly withdrew the vibroblade, and the body fell to the ground. He sheathed his blood-soaked vibroblade in his back, and pulled up his hood to conceal his head, while the other three lowered their weapons, the barrels still slightly smoking...
Just then, a door at the back of the bar opened, and a man entered. 142 turned his head, and his optics analyzed the man.
He was 20 years old, with blue hair and skin marked by scars from scratching... He wore an decaying organic hand on his face, a hand surprisingly well-preserved despite being separated from the body long ago. His red eyes, visible through the fingers of the hand and behind his hair strands, glared at everyone.
"Damn it... You guys are making such a racket... I can't even play video games in peace...", said the man.
A criminal couldn't stifle a laugh, but his laughter quickly turned into a scream of terror and pain when the man placed his five fingers on his face. The man's body disintegrated in seconds. The captain was somewhat 'surprised' and felt a certain respect, well... as close as his central processor could get, for such destruction and power.
The man's gaze then fell on the six gang members' bodies and the drunk guy sobbing from his burn.
"Black Mist, what happened here?", asked the man. Before the smoky man could respond, however, Giran spoke up.
"Ah! Tomura! Just the person I needed! Come, take a seat!"
Black Mist took out a glass, a bottle, and poured the liquid into it, handing it to Tomura as he sat on a stool. The blue-haired man scrutinized 142 and the other three, tilting his head slightly after downing the glass of alcohol in one go.
"Who are these NPCs? I've never seen them around here... A new minor faction that spawned?"
Giran responded, maintaining his smile.
"They're the Horn Hunters, the criminals I told you about and thought would be interesting to hire for the plan."
"So, it's them...", replied Tomura, narrowing his eyes to scrutinize the four, "Who exactly are you?"
The entire bar listened to the conversation, in dead silence.
"Killing machines.", responded 142 coldly, not bothering to change his voice, keeping his original...
"Killing machines, huh?" repeated Tomura, tilting his head the other way, "Did you kill those six pieces of trash?" he asked, pointing towards the six bodies still there.
"Affirmative."
"I see... Has anyone explained to you why you're here?"
142 nodded... but stood up, pushing back his stool.
"Yes. But we're not interested. This attack on the symbol of peace deviates too greatly from our primary objective. Moreover, this attack, even with your current forces, has only a 13% chance of success when comparing the data to that provided in its database, unless you have a way to match him, your defeat seems inevitable... If you manage to match him, however, your chances of success only rise to 34.2%."
The other three machines stood up as 142 passed by them, and followed him towards the exit. 142 thought he saw the arm of one of the fallen criminals move, and in doubt, he unholstered his blaster and lodged a shot, which resonated in the crushing silence of the bar, into the criminal's skull without even looking. The group exited, and the door closed behind them with a sharp slam...
/
"Your name is Lock, right? The boy with the clones?" someone asked.
Lock was finishing putting on the UA sports uniform shirt when the question was asked. He turned around and noticed that all eyes were on him... except for those of a purple-haired dwarf who seemed to be thinking about something else.
"Yes, that's me.", replied the captain in a neutral voice. An arm wrapped around his shoulder.
"Well! I'd say your clones are super tough! I ran into them during the entrance exam, damn... They really went all out! And what they did earlier in class!", exclaimed a red-haired boy, shirtless, which did not go unnoticed by Iida, who reprimanded him for his lack of modesty, using the excuse that Lock might be embarrassed...
He hadn't taken a shower in a Venator, Lock thought, amused.
"But now that I think about it, are they independent?" asked a boy with yellow hair and a black lightning bolt mark.
Lock nodded.
"Indeed, each has its own personality and consciousness. They are not puppets or marionettes as some might think.", the captain replied.
"And they can't clone themselves. In short, my clones are quirkless, just as I am currently... in a way."
"I knew it! You're just a worthless extra, like Deku!", jeered the blond, 'Kacchan'? If what he had heard from the green-haired boy was correct, who was looking at Lock and 'Kacchan' with a somewhat conflicted expression... Lock didn't respond to this remark, but instead noticed the dwarf with puffy hair approaching a wall... almost drooling... a perverse glint in his eyes...
The captain immediately saw his objective.
A hole in the wall... big enough to see through... into the girls' locker room.
Oh no, not on his watch.
The clone quickly finished putting on his T-shirt and strode over to the perverted dwarf just as he pressed his eye to the hole... Two things happened simultaneously.
-BAM!-
Lock grabbed the back of his head and slammed it against the wall with force, just as something lodged in the pervert's cheek and made him vibrate. The boy let out a strangled cry of pain, and Lock released him.
The pervert fell like a bag of potatoes, a big bump on his forehead and a mark from something... which Lock saw retracting, some kind of jack, from his cheek.
"Ouch! That hurts!", exclaimed the boy.
"Not my problem, you don't peek into the girls' locker room. Little pervert.", Lock replied coldly before leaving the locker room and heading outside. He was the first to leave the entire class and stood before the teacher, who seemed to be dozing off... The captain couldn't figure this guy out... He was strict, but seemed half-asleep half the time...
Alpha squad joined him, and silently lined up. Momo was the second to exit the locker room and joined them.
"Did you hit a student in your locker room?" she asked, raising an eyebrow and placing her hands on her hips.
"Yes.", Lock replied proudly.
"It sounded like a thunderclap from our side, you hit him pretty hard."
"Well, technically, I slammed his head into the wall, and one of your girls also stuck a jack in his cheek.", Lock responded, crossing his arms.
"Hmph... I wish I had been in your place at that moment.", Momo replied with a dark look. Lock laughed.
The other students quickly arrived, and after being thanked by the girls who wanted to, the class stood silently... facing a fully awake and alert Aizawa-Sensei.
Some of Lock's vods were jealous of this ability. It would have saved them so much trouble when droids decided to attack in the middle of the night...
"14 minutes to get ready... Too long. That means more civilians killed, injured, or villains able to escape. We will fix that..."
The tired man put a hand in his pocket and took out a ball.
"Bakugo, come here."
The blond stepped forward, confident. The teacher gave him the ball and indicated for him to stand in a white circle.
"Very well. Do you all remember the quirk power test?"
Everyone nodded.
"Good. Today we will do it again. What was your score?" asked the tired man.
"Around 700 meters." replied Bakugo.
"Alright, now, throw the ball with all your strength." The blond looked at the ball, a smile appearing on his face as he turned to the rest of the class.
"Watch closely, you extras."
And he shouted.
"DIE!" The ball shot off with a powerful explosion like a missile... falling quite far.
"705.2 meters.", Aizawa announced in a neutral voice before continuing, "As you can see, his score hasn't changed much. Your body evolves, but your quirk needs to be trained to evolve. By the end of the year, your classmate will be able to throw the ball twice or even three times as far."
The teacher explained in his neutral and tired tone before turning to the green-haired boy in the class.
"Midoriya. Come."
The greenette looked around, surprised to be called, but approached nonetheless... Aizawa handed him the ball. Behind Lock, there was a mocking laugh.
"That extra won't succeed, he's a complete failure."
"Shut up.", hissed one of the armored teens. The blond growled angrily and was about to respond, but a cold look from their teacher silenced him, even if he did it after a 'Tch'.
In the circle, Midoriya, on the other hand, raised his arm backward, preparing to throw his ball...
Internally, Warden encouraged him... The greenette then threw the ball with all his might, eliciting a cry of surprise and alarm from Midnight who noticed how his finger bent...
It was going to break...
The ball was propelled...
Up to 70 meters max.
Midoriya held back a cry of incomprehension. The class looked at Eraserhead, whose hair stood on end and whose eyes glowed red, betraying the use of his quirk.
"You're breaking your bones every time you use your quirk. Is that what you were about to do?", the man asked. The greenette slowly nodded... Warden gritted his teeth...
"Breaking your bones won't make you a hero. On the contrary, you'll be even more useless."
It felt like a punch in the stomach for the boy, Warden gritted his teeth, his brothers' helmets turning to look at him. Bakugo made a mocking sound, drawing a cold and annoyed look from Momo who had had enough of this insufferable idiot. And it was only the first day.
"Now, try again, and try not to break your bones. Otherwise, you'll be expelled."
Everyone gasped in surprise except the explosive blond whose eyes sparkled with anticipation.
'Come on, break your bones, show how useless you are Deku!'
Lock's eyes narrowed. He heard Warden grinding his teeth again... Midoriya looked again at the ball in his hand... Gaining a new composure that he had learned from Focus and Warden, he charged One For All into his finger...
He thought of the comparison he had found, an egg. If the pressure was too high, it would explode.
'An egg. My finger is like an egg. An egg. My finger is like an egg...'
Warden looked at his friend and thought.
'Come on, you can do it.'
"SMASH!" and Midoriya threw the ball. There was a deafening blast, almost as loud as a thermal detonator explosion, estimated Lock as he placed a hand in front of his face to shield himself from the dust raised. The greenette stood there, holding his hand, which was only bruised from the strain applied to it... And he turned to Aizawa.
"You... See... I don't always break my bones.", he articulated between clenched teeth.
Momo noticed that Midnight seemed to be fidgeting in place. With a sigh, she created a small ice pack before tapping the doctor's shoulder. The clone turned and she handed him the ice pack, which he quickly took and thanked her before approaching the freckled teenager. The medical clone took the hand and examined it expertly before delivering his verdict.
"You're lucky, it's just a finger sprain. It'll pass.", the doctor then handed the ice pack to the boy, "Put some ice on it. We can go see the school nurse later. She might be able to do something. I don't have finger splints specifically in the bag..."
The mediclone then escorted the boy back to the middle of the group, where Warden approached him.
"You did great, Izuku.", the clone said.
Shota turned to the class and looked at them for a few seconds. Aside from Bakugo, who was about to explode with anger and rage, the rest seemed ready to listen. He thus announced the result.
"705.3 meters."
"WHAT?! THAT DAMNED INCOMPETENT! THAT WORTHLESS WORM! THIS JERK DID MORE THAN ME?", the blond yelled, explosions forming in his hands due to his anger. The clones immediately stood ready to intervene, but as Bakugo was about to launch himself, and the clones huddled, ready to absorb the impact... Aizawa's voice rose again.
"Bakugo, detention."
The explosive blond fumed, red as a chili pepper with anger, boiling with rage. Then he suddenly calmed down, but still growled like a wild animal, glaring daggers at anyone who looked at him. Aizawa continued, ignoring Bakugo's immature behavior.
"You will all go through it. We will then have several physical tests to see your abilities. All right... Who's next..."
As the teacher searched for the name, several students began to talk among themselves, eager to go next. One of these students, a girl with pink skin and hair, with two small yellow antennas sticking up from her head and black and gold eyes, hopped from one foot to the other, excited as a flea, and said.
"It's going to be fun!"
"Fun?"
Lock and Momo, who were speaking quietly, immediately turned their heads toward the teacher, who now emitted a daunting aura.
"Do you think you're here to have fun? Do you think being a hero is a game? That people in danger are toys? If so, I invite you to leave the school immediately."
The class fell into complete silence in less than a quarter of a second...
"And if you think this test is a game... Then I'll add something... I will make a ranking, and the last one will be expelled from the school."
A cold shower for everyone... Lock blinked, not expecting such a statement...
Even...
It was supposed to be abnormal, as if to confirm his thoughts, Momo murmured beside him...
"This isn't normal... It's not allowed to do that..."
Aizawa didn't seem to notice the whisper and continued.
"And I want all of you to give it your all. If I see even one of you not giving your maximum effort, the whole class will be expelled."
Lock gritted his teeth... He didn't like that... Not at all.
"Do you understand?", asked the tired man.
"Yes, Aizawa-Sensei.", the class replied in a small voice... And their teacher buried his nose back in his list, looking for the next student as murmurs rose... Lock turned to Momo.
"He's not allowed to do that!" Momo murmured, glancing at the man.
"It seemed so indeed... Kriff... It's worse than the reeducation processes we had to endure if we happened to be genetically defective.", murmured Lock...
Unfortunately, without the two Yaoyorozus knowing it... This sentence landed in a pair of hypersensitive ears, the person said nothing, but this sentence swirled in their thoughts...
'What does that mean?'
Momo continued.
"We need to inform Principal Nezu, we can't let this pass." Lock nodded, and turned his head to Hope.
"Hope! Contact Virr, tell them they need to speak to the principal as soon as they can."
The sergeant approached and asked.
"What should they say? What just happened?"
Lock nodded.
"You need to tell them what was just said, understood?"
The sergeant nodded and walked away, placing a hand on the side of his helmet to speak softly.
"A plan vod?" Lock asked Momo next.
The ravenette nodded.
"We survive. And if you can, ask someone for a cam recording."
Lock hadn't thought of that. He turned to Warden, catching his attention, before signaling in sign language to activate his camera. The clone's gaze shifted from Momo to the captain, then he nodded. Lock then turned to Neex, this time for something else.
"Neex, I'll need you and your RPS-6 for this test."
The AT Trooper understood the reason and nodded. He hadn't rearmed his rocket launcher, but he tinkered with it for a few seconds.
"Good luck, vod." he said to Momo, who smiled back at him.
"Yaoyorozu Lock!" called Aizawa. The captain turned around, cracked his knuckles, and indicated for Neex to follow him. The AT Trooper made a small sound of excitement and stepped forward. The two entered the circle, Lock handing the ball to Neex. The clone charged it like a normal rocket, prepared the weapon, crouched down, before shouting.
"BACKBLAST!"
Lock checked that there was no one directly behind before responding by shouting.
"CLEAR!"
-BOOM!-
A powerful gust of wind destabilized several students who were not prepared. They hadn't taken the brunt of the blast directly behind the rocket launcher, which was the most dangerous, but the blast still hit them somewhat lightly. The ball had disappeared from everyone's sight...
Then Aizawa's phone beeped, and the score appeared on it.
"984.9 meters," announced the teacher. The two clones got up and returned to their group. Neex even went to apologize to the girl with the earphone jacks, as the shot had assaulted her sensitive ears. Next came Momo's turn... The ravenette approached the circle, pensive.
'What could I use...'
She needed something powerful, she sighed... Well... Another boom it is then. She lifted the bottom of her jumpsuit's T-shirt, and her stomach began to glow...
She heard a 'Whack' and a plaintive 'Ouch' behind her as Fearless gave her a huge slap on the back of the head of the purple haired dwarf.
Instinctively, Hope took off his helmet, causing a few surprised gasps from the present students when they saw the scar on his head.
"What happened to you?" asked the boy with the tail.
"Nothing serious. An unfortunate incident.", Hope replied. But Aizawa's eyes narrowed... The scar... Seemed a bit too regular to be 'an unfortunate incident'. And a bit too big... Something was hidden from them. The girl with the earphone jacks hesitantly took the helmet, and put it on her head before exclaiming.
"Wow! Why did the systems shut down?"
"It didn't recognize you. Normally the sound attenuators should always work."
As if to try to prove this point, the cannon Momo had created fired with a frightening noise.
-KABAOM!-
Several people covered their ears, groaning in pain as their eardrums rang furiously...
After a while, the girl with the earphone jacks took off the helmet and handed it to the sergeant...
"Thanks... That indeed helped..."
Hope took back the helmet, nodding, before putting the helmet back on, still grimacing from the noise of the explosion...
"998.2 meters.", announced Aizawa in a neutral voice, "Very well. Since you all passed, we can move on to the next tests... 50m sprint, long jump, repeated side steps, sit-ups, distance run, seated toe touch, and grip strength... As mentioned before, I want you to give it your all..."
And give it their all they did.
For the 50-meter sprint, Momo and Lock finished in 4.19 seconds and 5.43 seconds respectively, with the fastest being Tenya, who finished in 3.04 seconds with a powerful speed boost provided by his quirk.
For the long jump, Momo simply flew over thanks to the spring provided by a pair of propeller boots, while Lock landed somewhere toward the end of the sandpit, but didn't hear his result. A majority simply went over...
The repeated side steps saw the little pervert and the pink girl breeze through, the former bouncing on his balls, the latter with impressive agility, accuracy, and flexibility, while Lock and Momo struggled more.
During the sit-ups, the two Yaoyorozus had no trouble doing them... Until Momo got a cramp in her stomach, leaving Lock the last one, and had to be stopped by Aizawa who suspected he could still do plenty more...
The distance run was once again easily passed by the two Yaoyorozus, who even surpassed Iida, whose legs gave out long before the two finally stopped. Momo was glad she had agreed to train with her vods, and the two did a check, finally out of breath after about thirty minutes after Aizawa had to stop them again.
The seated toe touches were once again passed with flying colors, much to a certain blond's great exasperation. And again, Aizawa had to stop them. The teacher seemed exasperated now, but internally, he was closely watching the boy with the cloning quirk and the girl... He liked what he saw...
But something was really off...
Grip strength saw a boy with multiple arms break all records with 540kg of pressure. Momo was second, with 470kg of pressure after exhausting herself to create a medium-sized hydraulic press... Problem was, the press had crushed the device, the machine not being really suitable for such things unlike the boy's multiple arms... Lock came in third... With 210kg of pressure... However, it was only after the entire Alpha squad plus the captain had forced the device like crazy at the same time...
In the end, everyone stood before Aizawa, exhausted, drained, except the clones, Lock, Momo, and Izuku. The latter, even though he had used his quirk a lot and had 'exhausted' himself controlling it at the same time as using it, was not physically tired. After all, he had undergone the combined training of All Might and his two clone friends.
The teacher looked at them gravely...
"You're all lucky... The class won't be expelled... But one of you won't last... Here are the results..."
Everyone held their breath, waiting for the results with a mix of excitement and anxiety...
"In order from first to last, here are the names..."
His eyes looked at each of them with a piercing, solemn, and severe gaze...
"Yaoyorozu Momo." The ravenette breathed a sigh of relief, not even realizing she had been holding her breath...
"Yaoyorozu Lock." The boy did nothing, just nodding his head, before getting a friendly elbow in the ribs. He turned to a smiling Momo, returning the smile wholeheartedly... Alpha Squad's members meanwhile bumped fists
"Todoroki Shoto." The boy with bicolor hair didn't respond, and didn't even seem to react...
"Bakugo Katsuki." The blond fumed... Apparently he was aiming for first place, but before he could insult the top three with every name, a cold look from Aizawa silenced him...
"Iida Tenya." The blue-haired boy relaxed with a smile...
"Midoriya Izuku." The greenette in question looked up, surprised to be called so early, but his face lit up. An equally excited Warden came over to him, passing a hand over his shoulder and rubbing the top of his head in a friendly manner...
"I knew you could do it!" exclaimed the armored teenager. However, a certain blond didn't see it that way...
"WHAT?! THIS EXTR-!"
"THAT'S ENOUGH," thundered Aizawa's voice, his hair standing up all of a sudden. His red eyes flamed with even more intensity, causing a gasp of surprise from the blond as his quirk was abruptly erased, anger and exasperation shining in that look...
"Bakugo Katsuki, student of Class 1-A, you will immediately cease this childish and immature behavior. UA does not want such behavior within its walls. If you have issues, settle them outside the school, or with Hound Dog, the school's education counsellor. Another slip-up like this, and I'll double your detention hours. Am I understood?"
It was rare for Shota Aizawa to get angry, but there... The explosive boy had seriously gotten on his nerves... The blond grumbled something, casting a hateful glance toward the greenette, who recoiled, but remained silent... The tired teacher continued thus...
"Tokoyami Fumikage." The boy with the bird head silently nodded, murmuring something to himself...
"Shoji Mezo." The boy with multiple arms uncrossed his arms, exposing the marks where he had tensed his muscles due to stress...
"Ojiro Mashirao." The blond with the tail smiled...
"Kirishima Eijiro." The red-haired boy pumped his fist, showing off his sharp teeth in a wide grin, and exclaimed with a proud 'YEAH!'...
"Ashido Mina." The pink girl squeaked with joy...
"Uraraka Ochako." The tired man looked at her with a raised eyebrow... "Is there something wrong?" Indeed, the brunette seemed a bit greenish... And she replied...
"I don't feel well... I think I overdid it... -burp-..."
She turned even greener all of a sudden, and Midnight rushed over, Momo having created an opaque plastic bag that he grabbed on the way... He took her aside where she could empty her stomach into the bag under the gaze of her classmates... Aizawa resumed...
"Putting that aside... Koda Koji." The mute boy, who had proven a deep connection to nature thanks to his quirk, while Lock would have bet more on a quirk related to rocks, timidly nodded his head...
"Sato Rikido." The tall guy had a surprisingly soft smile for someone whose physique suggested he could split a log in half without even using his quirk...
"Asui Tsuyu." The frog girl let out a relieved 'kero'...
"Aoyama Yuga." The boy nodded, seeming to tremble slightly and sweat as he put a hand on his stomach...
"Sero Hanta." The boy with protrusions on his elbows clenched his fists, looking up at the sky, a smile on his lips...
"Kaminari Denki." The boy with the electric quirk punched the air with a fist, shouting a proud 'HELL YEAH!'...
"Jiro Kyoka." The tsundere just nodded... The teacher's gaze then fell on the two students who hadn't been called... One was the little pervert, the other... Lock turned to the squad...
"It's a girl, she must have an invisibility quirk, because our thermals can't detect her.", whispered Hope in Lock's ear, answering his silent question...
Aizawa remained silent for a while...
"Hagakure Toru.", the invisible girl seemed to place a hand on her heart as she let out a big sigh of relief. The professor's gaze then fell on the perverted dwarf.
"And finally... Mineta Minoru.", the boy's eyes filled with tears...
"You deserved it, you scum.", murmured Lock, "How you got into this school is beyond me..."
Several girls seemed to think the same thing... On the boys' side, there were few reactions, apart from Lock's, which, despite his attempt to conceal it, was the most visible. However, this didn't seem to bother Aizawa, who buried his chin in his scarf... And he walked back toward the building...
"Go change... Oh, and by the way... No one is being expelled."
This instantly stopped Mineta's lamentations as he turned toward the teacher, his eyes still filled with tears.
Lock, however, thought two things.
First, he should keep an eye on the boy.
Secondly, he was beginning to understand the professor's way of thinking... Just as Momo did... Both, in agreement, decided to have Warden delete the recording he had made, and to cancel the order they had given to Virr and Mirdip.
Fortunately, the orientation had taken longer than they had anticipated, thus avoiding the two of them discussing the issue with the principal...
And unnecessary problems...
The boys went to their changing rooms, the girls to theirs... Lock changed as quickly as possible and left before being bombarded with questions by the others... Momo did the same, and the two found themselves once again in the company of Alpha Squad, patiently waiting for the rest of the class... To continue their first day at their hero academia...
Hope you enjoyed the chapter :) !
