So I am a huge spiderman fan and I thought that mixing that with My Hero Academia would be fun. I know it's not an original idea but my twists will hopefully make it different from other fanfictions. This will also be different from most spiderman stories as well.
Chapter 1: Sticky Fingers
What makes a person a hero? Is it the way that they use their gifts to help others? The way they inspire people to be the best version of themselves? Or is it something else? A young Izuku Midoriya sat at his small desk in elementary school pondering those questions. The teacher is talking about some math lesson that Izuku already knows so he tunes it out while looking out the window.
The teacher notices that Izuku isn't paying attention to the lesson and raises an eye brow. He walks over to Izuku and quietly waits for the boy to notice him standing beside his desk. The other students start to snicker at the greenette as he is lost in thought. The teacher taps Izuku on the shoulder and he snaps back to reality looking around the class.
"Would you like to join the rest of the class Izuku?"
Asked the teacher in a polite way. Izuku's face goes red in embarrassment at seeing the class laugh at him so he nods quietly. The teacher nods and waves his hand around to silence the class. The lesson continues with the teacher asking Izuku questions to make sure he is paying attention. The teacher is impressed that Izuku seems to already know what she's going over even though she hasn't taught the class the lesson yet.
-End of School-
Inko Midoriya is standing at the school gate waiting for her son to meet her. More parents are also waiting at the gate to pick of their kids. The doors to the school open up with the students being lead out by the teachers. Families pair up while Inko knows to wait for her son a bit longer. After a few minutes pass and the other people leave Inko sees her son walking out with a teacher.
"Your son is a very kind person Mrs. Midoriya. He always insists on helping me clean up the class."
Inko smiles at the teacher as she takes Izuku's hand into hers. Izuku smiles brightly at his mother and takes her hand without hesitation.
"Yes, he's always been happy to help in any way he can."
The teacher nods and waves a farewell to the little boy and to the mother. They go their separate ways with Izuku listening to Inko talk about her work day. The routine has been like that since he started his first year at the elementary school and now he's almost four years old. Inko works at the city library and is the place where Izuku would spend most of his free time since he learned to read. Despite working in a library Inko always had interesting stories to tell her son.
They both made their way to the train station with Izuku listening to his mom talk and laugh at the day she had. The train station came into view making them both walk a bit faster, wanting to be home. Izuku can't wait to get home because his mom always makes his favorite dinner on his birthday. He also gets to call his father who is working in America. He hasn't seen the man in so long that if it weren't for the pictures around the apartment he would have forgotten what the man looks like.
Once they board the train they take a seat and watch the city pass by through the window. Izuku lets out a tired yawn while laying his head on his mother's arm. Inko runs her fingers through her son's hair making sure he feels safe. The boy slowly falls asleep as he feels his mother's calming touch. The world slowly went darker and darker as the young greenette fell into a dreamless slumber.
-Midoriya Apartment-
Izuku woke up on the couch in the living room with a little jump. He can smell the food his mother is cooking from the kitchen and smiles happily. after getting up and doing a few stretches he goes to his room to change his clothes. After a few minutes he comes back out wearing blue pj bottoms and a red shirt that has big yellow letters saying 'All M.' Inko walks back into the living room to see Izuku changed and ready for dinner.
They both walk into the kitchen in a good mood. The boy has speculated on what quirk he would get when his birthday passes. Inko is also curious as to what ability her son would develop. The katsudon that Inko made fills the kitchen with an amazing aroma. The apartment phone rings and Izuku gets really excited while cheering. Inko smiles as well as she answers the phone.
"Yes dear, we're just about to eat dinner now. Oh breakfast? Wow, I keep forgetting about the time difference."
Izuku smiled at seeing his mother talk on the phone. He noticed that she would always look nervous or worried when she thought he wasn't looking. The way she calms down when talking to his father is soothing and he wishes that he can do the same for her. She turns to him and motions for him to take the phone. Izuku happily rushes to answer the phone and hear his father.
"Happy birthday son! I hope that you had a really good day."
His father says in an excited voice. The smile on Izuku's face got wider as he hears the man say that. Inko watches her son light up as he talks on the phone with his father and she smiles with small tears in her eyes.
"How are your experiments going daddy? Can you tell me what you're working on now?"
The boy asks enthusiastically making Inko chuckle a bit. Izuku has always had a big interest in science and engineering for his young age. She can see the small pout on his face when his father denies to mention what he's working on because it's a secret. Hisashi Midoriya is a brilliant man who's ideas got him working with big companies. He has never talked about any of the projects that he was a part of which annoyed both Izuku and Inko because though she isn't a scientist, she is also quite intelligent.
Father and son talked about the boy's schooling and if he's taking care of his mother. Izuku listens to his father as he talks about how America is, New York especially. They laugh at the stories his father tells about how crazy the city is and what he's seen.
"Alright son, I have to go soon but I need to tell you something."
Izuku can hear the surprise in his father's voice as he tries to stay calm. Hisashi sounds like he's running with the way he's breathing heavily.
"Just know that what ever quirk you develop, your mother and I will always love you. Take care of her while I'm gone son. I wish I could be there to see you grow up."
Izuku tries to hold back his tears but it doesn't last long till they fall down his face. Inko quickly pulls him into a hug as he and Hisashi say their goodbyes. She doesn't enjoy seeing her baby boy cry, especially when it's something that makes her want to cry too. He hangs up the phone with a sniffle from his nose. Inko holds him in her arms until he wipes the tears from his eyes. She pick him up and places him on the chair for the kitchen table.
The thought of stuffing his face with katsudon made from his mom made him feel better. He gladly takes the bowl that his mother prepared and uses his chop sticks to chow down on the food. The taste of his mother's cooking will always be one of Izuku's main weaknesses when it comes to cheering him up.
"Hey slow down! You're going to choke silly!"
Inko watched her son eat as quickly as he could and tried not to laugh at him. She ate her food normally after giving up on getting Izuku to slow down. Izuku took a moment to get a drink of juice before going back to his bowl. When he finished the food he pats his stomach with a satisfied sigh.
"Thank you mommy! Your katsudon is the best!"
He lets out a yawn as he rubs his eyes feeling the effects of sleepyness. Inko snickers a bit at seeing her energetic son suddenly get tired in a second. She gathers up the bowls and places them into the sink. Izuku get off the chair slowly and tries to help with the dishes.
"Oh no you don't mister. It's bed time for you."
Izuku nods his head too tired to disagree. Inko follows him to his room and helps him get tucked into bed. The boy's room is full all kinds of hero merch. The most noticeable hero that someone would see is All Might, The Symbol of Peace. Inko gets Izuku comfy in his All Might themed bed and kisses his forehead. Izuku smiles sleepily at his mother as he drifts off.
Inko takes a moment to play with Izuku's hair before leaving the room. She heads back into the kitchen so that she can clean the dishes and pack up the remaining food. As Izuku sleeps he starts to dream. He is standing on a platform that seems to be floating around in space. To Izuku's confusion there are what appears to be giant spider webs stretching as far as the eye can see. Different patterns in different sizes and attached to floating boulders.
Izuku didn't know what do to but just stare at the endless view of webs. In a way the view is beautiful. It's almost like he can see a story in the webs as they move about in space. As he continues to stare at the webs he can suddenly feel a strange sensation in his head. Izuku is suddenly aware of everything around him as he can hear the webs pulling and shifting. He can barely make out what the webs are showing him.
The tingling in his head gets stronger when he sees his father appearing in the webs. It looks like he's at work mixing different chemicals into a beaker. The boy is very confused on what is happening to him and what he's seeing. He can hear his father talking but it sounds far away. He tries to focus on what he is saying but the tingling in his head is getting stronger.
Izuku opens his eyes groggily feeling like he's restrained. He shakes his head a little getting the sleep out of his mind and notices something strange. He is staring down at his bed from the ceiling. He looks to his sides and notices that his hands and feet are sticking to the ceiling. He happily shouts out loudly glad that his quirk has developed. He can suddenly hear footsteps running towards his room.
His mother bursts through the bedroom door and frantically looks around. Izuku decides to stay quiet and see if he mom would see him on the ceiling. Once she noticed that dangling blanket that was wrapped around the boy she nearly fainted. Her son hanging on the ceiling caused her to rush under him just in case he fell.
"What are you doing up there Izuku?! Be careful please baby!"
Inko shouted while trying to find a way to get him down. Izuku tries to move his hands and feet but notices that they are stuck where they are. He struggles to move more while his mom stands on the bed trying to pull him down. The scene would have been pretty funny if both of them weren't freaking out about the situation.
"Come on Izuku let go of the wall."
"I'm trying but my hands and feet are stuck!"
Inko kept pulling on Izuku while he tried to pull his limbs away from the ceiling. The tile and paint broke off letting Izuku fall into his mother's arms but causing Inko to fall back onto the bed. They both take a moment to calm down before looking at his hands and feet. There are pieces of the ceiling still stuck on his hands and feet. Inko let's out a nervous laugh at what just happened.
"I think it's time I schedule a quirk check up."
Inko says making Izuku smile and look up at her with stars in his eyes. They spend the rest of the morning tryiny to get Izuku an appointment at the hospital while getting the remaining tiles off of his hands and feet. The boy thought of all kinds of ways to use his quirk as a hero. It appears that he can stick his hands and feet to the surface of anything and stay attached to it. If he can control when to leg go and when to stick he could crawl up walls and ceilings.
Inko's face is showing worry and slight fear at the ability Izuku is showing. She couldn't believe the coincidence of him gaining a quirk that allows him to stick to surfaces like...like a spider. She thinks back to her pregnancy with Izuku and how she suddenly got ill. Izuku isn't paying attention to his mother's expression as he is too focused on trying to climb up the kitchen wall. His hands stuck to the wall but he is having trouble getting his feet to stick. Inko snaps out of her worries and sees her son trying to get higher up the wall.
"Izu baby don't do that. We have to get you checked on to see what your quirk is."
-A Couple Hours Later-
Izuku is sitting on the couch watching the hero news while Inko is talking on the phone. They both got ready for the day with Inko having to help Izuku because he would randomly get stuck to things or have smaller things get stuck on his hands or feet. At the moment the boy is trying to get the TV remote to stop sticking to his small hand. The mother hung up the phone and sat next to her son as he continued to shake his hand around. Izuku lets out a sigh as he gives up and suddenly the remote falls to the floor
"I got you a quirk check up later today so you'll be staying home from school. Maybe Katsuki can tell you what happened in class."
Inko said with a smile making Izuku slump his shoulders a bit. He hasn't told her but Katsuki and him have had a falling out as friends. The other boy is older that him so he developed his quirk first which is the ability to detonate his sweat into small sparkles and pops. Even though they were small pops they still burned and stung when they were detonated too closley to someone's skin. Izuku let out a soft sigh that Inko picked up from the corner of her eye.
That's the first chapter of my second fanfiction y'all! It may be a little similar to how 'Rise of the Sword Hero' is but I will do better to make it different. I hope that you spiderman fans enjoy this new adventure with me. Let me know what you think so far! Until next time!
