Here we go, the third chapter as the two will climb the mountain.
J & N Superstar Saga Chapter 3
Ascending Cappy Mountain
J and N made their way through a small cave and came out in a sunny mountain like area. J checks the map.
"According to the map, we should be close to a place called Cappy Village." J said nodding "A village that rests at the base of Cappy Mountain, we will have to go through the village to a path that will lead to the Dreamland outskirts."
"Alright then, I'm sure we can not run into any hiccups doing that" N said smiling
"Knowing your luck so far, I wouldn't bet on it" V said on the phone.
"Can't deny that" J said putting the map away as the walk along a bridge.
"You fiends!" A voice called out to them and J and N are forced back to the cave entrance as three Waddle Dees armed with Spears surround them. The lead one said "We…We've found you at last! You scum! What have you don with Metaknight?!"
"Wait…what?" J said as she and N looked confused
"Yes! There is no mistake! YOU kidnaped Metaknight!" The Waddle Dee next to N states.
"We didn't kidnap anymon!" N said.
"We have witnesses!" The Waddle Dee next to J said "Now confess, villains!"
"No we didn't!" J said annoyed and looks to the lead Waddle Dee and explained "We literally just arrived in the Dreamland Kingdon we're are J and N."
"Yeah you know, part of the Drone Heroes of the Sol Kingdom." N added with a nod "We'd never kidnap anyone.
"Hold up. You're saying you're J and N?" The Lead Waddle Dee asked
"Lies! Bald-faced lies!" The Waddle Dee near N said doubtful "The superstars of the Sol Kingdom would never come here!"
"Ohhhh….ow…." A voice said and the five see Pete dragging himself out the river, covered in bruises and injuries and said "They're not lying…" This surprised the Waddle Dees "They say they've come here chasing someone called Salem….and they're really, really tough…" He groans as he falls back into the water.
"…Oh dear. Oh my! Ohhh, BOY! Pardon us sir and miss! SO sorry!" The lead Waddle Dee said embarrassed. "See, our kingdom's most skilled warrior Metaknight was kidnapped by something…Or so recent reports out of Cappy Village claim. We have been looking for any sign of the perpetrator."
"According to eyewitness accounts Metaknight's kidnapper…wore an odd helmet and spoke their every action…that's all we have to go on." The Waddle Dee next to J said.
"Hmmm…. that description sounds oddly familiar." J said thinking.
"If you come across anything, please let us know." The Waddle Dee next to N said.
"Sure, no problem" N said smiling
"Reopen the investigation!" The lead Waddle Dee said and walks off while the other two head into the cave.
"Wow, wonder what happened to the Metaknight person?" Uzi said on the phone.
"Not sure, but I think I have an idea on who the kidnapper is." J said, "Either way, we should keep moving." N nods and the two cross the bridge
They arrive in Cappy Village, home to the Cappy's who looked to be brown cactus like people without the needles. Despite this they were all friendly and welcoming.
As they explored they see a female Cappy standing by a nest. N approaches and asked "Is everything okay?"
"No matter how long you wait, Kaepora Gaebora won't come back. I feel it in my bones." The female Cappy said "He said he saw someone who looked like Metaknight, went to the summit, and never retruened. With Kaepora Gaebora gone, we can't get to the top of the mountain. This isn't good…"
J and N concerned kept moving, they explored the town a bit but they were heading to the path that would lead them to Dreamland outskirts. They wanted to help finding Metaknight but they had to get to Dreamland castle first to get aid in finding Salem.
They soon come across another Cappy who smiles and asked them "Ah, visitors, have you met Brok and Sindri, the weapon-making masters?"
"No but we will be sure to meet them sometime" J said as they head down the path out of the village heading down the mountain.
As they approach they spot the Lead Waddle Dee from before as he was confronted by a familiar foe, Cyn.
"G-Give back Metaknight!" The Waddle Dee said nervously holding his spear.
Cyn uses her helmets cannon to fire a blast knocking him away "Cackle, cackle, laugh." She said instead of actually laughing.
"Hey! You!" J said glaring at Salem's minion.
"Confused, huh?" Cyn said and turns around and her eyes go wide "Shocked expression! Y-you again! You are the pair of fink-rats that swooped in with Vrak that I hate!"
"Yeah now tell us where Blaze's voice is?!" N yelled out
"Also what you did with at Metaknight person!" J added "Or do we have to have a rematch to get you to talk!" She and N get into a battle stance.
"HMPH! I say to you!" Cyn said "Processing, while I was busy dealing with Metaknight, that gave you time to catch up to me! I have fury!" Cyn then smirks "Evil smirk, but it matters not, Salem has already begun her next plan on the Dreamland Castle! Since you two can't make it in time, I say it is better never than late…ascending" She flies up into the air "So here is where your journey is halted!" She then blasts a rock that falls and lands blocking J and N's path making them jump.
"I have fury!" Cyn said coming down "Since you will not be shattering this stone, I laugh at you attempting to climb down this mountain!" She flies off
"Hey! Get back here!" J yells out cursing the funcution to fly was disabled.
"If we still had access to out other weapon systems it wouldn't be bad" N said sighing "But we had to lose them in exchange for the ability work underwater and go a long time without oil."
"Yeah, but still if we can find some weapons to use here might help." J said thinking.
"Hey, why don't we go see those weapon makers, Brok and Sindri" N said getting an idea.
"Sounds like our best lead." J said with a nod and they head back into Cappy Village.
They got directions on where the Huldra Brothers home was, it was on the bridge that leads up Cappy Mountain. When they arrived they found a house but surprised to see several Cappy's on the bridge working on fixing it.
One worker cappy sees the two drones and goes to them and said "You can't clamb the mountain until the bridge is fixed."
"Understandable, we're here for the Huldra brothers." J said nodding as the two enter the house.
Upon entering they see two dwarves by a work station, one has blue skin with amber eyes and dark brown hair, to which is receded atop his head, and most prominent in the form of a medium-sized chinstrap beard and slight side whiskers around the side of his head as sideburns. He also wore glod plated curiass and wriest bracelet alog with brown pants, boots, glove and apron with tools in it's pouches.
The other had a tan complexion with chestnut brown eyes with matching dark brown hair and beard. He wars gold armor with green clothes undernearth, brown gauntlet like gloves and black boots. He also had a bit of a cautious nature as opposed to the other who was more loud.
"Alright, this here is our last stone!" The blue dwarf said to the other "Don't wuss out and go too light on the heat this time, we have to show the true spirit of the Huldra Brothers Sindri." He readies a mallet
"I understand! This is our last shot so you don't go too hard on it with that mallet like a caveman Brok!" Sindri said nodding and pumps the machine to provide heat
Brok proceeds to hammer it but all that results in crumbling the rock into pebbles. Once he was done he pants he looks at it and groans annoyed "Oh…it's no use…this stone is no good, no way we can make weapons anymore…"
"Huh?" Sindri said looking to the entrance to see J and N "Oh, hello what can we do for you fine…metal folks?"
"Oh it is nothing it's just we need something" J said walking up. "I'm J and this is N."
"Nice to meet you, we are in need of your aid" N explained "We need something like this, a weapon arm changer for our hands." N provides an image.
"Huh? So you want us to make you these gadgets to change your hands into swords and…chainsaws?" Sindri asked looking at the diagram.
"Yeah, the Chain saw hands are mine while J's is the swords" N said smiling
"I thought I recognized these two." Brok said smiling "Well I'll be a trolls uncle J and N, Drone heroes of the Sol Kingdom in our little workshop! Jump and Weapon masters!"
"Oh yes, I can see it now Brok!" Sindri said recognizing them "I remember them too. Why are a couple of celebrities like you wandering around this place looking for weapon changer equips?"
"Well you see, it's cause…" J and N began to say and the same time to explain.
"Oh look…you don't need to bore us with any of that nonsense. We fully understand…" Brok said interrupting them.
"Um…we do?" Sindri asked confused.
"Of course, it be some big hero nonsense." Brok said "Our lips are sealed…We'll make these weapon hanger changers that you'll need. We're professionals after all."
"Well some of us are more professionals then others, but yeah we're pros." Sindri said nodding. "But the thing is, in order to make these weapon changers, we need Cappy Blocks from the mountaintop. And since Kaepora Gaebora stopped coming down here, we can't get to the summit!"
"What so special about Cappy Blocks?" N asked
"Them Cappy Blocks are hard steel stones." Brok explained "Weapons made from those things can break anything! We want to climb the mountain to get more Cappy Blocks, but we can't jump well enough to do it! Plus for a while our ability to travel between realms been on the fritz for a while now."
"What if we go get them for you?
"Really? But now that I think on it, you two are jumping pros aren't you?" Sindri asked J and N.
"So, are you saying you could go to the top of that mountain and get us some Cappy Blocks?"
"Yeah, we can do that!" N said happily
"That would REALLY be super helpful, because honestly climbing that mountain sound unhygienic." Sindri said "But if you get us some Cappy Blocks, we'll make you some special weapon hand changers!"
"As they say you scratch our backs, we'll scratch yours." Brok said.
J and N exit and see the bridge was done being repaired. "Ready to ascend N?" J asked.
"You know me J, I'm fine doing anything." N said nodding.
"Good luck guys" V said on the phone.
The two then head out to climb Cappy Mountain.
Along the way as they ascend they got into fights with some enemy creatures of Dreamland, a small black robotic creatures with hardhats known as Mettaurs.
"These ones seem to be the Dreamland version of Fodders" J said after ending one fight.
"You know, I was thinking that too." N said nodding "Think we will find more Dreamland versions of Sol Kingdom enemies we've faced?"
"That I have no doubt" J said thinking.
The two keep going battling these enemies that mostly attack by head butting and collecting items and as they get into a fight they encounter another enemy, a small purple creature wearing a skull helmet and welding two bones known as a Gabon fighting with them. It fights with throwing a bone at one of them. But easily delt with.
"That looked like this kingdom's version of Vrak's Tilobite Magias" N said "Lot cuter though."
"I agree but still dangerous." J said in agreement.
They continue their accent up the mountain, using tornado's as speed boosts for their spin jump when using it over larger gaps. They soon come to an area they can't progress and found they had to turn on a water despencer so go to the watering hole.
While they see one active and a fire by a Cappy statue and knew putting it out might activate something.
"It's a good think I got that upgrade that allows me to gather water" J said as she inferts her left arm and begins filling an internal tank.
"Downside is you can't jump, so N, you will have help her despense it." Uzi said on the phone.
"Understood." N said nodding. They move to the stature and N jumps holding J's right arm and pulls it down and she shoots water out her left dousing the fire.
The clouds were absorbed into the statue and nearby on the mountain wall was a face that opens it's mouth and a tornado forms.
"Huh? Well that's neat" N said smiling.
"I guess I know which way we're going." J said
The two keep moving to find a way to turn the water on to the fountain they cam across before using the tornado to continue there path through the area battling more enemies and using J's water despencing ability to activate tornados, they soon find the switch to activate the first fountain.
They returns back to it and used it to douse the first statue they say activing another tornado and use to pass over a wall.
"Back on the Cappy Mountain Trail" N said smiling as they enter the next area with a brown statue of what looked to be a multiple eyed doll "What is that?"
"Don't know but the way forward is blocked so might as well investigate it" J said thinking. The two approach it
"Ah. Travelors. I am Claydol. The ancient Pokemon weapon of the Cappy civilization." The statue said to them "Beoynd this point, the path grows even crueller. You must prove yourselves up to the challenge…Are you ready to accept the challenge?"
J and N nod "Yeah we're ready" N said smiling. They are then put onto one of the four pillars surrounding Claydol.
"You must start now. And you must catch 10 Cappy spirits within 35 seconds." Claydol explained. "Do not fall off the ledges or you will immediately fail."
J and N used the Spin Jump to help them with getting the Cappy spirits that appeared between the pillars one by one and cleared it with plenty of time.
"Challenge completed…" Claydol said and the drones approach him "Now onto your next challenge. You must defeat me!"
The brown stone on it's body cracks area revealing it's black body with red multiple eyes.
"Let's go N!" J said
"You got it!" N said nodding as the fight begins with Claydol who had two pillars alongside him.
"Let us begin!" Claydol said as he then moves and fades into one of the pillars. J attacks it and destroys it but Claydol hides in the other one and a new one appears in the old ones place which N destroys. The Pillar Claydol was in fires a purple beam at N hurting him.
J then destroys the pillar, Claydol tries to hide but finds their no pillar as a new pillar replaces the prior destroyed one. N then performs Bounce Duos with J on Claydol doing some damage. The Pillar fires a beam at N doing damage and Claydol fires a similar beam with it's arm cannons doing damage to J but missing N who jumped to avoid it.
J then does Spin Duos with N on Claydol for some more major damage. Claydol then goes to hide in a pillar as a new appears where he was before. N destroys the new one as the pillar fires at them. J then destroys the pillar exposing Claydol again as he moves to the other spot as a new pillar spawns. Claydol growls as he was glowing red and he fires beams from his arm cannons. J was hit but N dodges, then do Bounce Duos finishing Claydol off in this attack.
"Im…Impressive…." Claydol said as he explodes, he leaves behind a Claydol coat for the two. He recovers and said nodding "You have passed this test, too! Now you must face the test of reaching the summit!" He disappears and the ledge lowers for them.
"Well that was easy." N said smiling.
"Yeah but if it's the summit we're going to we should keep an eye out for this Kaepora Gaebora fellow" J said thinking.
"I think that is fair, but should we put on these new coats?" N suggested
J nods and equips the Claydol Coat while N puts on the Cosmic coat heal up and continue their accent up the mountain.
Well so far so good, if J and N want those weapon hand upgrades they have to reach the summit.
