Luke and Mara were sitting cross legged on Luke's bed. They were holding hands and their eyes were closed. They had been like this for about a hour, though to them it would seem like a shorter amount of time.

Thier eyes finally opened. They both took a deep breath. Mara was the first to move. She grabbed the two glasses of water they had ready. She handed one to Luke before sitting back on the bed with her back against the headboard.

"I'm pretty sure we reached Corran. He was not able to reply but I thought his surprised when we connected." Mara told Luke.

"I believe you are right. I could feel him for a few seconds. I believe we were able to hold the connection long enough for you to pass the message. We just hope he can let Karrde know."

Mara just sat there a minute before replying. "I have never communicated that long of a distance before. I think Tatooine was the farthest before now."

"You are stronger in the force now. I still believe he kept your true potential hidden from you so that you would not have been a threat to him."

"Maybe, he never trusted any of us. He put us against each other."

"He didn't want you teaming up with someone like my father. He probably feared either of you knowing to whole truth, what ever that was. We may never know."

"A good bet. Now what. We delivered our message."

"We wait for Car'Das to contact us."

Karrde arrived pretty quick. When Chewie contacted him and told him they had a message from Mara, he took off for the Falcon. Luckily the two ships didn't docking bays too far from each other. When he arrived he saw Chewie at the bottom of the ramp. When he got to where everyone else was, he was supprised who all was there.

"Ok, care to tell me what is going on. Chewie just said you heard from Mara."

Corran spoke up. "She contacted me threw the force. She must be pretty far out there because I think Luke had to help her. Even then the connection was pretty weak. I barely got the message."

"Your talking about Mara's ability to talk threw the force at great distances."

"Yes." No one was realy suprised Karrde knew.

"All I got was Tell Karrde we might have found him that they were on Exocol in the Kathol Outback."

"Karrde, what are they doing and do we need to head out there to back them up?" asked Han.

"They are looking for Jorj Car'das. He was the man that ran the organization before me. He disappeared. Luke found a clue to what might have happen to him. He found a slave circute on Dagobah and gave it to me.

When he did I sent Mara out to try to find him. I was worried he would come after me and my people. So I needed to find him. Mara was just suppose to find him and report back. When I heard she joined up with Luke I figured the two would contact him."

"Why would they try to contact him?" asked Wedge.

"Because when he vanishes, so did his library. Luke is looking for knowledge. Luke has no connection to the organization so he should have no problems. Mara was not suppose to contact him. She does. My hope is that if he was to learn who Mara is, he wont take any anger for me out on her. Plus she is the only one besides Luke who can take care of her self. With the two working together. I don't know much that could stop the two"

"That is true, they make a great team. If they are on good terms and really working together as parners should. They will be a force to you would not want to cross." replied Corran.

"Karrde, what are you going to do?" asked Han.

"I have to go after them. The message was to let me know where to go. They are calling me to them."

"Are planning on taking the Wild Karrde?" asked Iella.

"No, I don't want to risk the rest of the crew. I would take the Jade Fire but that is not possible now." Everyone knew about that.

A week ago, a drunk crashed into the docking bay the Jade Fire was located. The guy is lucky to have died in the explosion, because they all knew that what Mara would do to him would have been worse.

"We will take the Falcon. We can leave tomorrow." Han told Karrde.

"Han." Han stopped him.

"I'm not leaving Luke and Mara out there when they could end up in trouble."

"Take Corran with you." Wedge told them.

"What."

"Han, he is a Jedi. You will be better able to find them with him around. I would go but I just can't take off."

"Yes you can Wedge." His wife told him. "I will get Cracken to get you cleared. I might try to join you. I just need to find a baby sitter for Syal."

"I can see if Winter will watch her. 3PO can help. He has lots of practice."

"Well I better go contact the General." Iella replied.

"Oh, I'm going to be in so much trouble when Mirax finds out."

Luke and Mara were sitting at a table at a small cafe eating breakfast. They had been waiting a couple days and Mara was getting impatient. Luke was not too worried. He had a feeling it would just take time. He did stay alert in case Car'das was not has friendly as he hoped.

When they finished thier meal they walked around the town. Mara did some shopping for Luke. She made it her mission to find more clothes that were not black. He only brought a couple outfits that were not black. She even told him she may burn all his black clothes. Not that Luke thought she would. They also stocked up on supplies for the ship.

When they got back they were suprised to see a speeder waiting out sided the ship. They cautiously approach the ship. They both reached out with the force to see if there was any danger near by. Not feeling any threat they walked up to the speeder and it's one occupant.

"Hello, Master Skywalker and hello to you as well Mara Jade. I am Entoo Nee. Personel assistant to Jorj Car'das."

"Nice to meet you. What can we do for you?" asked Luke.

"I am here to take you to see him. Do not worry you are not in any danger."

Luke turned to Mara. "Looks like waiting has paid off."

"Yes but if we are to go I would like to get my blaster first." While in town she just carried her lightsaber.

"I am sorry, no blasters please. Both your lightsabers are fine. I must insist."

Mara didn't look happy but a look from Luke told her they would comply. If it was a trap, she would just make Luke suffer when they got out of it.

"OK, we do need to put our shopping away first though." replied Luke.

"That is fine. I will wait."

Luke and Mara took their shopping to their rooms. Luke also collected R2. When they got back out side Entoo did not seem to mind the droid. They all loaded up and headed up a mountain path. When they arrived at a small shed, they were suprised.

"This is only where he recieves guest. I will be taking you to his home."

They walked in the small shack and Entoo hit a hidden switch and another door opened. They saw a long tunnel with a hover car waiting.

"If you would get in, we will be on our way."

Luke and Mara got in and they then were moving at a fast pace down the tunnel. Neither said anything they just waited.

After a while they came to another door. Entoo opened it. They walked in to a large garden. Luke looked around and saw they were still in the mountain.

"Welcome to my home. I am Jorj Car'das and the reason for your trip out here."

"Thank you, I am Luke Skywalker and my friend Mara Jade."

"So what brings the head of the Jedi Order all the way out here. I can guess Miss Jade's reason."

Mara stiffened at that. "Do not worry Miss Jade. I do not hold Talon in any ill light. I am gratefull for him holding things together and taking the organization in the direction it is heading."

Mara relaxes but didn't know what to say. This was not the greeting she expected.

Luke, seeing she did not know what to say spoke. "That is good to hear. Karrde was worried you would not recieve any of his associates well."

"Yet he sent you here to see me."

"I was not to make contact. Just discover where you were and like Karrde know so he could come see you himself."

"Why did you stay then. You must have figure I was here after you two met with the customs agent."

"Mara was not to make contact but I was looking to meet you. Karrde told me that when you disappeared so did your library. As you know a lot of data was lost about the Jedi when the Old Republic fell. I was hoping you had any data that I could have."

"I don't know how much I have but you are welcome to look and take what you can."

"There is one thing I would like to see if you have first though. During my trip here I stopped by Dagobah. While there I was visited by my old master and my father. They appeared before me as force ghost."

"So, Anikin redeemed himself to keep his conscience."

"You know about force ghost."

"I know a little, not much. I have never met one, but I have heard of them."

"My father told me to ask if you had any information on a Lynn Jade. She was a Corillian Jedi."

"The name doesn't ring any bells, but you are welcome to look."

"Luke, I told you it could wait."

"Mara, I know you did, but you rarely do anything for yourself. Let me look. We are here. He is offering us any data we want."

Mara couldn't really argue but didn't know if she realy wanted to know the truth.

"Come I will show you to the library and then your R2 unit can start looking while I tell you my story. We will also need to send Karrde a message."

"We already did. Mara has a special abiliaty that allows her to communicate over a great distance. We contacted another Jedi we trusted to pass on to Karrde of our location."

"Good, Entoo can let Admiral Darr know we will have more guest. Come."

He lead them to the library and the three sat on some chairs in the center while R2 did his research. The tail took a couple hours. Luke and Mara were suprised that he knew Yoda and it was Yoda who sent him out here.

They were both curious about the Aing-Tii. Car'das explain best he could about the Aing-Tee and their abilities. Luke wondered if it was another form of the force but Car'das could not say. He did teach them a little of what he knew.

After they talked Entoo took them back to their ship so they could pack some stuff. Car'das had offered them rooms so they could stay and they could talk more. It also gave them time to search the library. They brought K4 back with them so he could help.

It was a couple days after they left when Han brought the Falcon out of hyperspace. In front of the Falcon was one of the worse looking star destroyiers around. Errant Venture. The only red star destroyer around.

"Errant Venture, Millian Falcon, requesting landing clearance."

"Sending landing instructions now."

Han and Chewie followed the beacon. Just as they were flying into the large ship Corran came in the cockpit.

"Why have we stopped at the Venture?"

"We are keeping you out of trouble. Mirax is coming with us. Booster will watch the kids."

"You want to leave my kids with Booster."

"Sure, why not. It was Mirax idea anyway."

"Booster is going to spoil them." Corran mumbled as he walked back out.

When Han landed he notice they were in Booster's private hanger. The Pulsar Skate was parked in the next spot over from where the Falcon was directed.

Corran was the first down the boarding ramp. He was greeted by his kids and wife.

"So you thought you would sneak off on an adventure and not tell me."

"Hey I got volinteered. Talk with Wedge. I left you a message but was not sure when you would get it."

"I got it but by that time Han had contacted my father. So I came beck here early. I got my stuff ready."

"I wish I had more time with you two but your mom and I got to go help a friend who might be in trouble."

"Daddy can we come?" Jysella asked.

"I'm sorry sweetheart but you will need to stay here and keep your grandfather out of trouble."

"Your more likely to find trouble where you are going. I knew of Jorj Car'das. Becarefull."

Corran figured the becareful was more for his daughter then him. After their good byes the Falcon entered hyperspace.

They where all seated in the in the lounge when Mirax asked for the story. They told her all they knew.

"So how is it you all manage to take off. I can understand Karrde and Chewie but 3 of you have jobs with the New Republic and Han does Leia know what you are doing?"

Iella replied. "I talked with Cracken. He cleared it with military command by telling them they were need for mission for him. He said he would not tell them what it was and would hold out informing Leia and those who might want to interfere. I don't think he is happy with some of the New Republics leaders at the moment. I got to come along as a NRI agent in charge of the mission."

"All I told Leia was that I was helping out Karrde. I think she knows it might be about Luke, but she was busy when I told her."

"You waited till the morning you left didn't you."

"I might have. She would not have been able to come and would have held us up with tones of questions that we have no answers for at the moment."

"How long to get there?"

"Tell you the truth we don't know for sure. We think about 4 days more of travel." answered Karrde.

"This will be fun. I hope you have some way to keep us all busy while we travel."

They all smiled and pulled out the cards.
