Charmy was smart. At least they were smart enough to find out a mystery. That was their area of expertise. Solving mysteries and crimes. Today the mystery was, who was their girlfriend spending all her time with? Not them obviously. She wouldn't always be in her workshop like usual. More being out and about. This wouldn't be abnormal if Eggman was around and causing chaos or someone else doing the same, but that wasn't the case. So Charmy investigated.

Pretty easily Charmy would say, they stayed outside her and Sonic's house until she left. Followed her, totally not in a stalker way. Then they saw her arrive at a building. Actually sneaking into the building was harder. But they managed. After a while of trying to get in they found a vent and crawled through it. Managing to get through to the other side where he hears conversation.

"Alright, a couple more tests and this should be all good!" The familiar voice of Tails says.

"Thanks for letting me help you." A more cowardly and subdued voice says.

"No problem, alright, ready for the next test?"

"Yes, Ma'am."

"You can just call me Tails."

"Yes, Ma-Tails"

"Close enough. Ready?"

"Yes!"

"Let's get this going then!"

By the time Charmy gets to the place where this conversation is coming from, they see Water being flowed through a tube with Tails on the outside.

"What is she do-" Charmy starts to say before falling to the ground when the vent from under them becomes loose. Causing them to fall to the ground. Guess they needs to work on his stealth. Espio was right, they guess.

"Charmy?" Tails turns and sees the fallen bee.

"Kit? Turn the simulation off." Tails says and Kit obeys her orders. Tails goes over and picks up Charmy.

"Charmy, are you okay?"

"What is this?"

"Well, this is the lab I rented out, remember?"

"What?"

"Well, you remember Kit right?" She says pointing to the other fox.

"Wasn't he trying to kill you?" Charmy says getting up and pointing an accusatory finger towards the fennec.

"Wait! I told you this, he's good now."

"…Oh"

"Charmy, you have got to listen more."

"Yeah well, I listen plenty, Not my fault you were never home when I came"

"Well I needed a bigger testing facility."

"Why didn't you tell me where it was?"

"I forgot, probably, sorry."

"All right, fine, all is forgiven, now let's talk about what you two nerds were doing before I got here." Charmy says standing back up.

"Well, Kit can explain it, I'll get stuff for your wounds…"

"Thanks, Tails!" Charmy waves her off

"Yeah, yeah."

"So, Kit, tell me, what's going on?"

"Oh, okay, well as you can see here…" Kit points to a blueprint and explains the entire process and what he and Tails were doing.

Tails comes back with the medical supplies to find Charmy listening to Kit? They don't usually listen to anyone besides her and they usually don't understand her. So she goes over to heal the bee's wounds.

"Hey Charmy, here you go, this might sting a little." Tails says and get a Cotton ball and some antibacterial liquid.

"Ow!" Charmy says and flings back

"I told you it would hurt."

"Yeah, yeah. Kit must've explained it well, seems you were actually listening."

"More like it actually made sense this time"

"Really? Kit?"

"Surge used to need me to explain concepts to her in a certain way. So I got used to translating in simpler terms."

Tails laughs.

"What's so funny?" Charmy asks

"Nothing, nothing. Kit, let's get back to work." Tails says and Kit follows her while Charmy sits back.

That was the first time Kit met Charmy. Before a relationship began to bloom between the two of them and Tails.
