Giratina and Xerneas had made it to the bottom of the ravine, where they were almost blinded by the bright yellow lava down there.

Xerneas kept looking around in disbelief every time they passed through the dead trees in the ruins of the forest down at the ravine. "Everywhere we turn, there's nothing but ash and stone." She said to Giratina. "Even the trees that are here, there's nothing left of them except for blackened wood! How can this be our future?"

"I don't know…" Giratina said quietly. "The only guess we have is that it's because of Necro-" He was cut off when he saw a small flash of pink light in the corner of his eye. He turned around and saw a small clearing near the cliff of the ravine that had a large group of rocks all piled up in the center, with something red just at the bottom of the rocks that was giving off barely a faint bit of light. There, just barely sticking out of the rocks was a small pink pearl that was just barely glowing a small pale pink light.

Giratina held in his gasp. He had seen that stone one too many times.

Is that… The Lustrous Globe?

"You're kidding…" He whispered to himself and ran over to the stone pile. Had they already found something to get them back to the present already?

He looked closer and realized that it was the Lustrous Globe. Xerneas caught up to him and she gasped. The pink light reflecting in her eyes.

"The Lustrous Globe…" She whispered. "Why Isn't it with Palkia?"

"I don't know…" Giratina answered her, reaching out to remove one of the rocks. "But at least we have something to get us back to the present now."

"...Wait."

"W-what?"

Xerneas had a sick look on her face. "Gira, just… just be careful and don't freak out." She said to him. "There might be something- or someone under there."

Giratina felt his heart twist as he reached to remove the rock again.

Don't be Palkia. He prayed. Please don't be Palkia.

He lifted up the rock and immediately, he felt his heart stop.

Right under the rock, was a black wing that would've looked like shadows if it weren't for the dust that was covering it. There were three small red claws at the ends that almost seemed to be holding the Lustrous Globe, just barely not touching it.

A black wing that perfectly matched his own.

Giratina shot back in horror, frantically scooting back from the body. He wanted to scream, but all that came out were small gasps that kept getting cut off.

"Gira- could you please calm down?!" Xerneas cried out in a panic. "You might bring the ravine down on us!"

"I'm sorry- is now just not the right time to be surprised to find your own dead body!?" Giratina yelled back at her. Xerneas looked back at the body and winced. "Well, not to make this worse, but it seems you've been dead here for a long time." She said. "Something clearly killed you."

Giratina took his mind back to what the crystal showed him. His body was falling into a ravine when he, Arceus, Dialga, and Palkia were facing that yellow figure.

That was… wasn't that Necrozma? He thought. Did Dialga and Palkia meet a similar fate?

Are they still ok?

"Well, you can grab it now." Xerneas said, motioning him to take the Lustrous Globe. Giratina turned and glared at her. "W-what?! No, I'm not going anywhere near that. You go grab it."

Xerneas sighed, a hint of frustration in it but Giratina could tell that she was still worried about him. "Gira- you do realize I'm the Life Pokémon, right? I can't go near you without risking something happening!"

Giratina realized with a sicking feeling that she was right. A reason that Giratina didn't even want to think about. Slowly, he walked towards the body and reached out for the Lustrous Globe. Once he had it in his grasp, he yanked it away and scooted back to Xerneas as fast as he could.

"See?" Xerneas said once he was at her side, trying to sound reassuring. "That wasn't that bad, was it?"

"Let's go." Giratina said instantly. "I don't want to be near this place anymore."
