The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Prompt: "This isn't good."

"How can you tell?"

"See how they're slowly surrounding us? And they all have guns and knives and I think one guy is carrying a machete?"

"Well, this kinda sucks."

Jacoba sighed and rolled her eyes as she leaned slightly over the railing in order to ascertain the position of the target's goons during their current mission. This time, she and Galgo had been paired together, being charged with keeping the gangways (where they currently were) clear and ensuring that the rest of the team had clear paths to their intended targets. So far, that portion of their mission had been going pretty well. Unfortunately, there were a lot more goons to contend with than what Barney and Lee had seen when they had scouted out the mission, causing Jacoba and Galgo's job to be much harder than it should have been.

She was also unable to bring her sniper rifle along for this job. Apparently, it would not have been an appropriate choice of weapon for this particular mission, a fact that she disagreed vehemently with Church about, but she had been overruled. So, she was stuck using her backup weapon. At least her partner was actually keeping quiet as they had gone along. In fact, these were the only words that he had said the entire time. Leaning back again so that she wasn't visible over the railing, Jacoba shot Galgo a look of confusion, raising her eyebrow in the hopes that he would continue whatever line of thought that he had had without her having to pry the information out of him.

Luckily, he did. "We haven't seen many goons, as you called them, and the team has had smooth sailing. And, what?"

Jacoba was glaring at him before hissing back at him. "You just had to say that. And have you not been paying attention? There are at least double the number of goons than what Barn and Lee's original estimate was. And would you keep your voice down?! We aren't supposed to be noticed."

Galgo looked sheepish and apologetic. "Sorry, Amazon."

She just nodded in response as she peeked back over the railing again. Pulling back quickly, she began to mutter curses (in multiple languages) under her breath, glaring over at Galgo again. "This isn't good."

"What do you mean? And how can you tell?"

Jacoba gestured for him to look over the railing for himself as she hissed at him once again. "You see how they are slowly surrounding Luna, Thorn, Mars, and Smilee? And how they all have guns, knives, and I think that one guy is even carrying a machete?"

"Umm, yeah?"

"That is how I can tell that this isn't good. And that is why you should not have said that the team has had smooth sailing. Because things like this will happen."

"We need to help, don't we?"

"Yes, Galgo. We do. And we also need to give away our position." Glaring at her partner one last time, she raised her gun to take aim at the goons. "Just so you know, when Barney asks why things went to shit, I'm throwing you under the bus."

"What does that mean, Amazon?"

"I'm blaming you. Let's do this."
