Chapter Sixty-Seven
Well Again?
At the Autobot Base, after getting the formula and bridging Arcee, Donatello and Bumblebee back, Ratchet wasted no time in putting the formula together to cure Optimus.
Donatello wanted to help but Ratchet refused saying he needed to concentrate which annoyed the brainy turtle, but he understood that Ratchet needed all the focus he had to help the Prime.
It had taken over an hour but soon a cured and well again Optimus was helped off the berth with Ironhide and Ratchet assisting him.
"That's it, steady." Ratchet encouraged.
"One step at a time Prime!" Ironhide added.
The sound of clapping was soon heard from Arcee, Bumblebee and Bulkhead along with the overjoyed Hamato Clan.
"He's okay!" Kemeko cheered as she hugged Leonardo "He's okay Dad!"
"I knew he would be!" Michelangelo cheered.
Optimus gave a humble smile.
"Please." He said "reserve the hero's welcome for my physician." He gestured to Ratchet who gave an embarrassed smile.
"You rock Ratchet!" Donatello cheered.
"Where would we be without you?" Arcee quipped.
"Rusting to the Pit for all I know!" Ironhide shrugged "That's the truth Doc!" he smirked "We'd be fragged for sure!"
The Prime then turned to Bumblebee.
"And my Scout." He added to which everyone looked to Bumblebee.
"Oh yeah! Bee's the man!" Pandora shouted.
"The One who entered Megatron's mind and found the cure!" Bulkhead cheered.
"You're a rockstar!" Raphael cheered.
"Simply the Best!" Michelangelo cheered "Better than all the rest!"
"Better than anyone!" Pandora sang along.
Bumblebee bleeped and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Nothing?" Arcee asked "it was nothing? You're too humble."
"You shouldn't be humble Bee!" Pandora called up "You saved the Big O's life! You entered unknown territory and faced the evillest Warlord on your planet to get that cure, and you're like, it was nothing?"
"Little Geisha." Splinter spoke up "Feeling humble is not a bad trait, and often one must not soak in the glory and become arrogant, the best way to respond to such praise is to be humble and not milk it."
"Your grandfather is right." Monalisa spoke up "It is always better when one is humble about his good deeds and heroism."
Pandora bit her lip and she looked sheepish.
"I guess your right mum." She said, "But when the time comes Cybertron is revived and the heroes are rewarded, Bumblebee should be up there!"
"And he will Lass." Ironhide smirked "No doubt about that! He might not be a warrior yet, but he has the spark of a true soldier the Elite Guard would be proud to have!"
He clapped his servos again and everyone joined in to praise Bumblebee who again looked a little shy and Pandora and Kemeko ran over to which he knelt and opened his servos to pick them up and brought them up to his face so they could hug him which made everyone gush and smile.
"Awww! How adorable!" Michelangelo said taking out his phone and taking a few pictures.
"It seems the youngest of our organic friends have taken a great liking as well as bonded with our scout Prime." Ironhide pointed out.
"Indeed Ironhide." Optimus said, "It is a very touching sight, I am very happy for Bumblebee that he has found some close friends in his charges."
Ratchet nodded.
"He keeps them out of trouble, especially the young Hybrid." He muttered.
As everyone else watched Leonardo looked up at Optimus feeling relieved that his friend was okay.
He walked over to Prime who sat down near the raised platform.
"I can't tell you how soothed my soul is to know you are well again Prime." He said bowing to him.
"And I am soothed to be well again Leonardo." Optimus replied and lowered his hand to the turtle to which he climbed into it and the Prime brought him up, so he was level with his face.
"I'll admit Prime." Leonardo confessed "I was scared, I thought we were gonna lose you, you and Bumblebee after what he went through to save your life."
Optimus gave a sympathetic smile.
"It is the sad part of war, that not everyone makes it home." He said, "But I was glad I made it this time, just like that time in the Arctic."
"That was a close shave." Leonardo agreed.
Optimus looked over at the Hamato Clan and his team, and he saw that Ratchet had his back turned to him and he slowly turned away from them to speak privately to Leonardo.
"If one can be honest Leonardo." He said softly "I too felt fear, I did not want to depart this world, and leave my team, my soldiers, to fight this war alone, we might not be on a giant battle field just like on Cybertron, shooting and striking down any Decepticons that came at us, but we are fighting a war regardless, and I took the oath to lead the Autobots on the path to fight for peace, it was all I ever wanted."
Leonardo looked up at the Prime and looked into his ice blue optics.
They were nothing like human eyes, nor of a mutant, but he could see so much within them, he could see that the Prime had gone through the stress of War, suffering losses, working tirelessly to give commands and orders, but also there was hope, hope that they would make it and they would win the war and they could bring a new age to their planet, and those like Bumblebee and to an extent Arcee and others like them would experience the Planet how they should live on it, a free and liberating life without fear of war or hate.
"I know you have a lot of questions Leonardo." Optimus spoke "And I will glady answer them, we will speak privately when we have a chance."
Leonardo smiled and knelt in Optimus's palm and bowed.
"I will be honoured Prime." He said, "And I will speak to no-one of our conversations, unless you wish to speak of them to others."
Optimus smiled at the turtle.
"And I trust you completely Leonardo." He replied.
Just then, the proximity alarm went off making everyone stop celebrating and cut Optimus and Leonardo's conversation short.
Ratchet turned to the screens and a video appeared to show Fowler's jet landing on the top of the Silo.
"It's Agent Fowler." He reported.
"He must be back with news!" Michelangelo said excitedly.
"Along with Tyroth and Sephie!" Pandora countered.
"Oh man, I wonder how it went?" Raphael asked.
"Guess we'll find out soon." Donatello said as he saw the lights on the elevator appear.
"Then lets us not hesitate." Splinter suggested as he walked up to the raised platform.
"I will make some tea."
"And I'll prepare snacks." Michelangelo volunteered as he followed his master.
"I'll help!" Pandora offered as she followed her uncle.
After a few minutes, Fowler soon arrived with Tyroth and Sephie.
Fowler was looking rather drained and pale, yet Tyroth and Sephie looked rather satisfied.
Monalisa instantly ran over.
"Sephie?" she asked, "How did it go?"
Sephie chuckled.
"Wow little sis!" she said, "Have we got news for you!"
Tyroth was smirking a little as he walked in and the Autobots and the Hamato Clan didn't know whether to feel pleased or worried.
"Dare I ask?" Raphael inquired.
Fowler sat on the sofa and Splinter offered him some tea which he took gratefully.
"I have to admit." He said, "Your two friends here made a huge impression on my bosses."
"Did they now?" Donatello asked.
"Oh, they did!" Fowler said, "In fact it's the first time I saw General Bryce look scared, and nothing knocks him back!"
Bulkhead looked amused, as did Ironhide.
In fact seeing Fowler looking the way he did, they were more than amused as it gave them pleasure to see the agent get knocked down a peg or two especially after all the grief he had given them in the years since they arrived on Earth.
"Let's break out the engex." Ironhide said to which Bulkhead nodded and turned to Arcee who went to find a few cans to share.
Pandora looked rather smug as she gazed at her dragon uncle.
"Looks like you put a few people in their place Uncle T." she thought to herself, and she glanced at Kemeko who looked a little worried.
Tyroth meanwhile walked over to the sofa and sat next to Fowler who was still tense and sipping his tea.
"Gather around guys," he said, "We'll tell you everything."
Pandora and Michelangelo looked at each other and grinned.
"This we got to hear!" Pandora chuckled.
"For sure Kiddo!" Michelangelo agreed "Let's hear how Big T handled the Big boys!"
"I am too intrigued to know what went on." Optimus spoke up as he placed Leonardo on the raised platform with his family.
"Please, explain what occurred."
Sephie agreed.
"Of course Prime." She said then gestured with her hands.
"Come on guys, gather around."
Right away the Hamato Clan gathered around the sofa and took their share of drinks as they sat to listen.
The Autobots at the same time took the chance to enjoy some engex or plain energon whilst they sat and listened to Tyroth and Sephie.
"This is going to be interesting." Arcee smirked.
"Darn tootin' its gonna be!" Ironhide agreed.
"I do enjoy a good story!" Bulkhead said.
"I hate to admit it, but I am curious to hear as well." Ratchet spoke up.
"It's going to be informative, that's a fact." Optimus said as he stepped closer to the platform.
Bumblebee meanwhile was silent as he stood by the raised platform and watched the Hamato Clan as they gathered around the platform to listen.
Since returning from the Nemesis after completing his quest, he had felt rather funny, as if something wasn't quite right with him, and he could feel something within his brain, something that was not making him think straight, not feel like himself...
Back on the Nemesis, it had been a few hours since the incident with the Cortical Patch and Starscream returned to the Medical Wing to check in on Megatron.
He walked through the sliding doors to see Knock Out monitoring the computers that were hooked up to Megatron's Life Support.
"And how is the Patient doing today?" he asked to which Knock Out turned to him.
"Funny you should ask." He said, "Not sure what the bots did in there, but Megatron's registering zero brainwave activity." He reported showing the Seeker the screen showing that Megatron's mind was pretty much dormant given no waves showing up.
Starscream looked at the screens then looked at Megatron's body then at Knock Out.
"Meaning?" he questioned.
"Physically he's stable." Knock Out confirmed "Physically, he's stable, but now there's no-one home..."
Thank goodness Optimus is well again! And everyone is pleased!
Now Fowler has returned along with Tyroth and Sephie to give the report on how things went with Fowler's Superiors, and they had no idea of what happened!
but meanwhile Bumblebee's feeling strange, I'm sure a lot of you can gues why!
Also, I'm sure a lot of you saw the lyrics to Tina Turner's Famous song that Michelangelo and Pandora were cheering along to when praising Bumblebee.
'The Best!' Always a catchy song! lol!
