A/N: wow sorry everyone. I have not had a laptop in for like ever but now I have a new one and can update more often ^^ so, with that explanation, here's chapter 44 ^^

Chapter 44: Not Out of the Forest Yet

As the Pegasi and Alicorns drew closer to Ponyville, the Ponyvillians and Cloudsdalians all were still around Lucky's body, but one had looked up and saw everypony returning. It is now noon, just before they left the city, Celestia had raised the sun. Everypony in Ponyville's Town Square were holding their breaths, searching for the telltale sign of Lucky's soul returning. As the Pegasi and Alicorns drew near, somepony saw Lucky's soul. "Lucky's soul was found!", the pony shouted, then the ponies all cheered. Everypony arriving in Town Square grinned, and then landed when they reached the ground. The riders got off their backs and then hugged everypony. The Pegasi and Alicorns who carried riders, also hugged everypony.

Well, except for 2, the DMS members. When the hugging ceased, everypony turned to Lucky's soul. Lucky's soul went up to her body. "Um... I should not be this color. I'm almost white, and with my dark-ish coat, that ain't good. When I get back in my body, I suggest you doctors get me to the ICU stat and on machines and IV's and I think I need a blood transfusion. How badly did I bleed?" Nurse Redheart went up to her and said, "Very bad. Have you noticed how much blood is on your mom, ma, and marefriend? Plus the blood on me and the other doctors' hooves." Lucky then got a good look at everypony. "Oh... then yeah, I will definitely need a transfusion. You do know my blood type, right?" Redheart nodded, "We got your blood type by taking some of your blood off me and ran it through a machine." Lucky smiled, "Good. Well, I have no idea if I will regain consciousness immediately or not, but if I don't well, just know I definitely will come back to you all again sometime eventually. See you guys!"

Lucky's soul then went back into her body. Immediately her color came back, though she still looked quite pale. The doctors and Redheart acted immediately, taking her into the hospital and hooking her up to iv's, machines, and then they got Lucky's blood type transfusion bags and hooked them up to her. Lucky was in critical condition. Her chest and forelegs were stitched up, they were able to do that easily in the Town Square, but being with no soul, it was futile to get her to the hospital and hook her up to everything. Now that her soul is back and she is alive and out of near death, she was able to get to the hospital and into the right care and everything. Only family and the three Princesses were able to stay in the room with her and the doctors. The friends all went home, well, except the three DMS members. They went with Spitfire, Vinyl, and Octavia to Vinyl's and Octavia's home.

"Wow, I didn't know she was that bad. Midnight really made a stupid move, using that spell... dumb flank...", Camo said. The other two nodded in agreement. "Yeah, our Princess is precious to us Ponyville and Cloudsdale ponies. She's like family. We've known her ever since she was 5. She grew near and dear to our hearts, the precious little filly she was. She's grown up mostly now and is getting taller by the year. She is also definitely grown up by the way she talks and acts.", Octavia said. Maisie smiled sadly, "Yeah... I have a little sister back in the city and I know how it is to have a precious little filly to love. Also, who are her parents?" Spitfire said, "Applejack and Rainbow Dash. Honesty and Loyalty respectively. They're Elements of Harmony personified. Applejack is the Earth Pony with blood on her, and the Pegasus with blood on her is Rainbow Dash. The white Unicorn with blood on her is Lucky's marefriend, Sweetie Belle."

"The Princess has a marefriend?", Bella asked surprised. The three ponies who know Lucky nodded. The three DMS members looked at each other, surprised. The three ponies who know Lucky grinned. "Huh, Princess has guts to be in a same gender relationship. In our city, ponies don't go for that sort of thing.", Bella said. "Well, then your city is not a very accepting city. Ponyville is very accepting towards that kind of thing. Hay, Octavia and I are a couple.", Vinyl said proudly. Octavia smiled at Vinyl. "Polar opposites I assume? Rock, rap, hiphop versus classical.", said Camo. The two grinned and nodded. "I myself actually, now seeing the Pegasus here, would like to get to know her better, if she's not taken." Spitfire thought about it a moment. This stallion is camouflage colors, dark green and brown, pretty handsome, so, maybe she could try dating him, though she'll want to know his age first...

"First off, how old are you?" Camo answered, "I'm 30." Spitfire nodded, "Alright, then, I think I could give you a chance." Camo smiled, "You won't regret this miss..." Spitfire grinned. "Spitfire." Camo nodded. With Lucky's Aunts, Sweetie, and the three Princesses, they're at Lucky's bedside, 5 to each side. Rainbow at Lucky's head on the left side, AJ across from Rainbow. Sweetie next to Rainbow, Pinkie across from her, Rarity next to Sweetie, Twilight across from her, Celestia next to Rarity, Cadance across from her, Luna next to Celestia, Fluttershy across from her. So, facing Lucky's bed it goes: left side: Rainbow, Sweetie, Rarity, Celestia, and Luna. Right side: Applejack, Pinkie, Twilight, Cadance, and Fluttershy. "Oh, I hope Lucky gets better soon...", Sweetie said.

"She will, everything's ok now Sweetie.", Rarity said, putting a foreleg around her little sister. Sweetie nodded, leaning into her older sister. "It's so lucky she didn't die, but then again, we had a pretty good team searching for her soul.", said Fluttershy. "Of course it was lucky! She's the Princess of being lucky! Also, her name is Lucky, so that makes it even more lucky!", Pinkie says happily and excitedly. Then Rose, Sunflower, and Flower came in, they had gone home to prepare flowers for Lucky's bedside and they sent a letter to Las Pegasus to alert Lucky's other Aunt, Uncle, and cousin and one to Baltimare to her grandparents. Flower put the vase of flowers on the table next to Lucky's bed. Applejack smiled, "Those're beautiful Flower. Thank you, and to yer parents." The three smiled, "Thank you for the compliment on the flowers, and you're welcome.", Black Rose said.

Flower hovered over Lucky, while Rose went next to Luna and Sunflower next to Fluttershy. "We've also sent out a letter to Lucky's other family in Las Pegasus and Baltimare.", Sunflower said. "Thank you.", Rainbow said. Granny Smith, Big Mac, Cheerilee, and Apple Bloom all came in with a fruit basket they prepared and set it next to the flowers. "Thank ya kindly y'all. Though we're not sure how long Lucky'll be like this... we hope she'll wake up soon.", Applejack said. Then the machine started beeping. Flower flattened her ears and covered them and flew to and out the door. "Uh-oh... that doesn't sound good. Nurse!", Rarity said. Nurse Redheart came in and looked at the machine. "Uh-oh. Her respiratory is going low, her breathing is getting shallow. Midnight must have hit something when he cut her. We need to do tests and if necessary, surgery."

The ponies gathered at her bed all went out of the room and to Flower so that Redheart can get Lucky out of there and into the x-ray room and MRI and/or CAT scan. "Never thought I'd see the day she would be like this... Never thought she would ever be like this really... our little filly...", Rainbow said tearfully. Applejack went over to her and nuzzled her. "Ah know, Ah never thought Ah'd see the day either, but she'd run into some bad luck 'n that happens. Lucky can be good or bad, and this is the second bit o' bad luck she's run into in her life.", she said. Rainbow nodded, understanding. Sweetie lowered her head and prayed that she be ok and that the doctors can fix her. "Lucky's soul never told them that she might have an actual wound on her lung or wherever. Maybe she didn't know or couldn't feel it in soul form?", Pinkie asked. The others just shrugged.

A long time from then cause the writer has never had that sort of thing done to her or seen that kind of thing done so saying a long time from then, Lucky comes back, Midnight had nicked her lung through a rib, by douche bag luck he cut in the space between her ribs and just nicked her lung, so the doctors found that out and she had surgery done to stitch it up. Now she needs a breathing tube for a little bit until the stitches dissolve. They used dissolving stitches. "Aw man... She's in even worse shape... I can't see her like this...", Fluttershy says looking down and away. Rarity put a foreleg around her shoulders and nuzzled her, then kept her cheek against Fluttershy's. The other 4 of the Elements all group hugged the two. Then the others group hugged the 6. "Hey, what do you say about getting something to eat? We haven't had breakfast or lunch yet. I'm getting pretty hungry. It is almost supper too. Then we can come back after we eat.", Cadance said.

The others nod. So they left the hospital. "Do we go home or what do we do?", Sweetie asked. "Granny, can they come ta our place 'n have supper? Then we don't hafta split up in our time o' sadness.", Apple Bloom asked. Granny thought about it. "Well... Ah guess they could come over." Apple Bloom smiled. "Thanks Granny! Ah'll help make the food 'n everything. Big Mac, Cheerilee, Applejack, will y'all help too?" Applejack, Mac, and Cheerilee nodded. "Of course. What're we makin'?", Mac asked. "Hmm, how about spaghetti?" The others smiled. "That sounds good.", Flower said. "Then it's settled, 'n we'll all eat outside ta accommodate us all.", AB said. The others all nodded. They then went to the farm. So, they all ate and went back to the hospital until 9 when visiting hours are over.

~2 days later~

Lucky's grandparents and other the other three family from Las Pegasus arrived and then Black Rose finally got to meet her brother, his wife and their daughter. So everypony is at the hospital, visiting Lucky, who's still out. "Oh man... a breathing tube? Things are getting horrible around here...", Fire Dancer said. The letters told everything that happened to Lucky. "Good thing though that you guys got the other members of the DMS.", Lucky's Uncle said. The ponies all nodded.

~6 months later~

Lightning is now in the hospital, in the maternity ward. Thunder, Ice Dancer, Golden, and Harper are outside waiting. Thunder is very excited about being an Aunt. She also can't wait to see what the foal will be and who it'll look like. Her parents are excited to be grandparents and also can't wait to see what the foal will be and who it'll look like. Even what race it'll be. The father is a Unicorn, as said before, and so they wonder if it'll be a Pegasus or a Unicorn. A few minutes later, they hear the baby's cries. Lightning had been in labor a while, so it was time for the baby. In the room, the midwife says, "It's a Unicorn filly!" Lightning looked at Citrus smiling. "It's a Unicorn filly." Then after the baby got cleaned up and stuff, she was given to Lightning to hold. "She has my coat color and mane color, but where does she get this red streak from?", Lightning said. "My great grandfather has red in his mane.", Citrus explained. "Ah, I see. Well, now for the name. How about Neon Flash?"

Citrus smiled, "That's a great name Lightning." Lightning smiled happily. "Thanks. Can my family come in now?", she asked. "Yes, they can." The midwife goes to the door and lets the family in, after saying it's a Unicorn filly. "Oh Lightning, she looks just like you, except for the horn and red streak in her mane, but other than that exactly like you. So, what did you name her?", Harper asked. "Neon Flash." Thunder smiled. "Cute name. Can't wait to see what she can do when she gets older." Lightning giggled, "Yeah really. She'll probably do great things." Golden nodded, "We'll see."
