A/N: sorry everyone for the suuuuuuuuuuper long wait :( my laptop got epically broke and it took forever for me to get it in to the HP place so they can fix it but I finally got it back and now I can start writing again, yay! ^^ ok, so here's the newest chapter for Lucky ^^ oh, and my I key is not working right, so after I spell check and you notice i's are missing, that's why. Also, my eye does miss some still after I read over... so that's another reason, but if the majority are missing i's lol, that's why.
Chapter 48: Lucky's Old Foalsitter
Lucky is walking in the park with Sweetie Belle, talking to her and stuff, admiring the park and all that. "So, the remaining DMS members... I know they're around Hoofington somewhere. They kept moving their secret meeting places and their hiding places so I can't tell where they're gonna end up next.", Lucky said. "That is a problem... How will we defeat them or make them nice or whatever if we never know where they are?", Sweetie asked. Lucky just shrugged. "Wish I knew... but all we gotta do is keep looking. Maybe I should get an apartment in Hoofington for the time being until they all are brought to justice or reformed like Discord was." Sweetie looked like she didn't like that idea.
"If I did, maybe you could come with me. That is, if it's ok with Pearl and Magnum. I know I'm only 16 and stuff, but I'm a Princess, I should be allowed to do that kind of thing, even if it is outside of Ponyville and I'm only Ponyville's Princess. I care about everypony in the world, I should be able to do things for those other ponies outside of Ponyville too." Sweetie smiled. "Spoken like a true Princess.", Vinyl said. Lucky and Sweetie turned around to see Vinyl and Octavia smiling proudly. Lucky blushed. Sweetie and Octavia giggled and Vinyl chuckled. "I'll betcha Princess Celestia would agree. How about you write a letter to her saying exactly what you just said?", Vinyl asked.
Lucky pondered that a moment. "Y'know, maybe I will. Y'never know, she might agree and let me, then also I'd hafta tell my parents about it so they know where I am if Celestia does agree with me and let me.", Lucky said, then chuckled, "I'm pretty much a go to Princess for outside jobs.", she added. The others grinned. Lucky then went home and started on the letter, saying exactly what she said in the park. Then they went on a search for Spike, found him at Sweet Apple Acres just hanging out. "Hey Spike, could you deliver this letter to Celestia please?", Lucky asked. "Sure Princess." He took the letter and sent it with his fire. "Thanks very much.", Lucky said.
"No problem. What was it about if I may ask?", he asked. "Oh, just me going into Hoofington a while until the DMS members are either reformed or put in prison.", Lucky said. "Oh, well, if you can, good luck." Lucky smiled, "Thanks." He nodded. After a bit, the reply came. It said:
Dear Lucky,
I appreciate your offer and I'm very happy that you feel that way. You are a true Princess Lucky, you are very loyal. I will allow you to go to Hoofington until the DMS members are either reformed or arrested. Good luck and Luna and I will check up on you with the others often and you may take Sweetie Belle with you if it's ok with her parents.
Princess Celestia
"Awesome, she's letting me do it and bring you with me. So, now I just gotta pack and we can ask Pearl and Magnum if you can come with me." Sweetie smiled. "I hope they do say yes. It would be really awesome.", she said. "Yeah, it would, then I wouldn't be lonely and I would have somepony I know with me. Oh Spike, thank goodness ma and mom are in Canterlot, so that either Celestia or Luna could deliver the letter to them, so could you send and receive one last letter?", Lucky asked. "Sure Princess." Lucky smiled and then wrote a letter to AJ and Rainbow telling them about her staying in Hoofington with Sweetie Belle possibly and stuff. Then Spike sent it and Lucky thanked him. When the letter came back after a bit, it said ok, be careful, and that they wished they were there to say goodbye until she came back and they know the other 4 of the mane 6 would wish they were there to say bye too. Lucky smiled and then went to pack. Sweetie helped her. Then after they were done with that, they went to ask Pearl and Magnum if Sweetie could go with her. They said she could.
"Yay! Thanks mom and dad! You guys are the best!" Sweetie hugged them. "You're welcome.", Pearl said. "Who are we to separate you two? We don't know how long Princess Lucky is going to be, and besides, she is 16 after all and you're 18, you could keep watch over her as a sort of guardian. You are old enough to be out on your own and all and by law you're an adult.", Magnum said. Lucky's ears went back, "But I'm a Princess, and I've been through what most adults haven't been through, what with encountering that Midnight Ranger and all and also, I've been working, technically, as a Princess ever since I was 5, by my own choice. I've been a working member of the community since that young." Magnum said, "Right, sorry Princess. I guess I just want to forget the almost tragedy of losing our youngest Princess and our friend."
"I understand, but do remember that I have been through the big fight defending our fair town and every pony in it and that makes me qualified to look after myself, at least in my mind.", Lucky said. "But wouldn't that be all the more reason to have guards for you?", Sweetie asked. Lucky sighed. "I suppose, but I'd rather not, besides, I live at home still with my moms. I don't really need guards when I have 2 Elements of Harmony as my parents." Sweetie grinned, "Good point, though I mean after you move out on your own." Lucky's ears went back once more. "Yeah... though, if I'm Ponyville's Princess, I need a castle of my own, instead of having just an office in Town Hall. Though, I don't think there's any room for a castle in Ponyville...", Lucky said. Sweetie got to thinking there. "What're you thinking about Sweetie Belle?" Sweetie looked at Lucky, "Nothing yet, let's go to my room so I can pack then we can get going." Lucky raised an eyebrow, but went with her to help her pack. "It'll be fun being roommates. Though... as one of the DMS members said, ponies in Hoofington don't take to our kind easily... our kind being two marefriends... so we have to play it cool out in public. Nothing too close or anything to make them think we're marefriends.", Lucky said.
Sweetie nodded. Then when she was done, they said bye to her parents and bye to everypony else and Lucky made sure that the Mayor could handle watching over Ponyville after not having done so for 11 years. She said she would be able to and Lucky nodded. They went to the bank so Lucky could draw out most of what she had and told the banker that she was going to live in Hoofington for a while, she didn't know how long and that she would need to get a bank there, but she'll keep this one open for when she comes back. Then they went to the train station and got their train tickets. "Well Hoofington, I'm coming back, though, as a real pony this time.", Lucky said as she sat down with Sweetie. Sweetie put a hoof on her shoulder. Lucky draped her wing over Sweetie's back in a wing hug and kept her wing where it was, the whole train ride there, which when she brought her wing back to her body, it was achey.
They got their luggage when they exited the train and then went to the Town Hall in Hoofington to find out where apartments for rent for two are. Lucky has her crown and Princess necklace on so ponies know she's a Princess. The pony looked at them suspiciously after bowing to Lucky. "We're just best friends is all. Nothing more. We're like sisters." The pony kept her look on them and then accepted that. She gave them tours of a few apartments and the 2nd one they decided on. Lucky then gave security deposit and first month's rent. The pony told them that they need to visit the water, electric, and sewer place so they could get that turned on and stuff. She told them how much it would be and Lucky nodded. They went to do that and gave the amount, then went to the post office to change their address, then to a bank close by to their apartment and opened an account there and Lucky deposited most of her money in there then they went back to the apartment and set their stuff down.
Lucky rummaged for paper, quills, and ink so she can write her new address for the post office in Ponyville so they know where to send her mail. When she found them she did just that and also wrote letters to everypony giving her address and saying she would love to get letters from them sometimes, then brought the letters to the post office after having written all them letters. Then they went home to put things where they wanted them, then they went to get at least beds and a couch. Then they could have somewhere to sit and sleep cause it was getting close to supper time and they needed beds and at least a couch for tonight. Then tomorrow they could get more things. So after they got the three things, they put the beds on either side of the room and the couch in the living room. When they finished doing that, they went out for dinner. They went to a hayburger restaurant. That way it would be inconspicuous. They ordered and went to a table when they got their food and drinks. They sat down. - ((sarcastically) wow, really thrilling sentence XD lol. only 3 words XD) "So, we're finally moved in thank goodness... just need the rest of the things and we'd be all set.", Lucky said.
"Yeah, can't wait to officially finish moving in. It's a pain moving out of the house for the first time... and also, I need to find a job here... maybe I could sing at the fancy restaurant here.", Sweetie said. "Yeah, that would be cool. Oh, you'd have to give your 2 weeks notice to your job in Ponyville too. Cause we definitely will be here a while.", Lucky said. Sweetie nodded and they ate and when they were completely done, they went home and when they arrived, they sat on the couch and cuddled up. "Today was definitely exhausting, running all over Hoofington to do our errands...", Lucky said and Sweetie nodded, agreeing. They talked a while and then went to bed. The next morning they woke up, went out for breakfast and then went for the rest of the things they need. They did grocery shopping last. When they got their groceries put away, they were very happy. They had gone to the cable company and got cable set up for their TV.
"Yeah, all moved in! I should write everypony and tell them we're all moved in.", Lucky said, and followed up with that sentence. She put the letters in the mailbox so the mail pony can get them. Then she sat on the couch and turned the TV on. "I think we need to rest after all that ramming around. We can do our walks in like, 3 days." Sweetie giggled. "Not quite 3 days, but I agree, we do need a rest. It has been pretty hectic trying to get everything done." Lucky nodded. 2 days later they go for a walk in the local park. There's a playground for the foals, a nice pond and benches around the pond, and a garden. Lucky absolutely loved it. "This is amazing. Too bad Ponyville's park isn't as big as this. I would love a pond like this with benches around it. Though I do love our beautiful garden." Sweetie nodded.
"Yeah, I wish we could expand Ponyville...", she said. Lucky nodded. "Maybe that could be a future project or something. If we could get granted more land or if we take down some of the trees to the Everfree Forest, though maybe going only 10 rows in... don't wanna go too far. Or maybe at the North or West end we could do the expansion, so that we can leave the forest alone. Or maybe the Northwest end. Or all 3? Oooo, so much to think about.", Lucky said. "That would be cool! I hope that can happen.", she said. They sat at a bench in front of the pond. They see a stallion walk by, and he seemed to recognize Lucky, well... obviously he would cause she's known all over Equestria, but more than recognizing a Princess. He goes up to them and Lucky gets defensive on accident. "Lucky, what's wrong?", Sweetie asked. Lucky blushed and relaxed a little.
"Oh... sorry Sweetie Belle and you too sir... I just was through a rough time recently and I tend to get wound up with strange ponies approaching me..." Sweetie nodded understanding and he nodded, "It's alright. I've heard what happened. It was all over the papers. I'm glad you're ok... Lucky Ducky." Lucky tilted her head, then gasped as it dawned on her, "Oh my gosh! You're Bad Machine, my old foal sitter! It's been ages since I've seen you!" She goes up and hugs him. "It certainly has. You've grown up so much little one. Well... not so little now." Sweetie Belle is a little put off. "It's ok Sweetie, he's a good guy. Though his split personality is a little troublesome sometimes, but most of the time he's good." Machine nodded. "My other personality is insane. I've been looking for you for 3 months Lucky, I wanted to make sure you were alright. I have come from far away and just finally reached here."
"Really? Wow. Sweetie, he's also my first friend when I was a baby. He was my parents' friend and when I was born, he was happy for them. I have seen his insane side, but he always comes back to normal. If I remember, I don't think he's in it for too terribly long. He's also in the military and he can change his appearance whenever he can. That's pretty much his magical ability even though he's a Pegasus. It's baffling, but it's really cool.", Lucky said. Sweetie smiled, "That is pretty neat being able to change your appearance." Machine smiled. "It comes in handy in the military, I do say. I can become camouflage to blend with my surroundings.", he said. "That's really cool.", Sweetie said. "Hey, Machine. I am staying here in Hoofington with Sweetie Belle here so I can disband the Dark Magic Squad and either reform them or put them in prison. Dunno how long that'll take, but do you have a place here?" He nodded. "Cool, then we'll be seeing you around then, that's awesome." He smiled.
"We were talking about expanding Ponyville before you came up to us. I was thinking the North, West, Northwest, or all 3 we could expand it to.", Lucky said. "Wow. Quite the decision Princess.", he said Princess as a good natured joke. Lucky poked her tongue out at him in response, jokingly of course. "Yeah. I'm starting to think if it might be worth it in the end. I'd have to first talk it over with Granny Smith for one, as her family founded Ponyville, and the Mayor, and possibly Princess Celestia, as she gave the land to Granny's family." Machine seemed interested. "You know the founder of Ponyville?" Lucky nodded, "Everypony in Ponyville knows her, but me especially cause she's my great granny. Her granddaughter Applejack is my ma." Machine smiled. "Glad to hear you have a family again. I know this is 11 years late, but sorry for your loss." Lucky smiled and hugged him. "Thanks Machine. She also was my first friend here in Ponyville. So it was pretty neat when she told me she had adopted me."
"I'll bet. So, I also hear from the news that your other parent is female as well, Rainbow Dash?" Lucky nodded, and looked down, but raised her eyes so she's still looking at him. "Are you one of those ponies who are not accepting and mean to the LGBTQ community?" Machine put his hoof on Lucky's chin and made her look at him, "Lucky, you don't have to worry, I'm not that type to judge. I've known you since you were born remember? Nothing about you will ever change that, nor change our friendship." Lucky smiled and hugged him hard, which hurt a bit, her not him. "Thanks for that Machine. I appreciate that dearly. Now, knowing that, I can say that Sweetie Belle here is my marefriend." Machine grinned. "Congrats on that. Also, congrats on your moms' wedding. I also heard from the grapevine that you were the overseer for another 2 pair of mares' wedding?", he asked. "Yup! My aunts', Rarity and Fluttershy and Twilight and Pinkie.", Lucky said proudly. "Good job by the sounds of it. They'd be on honeymoon at the moment?" Lucky nodded, then noticed Machine is starting to not look good.
"You might want to go home Machine, I think you're getting your other personality out. I'll see you tomorrow." Machine nodded then flew off after saying good bye. "He was so nice! I'm so glad I met him and it's really cool he was your old foal sitter." Lucky smiled. "Yeah, I'm so happy I got to see him! Like I said, it has been ages since I've seen him. He's still his old self." Sweetie then remembered, "Lucky Ducky?", she asked giggling. Lucky blushed, "It was an old nickname for me when I was younger." Sweetie just kept smiling. Then Lucky noticed movement in one of the flower gardens. She looked confused, then Sweetie looked over there too.
