Chapter 49: New Foal on the Block
Lucky cautiously went to the garden. She parted some of the flowers. The movement in the garden turned out to be a young filly. She was orange with a red and yellow mane. She looked to be about 3. "Well hey little one. What are you doing in here?", Lucky asked. She looked up at her. "Notin'.", she replied. "Did you lose your parents?", Lucky asked. She just shook her head. Lucky is now confused. "Then why are you here by yourself?", she asked. The filly just said nothing. 'Not very talkative', Lucky thought to herself. "Do you have a name?", Lucky tried. The filly nodded. "Pywo Heart.", she said. "I like that name, it's cute.", Lucky said. "Tanks I guess." Lucky raised an eyebrow, 'I guess'? "Well, where are your parents? I could take you to them.", Lucky said. "Dey're in a meeting." Lucky tilted her head, "So, where's your foalsitter then?", Lucky asked.
"I don't hab one." Lucky sighed and lowered her head like, 'really?'. 'That's really irresponsible parenting.', Lucky thought to herself. 'Though, at least it's not as bad as Thunder and Lightning's situation 8 years ago, poor girls. Though this is still wrong.' "Where is their meeting at? I'll take you to them myself and have a talk with them myself about this irresponsibleness. Though I'll wait until their meeting is over. It's still rude to interrupt.", Lucky said. Pyro sighed, really hoping that the older pony would let her stay in the flowers. Pyro led the older pony to where her parents' meeting is though. The older pony's friend came too. Great... one more pony to ruin her fun. When they arrived, Lucky tilted her head. "This is the meeting place? Quite run down, ain't it?" Pyro shrugged. "Yeah, but evewypony tinks it's da perfect meeting pwace.", she said.
Lucky then became suspicious with that statement. "Could your parents be a part of the Dark Magic Squad perhaps?" Pyro's eyes widened, "How did you know dat? I gotta go!" She darted into the building, no doubt alerting the DMS. Lucky looked at Sweetie Belle, a determined look on her face, Sweetie had the same look and nodded. They followed the filly inside, though the filly did have a head start. They had a hard time figuring out where the DMS would have been. Lucky then concentrated and tried to feel any presence other than Sweetie's. She could feel that the multitude of ponies were just leaving the building. Lucky lead Sweetie to the direction that the DMS are, but they were too late. "Horse apples! We missed them... so, that little filly is the daughter of two DMS members... I know which ones. I've seen them in my soul form when I was here the first time, didn't know they had a foal though."
"Really? Well, as you said, we just missed them... let's head back to the park.", Sweetie said. "Ok." They walked back to the park, Lucky disappointed that they missed the DMS members. "Don't be sad Lucky, we'll get them eventually." Lucky looked at her and rose an eyebrow. "Eventually? I'd rather get them sooner rather than later.", she said. "I know, but with that filly, they have a bit of an advantage over us. Also... it didn't seem like the filly knew you are a Princess." Lucky shrugged, "Better that she didn't know. Cause if the DMS knew I was looking for them, they'd really be on high alert." Sweetie thought about that and agreed. They reached the park and sat where they were before. "Also Sweetie, if you wanna get a job here, better be soon. Don't wanna wait too long." Sweetie nodded, "I'll do that in a few minutes actually." Lucky nodded.
"I hope I can sing at the fancy restaurant here. That would be awesome.", Sweetie said. "Yeah, it would.", Lucky agreed. A few minutes passed and Sweetie started her job hunt. Lucky stayed at the park until it was time for lunch, then she decided to try and practice the teleportation spell. She knew learning it herself was reckless, but she really wanted to try it. She closed her eyes and thought of her apartment, and being there, and concentrated really hard on it. Her horn glowed its mint blue aura and then with a semi-loud bang, she teleported. Though she teleported on the block her apartment is on. "Oooo, not bad!", she said and then walked. "I should tell everypony at home about this!" then she galloped the rest of the way and went to the apartment and wrote a letter to everypony about her teleportation.
"Aunt Twilight will scold me in letter, but oh well. It was worth it.", Lucky said and then chuckled. When she finished her letters, she put them in the mailbox and then went back inside to get lunch. She made tomato soup and grilled cheese, also made enough for Sweetie. After a long while, Sweetie Belle came in. Lucky pointed her to the lunch and Sweetie warmed it up and ate. "Thanks Lucky." Lucky nodded, then said, "Hey Sweetie, guess what? I teleported for the first time." Sweetie's eyes widened and when she was finished with the bite of grilled cheese, she asked, "You did? That's awesome!" Lucky nodded. "I teleported from the park to this street. I was trying to teleport in here, but it didn't work, but I was close enough!", she said. "Great job! Though Twilight might scold you if you told her." Lucky chuckled, "I wrote a letter to everypony telling them I teleported. I know Aunt Twilight will scold me." Sweetie giggled and shook her head and finished her lunch.
"So how'd the job hunt go?", Lucky asked. "I was able to get the job at the fancy restaurant, they were actually hiring singers. I got lucky." Lucky then grinned, "My luck is rubbing off on you." Sweetie grinned too. "That's a good thing.", she replied. "Unless you get my bad luck too... that would not be good." Sweetie shook her head and agreed. Then they heard a knock on the door. "Come in.", they both said. The door opened to reveal Celestia, Luna, the mane 6, and AB and Scooter. Lucky's eyes lit up. "Ma, mom, everypony!" Lucky went and hugged her moms first, then the others. Sweetie hugged Rarity. "Told you we'd be checking up on you.", Celestia. Lucky grinned, "Didn't doubt it for a second Celestia. So, how'd the honeymoons go?", Lucky asked the mane 6. "It was great.", Applejack said, and Rainbow agreed. "It was lovely, thank you for asking.", Rarity said, and Fluttershy nodded. "It was fun!", Pinkie said and Twilight smiled and agreed.
"How's living together by yourselves going so far?", Rainbow asked. "It's going great so far. We've had a run in with a daughter of 2 DMS members.", Lucky said. Everypony looked surprised. "Do tell.", Luna said. Everypony took a seat on the couch and floor. Lucky, Sweetie, and Celestia on the couch, Lucky sitting between Celestia and Sweetie, and the rest on the floor. Lucky told everypony about the first encounter, then the filly having led her and Sweetie to the building, but then when Lucky asked if her parents were part of the DMS, the filly looked worried and ran off to warn the DMS members and that Lucky and Sweetie were too late to catch them. "Wow... bad luck...", Rainbow said. Lucky nodded, disappointed. "You'll get them eventually.", Twilight said. "I hope so, and oh! I'll be right back."
Lucky hopped up and went to the mailbox and retrieved the letters for the other 2 ex-crusaders, mane 6, and the two Princesses and brought them in and handed the letters to their respective pony. The 10 of them opened the envelopes and read the letter inside. Pinkie, Twilight and Celestia were done first and Twilight looked at Lucky sternly. "Lucky, you should have waited until you came back to do the teleportation spell. I would have had you read about it then practice safety precautions and then tried you out on smaller distances then graduated to bigger distances.", Twilight lectured her. Lucky grinned sheepishly. "I couldn't wait, I really wanted to try it, and I did it, even though I didn't quite make it, but I was close." Twilight sighed and shook her head then congratulated her anyways.
"Thanks!" Everpony else congratulated her too. Lucky thanked them too. "Ah'm glad you're doin' good Lucky. Ah'm mighty proud o' ya.", Applejack said. Lucky smiled. "Thanks ma." Celestia smiled. "I too am proud of you Lucky. As I said in my letter to you on letting you and Sweetie Belle come here, you are a true Princess. You take your responsibilities seriously and your duty to your town, and even ponies outside the town. You are truly an inspiration." Lucky blushed and lowered her head. "Thanks...", she said quietly. "Hey guys, wanna stay for dinner?", Sweetie asked. That perked Lucky up. "I could make supper!", Lucky volunteered. The others all smiled. "Sure.", they said. "Yee-haw!", Lucky said, then went on to make it. Spaghetti with a side of salad, garlic bread, and applesauce and apple juice from Sweet Apple Acres.
Applejack recognized the label immediately and grinned. "Still have a taste from home huh?", she asked. Lucky nodded as she got things going. She's been working on a secret recipe for spaghetti sauce and she's hoping this will be perfected this time. When supper was almost done, there was a knock and Sweetie Belle answered. It was Pyro and the pony who got them their apartment. "Pyro? What... How did you find us?", Sweetie asked, confused. Lucky tilted her head and came out to see. "I went to Town Hall after askin' mama and papa about who da bwue pony was. Dey esplained evewyting and eben about what dey weally do and what DMS means... I didn't like when dey esplained what dey do... it sounds bad, so I wan away and asked da pony where you lived and she told me, and bwought me here. I told her I wanted to talk to you alone and dat's why I went dere witout my pawents. She didn't wike dat, but bwought me here herself and den as you can see, she went away when you opened da door. Can I come in?", Pyro asked.
Sweetie nodded and let the filly in. Pyro was amazed to see a lot of ponies in the room. "Who are dese ponies?", she asked. Sweetie introduced Pyro to everypony. Lucky had gone back in the kitchen after hearing Pyro's explanation. Lucky finished supper and called out to everypony. They all went in the kitchen, Pyro included, and got supper. Pyro hung back though, not wanting to take anything without asking. Lucky noticed this and asked her if she wanted supper too. Pyro simply nodded and Lucky got her some spaghetti, a tiny bit of salad, a half a piece of garlic bread, applesauce and apple juice. "Sorry that I don't have a sippy cup, if you still use one.", Lucky said. "It's ok. I tink I can use a cup... I hope." Lucky poured Pyro a half a cup, so as to not overwhelm the filly with a full cup with her first use of a big pony's cup. Everypony took a bite of spaghetti. "Mmmmm! Lucky this is good!", they all said. Lucky grinned. "I'm glad you all like it. My own secret recipe sauce."
"Whatever you did with the sauce, it is exquisite.", Rarity said. Lucky was proud. She tasted a little sauce before putting it on the spaghetti and it was indeed perfected. "Thanks very much Aunt Rarity. It finally came to perfection, and on such a great night." Pyro had now taken a bite and now showed her excitement at such a delicious meal and her horn sparked, an actual flame igniting spark that lit her napkin on fire. She squeaked out of surprise and Lucky acted fast, pouring her own apple juice on the now on fire napkin. That extinguished it. Lucky and the others all looked at Pyro with wide eyes. Pyro looked ashamed and embarrassed and sheepish all at the same time. "Oh my gosh...", was all anypony could say. "Sowwy... I do dat sometimes... mama and papa get mad cause it destwoys tings but I can't help it... it comes wike it did just now." Lucky reassured Pyro that she doesn't blame her at all.
"I wonder how you're doing that though? 3 year old Unicorns don't have magic bursts like that. Normally it's babies that have magic bursts, but not in that power. Celestia, could she be a gifted magic user like Aunt Twilight?" Celestia took on a thoughtful look. "She could very well be. Though Twilight didn't have magic bursts at three, it was when she took the entrance exam to my school that she had a major magic burst. You should know that story Lucky." Lucky nodded, "I do know that story... could it be that... Pyro is the next prodigy of Celestia, if it's alright with her parents?" Celestia shook her head. "I am afraid I will not be taking on any more students." Lucky's ears folded back, but said no more. "I don't wanna go back to dem...", Pyro said angrily. Everypony's ears went back this time. "Ouch.", Lucky, Sweetie, Luna, Rainbow, Applejack, Scootaloo, and Apple Bloom said. "I'll tell you Pwincess Wucky after I eat da west of my supper.", Pyro said. Lucky nodded, then the rest all ate.
A/N: my reason for all this young foal drama with the parents: I was given up at birth and adopted at 3 years old. I think it affects my characters and what I do with them at a young age, like Lucky, Thunder, Lightning, and now, for the last one to be in a situation like that, Pyro. Lucky actually was my first ever OC pony. The story behind her creation is an interesting one. I wanted to play MLP games on the Hub's website and have my scores recorded and my levels saved for the Adventure Ponies game. I had to make an account for that to happen. I looked through the names I could use for my profile name. I saw Lucky and I liked that, then I saw Fire, which is my favorite element ^^
so I combined those two names to give myself the name Lucky Fire. Then i'm like, 'hey, that would be a super cool name for a pony ^^'. so I went on google to see if i could create my own pony character, and I found deviantart, with the pony maker by generalzoi. I used that and made her coat blue, cause blue's my favorite color, along with green, which is her eye color, and then I messed around with the mane color and found the mint blue and thought that was super pretty, so I used that for her mane color. I used the Everfree Forest for the back ground and made her expression sad. Then I thought up a story as to why that is, and I came up with the back story for her that you all know. And I made her an Alicorn because Alicorns are awesome ^^ but I also don't think I knew Alicorns are rare at the time... that's another reason.
this was also before I even got as far into MLP as I am today, so that's why all the bad representing of like, everything in my beginning chapters . but now my chapters are hopefully representing things better now than before. So that's the story of how I created the filly you all know and love today ^^ I thought of Thunder and Lightning not having a good home because I just came up with it on the spot. Pyro I actually planned long before I even included her not having the best parental situation, though she'll be the last, I Pinkie promise. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye. There, now I can't go back on it. I also came up with last minute that her parents be members of the DMS. So that's a double no good . so, hope you enjoyed the chapter.
