Chapter 50: Justice and the Argument

After everypony was done eating, Pyro had asked Lucky if she could go with her somewhere secret so that Pyro could talk to her. Lucky nodded and they went to the bedroom after Lucky cleaned off Pyro's muzzle, as there was spaghetti sauce all over it, and Lucky sat on her bed while Pyro sat on Sweetie's. "Now tell me what's going on Pyro. You said you didn't want to go back to your parents. Why?", Lucky asked. "It's cause I don't wike what dey do... dey do dark magic and dey told me what dark magic is and what dey're gwoup does. I didn't like when dey told me dat, so I weft and wanted to come and talk to you. I heard you're a Pwincess and you help ponies. You did wiff one of da ponies in DMS, Maisie. You made her good. I know my mama and papa won't change dough. Dey'll stay DMS foweber eben if dey were caught and put in pwison dey said. Dere are some members who feel da same way. Dough some I tink are weawwy nice and who can change if you helped dem. Pwincess Wucky, pwease find da DMS and stop dem."

Lucky smiled a gentle smile, "I'm trying, you should know that by your parents telling you about me when you asked them." Pyro nodded. "I know. Wish I knew where dey were meeting next. Den I could tell you.", she said. "That's ok. I'll find them eventually.", Lucky said. Pyro just nodded. "I know where my mama and papa lib dough, so you could get dem and put dem in pwison. 'Sides, I need my sippy cup... I don't tink I wanna use a big pony cup yet." Lucky's ears perked up at that. "That would be nice. I'll bring them in on the charges of conspiracy, commitment to act, seeing as what the DMS does is target the government, and they have done something before, and irresponsible parenting, seeing as they let you, a 3 year old, wander everywhere unsupervised. I'll bring Celestia and Luna with me, they can help me." Pyro smiled. "Tanks Pwincess. I know dey're my pawents, but dey need to get bwought in, cause dey'll neber change deir badness and I don't want anypony to get hurt."

Lucky smiled, "That's very thoughtful of you Pyro. So, let's go ask Celestia and Luna if they could help us." Lucky and Pyro went to the living room to find Sweetie and Celestia washing dishes. The others were talking. "Ok everypony, we have a mission, well, Luna, Celestia, and I do. Bring in Pyro's parents and have them put in prison. Pyro's gonna bring us to where they live and that way we can get them. Celestia, Luna, will you come with us?", Lucky asked. Celestia dried off her hooves and nodded. Luna stood up and nodded as well. "Alright, now we need to get some magic nullifying rings to put on their horns, and possibly Pyro... we all saw what happened when she got excited, she lit her napkin on fire. We don't need any more accidents like that. When she gets old enough to understand, one of us can teach her how to control her magic." Everypony nodded. The Princesses went to the police station first to ask if they may borrow 2 hoofcuffs and 3 magic nullifying rings, though, the one if they could have for Pyro who will be staying with them for a little bit. The police let them.

Then Pyro led Celestia, Luna, and Lucky to where her home is. It turned out to be an alleyway... though Lucky's not really all that surprised. Her parents do look quite young to have a house of their own... "Pyro, do you know how old your parents are?", Lucky asked while whispering. "Umm... I tink papa's 20 and mama's 19.", she said. "If that's so, your mama had you at quite a young age..." Lucky sighed and shook her head and thought to herself, 'young ponies these days, sheesh...' then she facehoofed, she herself is a young pony! Pyro, Celestia and Luna looked at Lucky questioningly. Lucky just shook her head and pointed to the alleyway. They nodded. Lucky then had an idea. "Celestia, Luna, is there a spell to make oneself invisible? We could sneak up on them and get them and then turn ourselves visible again." They thought. "There actually is. This'll feel weird at first, but you'll get used to it.", Luna said, then commenced the invisibility spell on Lucky. Celestia performed the spell on herself.

When Luna was done with Lucky, she performed the spell on herself. Then they were now hidden. "Ok Pyro, you can go in now." Pyro nodded then went in the alleyway. "Mama, papa, I'm back." They looked at Pyro. "Why would you go to the Princess? She's a member of the government, we've told you that, and you know we don't like the government.", her papa said, none too happy. "I wanted to see if she was anyting like you say da gobernment is. She isn't. She's weawwy nice." Her mama snorted. "She's fooling you Pyro." Pyro took on a mad look and her horn sparked. "She's not fooling me!", she said, stomping her hoof. Lucky and Celestia took action and leaped forward and put the parents in the hoofcuffs, Celestia unveiling herself and Lucky, and Luna unveiled herself and put the magic nullifying rings on their horns. Lucky had one herself and put it on Pyro, to prevent any fires by Pyro's magic spark.

Pyro's parents weren't happy, and they weren't quiet about it. Pyro looked defiantly at them and turned away. Lucky and Celestia led the two away to the police station. Luna stayed with Pyro. "You're very brave standing up to your parents like that, and bringing us to them. You should be proud of yourself." Pyro grabbed her sippy cup and went over to Luna. "I wanna go to where Pwincess Wucky went." Luna nodded and brought the filly to the police station where they met up with Celestia and Lucky. "They're going to go away for life. You did it Pyro, I'm so proud of you for standing up to them and bringing us to them so that they may be brought to justice.", Lucky said, messing up Pyro's mane. Pyro giggled and fixed her mane. "Can we go back to your pwace now?" Lucky nodded, then the three Princesses and Pyro went back to the apartment.

"How did it go? Did you get them?", Fluttershy asked. "Yes, and it went great. We got them in prison. Now we just have to get the rest, and you should have seen Pyro, she was so brave!", Lucky said. The others smiled. "Yes, she was. When they said Lucky was fooling her, she defended Lucky, although her horn sparked again and Lucky was able to put the magic nullifying ring on her horn before anything caught on fire.", Celestia said. "Nice going kid.", Rainbow said. Pyro smiled and asked Lucky if she could put the apple juice she had at supper in her sippy cup. Lucky nodded and did so, returning the cup to Pyro when it was full. "Tanks!", Pyro said and took a drink. Lucky smiled. "Pyro, did your mama and papa..." Pyro gave Lucky a look. "Dey're not my mama and papa no more... I don't want dem to be." Lucky blinked and the others were taken by surprise. "Well, Pyro, if you don't want them to be your parents... it's not really your choice. They're the ones who have to willingly release you from their care and not be your parents anymore.", Lucky explained.

"Wiwwingwy?", Pyro asked. "It means they have to want to, pretty much.", Lucky said. "Oh... well, dey pwobabwy would. Dey're not bewy nice, you saw dat aweady." Lucky nodded. "Still have to ask them though." Lucky sighed. "Back to the police station, though... it's getting late. We should all head to bed. You all staying in an inn or something or you going home?", Lucky asked everypony. "In an inn, seeing as it is getting pretty late.", Rarity said. The others nodded. "Ok, see you all tomorrow then." Everypony left. Lucky looked at Pyro. "Hmm... well, I did tell the police officer you were staying with me a bit, so... I suppose one of us should take the couch." Pyro walked to it. "I will... better dan nuffin', wike when I wibbed where I did before." Lucky nodded, thinking that was true, then got out a blanket from the closet and a spare pillow and made up the couch for Pyro, then put Pyro onto the couch and tucked her in. "I wike da couch. It's soft." Lucky chuckled and Sweetie just smiled.

"Glad to hear that. Are you done with your apple juice?" Pyro nodded. Lucky took the sippy cup and rinsed it out. "There, now have a good sleep and we'll see you in the morning.", Lucky said. Pyro nodded and settled down. Lucky and Sweetie went to their bedroom. Lucky took off her Princess stuff and then Sweetie sat on Lucky's bed. Lucky's bed is in front of the window, because she loves the moon shining on her. Sweetie's is by the door. "So, if Pyro's parents do give her up, we'll take her to an orphanage, right?", Sweetie asked in a whisper. Lucky nodded, "Of course, we'd have to. We both are too young to take care of her ourselves as caretakers. I mean, we could foalsit, but that's it." Sweetie nodded, then hugged Lucky and went over to her own bed. They went to sleep and in the morning they woke up to a very energetic Pyro. "Morning morning morning!", she was saying while hopping all over.

"Pyro, keep it down, there are other ponies in this apartment complex and some couples do have a baby.", Lucky said, then had a feeling of deja vu. Then she remembered where she heard that from. Her own ma had said something super close to what she just said when it was the morning of her 9th birthday. She chuckled to herself and got up. Sweetie had filled out the 2 weeks notice for her old job and sent it in the mail while the three Princesses were out arresting 2 of the DMS members. Lucky was asking Pyro what she wanted for breakfast when Celestia, Luna, Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack came to the door. Applejack knocked. They'd already had their breakfasts. It was 6:30 in the morning. Sweetie unlocked the door and greeted them, yawning. They came in to find Lucky preparing oatmeal for the young filly.

Pyro had her sippy cup and it had milk this time. Lucky had washed and dried it before filling it up. Lucky gave Pyro the oatmeal and told her to wait a bit cause it's very hot, and then she saw the others. She smiled and said good morning. They returned the favor. "Ma, y'know what Pyro did this morning? She bounced around my and Sweetie's bedroom saying 'morning' over and over, and I said almost exactly what you said on the morning of my 9th birthday and I had a feeling of deja vu after I said that." Applejack chuckled. "Well, now ya know what it's like ta have an excitable filly like ya were on that day." Lucky nodded, "No kidding. So, did you guys have breakfast yet?" They all nodded. "Ok, well, Sweetie Belle, should we have oatmeal as well?", Lucky asked. "Sure." They made their oatmeal and Pyro was eating hers as by then it would have cooled down. When Pyro was finished, the two were eating theirs. Lucky dismissed Pyro from the table and took a break from her oatmeal to clean off Pyro's muzzle. When she was done, she went back to her oatmeal and Pyro went to the other ponies there.

"So Pyro, how was your night here?", Twilight asked. "It was good. I sweeped good." the others giggled/chuckled. "The word for 'sleeped' is 'slept'.", Twilight said. "Ok.", Pyro said. Lucky and Sweetie finished their oatmeal and Lucky did their, and Pyro's, dishes and when she was done, she set them in the drying rack, after putting last night's dishes away, and then went to the others. "Well everypony, time to ask Pyro's parents if they want to give her up.", Lucky said. The others nodded and left, Lucky then put on her Princess stuff, then she, Sweetie, and Pyro all went out of the apartment, Sweetie locking up, and they went to the prison, where they know the two would have been moved to. Lucky took over and asked if they might see the two DMS members. The guards nodded and brought her to one of booths where visitors and inmates visit with (have no idea what they're called). After a little wait, the two come in on the other side of the glass. Pyro's on Lucky's back. She wanted a piggy back ride into there.

"The reason I came in is because Pyro voiced to me that she doesn't want to be your filly anymore. I told her that that would be up to you two. What do you think?", Lucky asked. The two looked at each other, kind of surprised at first that their filly would say that, but then looked back at Lucky. "Fine. She's a traitor anyway. Not that she really belonged to the DMS group, but she is a daughter to 2 of the members. Not that she knew really what we did in detail, but she did know we don't like the government and we gave the reason that because we lived in an alley. She accepted that, but then it all got ruined when she met you. We felt we should explain to her after she asked who you were what we really do and who we really are. So if she really wants to be somepony else's daughter, so be it. You know, how about you take her? You two look really chummy already, so you adopt her."

Lucky stayed quiet out of surprise that they would even suggest that. Eventually, "D-Do you even know how old I am?", she asked. They shrugged, either not caring or they really don't know. "I'm 16! I can't take care of a 3 year old, and I'm only in my own apartment with my marefriend because I have to catch the DMS and either bring them to justice or reform them. When that's over, I'm going back with my ma and mom in our apartment in Ponyville.", Lucky said, not even realizing she just said her and Sweetie are marefriends and the fact she has two moms. Pyro was looking at Lucky like, 'what the?'. Pyro's parents looked surprised to hear that too then grinned evilly. Lucky's ears went back. Now she realized what she just said. "Oh hayseed...", she said. Sweetie groaned and facehoofed. "You have two mamas?", Pyro asked. Lucky sighed and nodded, "Yes, Rainbow Dash and Applejack. You met them last night at my place."

"Ooooh, ok. So dey're wike dose two, but instead of papa it's anuffer mama?", Pyro asked. "Pretty much.", Lucky said. "Ok." Pyro's parents looked at her incredulously. "You seriously don't care that there's such a thing as a filly fooler?", her papa asked. "Fiwwy foower?", Pyro asked. "It's a derogatory name for ponies like me and Sweetie and my moms and my Aunts, who you also met last night. Though Celestia and Luna aren't like we are.", Lucky said. "De-wo-ga-to-wy?", Pyro asked. Lucky looked at her in surprise. "Very nicely done saying that word, though with your 3 year old speech, that was still nice. It means very bad... I guess. I mean, it is a very bad thing to call somepony like me or Sweetie Belle, or any of the other mares who like mares.", Lucky said. "Oh, and yeah, I don't care. Dese two are weawwy nice and Pwincess Wucky's famiwy is too. 'Peciawwy Pwincess Wucky. Pwincess... I weawwy want you to be my mama... pwease?"

"I can't, I'm sorry. I'm too young, as I said to these two. I'm your mom's age when she had you, and that's way too young. I can tell she did everything she could to take care of you really well when you were just a baby, but when you could walk and talk, she let you roam the city while she was in meetings with the DMS... that is irresponsible... Why didn't either of you ask your parents to watch over her while you were away?", Lucky asked. They shrugged. Lucky gave them a look. "Looks like they don't care anymore... I'm done here. I'll be sending the paperwork for you both to sign to legally say that Pyro is now an orphan." Lucky then strode out of there with her wings flared. Pyro was still on her back. Sweetie followed, not very happy herself, though for an extra reason. The fact Lucky thoughtlessly blurted out their relationship, when she knew that their kind was not accepted in this city. When they were home, Pyro still with them for the moment, Sweetie ranted. "Why did you tell them that? They'll tell the guard and then the word will spread then we'll be run out of here and then we'll never catch the DMS and then these ponies will never be safe so then everything will go wrong and this city will really be a place of crime!"

"Sweetie Belle, calm down, please. You know I didn't mean to. It just slipped! They got me riled up because of the fact they would even suggest a 16 year old adopt a 3 year old. I mean, they could have not known how old I was with their ignorance of the government, or they did know and just didn't care. Still, it got me riled up and I just said it.", Lucky said, annoyed. Sweetie still didn't look quite happy, "I'm going for a walk...", she said, going out the door. Lucky held up her hoof, "Sweetie...", she started, but when the door shut, she lowered her hoof and looked down sadly. "Oh Pyro... what have I done?", she asked softly, then laid down on the floor and started crying softly, being careful not to jostle Pyro as she laid down. Pyro looked sad for Lucky and got off her back when Lucky laid down and nuzzled her.
